I'm Thalia and welcome to Style Download. | 0:21:03 | 0:21:06
Now, this week, I've been sent on my coolest mission yet. I'm planning a water fight. | 0:21:06 | 0:21:11
I'm Mack, I'm 11. | 0:21:11 | 0:21:13
I like street dancing, | 0:21:13 | 0:21:15
football, | 0:21:15 | 0:21:18
and most of all, water fights. | 0:21:18 | 0:21:20
Something tells me I'm going to be getting a little bit wet today, | 0:21:20 | 0:21:23
so I brought this just in case. Let's go and surprise him. | 0:21:23 | 0:21:27
-Hi, I'm Thalia from Friday Download. -Oh! | 0:21:36 | 0:21:40
-Are you surprised to see me? -Yeah! -Can I come in and explain why I am here? -Yeah. | 0:21:40 | 0:21:45
So Mack, tell me a bit about yourself. | 0:21:47 | 0:21:49
Well, I'm 11. I live with my mum and dad and two brothers. | 0:21:49 | 0:21:53
So, why do you need a Style Download? | 0:21:53 | 0:21:55
Well, I want all my friends to get drenched, cos they're all really competitive. | 0:21:55 | 0:21:59
I think we should be able to help. Have you got a water gun? | 0:21:59 | 0:22:01
-Yes, I do. -Great start. | 0:22:01 | 0:22:03
Now, water fights aren't all about the guns. | 0:22:03 | 0:22:06
I've done my research and I've come up with some great ways that we can get your friends really wet. | 0:22:06 | 0:22:11
Now, I need you to find some old sponge and some string as fast as you can. Go! | 0:22:11 | 0:22:16
-Got them. -Great, that's everything we need. | 0:22:25 | 0:22:28
-So now, I'm going to show you how to make sponge soakers. -Cool. | 0:22:28 | 0:22:31
First, we're going to cut them into strips. | 0:22:31 | 0:22:34
-There we have it. Sponge soakers. Ready to dunk in water and throw out your opponent. -Nice. | 0:22:47 | 0:22:52
Next, something to launch them with. The splatterpult. Follow me. | 0:22:52 | 0:22:56
OK, so you're in a water fight | 0:22:59 | 0:23:01
but the other team are too far away to throw a water bomb at. | 0:23:01 | 0:23:04
-What do you do? -I don't know. -You make a splatterpult, of course. | 0:23:04 | 0:23:08
What we need is one of these and some elastic like this. Let me show you. | 0:23:08 | 0:23:13
There we go. One splatterpult to launch your water bombs in. | 0:23:22 | 0:23:26
There's one more thing to think about - the ammo. To the garden. | 0:23:26 | 0:23:29
Now, in a water fight you always run out of water. | 0:23:32 | 0:23:35
So it's really important to keep a refill. | 0:23:35 | 0:23:38
-Now, you don't want all of your friends finding them, do you? -No. | 0:23:38 | 0:23:41
-So, where would be a good place? -Down there. | 0:23:41 | 0:23:43
DOORBELL RINGS | 0:23:45 | 0:23:47
I think your friends have arrived. Why don't you go get the door | 0:23:47 | 0:23:50
-and I'll carry on hiding the water, OK? -OK. | 0:23:50 | 0:23:52
-Hi, Mack! -Want to come in? -Yes, please. | 0:23:58 | 0:24:02
-Hi, guys. -Hi. | 0:24:02 | 0:24:04
-Who's ready for a water fight. -Me! -Brill. | 0:24:04 | 0:24:07
Team A over here and Team B over there. | 0:24:07 | 0:24:10
Go! | 0:24:13 | 0:24:15 | |
SCREAMING | 0:24:15 | 0:24:18
To organise your own water fight, just find a bunch of friends | 0:24:18 | 0:24:22
and a water pistol for as little as a few pounds. | 0:24:22 | 0:24:24
Some water balloons are a good idea too. | 0:24:24 | 0:24:26
But if you don't have either, don't panic. There's loads of other things you can use. | 0:24:26 | 0:24:30
Step one, to make your own sponge soakers, you'll need some sponges and some string. | 0:24:30 | 0:24:36
Cut the sponge into eight thin strips and place on top of each other right building bricks. | 0:24:36 | 0:24:40
Three wide and too high. Then tie in the middle with string. | 0:24:40 | 0:24:44
Dunk in water at the start of a game and then throw out your opponent for a maximum soaking. | 0:24:44 | 0:24:50
Step two, to make your splatterpult launcher, | 0:24:50 | 0:24:52
you'll need some elastic and a basket, or a plastic sieve. | 0:24:52 | 0:24:56
Cut the elastic into four long strips | 0:24:56 | 0:24:58
and tie to the edges of the basket, like so. | 0:24:58 | 0:25:00
Place your your water bomb or sponge soaker in the basket | 0:25:00 | 0:25:04
and ask to have your friends to hold the elastic | 0:25:04 | 0:25:06
while you stretch back and launch at your enemy. | 0:25:06 | 0:25:08
Perfect for when they're out of range. | 0:25:08 | 0:25:11
You can reach them, but they can't wait you. | 0:25:11 | 0:25:13
Step three, survival tips. | 0:25:13 | 0:25:15
Fill a pile of water balloons before the game. | 0:25:15 | 0:25:18
Store in a bucket but add a little water first. | 0:25:18 | 0:25:21
This prevents them from bursting. Never drop on grass or they'll burst. | 0:25:21 | 0:25:25
If someone throws one at you, try catching it with arms outstretched. | 0:25:25 | 0:25:29
Then bring them into your body as you catch it. | 0:25:29 | 0:25:31
This should stop it from bursting. | 0:25:31 | 0:25:33
Fill spare water bottles beforehand, and hide outside when you need a refill. | 0:25:33 | 0:25:38
The rules are, if you get wet, you're out of the game. | 0:25:38 | 0:25:41
And whichever team has the last dry person, wins. | 0:25:41 | 0:25:44
Always play outside and most importantly, | 0:25:44 | 0:25:47
wear clothes that you don't mind getting wet. | 0:25:47 | 0:25:49
Well, I might be soaking wet, but I had a great day. | 0:25:49 | 0:25:52
So that's Style Download complete. | 0:25:52 | 0:25:55
Oh! I'm going to get you! | 0:25:55 | 0:25:57
SCREAMING | 0:25:57 | 0:26:00 |
