Today's den's meant to be hush-hush, remember!

Oh, yeah! Sorry! Sorry!

We've only got sketchy details about today's Dengineer,

because she wants to be a secret agent!

Here's what we've uncovered so far.

11-year-old Sienna is today's Dengineer

and nothing in her home town of Neath escapes her.

I spend a lot of time in school

playing spy games with my friends.

And I'm really into loads of different spy movies and gadgets.

Very interesting!

But this wannabe spy is leading a double life.

My mother wakes me up really early to go to work.

Sienna, come on, we're going to Nana's.

Sienna's mum looks after her by herself and works long hours,

meaning mornings can be chaotic, split between home and Nana's house.

And this is where she stays.

The room at my nan's house is quite boring because all it's got is a bed

and it's got these weird wardrobes that you can't do anything with.

It's somewhere to sleep,

but it's certainly no place to plan your next mission.

Dengineers, I really need your help to build my secret spy den,

but shh! You can't tell anyone!

Lauren, today we're dealing with the most nerve-racking den of all dens.

Sienna's a spy, right, so she wants to be the next James Bond.

She could be watching us right now. We need to be so careful.

Her school is literally right over there

and she's currently doing some cheerleading practice.

Hopefully, she has no idea we're on our way.

No idea! As if she's going to know me and you are here!

We're too good at this. She's never in a million years

going to know that The Dengineers...

Mark, signage.

-Oh, my. Quick.

-Quick, quick, quick, quick, quick!

Luckily for us, the Dengineers team have been more careful

setting up their cameras around Sienna's school.

I can't believe you left the sign on.

-You never told me, did you?

-No, but you should have taken it down!

You should have told me, you're the one who packed the van!

No, I said to do it and then you didn't.

Here come Sienna's cheerleading group.

Smile, girls, you're missing lessons!

Concentrate, the classroom is right over there.

-Seriously, we don't want to get caught.

Sienna and her friends think they're being filmed by a local news team.

Only their teacher knows what's really about to happen.

So, Sienna, we've been playing a little bit of a trick on you today,

because you are actually coming with us to build your dream den.

When I was dancing and when the door opened,

I turned around to have a look and Mark and Lauren were walking in.

Hello!

I was really excited, I'm speechless.

I talk all the time, it's never like me to be speechless.

Our first stop could only be the Dengineers mobile HQ,

where every dream den starts to become a reality.

Sienna, let's get some of your amazing ideas downloaded

onto this computer, shall we?

Come and have a look.

Cos it's like a spy den, I wanted different, like, hidden bits

so it looks like a normal room but it's not.

Cos we've got to basically throw them off the scent, haven't we?

So what first do you need if you're a spy?

You need cool gadgets, CCTV cameras...

-So that picture right there is what we need?

-Yeah.

-Yeah?

Something like this, like loads of graffiti and glitter

and loads of different patterns.

I wanted something sort of like this

where you had, like, a secret number and a secret tag.

-Leopard print?

-Yeah!

So who are you keeping this den secret from?

My mother, my nan and my auntie!

-Sorry, Nan. Nan's banned!

-Yeah!

Sienna's come up with a brilliant idea to create two dens in one...

..a glitzy, girlie bedroom which hides a hidden techy spy space

packed with gadgets she can use to run her secret missions.

This information is completely classified.

-Nothing leaves this room, OK?

Right, let's find out which lucky room in Nan's house

is about to get the Dengineers treatment.

So, Sienna, this is the room that you stay in when you come

-and stay at your nana's, is that right?

-Yes.

OK, but it's going to be going through quite a few changes

over the next few days.

Nana, Mum, are you sure that we can do whatever we like in this room?

Well, as long as she leaves the windows and the walls, I'm happy!

Ah, look at that, you lucky, lucky girl.

So for now, guys, I'm going to have to kick you out, so say goodbye!

the tranquillity of Neath will be broken by Dengineers at work.

I'll go straight downstairs with this.

We're stripping back Sienna's plain bedroom to an empty shell,

ready for phase one of the den to begin.

The decorators can start the makeover,

which means a vibrant new wall colour...

