0:01:350:01:37

Hello, I'm Freya and I'm nine years old.

0:01:390:01:41

I really like clogdancing with my mum.

0:01:440:01:46

I also like playing sports.

0:01:500:01:52

I've won 30 medals.

0:01:570:01:58

CHEERING

0:01:580:02:00

Boom!

0:02:020:02:03

But there's one thing I love more than anything else -

0:02:030:02:06

brass band music!

0:02:060:02:07

PLAYS: Jingle Bells

0:02:080:02:11

To play the cornet, you have to blow into the mouthpiece.

0:02:120:02:16

To make different sounds, you have to press down the valves, like this.

0:02:160:02:19

However, I don't just practise at home by myself.

0:02:190:02:23

I also get to practise and play with my school friends.

0:02:230:02:27

BAND PLAYS

0:02:270:02:29

I have band rehearsals twice a week every week. It's so much fun.

0:02:310:02:36

Our teachers help us learn new songs

0:02:410:02:43

and we get to perform in lots of competitions.

0:02:430:02:47

We also like to perform for the local community.

0:02:540:02:57

BAND PLAYS: White Christmas

0:02:570:02:59

It's so much fun performing to an audience. It makes me really happy.

0:03:030:03:06

BAND PLAYS: Jingle Bells

0:03:170:03:19

Happy Christmas!

0:03:210:03:23

CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

0:03:230:03:25

After we play in the park,

0:03:310:03:32

we like to go and play for people who can't come to see us perform.

0:03:320:03:36

Does anyone here have any requests?

0:03:400:03:42

God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen.

0:03:420:03:44

BAND PLAYS: God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen

0:03:440:03:47

AUDIENCE CLAPS ALONG

0:03:470:03:49

The only thing better than playing music

0:03:520:03:54

is playing music with your best friends.

0:03:540:03:57

I'm Freya, and this is what I do.

0:04:190:04:22

SHE PLAYS: Jingle Bells

0:04:220:04:23

-# The Let's Go Club!

-# Let's go! #

0:04:280:04:31

Whoa, Freya, your brass band was brilliant.

0:04:310:04:34

Such rich, warm-sounding music.

0:04:340:04:37

In fact, it reminded me of a joke.

0:04:370:04:39

What do you use to mend a broken trumpet?

0:04:390:04:42

A TUBA glue!

0:04:420:04:44

Anyway, we're going to play a wintry game now. It's very cool.

0:04:440:04:48

In fact, it's freezing cold.

0:04:480:04:50

Look at these ice-cool skaters.

0:04:500:04:53

You've got mini-Kirsten,

0:04:530:04:55

mini-Joanna and mini-Martin.

0:04:550:04:57

And here's how you can make your own. You will need -

0:04:570:05:00

A strip of tinfoil, a large lollipop stick,

0:05:000:05:03

some felt-tip pens,

0:05:030:05:05

a teaspoon, and a plastic cup filled with a little bit of water.

0:05:050:05:10

Once you've got all that,

0:05:100:05:12

you have to draw a little character on your lollipop stick.

0:05:120:05:16

And what I'm going to do is, I'm going to draw a little face

0:05:160:05:19

just like mine.

0:05:190:05:20

There's my eyes and here's my little smile.

0:05:200:05:23

Now, what's important is that you have to leave a gap

0:05:250:05:27

at the bottom of your lollipop stick

0:05:270:05:29

so that it looks like your character is skating.

0:05:290:05:32

Now, once you've done that, you have to take your cup of water,

0:05:320:05:36

just like this, and your tinfoil.

0:05:360:05:39

Put it on top of your cup and wrap it around to secure it,

0:05:390:05:43

just like that.

0:05:430:05:45

Once you've done that, you take your teaspoon

0:05:450:05:47

and then you pierce a hole in the middle of your tinfoil,

0:05:470:05:52

and this is so your little character

0:05:520:05:56

can easily go inside, just like that.

0:05:560:06:02

And then, once you've done that, it's time to put your ice-cool

0:06:030:06:06

dancer in the freezer and leave it in overnight.

