Today we're on the beach in New Brighton in the Wirral

for a seaside spectacular.

We'll be meeting some Let's Goers who tell us what

it's like to live on an island.

I'll be making rainbow sandcastles in this week's quick trick

and Andy and Rebecca are here too for

a special super-sized showdown on the beach.

-Hello. I'm Kirsten.

And this is Mum and Dad.

And we live on this island.

THEY GIGGLE

We have to wake up very early to get ready for school.

-Mornings are really busy in our house.

-Thanks, Dad.

We're always rushing around.

Hurry up, you'll be late for school.

Our friends Catriona and James also come to school with us.

But before we go to school we have to do something very different.

Come with us and we'll show you.

We have to get on the boat.

It's a real fun way to get to school

but sometimes it can be a bit bumpy.

Living on an island makes it a bit tricky getting out and about.

There used to be a school here but now children who live on

the island have to go to school on the mainland because it closed.

We're not on the boat for long. We always get to school on time.

See you after school.

At the end of the day, we have to catch the boat back home.

But if we need any shopping,

we have to get it before we go back to the island

because there's no shops on the island.

What did we need to get today?

Milk, toothpaste, and ham for my sandwich.

On the way home, the boat is really busy.

There are even dogs on the boat today.

It's not long before we're home again.

We love living on an island because there's so much stuff to do.

When we're not at school, we like to visit our granny, Cathy, and

our grandad, Arthur, who live on the island too.

Cow! Ow!

They have a farm with lots of animals.

We help give the cows some food

and we call the sheep to feed them too.

Hey! Giddy-iddy-iddy!

Here, Duckie.

I like the ducks that live here too. Duckie.

There are lighthouses on the island as well.

They have bright lights at the top and help to warn boats

if they are near danger.

Because we live on an island, there is lots of beaches to visit.

Today we're helping to bag the bruck.

Bruck is rubbish that washes up on the beach.

Bruck can be big or small.

We do this every year because it's good to keep the beach clean

and tidy, so that we can all enjoy it.

Living on the island is so much fun.

Meet brave Let's Goer three-year-old Winnie.

This is six-year-old Shayan who has made a super rainbow salad in a jar.

They met the Olympic gymnast Louis Smith, who won a silver medal.

get to your stations whilst I introduce the two teams.

On the red team we have John, Ben, Alysia and Leighton.

The aim of the game is to collect four puzzle pieces

like this and put them together to make a picture.

These puzzle pieces could be hidden anywhere along the obstacle course.

Let's take a look at what you've got to tackle.

The first step is to slide down Lizzie's slippery slide.

Search for the puzzle piece in the giant inflatable maze.

Next, the wriggly, wiggly tunnels.

Our teams have to crawl through our slimy gunge tunnels

to find their puzzle piece. Once they've found it,

-it's on to Andy's big ball-pool bonanza.

This is where they'll find the third piece.

They're hidden under the beach balls - then it's on

-to Joanna's jump and grab.

-Cheers, Andy.

Reach up and pull the ropes to find the puzzle

piece but, beware, the buckets are full of surprises and slime.

The teams need to work together to complete their jigsaw puzzle

and the first team to do this are the winners.

-It's time to play in a big, big way. John, Ruby, are you ready?

-Yes!

OK. Three, two, one, let's go.

Come on, everyone.

Right, I think it's safe to say that we've got sand everywhere.

But do you know where sand comes from?

# You get a little by the lakes but loads on the coast

# Cos erosion from the weather beats the rocks above

# The lack of water makes the soil oh-so-dry

# Soil and rock gets broken up, guess what is left behind

# There are beaches so unique, I've got to speak about and teach ya

# Every beach is different with its own special features

# Beaches in Bermuda are pink, how terrific!

# Sand is super special and it's useful stuff

# Like for sandpaper when you smooth down something rough

# There's so much sand, you couldn't count it if you tried

We're enjoying a walk along the sand with our animal friends.

-So, Amina, what is your donkey called?

-My donkey is called Fifi.

Fifi. And what does Fifi feel like?

Fifi feels very soft and fluffy.

And she is almost as cuddly as a toy.

-Alfie, what's your donkey called?

-He's called Paddy.

What's your favourite thing about Paddy's look?

-That he has funny hooves.

I love making sandcastles.

But have you ever seen a colourful sandcastle?

Well, in today's Quick Trick, I'm going to show you how to make one.

For this Quick Trick, you will need...

some small buckets, food colouring

and a big bucket and spade to build the castle.

First, fill some buckets with sand

and add the food colouring,

one colour in each bucket.

Food colouring can stain so you could wear some old clothes.

Now it's mixing time.

Keep mixing until the sand gets nice and colourful.

When you've got your different coloured sand,

it's time to make your sandcastle.

Put some of the coloured sand in the big bucket.

Shake the bucket to keep the sand even.

Then add a different colour.

And keep adding different coloured sand until your bucket is full.

Now find a flat bit of sand and turn your bucket over.

Let's see if it worked.

Ta-dah! There you have it, a colourful sandcastle.

you could even make a super sandcastle.

We really like going to the seaside and seeing what we can find.

Our teacher, Miss Airie came with us, too.

If you like going to the seaside, here's something you could do.

We found lots of different things to make a big picture.

We're going to have to find much, much more,

so our friends are here to help.

Let's get finding!

I found some seaweed.

I got a plastic bottle.

This rope is really handy too.

There's lots of things to find on the beach, like pebbles,

driftwood, shells and sometimes plastic bottles.

We've got all the things we need to make the picture.

Now it's time to get creative!

The seaweed is working really well in our picture.

The rope and the bottles need to go here.

We're nearly finished.

And once we're done, we'll get shipshape and recycle what we can.

We made a boat out of things that you find at the seaside.

We like to go to the seaside, so we did this.