..and a fantastic animal print pattern

that we've had made into a unique wallpaper...

That's it, yeah! Oh, way to go!

..just for Sienna!

I was a bit worried but it's bit late for that now, though, innit?

After I've heard all the knocking about going on there,

but, no, I'm sure that Sienna will come through!

I'm just glad it's not my house!

Once the paper's up, the next job on the list is way more fun!

OK, nice wardrobe, but taking up quite a lot of room.

So, part one of Sienna's den is coming along nicely.

We have got the animal print up on the wall.

We have got loads of funky colours.

However, the Dengineers are not in the business of bedroom makeovers.

Oh, no, we need this room to double up as a spy den

and I think that corner in particular

is going to be particularly important.

So I think it's time we called in our super techy designer.

There's only one person who can handle Sienna's sleuth themed den

and it's Dee.

She's a digital genius who designed a game

that teaches kids how to code.

Dee's awesome techy ideas are sure to bring this spy space to life.

So, I looked at your mood board and it was great!

So we'll take the theme of having a cool bedroom where everyone just

walks in and you know, it's a normal room, but we know that actually

there's going to be some really cool secret spy gadgets in here!

Basically, what we're after is something where

nothing is as is seems, do you know what I mean?

Nothing, like this wall,

who knows, this wall is not what it seems.

-And that plank of wood!

-This plank of wood, not what it,

this carpet, not, this paintbrush, who knows? Not what...

Lauren, we get it!

Yep. It's not what it seems.

Dee's brief is to create two rooms in one -

a funky, modern bedroom,

which then converts into a secret spy space from where

Sienna can mastermind her missions.

Like any good spy, the den must be a master of disguise,

so we should expect hidden panels and moving furniture,

which hide an assortment of super sleuth gadgets.

Fresh from the workshop, the Dengineers team are bringing in

what looks like a normal bookshelf and mirror.

but it's a tight squeeze.

Whoa...

So, what's going to go next?

Careful! Careful! Yeah!

We know there's much more to these bits of wood than meets the eye!

And the carpenters are soon assembling what will become

Sienna's hidden room.

While the team get on with the joinery,

I've invited Sienna to join me on a very special research mission.

Sienna's spy den is looking great.

She's been working so, so hard, so I've organised my own secret

surprise, just for Sienna, to get her right into the spy zone.

Sienna, how are ya?

-Good!

-You all right?

-Yeah!

I'm about to introduce you to a guy who knows what it's

all about being involved in a secret mission, a top spy!

-Shall we meet him?

-Yeah!

Come on, let's do it.

Sienna, this is Harry, a former MI6 officer. Harry, meet Sienna!

-I understand you want to be a spy, is that right?

-Yeah!

What makes you think you'd be a good spy?

Cos...I like to find out what's going on.

Well, today, I'm going to give you some spy training.

Then, when you've had that training, I'm going

to send you out on an exercise that real spies do

in the field to see whether you've got what it takes to be a spy.

Now before you can do that, you and Mark both need to agree a spy name.

Have you got anything in mind?

-Lucy Leopard!

-Mark?

-Brian Ballad!

OK, those will work fine. Let's get started on your training.

Harry's got two very important spy communication skills to teach us.

So, Lucy, spies always communicate in code.

It's so that if the enemy get hold of your messages, they won't

know what they say and they won't find out who your agents are.

And nearly all codes are a variation on this ingeniously simple idea.

And as you can see every letter has a different symbol.

So you write your message in symbols,

so the letter A for instance would look like that.

If you wanted to write the letter I, you'd do the square

-cos I comes in the middle. Do you see how it works?

-Yeah!

And it's really, really simple.

Next, no spy mission could ever succeed

without genius hiding places.

When somebody comes to your den, OK, they can't just see your spy stuff

lying around so you're going to have to use caches.

You're going to have to use hiding places and these should look

just like an ordinary thing, you shouldn't know what they are.

Take a hardback book and open it up.

-Have you ever noticed there's a gap down the spine?

-Yeah.

Down the back of it, yeah?

A good place to put thin pieces of paper and things like that!

When you go back to your den, find those hiding places.