0:06:060:06:09

Now, it's pretty cold,

0:06:090:06:10

so make sure you ask an adult to help you out with it.

0:06:100:06:13

OK, now that they're done, I'm going to have to try

0:06:130:06:15

and find some friends to try them out.

0:06:150:06:18

Come on, Joanna and Kirsten, we know you're dying to. Come on.

0:06:180:06:21

Cool Kirsten with a K, ready to skate.

0:06:210:06:24

Joanna Jack Frost here for some skating.

0:06:240:06:26

-Are you ready?

-Yeah.

-Go for it!

0:06:260:06:28

-And there is Kirsten!

-Oh!

0:06:280:06:31

Ah! Very good!

0:06:310:06:34

Try out your skaters on different surfaces to see how they move.

0:06:340:06:38

Why don't you also send us in some photos and videos?

0:06:380:06:41

I'd love to see them.

0:06:410:06:43

Just grab a grown-up, head to the CBeebies website

0:06:430:06:45

and click on the Let's Go Club.

0:06:450:06:47

Now, from skating to singing,

0:06:470:06:49

and a whole stocking full of that Christmas sparkle.

-# The Let's Go Club!

-# Let's go! #

0:08:440:08:47

We're going to get fantastically festive now.

0:08:470:08:49

It's the Let's Go Club no-cut Christmas card!

0:08:490:08:52

So for this, you're going to need some coloured card or paper,

0:08:520:08:55

a glue stick and a felt-tip pen.

0:08:550:08:57

And the best thing about this make is we don't need any scissors!

0:08:570:09:01

You're going to need a piece of red card

0:09:010:09:04

and you're going to fold it in half, like this.

0:09:040:09:07

Well done. Press it down really hard.

0:09:070:09:10

And then fold it in half again the other way.

0:09:100:09:13

Then you open it up and then I want you to put sticky glue

0:09:130:09:17

all over one half of it so it's really sticky. Go!

0:09:170:09:20

Then when you've done that, you can fold your card back together

0:09:200:09:24

and press down really, really firmly,

0:09:240:09:28

and it makes your card nice and sturdy.

0:09:280:09:32

Now it's time for my favourite bit - decorating.

0:09:320:09:35

And for this, we're going to do lots and lots of tearing.

0:09:350:09:37

So first, we're going to rip a big piece of our pink paper

0:09:370:09:41

Lovely. Very nice.

0:09:430:09:45

Then we're going to glue them down,

0:09:450:09:47

right in the middle of our Christmas card, OK?

0:09:470:09:50

Good stuff. Now, this is going to be Father Christmas's face.

0:09:500:09:54

So let's rip off the extra bits.

0:09:540:09:56

Now, Lacey, what's your favourite thing about Father Christmas?

0:09:580:10:02

-He gives us presents.

-He does give us presents.

0:10:030:10:06

So, now we're going to rip an even bigger piece of white paper

0:10:060:10:10

to make Father Christmas's beard.

0:10:100:10:12

And when we glue it down, we need to make sure there's still some

0:10:120:10:15

pink showing because we need to see Father Christmas's face, don't we?

0:10:150:10:19

Last of all, you need to draw two little eyes

0:10:190:10:22

and a nose on Father Christmas's pink face.

0:10:220:10:26

And then a big smile on his beard.

0:10:260:10:30

And that's your no-cut Christmas card done.

0:10:300:10:32

But if you think that's a bit of a doddle

0:10:320:10:35

and you want a crafty challenge,

0:10:350:10:37

there is a way to make it a little bit more festive.

0:10:370:10:40

Hey, Adam, why don't you open this Christmas card?

0:10:400:10:45

-Argh! Ha!

-That is brilliant!

0:10:450:10:48

And if you want to give this snow-filled card a try,

0:10:480:10:50

then our friends at Blue Peter can show you how.

0:10:500:10:53

To find out how, go to the CBeebies website, grab a grown-up

0:10:530:10:56

and click on the Let's Go Club.

0:10:560:10:58

And you could even add a good Christmas joke to your card.

0:10:580:11:02

Hey, Isaac, have you got a joke for us?

