Welcome to Glee Club.

Blaze knocked The Real Deal off the top spot,

but will any of today's groups

make it into the top five and take their place in the live semi-final?

This is Sport Relief Does Glee Club 2012.

And here are your hosts, Sam and Mark.

And welcome to the UK's most ambitious talent search

dedicated to uncovering the best young glee club.

We've auditioned hundreds of hopefuls from across the UK,

some unique and some unbelievable!

And if it's one thing this country has, it's talent!

The top 24 acts have been chosen,

and they'll be putting their own stamp on some popular hits

and giving it their all in front of this studio audience.

They'll need to sing their hearts out as only one act can win

and take home the title of Sport Relief Does Glee Club 2012.

We can't have a show like this without some expert judges.

Unfortunately, our resident judge Sisco cannot be with us today,

so we've drafted in another fabulous expert vocal coach, John Modi.

Let's find out more about him.

John is a celebrity vocal coach

who's worked with artists such as JLS, Leona Lewis and Olly Murs,

and you might recognise him as the vocal coach from the X-Factor.

Are you looking forward to seeing the performances today?

Now, I hope you're all listening carefully

cos this is the important part.

24 groups have made it through to the heats.

Today, three of those acts will battle it out for our experts,

who will be scoring them on vocal ability, creativity and performance.

In the unlikely event of a tie, head judge Carrie will decide who goes through.

The acts with the top five scores from across the heats

will then compete in the live finals,

where it will be up to you at home to vote for your favourite!

And the winners will take home

this fantastic Sport Relief Does Glee Club 2012 trophy!

Right, we've got the stage, three expert judges

and a lively audience.

All we need now are some glee clubs. Let's meet them!

Today's three fantastic glee clubs were selected by our judges

from auditions all over the UK,

and given feedback on areas to work on.

We're Origin8 and we're from south east London. Whoo!

This means a lot to us.

We're glad we're going to be able to appear on this show.

To be able to perform and to do something for such a great cause,

I think it's a good opportunity for all of us.

We're Move On Up from Harrogate. Whoo!

It means a lot to appear on the show, because we love performing.

It'll be good.

To be the only guy in the group's pretty good.

We're Soundwave and we're from the Isle of Wight. Whoo!

Very excited to be appearing on the show.

This is a brilliant experience for us. We're so lucky.

Round 1 - Singing Together.

All group members must sing at the same time.

Points will be deducted for any featured vocals.

Carrie, did the group's personalities come out in that performance?

Oh, my goodness, yes! This is going to be such a hard show to judge.

My goodness! Origin8, there's not one weak link in there.

Every one of you giving it 100%.

When you're dancing, make sure it doesn't affect your vocals,

cos it was losing it slightly in the second half.

Thank you. Nice. John, how did you think our groups did?

Move On Up, very good.

You need just a couple of things on the tuning.

One or two maybe slightly out.

The energy's good. I really like what I'm getting as far as the energy.

I feel like you're enjoying yourselves. Very good.

Soundwave, very good vocal blend.

It sounds like one voice when you're singing,

and because of that, because the blend is so good,

if any of you stay on the lines a little bit longer than the others,

you hear it, it stands out a bit more,

so you need to tighten that up.

But your blend is awesome, like a wall of sound. Very good.

The groups will each perform a different song,

featuring at least one solo vocal.

Yeah, I'm sure you've got all the moves!

I do. In fact, I have invented my own dance move

in aid of Sport Relief. It's called the running chicken.

Let's see what the judges thought. David, what did you think?

Let me start from the last sound we heard, Soundwave.

I loved the arrangement.

I felt perhaps the arrangement was a little too complex

and there wasn't enough space for soloing.

With you guys, again, I didn't feel that the solos

were as strong as the group singing when you were together.

And that is something you are really going to have to work through.

OK.

John, did any of the groups stand out for you?

Potentially, it would be Origin8 as far as the, just the style,

but really, the arrangements were so clever and lovely,

but you almost wanted to hear the arrangements more than anything else

and the solos get overshadowed. But yeah, keep going!

But, with 90 points available to each group in Round 3,

it could all change!

OK, now, Round 3 is the last chance for our groups

to deliver a stand-out performance.

They need to score as many points as they can to secure

a top spot on the Glee Club leaderboard.

Remember, only the top five from the heats

will go through to the live finals.

OK, Mr D, can you please do the honours

The groups will have to give it their all in this,

their final chance to build those all-important points.

It's all about having fun for this glee club, but they hope

singing Survivor by Destiny's Child will score them extra points.

How long did it take you to come up with that?

Oh, it took us ages and ages and ages to get everything right,

everything together. But we did it and we're here.

I've got to say, girls,

that song obviously was originally done by Adele, who is a soloist,

how difficult was that to turn it into a group performance?

It was quite difficult, but we all just chipped in a bit

with our own harmonies, improvised, and it worked in the end.

Definitely, it sounded great.

-Oh, my gosh!

It would mean so much for us to get through.

We have worked so hard, it was unbelievable.

Carrie, did you expect to see such quality?

No, I really didn't,

I think this is just such a brilliant group of people.

Origin8, we asked you to focus on your choreography,

we felt at audition level, you weren't strong on your choreography.

You delivered a committed performance, both vocally

and choreographically, movements were just perfect for the song,

brilliant. Our middle group here, Move On Up,

a real musical theatre performance,

which is what you are, true to yourselves.

There is a really nice glee club feel about you, which I love.

Our final group, Soundwave, there were a few problems with

being out of tune at the beginning, in the wrong key.

But you of all people on this stage,

you have the best inner life, your faces

are just alive, which is beautiful to watch.
