Hi, guys, I'm Georgia, and welcome to Style Download.

Hi, I'm Naomi, 10 years old, and I live here with my mum and dad.

I like fashion, I like going out to parties, and I like styling things.

She's always putting different clothes together,

always trying to style me and her family.

-Hi, Naomi!

It's nice to meet you, you look a bit surprised.

-Can I come in and explain?

-Yeah.

So, Naomi, you're probably wondering why I'm here.

First of all, tell me a bit about yourself.

Well, my favourite colour is red, and I love swimming and acting,

and I do a bit of dancing at the weekend.

So, you've got a party coming up and you need a bit of help

with standing out from your friends?

Yeah, cos my end of year party, the theme is Oscar night,

and dress to impress.

But last year, at my Christmas party,

my friend wore the exact same dress as me.

That's not what you want, is it? Goodness!

Well, I reckon I could probably help you with

the standing out from your friends thing, and the good news is

we can use stuff that you already own, you just don't know it yet.

-So, shall we go upstairs and I'll explain a bit more?

-Yeah.

Great, let's go.

OK, Naomi, the first thing we need to do is pick an outfit

that we're sure none of your friends are going to wear.

OK, so first of all, we know that the theme is kind of dressy,

quite glamorous, so we can add a bit of bling

to whatever you decide to wear.

So, how about you pick out your 10 favourite items from your wardrobe.

-Ready?

-Yeah.

-Off you go.

OK, so here are your 10 favourite outfits,

what do you think is your favourite from all of these?

-Well, I like all of them, but I really like this one.

-You know what?

I have to agree with you, this one is very, very pretty.

And, also, what we could do is maybe put this shrug with it,

then you can have the sequins, it glams it up a little bit.

All we really need now is to find your favourite handbag that

you think would go with this,

and your favourite accessories from around the house, OK? OK.

-You ready?

-Yeah.

-Off you go.

Hey, great, so it looks like you've got a lot of accessories.

-Do you want to show me what you have?

-I've got a hair band...

-Great.

-..a brooch and some clips.

-Ooh, nice, very pretty.

This is fantastic.

What you can do is, when you're at your party,

if you put all your accessories in your bag,

and then if someone else is wearing the same thing as you, you then

just grab an accessory, put it on, completely change your outfit.

If that doesn't work, however, I've got one final tip for you,

so follow me.

OK, Naomi, a way to make your outfit really stand out is to customise it.

We've got a phone case here, also some stuff to decorate it with.

We know it's kind of Hollywood themed, so I was thinking we could

maybe decorate it like that style,

but have you got anything, like ideas?

-Yeah, I've got an idea.

-Wonderful, let's go.

I'm thinking that's looking very nice,

we'll just wait for the glue to dry.

And then I thought, cos it's winter and stuff,

-you'll be wearing tights, right?

-Yeah.

OK, so what we'll do is,

I thought we could customise a pair of tights, as well.

If we cut some card in half first off, because we don't want

the glue when we're sticking it to go through to the other side.

Then we'll just fold the corners over so the tights don't ladder,

and then we can stick away. Ready to go?

-Yeah.

-Brill, let's go.

Whether you've got a Christmas party coming up,

or just gathering with friends, there's always the chance

you might turn up in the same outfit as somebody else.

Although it's not the end of the world,

it can be avoided in a few simple steps.

Step one - picking your outfit.

Go for a combination of clothes you usually don't wear.

Not only will you stand out, the chances are no-one else

will have thought of the same combination.

Don't be afraid of mixing and matching.

Step two - accessorising.

Fill a handbag with a selection of accessories

and take it along with you.

If you see someone wearing something similar,

use one of your accessories to make yours stand out.

And the bag itself is an accessory, too, of course.

Step three, customising your look.

Put your own stamp on your outfit to guarantee

you'll be the only one wearing it.

You'll just need some plastic jewels and some child-safe glue.

Add more for a bling effect.

Make a pair of tights your own by sticking diamantes onto them

into the shape of whatever you want.

Try and blend with the rest of your outfit for maximum effect.

When I answered the door, I was just amazed,

really happy and just really surprised.

She's had a wonderful day. She will not forget this.
