Leo and Tessa grab a paddle and go urban kayaking.

We've got a brand-new swimming style cool move -

the dive and dry.

Lex and Mimi show us how to get a kick out of being sporty...

And we meet some swim-loving twins, Julia and Sophie from Holland.

Today, we're going kayaking.

-BOTH:

Kayaking is a watersport that involves rowing

using a paddle in a small boat known as a kayak.

Kayaks can come in lots of different sizes.

This is Clive, he's an expert at kayaking,

and he's going to show us what to do today in a safe way.

Hello, Let's Goers!

-Are you looking forward to going kayaking today?

-Yeah!

Great. Glad to see you've got your wet suits on.

What are these wet suits for?

Well, to help you stay dry if it's raining or if you fall in the water.

What are these for, Clive?

These are called buoyancy aids,

and they're to help you stay afloat if you fall in the water.

We've got to make sure the buoyancy aids are nice and tight

to keep us safe.

-Not too tight, is it?

-No, it's fine.

-Excellent.

We also need to wear helmets to protect our heads.

Not too tight? Excellent, good to go. Let's go.

I can't wait to get in a kayak.

Wow, these kayaks look so cool!

First thing we need to do is get to know our kayaks on land.

Slide in and sit down. Good.

We first have to sit in the kayak properly, so our legs are comfy.

Excellent. That's called posture, and that's how we paddle.

We don't lean back, we sit nice and upright.

Then we have to learn how to paddle properly.

That's great, you two. I think it's time we got on the water.

-BOTH:

-Yay!

It's so much fun being on the water.

We first have to learn how to paddle forwards in our kayaks,

which can be really tricky.

Now we're trying to turn in our kayaks.

When you turn, just paddle on one side like I am, look.

Gentle strokes.

Great job, Let's Goers. I think we're ready for a tour of the dock.

It's amazing going through a city in a kayak.

Wow! Leo and Tessa, it looks like you had a splashing time

when you did urban kayaking -

and, talking of splashing,

I have got a swimmingly good cool move to show you -

and if you've ever taken the plunge, you will love this.

It's called the dive and dry, and it goes like this...

So simple. All you need to do is take one hand

and place it on your nose,

and the other hand, stretch it up high, and dive down like this...

..and wave it, a bit like a fish.

Then swap over. Nose, dive down deep, fishy hand...

Perfect! Then you're going to grab your towel,

put it behind your back,

and dry off your back.

Now we put both bits together.

Dive...

..and dry!

And that's how you do the dive and dry.

In karate, you use punches and kicks against your opponents -

but how do you figure out who's the winner?

It's the first to two points, and to get a point,

it's either a kick or a punch to hit the body.

Wow! OK, I get it.

What about what you're wearing, Lex? What are you wearing?

We wear white trousers, a white jacket, and I wear a blue belt.

-All together, what's it called?

-A gi.

-A gi, fantastic!

Mimi, why are you wearing different coloured belts?

Because you're at a different stage -

so, you have a different combination, kata and ippon.

It sounds so complicated, I can't believe you do it so well -

look at all those medals and trophies,

-where have they come from?

-BOTH: From competitions

from Sheffield and Liverpool and indie clubs.

-Well, I'm so impressed. Can you guys teach me a move?

-Yeah.

-A roundhouse kick.

If I wear these little spools, I can hear better.

I'm Julia, and this is my sister Sophie.

She's hard of hearing.

When I switch my hearing aid off I can hear a little bit,

but when switch it on, I can hear you really well.

-Julia and Sophie go to swim class.

When I go swimming, I have to take the spools out,

otherwise the water goes in them and they stop working.

I can't go in the pool with my hearing aid.

It makes the batteries go flat.

Sophie and I don't hear anything in the pool.

All that lovely water, it just makes you want to dive in.
