Hi guys, I'm Hayley here with your big stories this afternoon!

:00:00.:00:00.

Birmingham gets the perfect new arrival and...

:00:07.:00:13.

The animals chilling out in a very hot zoo.

:00:14.:00:24.

First up, we love to see a rocket launch on Newsround and this

:00:25.:00:28.

This Ariane rocket blasted off from French Guiana in South America.

:00:29.:00:36.

It's part of a plan that allows passengers on planes be able to use

:00:37.:00:43.

Staying in space, check out this awesome firey footage.

:00:44.:00:49.

This is a mega-rare film of a massive explosion

:00:50.:00:52.

It was filmed by a US satellite, that's investigating weather

:00:53.:00:59.

Back on earth now, and just before Christmas, we told you about some

:01:00.:01:09.

special penguins that travelled to a new home in Birmingham.

:01:10.:01:11.

Well, now there's another new arrival.

:01:12.:01:13.

A baby penguin chick cuddles up to his mum and dad at

:01:14.:01:16.

They might look pretty chilled out, but his parents took an

:01:17.:01:21.

This group of gentoo penguins used to live in

:01:22.:01:26.

places like Denmark, Canada and New Zealand,

:01:27.:01:29.

but they were moved to their new

:01:30.:01:37.

home in Birmingham as part of a worldwide breeding plan.

:01:38.:01:39.

The penguins had to be moved across the world in a

:01:40.:01:43.

Well, that was last year, and now, this little cutie is the first baby

:01:44.:01:48.

Keepers are hoping for some brothers and sisters to

:01:49.:01:51.

Now, it isn't the first or the most used smartphone,

:01:52.:01:58.

but it's the i-phone's 10th birthday today.

:01:59.:01:59.

Jenny's been looking into the future.

:02:00.:02:08.

Mobile phones used to look like this.

:02:09.:02:15.

Then Apple came along and invented the...

:02:16.:02:17.

Today Apple is going to reinvent the phone.

:02:18.:02:22.

Well, maybe they didn't reinvent the phone

:02:23.:02:24.

but they certainly helped make smartphones something loads of

:02:25.:02:27.

It helped to teach people to use things like

:02:28.:02:36.

touchscreens and using mobile phone cameras really got huge.

:02:37.:02:38.

So what will we be using in ten years' time?

:02:39.:02:40.

We need someone who knows about the future.

:02:41.:02:44.

My name is Mike Ryan and I'm a futurist.

:02:45.:02:46.

I investigate what's going to be happening in the future.

:02:47.:02:48.

We won't using smartphones or tablets.

:02:49.:02:50.

We will all be wearing digital contact lenses.

:02:51.:02:57.

Our skies will be full of drones delivering parcels to us but also

:02:58.:03:01.

we'll be living in a world of driverless cars, and many of those

:03:02.:03:04.

will also be flying in the air, taking people where they need to go.

:03:05.:03:10.

Printers might not sound very interesting, but in the future we're

:03:11.:03:15.

going to have 3-D food printers that will print and cook our food.

:03:16.:03:18.

They'll never get dirty, never need washing, and if we get

:03:19.:03:22.

That has literally just blown my mind!

:03:23.:03:42.

The weather may be rainy in the UK but in Rome,

:03:43.:03:45.

Italy it's boiling and the animals at the city zoo

:03:46.:03:48.

So they've been given special frozen treats to cool down.

:03:49.:03:51.

Fruit icepops and and other frozen fruit drinks are going down

:03:52.:03:54.

But these meerkats were more interested in eating the bugs.

:03:55.:03:57.

And the South American Coati forgot their table manners completely.

:03:58.:03:59.

Speaking of hot, it's always important to have plenty of water

:04:00.:04:02.

nearby when you're taking part in sport.

:04:03.:04:04.

Time to meet baseball's best waterboy EVER!

:04:05.:04:06.

Jake the dog is going to give us the two most

:04:07.:04:13.

important words to start a baseball game.

:04:14.:04:15.

Whilst most pooches are busy going for walks, playing fetch

:04:16.:04:20.

or eating biscuits, this four-legged dude is busy working at his local

:04:21.:04:23.

Jake is so barking mad about his local baseball team, the

:04:24.:04:32.

Fort Wayne TinCaps, that he volunteers to give

:04:33.:04:37.

water to the players during the game.

:04:38.:04:39.

Whenever he makes an appearance, the crowd hit the "woof".

:04:40.:04:43.

Before you know it, he'll be handing out the hot dogs.

:04:44.:04:49.

That's all from me, Newsround's back at 7.40 have a great night!

:04:50.:04:54.

We will see you with what's more tomorrow. Bye bye.

:04:55.:05:02.

Yo, whassup? Do you watch CBBC shows on your phone or tablet?