Great advice, Harry. Let's go, let's put it to the test.

OK, Lucy, it's time for your spy test.

These two items were left here.

You have to work out exactly how these two items are related

and that's going to lead you to another clue. Away you go!

Can Sienna...sorry, agent Lucy...

Inside that dossier is a summary of all the training you've had,

but also a few extra spy tips that only we spies know

and we don't share with anybody else.

It was amazing meeting a real spy.

This is really going to take my spy den to the next level.

Sienna made an excellent spy pupil and I wouldn't be at all

surprised if we didn't see her being a spy at some stage in the future.

While those two wannabe James Bonds have been solving mysteries,

the Dengineers team have been making progress over at the den.

The colour scheme's coming together and the carpet's going down to

make this a bedroom all of Sienna's friends will be envious of.

Whilst that's all going on, I'm going to grab the chance

to find out what makes Sienna our most mysterious Dengineer to date.

So, Liz you're Sienna's nana and we're making the den in your house.

Why's that?

But basically,

although she lives with her mum, she spends a lot more time here.

We promised her a room of her own and, well, time

and finances, you know, we haven't been able to do it.

And so, fortunately, now it's sort of all...all being done for her.

And you know, of course, that the den is going to be a spy den.

How does that fit in with Sienna's personality?

She's just very...inquisitive is the right word!

She'll ask me things I can't even answer!

I keep saying she spends a lot of time with adults

and sometimes we're boring for her, you know?

So she's got somewhere to escape to now, hasn't she?

'Upstairs, the Dengineers are working flat out to prepare this

'normal bedroom for its super spy additions.

'Before everyone downs tools for the day,

'designer Dee wants to let me into a highly classified den secret...'

So, Dee, I can obviously see that there is a den here somewhere,

but I've literally... I have no idea how I get into this.

How does it work?

OK, so what the guys have done, they've created this

-mechanism where you can basically slide this across.

-Amazing!

I love it!

-And here's a secret space!

-This is so, so cool.

If you were on the outside looking in at this, there is

no way that you would think a hi-tech den is going to be

in this space.

Nope, but this is where all of it will be!

'And tomorrow, we'll find out exactly what sort of tech Dee is

'talking about!

'It's day three at Sienna's top-secret den build

'and all the talk is of what the den may contain.'

Well, all I know is they've knocked all the wardrobes out,

my blinds have gone.

My nice light I bought for Sienna's room has gone.

I'm getting very... inquisitive myself now.

'Well, now we know where Sienna gets her observation skills!

'At last, Dee and the design team

'can get to work on the main den itself...

'with Sienna's awesome spy logo at its heart.

'While the guys motor on...

'Dee wants Sienna's help with an awesome upcycle,

'which turns an everyday picture into an invisible message board.'

Something all spies need is a way of communicating with their spy

friends, so we've made this picture with your logo on it.

And we're going to turn this into a secret message board.

So, we've got some sticky-back plastic

and we're going to peel this off and stick it over the picture frame.

'The sticky-backed plastic creates an invisible writing surface.'

Awesome!

And we've got a special pen, so you can write anything you like.

Make sure it's big.

'Hmm...I wonder what agent Lucy Leopard is writing?'

Cool! And then we have this torch!

This is the magic bit...and we press that and if you go over it...

'H92Y...mysterious!'

Ooh, I can't wait to show my friends this!

Yeah, so this torch will transform any invisible message

into, like, completely clear so all of your spy friends can read it.

'And when the message has been picked up...'

Screw it up and no-one will have a clue what you wrote.

'Dee, that's awesome!

'Up in the den there are plenty more features being added

'that are also not what they first seem.'

-Hey, Andy!

-Oh, hiya!

OK, so this goes just here!

-Oh, amazing!

'Inside the den,

'we're adding personalised bolts to give the room a cool metallic look.

'While the mystery and excitement continues to build...

'Mark...and his phone are on hand with an awesome den hack.'

You know how everybody's taking selfies at the moment?

Yeah, I've been partial to some myself!

But the most annoying thing ever is when something amazing's

going on and you haven't got selfie stick around!

Well, this is a selfie stick hack!

All you need is a phone, obviously!

