But first, today and tomorrow, events will be taking place

in the town of Ypres in Belgium to mark 100 years since the Battle

of Passchendaele, which took place during World War One.

An estimated 245,000 British and Allied soldiers were wounded

or killed on the battlefield and trenches surrounding the town

of Ypres and tonight a ceremony attended by the Duke and Duchess

of Cambridge will remember those who lost their lives in the fighting.

England's women face a tough test tonight as they take on France

in the quarter finals of the Women's Euros.

England reached the last eight, topping Group D with a 100% record

while the French only scraped second in their group.

With ten goals scored, the Lionesses are in good form, but they know

they have a big match ahead.

They are without one of their key players, which is massive.

It's a huge loss for them and a boost for us but it's only

a boost if we capitalise on it.

But I think we're confident going into it.

We know we can win it.

But we're going to have to have a very good

performance to do that.

Let's hope the weather is better for the English ladies tonight

than it was when Germany were meant to play Denmark last night.

The rain was so heavy in the Netherlands that the dugouts

were flooded and the pitch looked a bit like a swimming pool.

Not great for football, as this staff member found out.

Oops, looks like she was OK, though!

Well, friend of the show Steve Backshall sent Newsround

a look behind the scenes as they prepare to film

some humpback whales.

Hi, everyone at Newsround.

It's Steve Backshall, reporting to you from BBC One Alaska Live.

Today, we're heading out to sea to try to find humpback whales.

But not just to find them and see them but to try and witness

an incredible feeding spectacle.

So all of these whales coming together, cooperating

to focus on a group of fish, swallowing tonnes

in every single hunt.

It is without doubt one of the greatest wildlife

spectacles on the planet.

If we get it right, it's going to be amazing.

The whales are around.

We have got whales.

We can see lots of boats in the distance, plus our helicopter

hovering above them.

The whales are directly underneath.

The only thing is that at the moment, we need to have very

clear transmission back to land.

So we are just hanging here for the moment.

It's quite frustrating that they're just there.

Next, we all know that texting and walking is not a great idea,

especially when crossing the road, and one city in the United States

has now banned it.

The rule is being brought in one city in Hawaii in October and it

will mean anyone caught crossing the road while distracted

by their phone will be fined, and if they are caught again

the fine gets even bigger.

The aim is to reduce injuries from people walking across roads

distracted by their phones.

Next, it's that time of the week when things get

a little weird around here.

Yes, it's time for strange, stranger, strangest.

Enjoy.

These adventurous elephants decided they fancied a swim.

Only trouble is, they got pushed out a bit too far

and the Navy had to help them.

Smooth, guys!

Real smooth.

I mean, they say elephants never forget but I think these elephants

might have forgotten they should be on land!

Not in the ocean.

They're not dolphins.

Maybe they want to be, though.

How do you look after baby pandas without them

realising your a zookeeper?

Well, obviously, you dress up in a poorly constructed panda

costume and hang out with the little guys.

But this zookeeper in China isn't just playing with the cubs.

He's helping them learn to fend for themselves

without the help of humans, before they're released into the wild.

Oh, my!

Is that star swimmer an Olympic great, Michael Phelps?

Wait!

Is he going to race a shark?

The short answer is no, he isn't.

He's racing a simulated shark and it was all to promote a nature

programme on a TV channel.

Some people felt disappointed when they found out.

Mr Phelps, however, was probably quite pleased

even if for once he didn't win!

How's this for a sweet present for a teacher?

It reads: "To Mr Hathway.

Thank you for turning me into a real SMARTIES this year.

'You have given my learning a real BOOST.

It's the summer holidays now so TWIRL with excitement

and take TIME OUT to relax, you should have a nice PICNIC."

Mr Hathway, a teacher in Bristol, said he was delighted

with the present and was planning to share it with his family.

I should hope so!

And finally the world's only giant panda triplets

celebrated their third birthday on Saturday at a Safari

Park in South China.

Around 5,000 panda fans gathered at the zoo to witness the birthday

party for the pandas.

Fans wore T-shirts specially made for the birthday party and sang

Happy Birthday to them via a special video link.
