and the team with the most points will earn a head start in the final

team relay, the Showdown.

a team who say they are ready to deliver a knockout performance.

And hey, it's not even Boxing Day yet. Ba-doom-tish.

and is a big fan of West Brom.

Cousin Josh supports rivals Wolves. He's the captain of his local club.

Kian's mum Claire is a whiz at netball and is a bit of a giggler!

And dad Mac is a former boxing champion

who also loves a good darts match.

I hear that you've got a bit of a Christmas joke for me.

Oh, yes.

Let's, um...kick off with a festive version of a Showdown classic.

-"Kick off". Football. Yeah, I see what you did there.

Very good. Very good. Yeah. It's time for Battle Ball.

-ANNOUNCER:

-In Battle Ball,

two strikers have to get past a defender to score a goal.

The defender must stay within the centre circle.

Each team has one chance to score. The fastest goal wins ten points.

CHEERING

Now, because it's Christmas,

we've swapped the Battle Ball footballs for baubles.

-You should see the tree these came off. Whoo!

-OK.

Gabrielle, for this game you need one defender and two strikers.

Who have you chosen to play?

I've chosen Josh as a striker,

Ami as a defender and myself as a striker.

-Excellent.

-All right, Kian, from The Awesome Foursome,

who is going to be playing this game?

Chosen my dad because he's got lots of stamina and accuracy,

Josh cos he's a very good defender.

-And I've chosen myself because I've experienced being a striker.

-OK.

Kian and Mac, you will be trying to score for The Awesome Foursome,

and, Naomi, you will be defending for The Ultimates in the first half.

Let's play Bauble Ball.

-ANNOUNCER:

-The teams are psyching themselves up

for battle to commence.

Who will take the first ten points?

Cheeky, Kian!

-WHISTLE BLOWS

-There goes the whistle.

And they're off. And all the players rush straight to the bauble.

Naomi holding a great defence stance there,

but Mac is trying to knock her out of the way.

Lots of encouragement from the Red dugout,

but there seems to be a bit of a stalemate on the pitch.

-MAC:

-Kian!

-You take it that way.

-Mac trying to talk tactics to Kian.

The Blues need to create space so they can get the bauble past.

Mac has turned his attention to Naomi,

and Kian is able to push the bauble away.

Ooh, a little slip from Mac there. Something funny, Gabrielle?

Kian attempts to pass the bauble down the side of the pitch

while Mac is concentrating on keeping Naomi away.

Good defending there, Naomi.

Remember, she can't step out of the centre circle.

But Kian is through and the bauble is clear,

but straight into the corner!

Mac is still one on one with Naomi. Can Kian bounce the bauble out?

Oh, Naomi's making a dash for it!

But Mac has blocked her,

and Kian releases the bauble and kicks it home.

One minute and seven seconds the time to beat.

Tension on the pitch as the teams wait for the whistle.

Defender Josh looks confident.

WHISTLE BLOWS

And the Reds are straight to the bauble,

but Josh for the Blues also has it covered.

Lots of pushing of spheres, but not a lot of bauble movement yet.

Blue Josh looks steadfast in his defence,

but Red Joshua creates a gap, and the impasse is now over.

There's a clash of Joshs as Gabrielle nips down

the side of the pitch. Kian is excited.

Joshua continues to hold Josh away.

Now, can Gabrielle manoeuvre the bauble out of the corner?

It seems well and truly stuck.

She needs to get on the right side of it.

That should do the trick!

Josh can't leave the circle, but Joshua's just making sure,

and Gabrielle has regained control of the bauble.

She kicks it in the goal and the Reds are loving that.

the Show-ho-ho-down.

Joshua is flying down, but Kian's right behind him.

There's the Reds' handover, and the Blues are about to do the same.

Channelle is through the hurdles and straight to the tunnel traps.

But Kian needs to release the Blue baton! Yes! He's done it.

Quick pass to Mum, and she too makes her way to the tunnel traps.

Remember, only one tunnel has an exit,

and both teams are struggling to find it.

Claire's changed her mind,

but Channelle's got the right one.

She's passed the baton to Naomi,

who starts to fence like there's no tomorrow.

Claire's out! Over to Dad Mac for balloon popping.

Naomi passes the baton to Gabrielle. Mac is still popping.

But Gabrielle racing. She's at the hurdles.

Oh, she taken a tumble!

Will this give Blues a chance to catch up? Josh is away.

But no, Gabrielle's back on her feet

and races to victory!
