Hi, I'm Martin and this is
Newsround. Coming up... | 0:00:04 | 0:00:14
Keep working hard, you get there and | 0:00:15 | 0:00:17
get to meet you and visions. | 0:00:17 | 0:00:19
And prepare yourselves
for an epic high-flying stunt. | 0:00:19 | 0:00:29
First up, tennis star Andy Murray
says he's keen to help young | 0:00:30 | 0:00:33
athletes achieve sporting success. | 0:00:33 | 0:00:45
It requires a certain level of skill
to achieve what he's | 0:01:18 | 0:01:21
achieved and I think that's
what we want to do. | 0:01:21 | 0:01:23
We want to be at the top
of argument are sport. | 0:01:23 | 0:01:26
Recruits to his management company
will be able to talk to Andy himself | 0:01:26 | 0:01:29
as well as getting loads of advice
on sports science, nutrition | 0:01:29 | 0:01:32
plus access to amazing facilities. | 0:01:32 | 0:01:35
He has won slams and the fact
that he is still thinking about how | 0:01:35 | 0:01:38
to help the younger players shows
how much he cares about the next | 0:01:38 | 0:01:41
generation coming up. | 0:01:41 | 0:01:43
And what is his advice for all
you budding sports stars out there? | 0:01:43 | 0:01:47
You are all going to have
setbacks along the way. | 0:01:47 | 0:01:50
Everybody gets them. | 0:01:50 | 0:01:52
It's not a bad thing. | 0:01:52 | 0:01:54
If you keep believing in yourself,
you keep working hard, | 0:01:54 | 0:01:56
you will get there. | 0:01:56 | 0:01:57
You will get to reach your goals
and your ambitions. | 0:01:57 | 0:02:00
Next, it's pretty hard
to do a backflip. | 0:02:00 | 0:02:05
But imagine managing
it in wheelchair. | 0:02:05 | 0:02:09
Well, Lily Rice is the first female
in the UK to do just that. | 0:02:09 | 0:02:19
I'm Lily Rice, I'm 13 years
old, and I ride WCMX. | 0:02:19 | 0:02:24
WCMX stands for
wheelchair motocross. | 0:02:24 | 0:02:27
It involves riding
a wheelchair in a skatepark. | 0:02:27 | 0:02:30
You ride the wheelchair
like a BMXer would ride a BMX, | 0:02:30 | 0:02:33
or a skateboarder would ride
a skateboard, or a scooter | 0:02:33 | 0:02:36
would ride a scooter. | 0:02:36 | 0:02:37
I started riding early March,
and we just, like, stayed on a | 0:02:37 | 0:02:40
few banks, which are basically
like small hills going up and down. | 0:02:40 | 0:02:46
But as my confidence increased,
I started to try bigger ramps, | 0:02:47 | 0:02:49
and then eventually did a small
quarter pipe, | 0:02:49 | 0:02:51
which is about two feet. | 0:02:51 | 0:02:54
And I felt so happy when I did that. | 0:02:54 | 0:02:56
But now, looking back
on that, I think that's | 0:02:56 | 0:02:58
nothing compared to
what I'm doing now. | 0:02:58 | 0:03:01
The backflip wasn't really a target,
I kind of just arrived at | 0:03:01 | 0:03:04
the skatepark and I was like,
I want to try a backflip. | 0:03:04 | 0:03:07
Practised into a foam pit first,
which is like a big | 0:03:07 | 0:03:10
ramp going up into a pit
of foam, basically. | 0:03:10 | 0:03:13
It kind of describes itself. | 0:03:13 | 0:03:16
Then I moved onto a resi ramp,
which is a normal ramp made for | 0:03:16 | 0:03:19
practising tricks. | 0:03:19 | 0:03:21
Once I landed it, I was,
like, really happy. | 0:03:21 | 0:03:23
I was ecstatic and I screamed. | 0:03:23 | 0:03:26
It is different to what
other people are doing. | 0:03:26 | 0:03:29
I rock up to the skate park,
and people are like, | 0:03:29 | 0:03:32
why is there a wheelchair here? | 0:03:32 | 0:03:33
Then I go onto one of the ramps,
and they are like, | 0:03:33 | 0:03:36
oh, my God. | 0:03:36 | 0:03:37
I'd like to try a front flip
now that I can do a backflip. | 0:03:37 | 0:03:40
No woman has ever done
a front flip, so I | 0:03:40 | 0:03:43
would be the first woman to do that. | 0:03:43 | 0:03:45
Skateboarding is going to
the Olympics next year, and I really | 0:03:45 | 0:03:47
hope WCMX can go to
the Paralympics as well. | 0:03:47 | 0:03:51
I want to inspire others and show
people that you can do | 0:03:51 | 0:03:54
whatever you want. | 0:03:54 | 0:03:55
You just have to put
your mind to it. | 0:03:55 | 0:04:05
Lily, I was definitely the first new
Shuai presented to do a backflip. In | 0:04:06 | 0:04:11
my dreams! | 0:04:11 | 0:04:12
Next, we're about to see one
of the biggest, coolest, | 0:04:12 | 0:04:15
gravity-defying stunts ever. | 0:04:15 | 0:04:16
These French wingsuit
flyers are gliding through | 0:04:16 | 0:04:17
Switzerland's Jungfrau Mountain. | 0:04:17 | 0:04:18
However, being able to fly just
isn't cool enough for these guys, | 0:04:18 | 0:04:21
so they decided to land
on board a light aeroplane | 0:04:21 | 0:04:24
in mid-air. What? | 0:04:24 | 0:04:26
Fred Furgen and Vince
Reffet practised more | 0:04:26 | 0:04:29
than 100 times before
doing it for real. | 0:04:29 | 0:04:32
It's like something
from an action movie. | 0:04:32 | 0:04:35
And if you haven't got any
homework this afternoon, | 0:04:35 | 0:04:38
why not head to Newsround online? | 0:04:38 | 0:04:39
We've got all the latest
on the Royal Wedding - | 0:04:39 | 0:04:42
exciting stuff! | 0:04:42 | 0:04:43
Plus, check out the trailer
for the latest Avengers movie. | 0:04:43 | 0:04:46
Cannot wait to see that one. | 0:04:46 | 0:04:50
That's it from me. Hayley's back in
the morning. | 0:04:50 | 0:04:56 |
