Hi, I'm Martin with your Bank holiday Monday Newsround.

On the way...

We meet the kids taking part in one of the world's

largest street festivals.

And find out what happens next...

But first, almost 2,000 people have had to be rescued in the

city of Houston in the United States because of terrible flooding.

Parts of the city have had more than 75 centimetres

of rain over the weekend, and many residents have had to be

rescued by boat or helicopter.

The flooding comes after Hurricane Harvey hit over the weekend.

The winds have now died down but the rain keeps falling

and is expected to make flooding worse over the next few days.

Next, we all love to see footballers showing of some silky tricks

to run past players.

You don't see many goal keepers doing it though.

Maybe this is why.

Take a wee look at Ross County

He does really well with this little shuffle to beat

the striker, but...

Oh, dear.

There's a huge street party happening in London.

It's called Notting Hill Carnival.

And, as usual, Ayshah's in the middle of it.

She sent us this...

Start the music, bring on the costumes and the food,

because it's Europe's biggest street party.

Newsrounders, welcome to Carnival.

Carnival!

It's a festival that takes place every year in this area of London

and it's been happening since way back in the 1960s.

It started as a way for people from the Caribbean

community to get together and celebrate their culture.

This year is a bit different.

A minute's silence is taking place on both days to remember the victims

of the Grenfell Tower fire.

That's because the carnival is held in the same area.

On Sunday, after the silence, the crowd started clapping

for the fire officers.

I've come here to see this float being put together.

Kids who go to school around Grenfell have drawn

all of these pictures.

It's rather creative and I think it's a good idea that

we've used the drawings.

It brings positivity.

I think it's kind of a time where everyone can show their emotions

through drawings and just dance and be themselves.

So it's time for Carnival 2017 and I joined in with these guys

before they hit the streets.

They do this every year and every year makes it more exciting.

Lots of people dancing and stuff, having the

time of their lives.

What costume have you got?

It's a raptor and we're both raptors.

My favourite thing about Carnival is dressing up.

We like the dancing and the costumes and the parade.

Carnival!

Rapper Kendrick Lamar won six prizes at the MTV Video Music Awards

in the US last night.

He won Best Video Of The Year for Humble,

as well as best hip-hop artist, at the awards ceremony

in Los Angeles.

Ed Sheeran - who won artist of the year -

also performed, but Taylor Swift gave the awards a miss.

The show was hosted by Katy Perry, who wrapped up the evening

by performing her hit single Swish Swish with Nicki Minaj.

Now, how often do you get to see amazing animals up close?

Well, a TV team have spent a whole year capturing

life on the Himalayas, Rockies and Andes mountain ranges.

Jenny spoke to two of the producers of the series which is called

Life at the Extreme.

Mountain specialists, thick fur to tackle the cold

and large lungs for the thin air and huge paws to spread their weight

as they navigate the cliffs.

What can we expect from Life At The Extreme?

The best animals in the world.

These are the animals that live high up in the greatest mountains

of the world and they're really, really strange

and crazy looking animals.

So there's some of our favourites, like snow leopards,

that Alex was filming, and cougars and grizzly bears,

but also quite a lot of weird and wonderful animals,

like the shape-shifting frogs that live in the Andes that can

change their shape from one thing to another and we've got

little humming birds and, my favourite, we've got a salamander

which turns into a cannibal and eats its brothers and sisters.

Very exciting.

It must have been quite tricky though.

What were the biggest challenges?

You can see something over on another mountain,

but to get to it, you've got to go all the way back down again and then

all the way back up the other one if you're going to get close.

And who knows whether it's still going to be there

by the time you get there.

And tiny hooks on his feet help grip as he leaps from rock to rock.

Alex had to hire a bunch of yaks to move all the kit

around in the Andes, they had to hire horses

and they carry all the stuff around.

There aren't roads up these places.

You either stick the stuff on your back or you find some

friendly animal who can carry the stuff for you.

You've got very cool jobs.

What advice have you got for Newsround viewers who might

want to do the same?

Love wildlife, watch wildlife TV programmes and get out

and about and start watching wildlife around where you live.
