Being a ninja is almost like being a magician,

which is what Rich is doing...

Now, this I've got to see.

the incredible disappearing rabbit.

But first, to ensure the spell is not broken,

close your eyes.

Here's something that's truly magic.

I'm telling you, it's a magic box.

What are Rich and Ella doing?

-It's not a magic box.

-It is!

Totally magic. Trust me.

Get in.

Whoa! Is this some kind of magic box portal?

No, he's thinking inside the box...

and outside the box.

Now, to make this cool teleporting box animation,

you'll need a couple of cardboard boxes, a large open space,

some friends, and a tablet with animation app installed.

And you can put it together in just three Ninja Moves.

Ninja Move number one... You need to delegate.

You need one person to teleport, one person to be the box master,

and somebody to direct.

Ninja Move number two...

Right, I'm going to set up our tablet device,

and we're going to start shooting and just see where it takes us.

The fun here is working out how we're going to make

Ella disappear and reappear inside the boxes.

And top tip - if you angle the boxes at the right level,

you can hide behind them, so it looks like you're

fully getting inside each time.

Ninja Move number three...

We're going to be making an animation loop,

which means we're going to re-use the same frames.

It's going to look like Ella here is stuck flying between two boxes.

Now, because Rich is stood there, he needs to

stay as still as possible while Ella moves across the floor.

And each time you move something, capture a frame.

OK, we've shot all of our frames, we've added some cool sound effects,

I think it's time to take a look at our mini-masterpiece.

Ah, sweet.

It's a pretty simple animation, but it came out brilliantly.

-Now, better clean up these boxes, then.

-Yep.

So, art with a cereal box is a great suggestion,

but I'm going to need something else from you as well.

Isabella, can you come up to the screen?

That's it. Closer, closer.

And now close the eye.

Just going to go and print those out.

I've got the two lovely pictures of your eye -

one open, and one closed -

and I've got myself a trusty cereal box.

I'm going to start by just cutting off the front panel,

the bottom and the back.

Gavin's popping up vlogging all over the place today.

-If you were to do a vlog, what would you do a vlog about?

-Computer games?

I can do in five minutes.

That's a good idea, a challenge vlog.

Right, so just got your eyes, here, and I'm going to use a ruler,

and I'm going to draw lines along it the same width as the ruler.

I guess if I did a vlog I would do an art-based vlog, or maybe,

like, a ninja Vlog.

Now, I'm just going to draw the same lines

the width of the ruler on the other eye.

So, do you guys have a favourite artist?

-David Hockney.

-Oh.

I was kind of hoping you'd say me.

-Equal to you, too.

-Yes!

Right, I'm just going to cut your eye into strips, now.

So, the open one, I'm going to cut along these lines.

And it's important when I organise them that I keep them

in the right order,

cos it's kind of hard to see what they are when they're as strips.

And with this technique, you don't have to use pictures of eyes.

You can use anything you like.

I've finished with the open eye now, and I'm moving on to the closed one.

Your eyelashes on your closed eye look really strange zoomed in.

It's kind of like a moustache, or maybe a monobrow.

Oh, yeah!

Now I'm going to stick down the pictures of your eye

to my piece of card. That's just with the glue stick.

And I'm going to alternate between the two piles.

So, one strip of eye open, one strip of eye closed,

all the way along. Here we go.

So, do you guys have any hobbies?

Eating, sleeping, video games, art.

It sounds like pretty much what I do.

I'm just going to show you guys how I'm getting on,

cos I think it looks super weird.

It's like strips of your eye, alternately stuck along,

-looks really alien, doesn't it?

-Yeah.

Cut off this excess bit, cos I don't need that.

Now I'm going to use a ruler and the back of my scissors

to score a line between where the pictures meet.

This is to help it fold.

If you're scoring at home, make sure you put a mat down

to protect the table.

What's your favourite kind of art to do?

I like doing pointillism.

-Wow!

-It's like ordinary painting, but then you just do dots on it.

Amazing!

And now I'm going to fold it along my scored lines

into a zig-zag shape.

So, over, and then turn it over and fold it back again.

This is called a concertina.

-You guys ready to see it? BOTH:

-Yeah.

-OK.

There's two parts to see. Here's the first one...

-BOTH:

-BOTH:

-Cool!

So, it kind of looks like it's blinking. Does it work?

-BOTH:

-Yeah.

-So, can you see yourself making this?

-BOTH:

-"Eye" think so!

Ha-ha! See what they did, there?
