Hello, I'm Justin.

0:00:540:00:57

Today I'm going to be joining my friends for a circus skills class.

0:00:570:01:03

Ooh!

0:01:040:01:05

I wonder what Mr Tumble is doing.

0:01:050:01:09

I'm playing with my Tumble Tap.

0:01:090:01:13

The Tumble Tap, Mr Tumble?

0:01:130:01:15

Ooh, yes! You have to tap a spot and then you see a picture.

0:01:150:01:21

-Justin and his friends are going to love that!

-Ooh, yes!

0:01:220:01:26

-Put it in the spotty bag, then, Mr Tumble.

-OK! Ha-ha.

0:01:280:01:33

-Don't forget the magic!

-Magic?

0:01:380:01:41

Yes, the magic, to send the spotty bag to Justin and his friends.

0:01:410:01:46

Ah, yes, the magic! Oh, um...

0:01:460:01:51

You're my friends. Can you help me?

0:01:510:01:55

Take your finger, touch your nose, blink three times, and off it goes.

0:01:560:02:03

Take your finger and touch your nose.

Blink three times, and off it goes!

0:02:160:02:21

Whoa! Yeah!

0:02:260:02:29

Good spinning.

0:02:290:02:31

Hey, hang on a minute. Look.

0:02:310:02:33

It's Mr Tumble's spotty bag. A-ha!

0:02:330:02:38

Now then, these are my friends.

0:02:380:02:42

Now, this is Jake. Hello, Jake.

0:02:420:02:45

Hello.

0:02:450:02:46

Hi. And this is Luke.

0:02:460:02:49

-Hello, Luke.

-Hello, Justin.

-Hi there.

0:02:490:02:52

Now, today we're practising our circus skills.

0:02:520:02:57

-It's great fun, isn't it?

-Yeah!

-Yeah!

0:02:570:03:00

And we're having a go at spinning some plates.

0:03:000:03:04

It's pretty tricky.

0:03:040:03:06

Well done, boys.

0:03:060:03:07

I wonder what other circus skills

0:03:070:03:11

we could try.

0:03:110:03:12

Maybe Mr Tumble has got a good idea.

0:03:120:03:16

Let's have a look inside Mr Tumble's spotty bag.

0:03:160:03:21

-Spotty bag!

-Yeah.

0:03:210:03:22

Oh, look, boys. It's the Tumble Tap.

0:03:220:03:26

Jake, would you tap the spot for me?

0:03:260:03:29

-DING!

-That's it. Lovely.

0:03:290:03:32

-What have we got?

-Stilts!

0:03:330:03:34

That's right, we've got some stilts.

0:03:340:03:37

Where are the stilts? Are they here? When you see them, wave or cheer.

0:03:390:03:44

THEY CHEER

0:03:450:03:47

Well done, Jake. Well done, Luke.

0:03:470:03:50

You've found the stilts.

0:03:500:03:51

Can you see the stilts?

0:03:510:03:54

Yes, there are the stilts.

0:03:540:03:55

It's time to sign.

0:03:550:03:59

Ah, look.

0:04:000:04:01

Stilts.

0:04:010:04:02

You sign.

0:04:040:04:06

Stilts.

0:04:060:04:07

Stilts.

0:04:090:04:11

Great signing, Emmanuel.

0:04:110:04:13

Stilts.

0:04:160:04:17

Fantastic, Ethan.

0:04:170:04:19

We stand on stilts to make ourselves taller.

0:04:210:04:25

They're tricky to walk on so we need to be very careful.

0:04:250:04:28

-Jake and Luke are going to show me how to stilt-walk, aren't you?

-Yeah!

0:04:280:04:34

Ah, thank you!

0:04:340:04:36

They're getting their stilts on, and then they'll be ready.

0:04:360:04:40

So you can show me what to do.

0:04:400:04:42

-Up nice and straight.

-What was that, Luke?

0:04:420:04:46

OK, yes. Keep your head up and tiny pitter-patter steps. OK.

0:04:460:04:51

That's it. Keep going. Fantastic. That's brilliant.

0:04:510:04:56

Right, head up...

0:04:570:05:01

and small steps. How's this, Luke?

0:05:010:05:04

-Is that good?

-Yes.

-Ah, thank you.

0:05:040:05:07

Walking on stilts - it's very difficult.

