Hello, I'm Jenny, it's Wednesday morning and this is Newsround. | 0:00:05 | 0:00:07
Coming right up: The earless dragon and how it needs our help, | 0:00:07 | 0:00:13
And did he really think he'd get away with this? | 0:00:13 | 0:00:18
First, England took on Germany in the semi-finals of the Under 21s | 0:00:24 | 0:00:27
European Championships in Poland last night. | 0:00:27 | 0:00:30
Germany won 4-3 on penalties, as England's Tammy Abraham and | 0:00:30 | 0:00:35
Nathan Redmond had spot-kicks saved. | 0:00:35 | 0:00:37
The game finished 2-2 in normal time, with no further | 0:00:37 | 0:00:40
goals in extra time. | 0:00:40 | 0:00:41
Germany will play Spain in the final. | 0:00:41 | 0:00:44
Now, England may be out but they didn't resort | 0:00:44 | 0:00:46
to anything like this! | 0:00:46 | 0:00:47
Take a look at this spectacular bit of shirt pulling. | 0:00:47 | 0:00:50
This happened in the Norwegian league on Sunday, when one | 0:00:50 | 0:00:55
midfielder thought he'd go for a ride by clinging | 0:00:55 | 0:00:59
onto his opponent's shirt. | 0:00:59 | 0:01:00
What a foul! | 0:01:00 | 0:01:01
Unsurprisingly he got a yellow card for that, | 0:01:01 | 0:01:03
and so did his opponent for his reaction. | 0:01:03 | 0:01:06
We all like talking to our friends online, but a new feature | 0:01:06 | 0:01:09
from Snapchat has got people worried that we could be sharing | 0:01:09 | 0:01:14
too much information. | 0:01:14 | 0:01:15
Hayley's been finding out more. | 0:01:15 | 0:01:17
Snapchat is a popular way to contact your friends | 0:01:17 | 0:01:20
online and send them | 0:01:20 | 0:01:22
pictures showing them what you're up too. | 0:01:22 | 0:01:24
But recently a new feature has been added. | 0:01:24 | 0:01:26
It shows people where you are in the world. | 0:01:26 | 0:01:28
The Snap Map shows a user bitmoji. | 0:01:28 | 0:01:31
Their cartoon avatar within Snapchat, | 0:01:31 | 0:01:35
pinpointed on a world map. | 0:01:35 | 0:01:37
Users can then zoom into the map to see the | 0:01:37 | 0:01:39
exact location of their friends. | 0:01:39 | 0:01:40
It is worrying that Snapchat are encouraging users to share their | 0:01:40 | 0:01:43
location through the app, potentially with everyone on their | 0:01:43 | 0:01:45
contact list. | 0:01:45 | 0:01:46
The NSPCC wouldn't recommend that anyone shares their | 0:01:46 | 0:01:49
location, particularly with people they don't know. | 0:01:49 | 0:01:52
And that's why we are calling for all young people to be | 0:01:52 | 0:01:54
able to have safer accounts, with privacy settings set as default. | 0:01:54 | 0:01:57
What young people can do with Snapchat is actually use a setting | 0:01:57 | 0:02:01
called ghost mode, which allows them to hide their location. | 0:02:01 | 0:02:03
And we would encourage all young people to do | 0:02:03 | 0:02:05
that. | 0:02:05 | 0:02:06 | |
It's really, really simple to setup. | 0:02:06 | 0:02:08
If you turn on ghost mode, you can still see your friends, but | 0:02:08 | 0:02:11
they won't be able to see where abouts you are. | 0:02:11 | 0:02:13
When in photo taking mode, pinch the screen to open | 0:02:13 | 0:02:16
Snap Map. | 0:02:16 | 0:02:17
Touch the setting cog in the top right corner of the screen, | 0:02:17 | 0:02:22
and tap ghost mode to switch off the location sharing. | 0:02:22 | 0:02:24
A spokesperson for Snapchat has told us... | 0:02:24 | 0:02:30
Over 100 million people use Snapchat all | 0:02:40 | 0:02:42
over the world, every single day. | 0:02:42 | 0:02:44
But if you want to make sure your friends don't know | 0:02:44 | 0:02:47
exactly where you are, then turn the location off. | 0:02:47 | 0:02:51
One of the UK's most rare birds of prey is heading | 0:02:51 | 0:02:54
towards extinction in England, according to the Royal Society | 0:02:54 | 0:02:56
for the Protection of Birds. | 0:02:56 | 0:02:58
There are just four breeding pairs of hen harriers left in the country, | 0:02:58 | 0:03:02
and numbers are going down fast across the rest of the UK. | 0:03:02 | 0:03:06
The reasons include illegal hunting, and destruction | 0:03:06 | 0:03:08
of their natural habitat. | 0:03:08 | 0:03:10
Now to the school kids in Australia who are helping | 0:03:10 | 0:03:13
to save rare earless dragons. | 0:03:13 | 0:03:16
Leah has this one! | 0:03:16 | 0:03:20
Getting up close with dragons at school. | 0:03:20 | 0:03:24
While these little creatures definitely don't breathe fire, they | 0:03:24 | 0:03:28
are one of the world's rarest reptiles, and this is what an | 0:03:28 | 0:03:31
earless dragon looks like. | 0:03:31 | 0:03:36
Everybody in Australia knows Kim Kardashian is, | 0:03:36 | 0:03:37
but I don't think there's many people that recognise a | 0:03:37 | 0:03:42
grassland earless dragon. | 0:03:42 | 0:03:46
These guys are critically endangered because of | 0:03:46 | 0:03:50
things like farming and overdevelopment, | 0:03:50 | 0:03:52
which has destroyed a lot of their habitat in Australia. | 0:03:52 | 0:03:54
That's why researchers have asked school kids to make life-size | 0:03:54 | 0:03:56
models of the lizards, which will be put out | 0:03:56 | 0:03:59
into dragon habitats. | 0:03:59 | 0:04:01
And then they will be monitored to see which | 0:04:01 | 0:04:04
predators eat them. | 0:04:04 | 0:04:05
The models are made from clay, so any attacks made | 0:04:05 | 0:04:10
on the models, we should be able to see, so indents or bends in the | 0:04:10 | 0:04:14
models will be an indication they were attacked by a predator. | 0:04:14 | 0:04:17
Researchers say the study will figure out the safest places for | 0:04:17 | 0:04:20
earless dragon to live, so they can start to | 0:04:20 | 0:04:22
rebuild the population of | 0:04:22 | 0:04:24
these incredible creatures. | 0:04:24 | 0:04:30
Finally, who's up for a little live moo-sic?! | 0:04:30 | 0:04:33
These cows certainly were when five-year-old Bella | 0:04:33 | 0:04:36
decided to entertain them with her ukulele whilst on holiday | 0:04:36 | 0:04:39
at her grandparent's caravan in Llandudno in Wales. | 0:04:39 | 0:04:42
Well, the herd 'herd' her efforts, and by the end, she had | 0:04:42 | 0:04:46
a pretty great audience. | 0:04:46 | 0:04:51
That's all from the team for now, Newsround's back right here at 8.15. | 0:04:51 | 0:04:54
Enjoy your breakfast! | 0:04:54 | 0:04:57
Hey, you're watching CBBC. | 0:05:06 | 0:05:08 |
