Bunyip Hunters Prank Patrol Down Under

Today, Jonty joins the Prank Patrol.

His mission - to take his best friends Corey and Ben

on a camping trip in the great outdoors.

But a relaxing trip away turns scary

when the boys discover all signs of a bunyip lose in the area,

and its favourite snack could be them.

Jonty loves skateboarding, shooting some hoops,

and rocking out with his mates.

Prank Patrol, I need help to get revenge on my friends Corey and Ben.

The targets of Jonty's prank are his best mates, Corey and Ben.

These three mates are inseparable and love playing backyard cricket,

and just goofing around.

Yeah, great, but what's with the sock puppet?

So, we're doing some pranking. Who are we getting?

My friends Corey and Bennett.

-Two guys?

Bennett acts like the tough guy, but we think he's all scared.

What's the deal with these guys?

Do you prank them all the time, or do they prank you?

They always prank me. I want some revenge so I came to you guys.

We need to come up with how to prank them. What do you guys do together?

We play cricket in the backyard, some video games and camping.

-Camping?

-Yes.

I tell you what, Jonty, we have got an absolute ripper prank

in our secret Prank Patrol files that has camping,

-scaring and a big creature in it. Do you want to check it out?

-Sure!

It's going to be great to scare these two.

Bunyip hunters. Do you know what a bunyip is?

Yes, it's like a Bigfoot, but the Australian version,

and it roams round campsites.

Exactly. A big bush creature with big teeth.

This prank needs to involve your dad. Do you reckon he'd help us out?

Yes, I reckon he would.

Great. So, we'll get you and your dad to invite Corey and Bennett

to come camping with you guys at a campsite.

-Yeah.

-Sounds pretty normal, but when you guys rock up to the campsite,

it's going to be anything but deserted.

There's going to be stuff everywhere,

including a big esky with bite marks out of it,

a sign which has a claw mark through the middle of it, to look like

this creature comes round this campsite.

You guys are going to be there

when two bunyip hunters will rock up with their catching equipment.

-Oh!

-Except, it's not until the lights go out

that the bunyip finally turns up for dinner!

-Yeah!

-That's the prank. What do you think?

It's a pretty scary prank.

I don't think the boys will want to go camping with you

ever, ever again after this!

We think there's probably no such thing as a bunyip in real life,

but we're going to need someone to help us

get into the mind of a ferocious child-chasing predator.

who's an expert in tigers, as well as how predators stalk their prey.

All right, Jonty, this is Seeta. She's a female Bengal tiger

and she loves this cardboard box.

I'm doing a prank on my friends about a bunyip.

What are some of the elements of a predator?

Well, I can tell you about tigers.

When we see Seeta wanting to stalk some prey,

she'll use camouflage and logs and different furniture to hide behind.

Her ears will flatten down and her whiskers will splay forward.

She gets very low to the ground, and her front hips will get high

and her tail will twitch around a little bit.

What's the best way to get away from a tiger?

If you're stalked by a tiger, make yourself bigger than what you are.

If you've got a jumper on, take it off and wave it around.

Make a lot of noise and clap and scream and yell.

Hopefully, you'll scare off the animal.

They are not really trying to stalk you much -

they're more afraid of humans than anything.

Do they like to eat young boys?

There's always the exception to the rule, but not usually.

They don't like to eat people, only if they're really hungry!

If you've got a guest coming you want to give a "ruff" time to,

you can with today's recipe.

Just get a tape recorder and some rope.

Make a tape recording of a scary dog barking. The scarier the better.

Then, hide in your front yard, tie the rope to a bush or tree,

and just wait for your guest.

When the time's right, set loose your virtual dog.

Once you've pulled this prank, make sure you don't get caught.

If you do, you just might end up in the doghouse.

Latest prank patrol member Jonty is out to prank his best mates

Corey and Ben into believing a bunyip is on the loose.

Will his mates be scared enough to fall for our terrifying monster,

or will this prank be all bore and no roar?

Now we know how a predator behaves in the wild,

we can think about how our bunyip hunters might catch it.

Who better to teach us than a professional animal catcher?

Jonty, this is Jodie. Jodie, Jonty.

Hey, Jodie.

She is from the Animal Welfare League of Queensland,

so her job is to rescue lost and stray animals, isn't that right?

That's right.

We look after lots of animals. Cats, dogs, horses...

I was wondering, if you could show us some of your capturing techniques

with the animals, especially maybe with dogs?

Yeah, that's fine. Let's go!

OK, it's really important when we're trying to catch a stray animal

that we don't chase them, and that we don't scare them.

The best thing to do is to try and get them to come and see us.

So, we're going to go down quite low

because we don't want to seem intimidating or scary.

We're going to use friendly, happy voices to get them to come to us.

So, a nice high-pitched, squeaky tone. Hi, guys!

Come on, puppies. Come on! Hello! How are you doing?

As soon as they come, you can give them some food as a reward.

And then, we're just going to try and get them into a safe place

-and put a lead on, so they're safe, OK?

-Yes.

and back to the Animal Welfare League. Here we go, come on.

with the lights off.

We're going to have to turn the lights off outside for a bit,

Our cameras have been specially fitted with night vision,

so that we don't miss even one terrified facial expression.

When we heard that noise right next to our tent.

My favourite part was when you just saw the reactions

And they just jumped backwards, it was great!