0:05:100:05:14

Sometimes you wobble around a bit.

0:05:200:05:23

Wow!

0:05:260:05:29

That was great fun.

0:05:290:05:31

I loved stilt-walking.

0:05:310:05:33

Thank you, Jake and Luke.

0:05:330:05:35

-BOYS:

-Let's look inside Mr Tumble's spotty bag!

-Oh, OK.

0:05:350:05:40

Let's have a look inside Mr Tumble's spotty bag

0:05:400:05:45

to see what he wants us to do next.

0:05:450:05:48

-What do you think?

-Yeah.

0:05:480:05:50

Ooh, look. Here's the Tumble Tap.

0:05:500:05:52

I'll tap the blue spot. What have we got there?

0:05:520:05:56

Tight wire!

0:05:560:05:58

That's right, it's the tight wire.

0:05:580:06:00

Where's the tight wire? Is it here? When you see it, wave or cheer!

0:06:030:06:09

-Hurray!

-Hurray!

-Well done, Jake. Well done, Luke.

0:06:090:06:12

You've found the tight wire.

0:06:120:06:15

Can you see the tight wire? Yes, there's the tight wire.

0:06:150:06:19

It's time to sign.

0:06:200:06:22

Ah, look.

0:06:220:06:25

Tight wire.

0:06:250:06:26

You sign.

0:06:280:06:29

Tight wire.

0:06:290:06:31

Tight wire.

0:06:330:06:35

Ha-ha! Great stuff, Tula.

0:06:350:06:37

Tight wire.

0:06:390:06:41

Well done, Georgia.

0:06:410:06:43

Whoa! What's this, guys?

0:06:450:06:47

BOYS: Tight wire!

0:06:470:06:49

-That's right. It's the

-tight wire.

-Hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo!

0:06:490:06:53

-Now, Luke is going to have a go, aren't you?

-Yes!

-Fantastic.

0:06:530:06:58

Are you ready, Luke? Martine, will you be able to help Luke?

0:06:580:07:02

-Yes, I will.

-Brilliant!

0:07:020:07:04

Jake, we'll go over here and cheer Luke on from the other side.

0:07:040:07:09

Tight wires are very narrow, so they're hard to walk on.

0:07:090:07:13

Luke's going to walk from one end to the other. Wow!

0:07:130:07:18

-How do you think he's doing, Jake?

-Good.

-Yeah.

0:07:180:07:22

Now, Luke really has to balance very carefully,

0:07:220:07:26

and concentrate as he walks across the thin wire.

0:07:260:07:31

Wow, look at his feet.

0:07:330:07:35

They're keeping very, very steady.

0:07:350:07:37

Excellent!

0:07:370:07:39

He's nearly there.

0:07:420:07:44

All the way to the end.

0:07:440:07:45

Yay! A big cheer for Luke!

0:07:480:07:51

Woo-hoo!

0:07:510:07:53

Well done, Luke! That was fantastic.

0:07:530:07:57

-How did that feel, up there on the wire?

-Wonderful!

-Oh, wow!

0:07:570:08:02

You were very clever.

0:08:020:08:04

-BELLS CHIME

-Ooh, hang on a minute. What was that noise?

0:08:040:08:08

Mr Tumble!

0:08:080:08:11

That's right, it was Mr Tumble.

0:08:110:08:14

It's time for a Tumble Tale.

0:08:140:08:17

So let's all call for him as loud as we can, after three,

0:08:170:08:21

and why don't you join in, too? Are you ready?

0:08:210:08:24

-One, two, three.

-ALL: Mr Tumble!

0:08:240:08:29

HYYYYYY!

0:08:360:08:37

Mr Tumble, are you there?

0:08:380:08:41

HYYYYYY!

0:08:410:08:43

Yes!

0:08:430:08:45

Oh, there you are.

0:08:450:08:46

HE SIGHS

0:08:460:08:48

Why are you sad, Mr Tumble?

0:08:480:08:50

Well, I'm just not tall enough.

0:08:500:08:54

Do you want to be as tall as the giraffe?

0:08:550:08:59

Yes.

0:08:590:09:00

I want to be as tall as the giraffe.

0:09:000:09:04

-Have you stretched yourself up as tall as you can?

-Um...

0:09:040:09:10

No. Wait.