An umbrella with a curved handle

and two elastic bands!

Double the first elastic band

around the middle of your phone.

Make sure you don't cover the camera!

And then secure onto the umbrella handle.

Then attach the second band to make sure it's all held securely.

Set the timer...and then snap away.

And that is my selfie stick hack.

Or, if you're a budding spy, you can always use it to look round

corners and see what someone's getting up too!

Hey, Lauren, what you doing?

It's one day before the big reveal

and can you hear that? DRILLING

That is the noise of some men very hard at work in there to get

Sienna's den ready.

So I thought I would offer my services, go and help a little bit.

Come on, let's see what we can do. All right, guys?

-So I've been having a think...

-Right, oh, right, yeah.

'It's reveal day in Sienna's ultra techy spy den.

'And that means she's not allowed to see it until designer Dee's ready.

'The redecoration and the awesome transforming furniture is

'almost done, so now it's all about the gadgets.

'The pressure is on Dee to make sure Sienna's den is spec-ed up

'to the max.'

We have this spy cam, you can put it anywhere in the house

and through Wi-Fi you can control it using your tablet device.

And you just keep track of everything that's going on.

Plus, it has a speaker so you can let people know you're watching.

And we've got glasses, so spy glasses that just look completely

normal when you put them on and you can take pictures

and keep track of your enemies as you're walking down the street.

'Looking good, Dee.

'And when those enemies loom into view, Sienna

'and her fellow agents stay in touch

'using an awesome two-way radio system.'

This has got to be my favourite.

It's a very cool drone, which you can just make fly

out of your window like this.

'Nice!

'This bad boy is controlled by a smartphone and can fly up

'to 20m away to give you eagle-eyed snaps of your enemies.

'Loving your work, Dee.

'Meanwhile, up in the den, there are just two hours to go

'and everything's coming together nicely.'

Look at that!

'Dee's fitting her gadgets into their den hideaway...

'..and the spy station is stocked with all the dossiers

'and secret pens any spy could ever need.'

'Sienna's plain functional bedroom has been totally

'transformed by the Dengineers team.

'But the den's centrepiece is brilliantly hidden away

'behind a sliding panel...

'inside which lurks a magical spy gadget lair.

'I think Sienna's going to love it.'

-Come on, shall we call her in?

-Yeah.

Looks a little bit different, right?

Yeah. Amazing.

It looks like an amazing girlie beautiful bedroom, doesn't it?

-Yeah.

-Well, also there's a flipside to it and we know that, don't we?

-Yeah.

-Shall we see the den? Right.

When you want this up, you don't want your bed on show...

And then this is going to come down like this.

Because now this bed is incognito.

Time to hand control of this den to Sienna.

Wow! When I walked into the den,

I thought, "Oh, my gosh, I'm going to be a real spy."

So this is your secret spy cupboard.

There are walkie-talkies and spy glasses

and a secret hearing device, which you can press against walls

and hear anyone from the other side of the wall.

Wow, this is awesome.

And every good spy needs a good costume.

-Yeah.

-You've got it.

I feel really happy.

-Is it what you were imagining?

-Yeah, it's more than I imagined.

It's not finished yet, cos there's something else secret.

-Come and look at this.

-You're going to love this bit.

-So you've got all your documents,

you've got your secret spy pen right up there.

It's amazing.

Sienna's spy HQ is a treasure trove of smart surveillance tools,

spy gadgets and costumes all personalised with her own

unique logo.

She can run hidden missions from her transforming desk,

while keeping an eye on those pesky villains.

But, most important of all,

no-one comes in without the boss's permission.

And what the boss says, goes.

This den is done!

Yes! There's only one thing left to do.

Let's get Mum, Gran and Dad in, yeah?

-Wow!

-Welcome.

Oh, that's amazing.

When my nan walked in, I think she was just about to cry cos

she had tears in her eyes.

-Nana, are you upset?

-I'm shocked! I'm shocked.

No, I don't think she expected that room to look like that.

-It's like Dr Who's TARDIS!

Oh, my goodness!

She's got a camera outside her room so she can see who's coming.

-That is fantastic.