0:11:020:11:04

What do Father Christmas's elves learn in school?

0:11:040:11:09

The Elphabet!

0:11:090:11:11

Did you get it? The Elphabet! Instead of the alphabet...

0:11:110:11:13

Oh! That's really got me into the festive spirit.

0:11:130:11:16

When they're done with their elphabet,

0:11:160:11:18

I wonder if they put the Christmas decorations to good use,

0:11:180:11:21

like Let's Goers Reeve and her friends did?

0:11:210:11:24

It's We Did This.

0:11:240:11:25

-# The Let's Go Club!

-# Let's go! #

0:11:270:11:30

Hi, I'm Reeve and these are my friends,

0:11:300:11:33

Liam, Tamira, Ava and Barker.

0:11:330:11:37

We love exploring outside and making homes for animals,

0:11:370:11:41

birds and creepy crawlies.

0:11:410:11:43

We are going to recycle Christmas trees

0:11:430:11:46

and use them in our school garden.

0:11:460:11:48

We're going to use this Christmas tree to make a fish hub. Let's go!

0:11:510:11:56

First, we have to chop the tree into little bits.

0:11:590:12:02

We are using long sticks to push the branches to the bottom.

0:12:080:12:14

The tree makes a shelter and attracts insects,

0:12:140:12:18

which make yummy snacks for the fish.

0:12:180:12:20

Now we've made the fish hub, let's see what else we can do.

0:12:210:12:25

Now we're going to replant this Christmas tree

0:12:260:12:29

and decorate it with yummy snacks for the birds.

0:12:290:12:33

Now we have made a new home for this tree, let's add the snacks.

0:12:330:12:38

It's like decorating a Christmas tree.

0:12:390:12:42

But instead of baubles, we're using fruit.

0:12:420:12:45

It's like a Christmas tree for the birds.

0:12:450:12:49

Even this old Christmas tree can be recycled.

0:12:490:12:53

We have to take off the dead needles to make something called mulch.

0:12:530:12:58

Mulch helps to keep the soil wet and stops the plants from drying out.

0:12:580:13:04

We love recycling and helping nature, so we did this.

0:13:050:13:10

-# The Let's Go Club!

-# Let's go! #

0:13:120:13:15

What a fantastic lot of Christmas recycling.

0:13:150:13:18

I though it was tree-mendous! Huh!

0:13:180:13:21

And I've got another wintry wisecrack for you.

0:13:210:13:24

-Go on.

-Where do snowmen like to dance?

0:13:240:13:26

I've no idea, but I do have a feeling you're going to tell me.

0:13:260:13:29

Yes, I am. A snow ball!

0:13:290:13:31

You and your Christmas cracker jokes!

0:13:310:13:33

It's the Club Dance.

0:13:330:13:35

And we know you've got some cool moves that you're going to show off.

0:13:350:13:38

Let's go!

0:13:380:13:41

Side to side.

0:13:410:13:43

Jump!

0:13:480:13:49

# Go! Go! Go! Everybody dance now... #

0:13:530:13:56

Roll!

0:13:560:13:57

# Go! Go! Go! Everybody dance... #

0:14:010:14:04

You know what we need?

0:14:040:14:06

-We need even more Let's Goers to help us out with the dance.

-Yeah!

0:14:060:14:09

-Come on, guys!

-Come on, gang!

0:14:090:14:11

-Get in!

-Yeah!

-Let's go!

0:14:110:14:14

Side to side!

0:14:140:14:16

-# Let's go! #

-Get your boogie boots on!

0:14:170:14:20

Jump!

0:14:200:14:22

-Get those wheels high-rolling!

-# Let's go!

0:14:240:14:26

# Go! Go! Go! Everybody dance. #

0:14:260:14:29

Roll!

0:14:290:14:31

Don't forget today's Cool Move, guys!

0:14:340:14:36

Oh, yeah! The Father Christmas!

0:14:360:14:38

Ho-ho-ho-ho-ho!

0:14:380:14:41

-Ho-ho-ho-ho!

-KIRSTEN LAUGHS

0:14:410:14:44