0:09:110:09:14

EEEEEE!

0:09:140:09:15

NNNNNN!

0:09:160:09:18

NNNNNN!

0:09:180:09:20

HE SIGHS

0:09:220:09:23

Oh, I don't...

0:09:240:09:25

Ooh, look.

0:09:250:09:28

It's Lord Tumble.

0:09:280:09:31

Have you had a good idea, Mr Tumble?

0:09:310:09:33

Yes.

0:09:330:09:35

HE LAUGHS

0:09:350:09:37

Ahh!

0:09:410:09:43

Well, that tea was delicious, but I'm afraid it's time to go.

0:09:430:09:48

I'll see you later.

0:09:490:09:51

Goodbye.

0:09:510:09:53

Goodbye, Lord Tumble!

0:09:540:09:55

HE LAUGHS

0:09:560:09:59

HIP!

0:10:030:10:04

Oh, dear, Mr Tumble. You're still a bit too short.

0:10:060:10:11

Eh?

0:10:110:10:12

HE SIGHS

0:10:130:10:15

Never mind. It was a good idea.

0:10:150:10:17

Well...

0:10:170:10:19

Ooh!

0:10:190:10:21

Ooh, look! It's a flower.

0:10:210:10:24

Have you had another good idea, Mr Tumble?

0:10:240:10:27

Yes. Wait.

0:10:270:10:29

HE SNIFFS

0:10:310:10:32

Ah!

0:10:320:10:33

HE COUGHS

0:10:330:10:34

-Wow, now the hat's even taller. Well done.

-Ah, thank you!

0:10:390:10:46

Mr Tumble, you're still not tall enough.

0:10:490:10:52

HE SIGHS

0:10:520:10:54

Mr Tumble, Grandad Tumble is very good at growing things, isn't he?

0:10:540:11:00

Ooh, yes!

0:11:000:11:02

HE LAUGHS

0:11:020:11:03

Good idea.

0:11:030:11:05

Right. Ooh, look!

0:11:150:11:18

-What's that?

-Ooh. This is Grandad Tumble's watering can.

0:11:200:11:26

-Oh, yes - he waters his flowers with it to help them grow.

-Yes, I know!

0:11:260:11:31

A-ha! Wait.

0:11:310:11:35

Huh?

0:11:430:11:44

I don't think it's working.

0:11:440:11:47

Oh, er... Wait.

0:11:470:11:50

I'll just have a look at...

0:11:500:11:52

HE SPLUTTERS

0:11:520:11:54

Right. Now we have to wait.

0:11:570:12:00

-Are you starting to grow, Mr Tumble?

-Um...

0:12:030:12:08

No.

0:12:080:12:09

Ooh, wait. Ha-ha.

0:12:090:12:13

HE GIGGLES

0:12:140:12:16

What's the matter?

0:12:190:12:20

The water is tickling my toes!

0:12:200:12:24

Oh, Mr Tumble, you are funny! Shall we go and see how tall you are now?

0:12:240:12:30

Ooh, yes. Come on.

0:12:300:12:33

HE LAUGHS

0:12:390:12:41

Oh!

0:12:410:12:43

You HAVE grown taller, Mr Tumble.

0:12:430:12:45

Yes. I'm too tall to go inside my house.

0:12:450:12:50

Uh!

0:12:500:12:51

-Don't you want to be taller any more?

-No.

0:12:510:12:55

I want to be small enough

0:12:550:12:58

to go inside my house again.

0:12:580:13:00

Try taking the hat off.

0:13:000:13:03

Ooh! Good idea.

0:13:040:13:06

Ah, that is better!

0:13:100:13:13

Thank you.

0:13:130:13:15

That's OK.

0:13:150:13:16

Oh, Mr Tumble?

0:13:160:13:19

Yes?

0:13:200:13:22

-You'll give Lord Tumble his hat back, won't you?

-Yes.

0:13:220:13:27

HE SNIFFS

0:13:270:13:28

Bye!

0:13:320:13:33

HE LAUGHS

0:13:330:13:35

Mr Tumble is...funny.

0:13:350:13:38

Hey, Mr Tumble makes us...laugh.

0:13:390:13:44

Guys, come on in. Now, let's remember what we've done today.

0:13:440:13:48

We've had a fantastic time. What have we done?

