Morning guys Ricky here with your Wednesday newsround.

:00:12.:00:14.

It was the start of the new series last night and the first time

:00:15.:00:20.

the show has been shown on Channel 4 rather than the BBC.

:00:21.:00:23.

So did it rise to the challenge or did it fall a bit flat?

:00:24.:00:26.

Looks are deceiving, largely? My hands are shaking so much. OK,

:00:27.:00:47.

because, if your time is up. I liked the first episode because it had

:00:48.:00:52.

lots of creative ideas in it and I loved the new people. I liked Mary

:00:53.:00:57.

Berry and Paul Hollywood and I am glad that Paul Collingwood state.

:00:58.:01:04.

But I still miss Mary Berry. I thought the first episode was better

:01:05.:01:08.

than the old episodes because they made better cakes and the funny bit

:01:09.:01:13.

was when one of the bakers forgot to put the oven on and put their cake

:01:14.:01:18.

and so it would not break. I liked this CD is better because Mary Berry

:01:19.:01:23.

is not in it, I don't like Mary Berry. I think they now serve better

:01:24.:01:31.

stuff. Mary Berry topped more and get what advice. The person I was

:01:32.:01:37.

impressed by was the old lady in their the last one in the challenge,

:01:38.:01:41.

she made a watermelon that looked perfect. I really enjoyed watching

:01:42.:01:49.

the first episode of Bake Off and I will keep watching to see what

:01:50.:01:53.

happens next. I did not think it was that much different, the only thing

:01:54.:01:57.

different to it was the presenters and the judges. It was a very good

:01:58.:02:04.

episode and I liked the actual bakers. I will carry on with Bake

:02:05.:02:12.

Off but I would do as much as I used it I don't think. OK, bakers, you

:02:13.:02:20.

only have five minutes left. I am missing Mel and Sue!

:02:21.:02:22.

And we want to know what you think of the new Bake off,

:02:23.:02:25.

is it better worse or just the same - go online to have your say now.

:02:26.:02:29.

All summer, people have been taking part in Pride festivals,

:02:30.:02:31.

which celebrate lesbian, gay, bisexual and

:02:32.:02:33.

It's 50 years since it was made legal for men to be gay

:02:34.:02:37.

in England and Wales, and attitudes then

:02:38.:02:38.

Newsround viewer Megan went to one of Britain's biggest Pride

:02:39.:02:42.

I have come to Manchester for the very first time this weekend to

:02:43.:02:57.

visit Pride Festival. Although most people are here to celebrate and

:02:58.:03:00.

have a great time I have come for a different reason, to meet my uncle

:03:01.:03:04.

Andrew who took part in one of the very first Pride rallies and I want

:03:05.:03:08.

to find out what his life was like back then. What was it like for you

:03:09.:03:13.

back in when you first came out? It was in one way very lonely because I

:03:14.:03:21.

only knew one person who was gay and I was already 25. People hid

:03:22.:03:28.

themselves, you did not know. How did you feel coming out in a society

:03:29.:03:34.

when it was not legalised? Asked of us who wanted to read ordinary lives

:03:35.:03:37.

were aware that we might end up in prison. Over a thousand of us per

:03:38.:03:43.

year were sent to prison. Did anyone see anything nasty to you? I was

:03:44.:03:51.

refused a job once when they found out, they did not find out I was

:03:52.:03:55.

gay, I told them I was. One existing member of staff said I am not

:03:56.:03:58.

working in the same office as someone who is gay and they withdrew

:03:59.:04:03.

the offer of a job. Have people's attitudes towards being gay and the

:04:04.:04:10.

LGB key community changed? Yes they have. It depends where you are, they

:04:11.:04:17.

have not changed in many countries around the world but they have

:04:18.:04:21.

changed, Britain has done very well. What advice would you give to people

:04:22.:04:29.

coming out now? I would say there is a warm and welcoming world out here

:04:30.:04:36.

for you as you come out. I had never really had my uncle talk about his

:04:37.:04:41.

life before, it was really lovely to meet him and get to know all of his

:04:42.:04:45.

experiences and what he has been through. I am so proud of everything

:04:46.:04:51.

he has done. Thank you for that.

:04:52.:04:52.

That's all from me, Newsround's back right here in about half an hour.

:04:53.:05:02.

and my favourite TV programme on CBBC is So Awkward.

:05:03.:05:07.

And my favourite character is Lily

:05:08.:05:11.
