Hi, I'm Ricky, bringing you your Sunday Newsround.

:00:00.:00:07.

On the way: The panda party in China for triplets!

:00:08.:00:11.

But first, today and tomorrow, events will be taking place

:00:12.:00:28.

in the town of Ypres in Belgium to mark 100 years

:00:29.:00:30.

since the Battle of Passchendaele, which took place

:00:31.:00:33.

Half a million German, British and Allied soldiers

:00:34.:00:38.

were wounded or killed on the battlefield and trenches

:00:39.:00:43.

surrounding the town and tonight a ceremony attended by the Duke

:00:44.:00:46.

and Duchess of Cambridge will remember those who lost

:00:47.:00:48.

Whilst the fighting ended long ago, evidence of the battle still exists

:00:49.:00:57.

today and people are still clearing up unexploded bombs,

:00:58.:00:59.

bullets and grenades in the fields and farmland nearby.

:01:00.:01:03.

I've been looking at what's being done to make

:01:04.:01:05.

In this corner of Europe first world war shells explode

:01:06.:01:18.

The Belgium bomb disposal team deal with at least 200

:01:19.:01:31.

tonnes of unexploded bombs and grenades every year.

:01:32.:01:37.

During the First World War all along the western front,

:01:38.:01:40.

One in three failed to explode leaving approximately

:01:41.:01:46.

500 million left unexploded, in the ground.

:01:47.:01:52.

Farmers are often the ones that discover shells

:01:53.:01:54.

buried in the earth when they are ploughing

:01:55.:01:56.

Many of these are unidentified and are left at the side of the road

:01:57.:02:01.

So, if you look at the length and the fuses, this is an explosive.

:02:02.:02:13.

The first job is to clean them up, and work out if they are traditional

:02:14.:02:21.

explosive shells, or ones that contain deadly chemicals.

:02:22.:02:27.

Even after 100 years, lives are still at risk.

:02:28.:02:31.

The chemical shells are eventually destroyed in a special sealed

:02:32.:02:34.

chamber to stop the toxic gases from escaping.

:02:35.:02:39.

Traditional explosives like these are treated definitely.

:02:40.:02:42.

Shells, bombs, grenades and bullets forced to the surface

:02:43.:02:45.

through years of rainfall, frost and ploughed fields

:02:46.:02:49.

Here, finally, controlled explosions destroy the deadly devices, 100

:02:50.:02:56.

More are still waiting to be discovered, a century on.

:02:57.:03:06.

Well to find out more about the First World War,

:03:07.:03:08.

Watch incredible stories about some of the youngest soldiers

:03:09.:03:12.

who fought on the front line, and find out what

:03:13.:03:15.

Sport now, and England's women face a tough test tonight as they take

:03:16.:03:26.

on France in the quarter finals of the Women's Euros

:03:27.:03:29.

England reached the last eight topping Group D with a 100% record

:03:30.:03:33.

while the French only scraped second in their group.

:03:34.:03:35.

The Lionesses are on good form, but know they have a big match ahead.

:03:36.:03:40.

Let's hope the weather is better for the English ladies tonight

:03:41.:03:42.

than it was when Germany were meant to play Denmark last night.

:03:43.:03:45.

The rain was so heavy in the Netherlands that the dug outs

:03:46.:03:48.

were flooded and the pitch looked a bit like a swimming pool.

:03:49.:03:53.

Not great for football as this staff member found out.

:03:54.:04:01.

Next, we all know that texting when crossing

:04:02.:04:13.

the road is not a good idea, and one city in The United States

:04:14.:04:16.

The rule is being bought in in Hawaii this October and it

:04:17.:04:20.

will mean anyone caught crossing the road while distracted

:04:21.:04:22.

The aim is to reduce injuries from people walking across roads

:04:23.:04:26.

Next up, the team are preparing for their last show tonight -

:04:27.:04:30.

Wild Alaska Live - which you can see on BBC One at 7pm.

:04:31.:04:34.

Well, friend of the show Steve Backshall sent Newsround

:04:35.:04:36.

a look behind the scenes as they prepare to film

:04:37.:04:39.

It's Steve Backshall, reporting to you from BBC One Alaska Live.

:04:40.:04:44.

Today, we're heading out to sea to try to find humpback whales.

:04:45.:04:47.

But not just to find them and see them but to try and witness

:04:48.:04:51.

So all of these whales coming together, cooperating

:04:52.:04:55.

to focus on a group of fish, swallowing tonnes

:04:56.:04:58.

It is without doubt one of the greatest wildlife

:04:59.:05:02.

If we get it right, it's going to be amazing.

:05:03.:05:09.

We can see lots of boats in the distance, plus our helicopter

:05:10.:05:15.

The only thing is that at the moment, we need to have very

:05:16.:05:22.

So we are just hanging here for the moment.

:05:23.:05:25.

It's quite frustrating that they're just there.

:05:26.:05:29.

OK, we're standing by for our pre-titles here.

:05:30.:05:37.

And finally, the world's only giant panda triplets

:05:38.:05:43.

celebrated their third birthday on Saturday at a Safari

:05:44.:05:45.

Around 5,000 panda fans gathered at the zoo to witness the birthday

:05:46.:05:49.

Fans wore T-shirts specially made for the birthday party and sang

:05:50.:05:53.

That's all from me, Newsround's back right here tomorrow with Jenny.

:05:54.:06:00.

Do you know what I love? A good drawing

:06:01.:06:05.

and that is why I want you to send in your summer dream scenes

:06:06.:06:08.

so that we can show off your artwork right here in CBBC HQ.

:06:09.:06:13.

Maybe you want to draw a picture of Rhys and Katie

:06:14.:06:15.

playing a little bit of volleyball on a beach,

:06:16.:06:18.

or perhaps you and Hacker going for a bicycle ride.

:06:19.:06:22.