0:13:480:13:51

Stilts.

0:13:510:13:53

Yes, we've done some stilt-walking.

0:13:530:13:55

-What else?

-Tight wire!

0:13:550:13:57

Right, we've been on the tight wire. What else?

0:13:570:14:01

-What were we spinning earlier?

-Plates!

0:14:010:14:03

That's right, we were spinning plates.

0:14:030:14:07

But you know what? There is one more thing to do.

0:14:070:14:12

HE LAUGHS

0:14:120:14:13

Mr Tumble's got one more surprise for us.

0:14:130:14:16

-So let's look inside Mr Tumble's...

-..spotty bag!

0:14:160:14:20

Yes, good idea, Jake. OK.

0:14:200:14:22

Ooh, look. It's Tumble Tap.

0:14:220:14:25

-Would you like to tap the spot, Luke?

-BELLS CHIME

0:14:250:14:28

OK. Good boy. What's that?

0:14:280:14:31

-Harness!

-That's right, it is a harness.

0:14:310:14:34

Where's the harness? Is it here? When you see it, wave or cheer.

0:14:370:14:42

THEY CHEER

0:14:430:14:45

Well done, Jake. Well done, Luke. You found the harness.

0:14:450:14:50

Can you see the harness?

0:14:500:14:51

Yes, there's the harness.

0:14:510:14:53

It's time to sign.

0:14:550:14:57

Ah, look.

0:14:580:15:00

Harness.

0:15:000:15:02

You sign.

0:15:030:15:05

Harness.

0:15:050:15:06

Harness.

0:15:080:15:10

Brilliant, Radiya.

0:15:100:15:12

Harness. Harness.

0:15:140:15:16

Great signing, Georgia.

0:15:160:15:18

Well, we're already excited here

0:15:200:15:23

-because Jake is just about to go up high in a

-harness.

0:15:230:15:30

And Jake is going to fly like a bird. Isn't that great, eh?

0:15:300:15:36

-Jake, how are you feeling? Are you feeling happy?

-Wonderful!

0:15:360:15:42

Ooh, wonderful! Let's go over here and watch Jake fly.

0:15:420:15:48

That is it. Sit nice and still.

0:15:480:15:51

-Good luck.

-Good luck!

0:15:520:15:55

Jake's harness is clipped on to a long rope that lifts him up

0:15:550:16:00

and up, and up, high into the air.

0:16:000:16:03

Whoa, there he goes!

0:16:030:16:06

You're very clever, Jake!

0:16:090:16:12

Jake is pretending to be a bird.

0:16:130:16:17

-Fly like a bird! Like all the other birds in the world.

-Fly like a bird.

0:16:170:16:22

That's right, he is. He's flying like a bird. Down he comes.

0:16:220:16:27

-Whee!

-Whoop! Ready?

0:16:270:16:29

Yay! Well done, Jake.

0:16:290:16:34

That was fantastic. You were so clever.

0:16:340:16:40

-How did it feel?

-Good.

-Yeah?

-Wonderful.

-Excellent stuff.

0:16:400:16:45

Well, we've had a fantastic day here.

0:16:470:16:50

I have been so amazed at Jake going up high in the sky like a bird

0:16:500:16:55

-in his

-harness.

0:16:550:16:57

And I was amazed with you, Luke.

0:16:570:17:00

-Wow, you went on the...

-..tight wire!

0:17:000:17:03

-That's right, the

-tight wire.

-You two could be in the circus.

0:17:030:17:08

-What do you think?

-Yay!

-Ha-ha!

0:17:080:17:11

Well, you know what? It is time to send the spotty bag back to...

0:17:110:17:17

-ALL: Mr Tumble!

-So are you ready?

-Yes.

-OK. Here we go.

0:17:170:17:24

Take your finger, and touch your nose.

0:17:240:17:27

Using a sign language called Makaton, Something Special helps its audience learn how to communicate, as well as develop their language in a fun and exciting way. Justin Fletcher presents songs, rhymes and visual humour, all centred around themes that are familiar to young children.

Justin is practising circus skills with his friends Jake and Luke. The boys show him how they walk on the tightwire and swing through the air! Justin gets a lot taller when he learns how to walk on stilts. Mr Tumble wants to grow taller too - but he doesn't have any stilts.
