Hi, I'm Rio. And I'm Faith.

Today, we're going land yachting. BOTH: Let's go!

Land yachting is a sport where you race in a yacht.

But the big difference is you're on the beach

but not in the sea.

This is Graham.

He is an expert at land yachting

so we're in really safe hands.

Hi. I see you've already got your suits on ready.

Are you excited to go land yachting? Yeah. Yeah! Cool!

These suits are in case you roll out of the yacht

then it doesn't hurt when you hit the sand.

We also need to wear a helmet.

That keeps your head safe. Is that OK? Yeah. Yeah.

Brilliant.

To keep us safe, you always need to wear gloves and goggles

when we're in a land yacht.

Got all the gear on? Time to get in the land yacht.

What do we think? BOTH: Yeah. Let's go.

Graham, does the wheel at the front help steer the yacht?

It does. Unlike a boat or a bike that we have to

steer with our hands, we steer with our feet.

This is the sail to help catch the wind to make the yacht go.

This rope is called the sheet.

It helps pull the sail in and out

which makes the yacht go slower and faster.

OK, now we know what each part of the yacht does,

let's learn how to steer and stop safely, OK?

BOTH: Yeah.

This is so much fun!

It's so fun being in a yacht but not being in the water.

Go!

It's really tricky to turn the yacht when you start.

Turn, turn, turn, turn, turn. Good girl.

With a little practice, it gets easier.

Yeah!

When you turn into the wind, like this, it's called tacking.

Nice!

This makes the yacht go slower.

When you turn the yacht so the wind is behind you,

and you go faster, it's called a gybe.

Yeah, drifting action.

Brilliant. Well done. I think you're ready to go around our course.

Rio, you and Faith will both go round our track and

we'll see who can do it quickest. Are you ready to do that? Yeah!

I love land yachting. It's so fun being on a yacht.

But I'm not in any water.

Oh, that looked amazing. Racing around on land yachts.

I want a go and speaking of racing, I'm going

to show you how to make a fantastic soap boat racer.

For this, you will need a tray or a baking tray filled with

a smidge of water, some scissors, A piece of paper, a cotton bud

and some washing up liquid.

So the first thing we do is take our piece of paper and fold it in half.

Just like that.

Now I'm going to cut out a boat shape.

Just like that. And then we place it on the water.

Now, we take our cotton bud and we dip it into the washing up liquid.

Now watch what happens!

Another excellent experiment done.

But to have a proper race,

I'm going to need some friends to race with. Come on, Let's Goers.

Right, I've got a question for you. Are you ready to race?

Fantastic. I see you've got your paper boats

so let's place them on the water here.

First up, today's stars and stripes design of the American flag

was drawn up by a 17-year-old schoolboy called Robert G Heft

But he was only given a B- for it.

Robert's teacher said if he got the important people

of the United States government to like the flag,

he'd give him a better grade. So Robert did.

And his flag, known as the Star Spangled Banner, is now 60 years old

and has been flown on important buildings all over the world.

We'd definitely give him an A star.

Next, the Spanish national anthem the Marcha Real,

has absolutely no words

and was composed way back in 1761

before electricity was invented.

Lots of songwriters have tried to give Marcha Real words

but none have stuck.

Lyrics were written for the anthem in a competition

before the Beijing Olympics but, after only five days,

it was decided that the anthem should stay lyricless.

Oh, well, at least you'll never forget the words!

And finally, can you guess what Scotland's national animal is?

It's not a stag or a Highland cow.

Not even the Loch Ness Monster.

It's a unicorn.

700 years ago, King Robert of Scotland liked magical

unicorn stories so much, he picked the animal for his country.

Unicorns have been seen on Scottish money ever since

and are still used in royal symbols today.

Not bad for a rainbow-loving animal that isn't real! Fact.

I've got my little friend Elsie here who has a pen pal in Hong Kong.

Elsie, you've got to tell me - what is a pen pal?

It's somebody that you send letters to across the world

and my pen pal's called Laura. That is amazing.

You've got so many little bits and pieces on this wall.

Can you tell me a little about them?

That's Laura and that's Jason, her brother.

And then her mummy made me a puppet.

Wow! That is so nice.

And it has two sides.

You've also got a letter here that you're ready to send

to Laura, haven't you? Yeah. Do want to read it out to us

so we know what you're going to say?

"Dear Laura, I am going on the Let's Go Club.

"I might get a wristband. That might be cool.

"How are you? Love from..." Now I'm going to sign my name.

You're going to sign your name? Of course.

You've got to finish it with your name, don't you?

Do you know what, Elsie?

How's about we send Laura a Let's Go Club wristband? Yeah.

Let's get the wristband in the letter put them in an envelope

ready to send to Laura.

I really like football. Yeah!

And I also like drawing.

But there's one thing I really, really like.

geocaching.

Geocaching is like a treasure hunt.

Instead of a map, you use this

to help find the treasure.

It's a GPS gadget.

It can tell you exactly where you are to the nearest step.

My mum is helping me to look on the geocaching website to find

the area to search for some caches.

When we are geocaching, we call the treasure caches.

Shall we go there? Yes.

Packing the rest of my things.

I'll need toys to swap with other toys,

a pen, paper, snacks and a drink.

Most important, my GPS gadget.

Let's go!

I'm meeting my friend John.

Hi. Hello.

He likes finding treasure too.

The GPS gadget tells us where to go to look for the caches.

This way.

It's fun to go geocaching with a friend.

But make sure you bring along a grown-up.

We have to walk towards the place marked by the icon.

When I think we're close, I stop looking at the GPS gadget

and I use my eyes and hands to hunt the treasure.

When we find a geocache, we write our name on the logbook

so people know that we've found it.

Ooh, we found it. I just opened it.

Here you go, boys.

We love geocaching because we get to find... Treasure.

Now we're going home to tell everyone what we have found.
