'I'm Nigel.'

0:00:020:00:03

'I'm Michelle.

0:00:040:00:06

'We're going to show you how to turn useless rubbish...'

0:00:080:00:11

What are you going to do with this lot?

0:00:110:00:13

'..into amazing, useful stuff.'

0:00:130:00:15

So cool.

0:00:150:00:16

'All here on...'

0:00:160:00:18

Coming up, we meet an artist who makes fantastic things from foil...

0:00:220:00:26

..we visit someone who wants results from his sweet wrappers...

0:00:290:00:33

and we show you how to make a new bag out of old plastic bags.

0:00:330:00:37

But first...

0:00:380:00:40

You want some sauce with that?

0:00:400:00:42

Hi there, we've got a new mayonnaise product we're testing on people.

0:00:420:00:45

We're trying out a new sauce and I noticed you have sandwiches.

0:00:450:00:48

I wondered if you'd like to try some new mustard?

0:00:480:00:50

-Yeah, hold on.

-Yes, why not?

-Have some of this.

0:00:500:00:53

Argh!

0:00:530:00:54

THEY LAUGH

0:00:540:00:58

-You ready?

-Yeah.

-Yeah?

0:01:000:01:02

SHE LAUGHS

0:01:020:01:04

-Made my day.

-Perfect!

0:01:060:01:07

This is Splat Attack and I'm going to show you how to make it. Come on.

0:01:090:01:12

'Yep, I'm going to show you how to prank your mates

0:01:120:01:14

'out of stuff you've got lying around.'

0:01:140:01:17

What you need first is an old squeezy bottle -

0:01:170:01:21

it could be an old mayo bottle or an old ketchup bottle.

0:01:210:01:24

Wash it out and make sure it's nice and clean.

0:01:250:01:28

The next thing you need to do is pour some paint in.

0:01:280:01:32

Now make sure the paint is the same colour

0:01:320:01:34

as whatever sauce was inside your squeezy bottle.

0:01:340:01:37

Get a good amount of paint in there and then comes the fun bit.

0:01:370:01:42

Put the lid on, make sure it's on nice and tight,

0:01:440:01:47

shut and shake it up.

0:01:470:01:50

Painting the inside of the bottle

0:01:500:01:52

will make it look like it's full of real sauce.

0:01:520:01:55

OK, then you need to let that dry.

0:01:550:01:58

Once it's dry, you should have a bottle that looks a bit like that.

0:01:580:02:04

Next up, we need to add our splat string.

0:02:040:02:09

Now take some string - you want about an arm's length.

0:02:100:02:14

Take some scissors.

0:02:140:02:15

make a little snip.

0:02:170:02:18

Take the lid off your squeezy bottle and feed the string into it.

0:02:220:02:27

It's best to use a pencil to do this cos it can be fiddly.

0:02:270:02:30

There we go.

0:02:370:02:39

String is on the bottle top.

0:02:390:02:42

Now we need to tie knots in the bottom and top of the string,

0:02:420:02:47

so that your splat string doesn't come flying out of the bottle

0:02:470:02:52

or get sucked in.

0:02:520:02:53

'Make sure your knots are big enough.'

0:02:540:02:57

A knot in the bottom...

0:02:590:03:01

There we go.

0:03:010:03:03

Then you need to feed your string into the bottle.

0:03:030:03:06

Once that's all in, then on goes your bottle top.

0:03:080:03:12

Just like that. Then we are ready to prank someone.

0:03:130:03:18

If you don't want to use a mayonnaise bottle,

0:03:180:03:21

you could use a mustard bottle or ketchup bottle.

0:03:210:03:25

Then you're ready for Splat Attack.

0:03:250:03:28

RAT SQUEAKS

0:03:330:03:35

Grr!

0:03:560:03:57

Did you know that one in every five pieces of litter in the UK

0:04:070:04:10

is a sweet wrapper?

0:04:100:04:12

Well, I know a guy who wants to recycle his wrappers

0:04:120:04:14

into something fun.

0:04:140:04:16

Meet Omar.

0:04:160:04:17

He keeps hold of everything.

0:04:170:04:19

Cardboard rolls, plastic containers, scrap paper -

0:04:200:04:24

you name it, he keeps it.

0:04:240:04:26

His art bag got so full of materials that he started an art BOX.

0:04:260:04:31

Then THAT got so full that he started an art CUPBOARD!

0:04:310:04:35

But there's one thing he's been collecting

0:04:350:04:37

that he doesn't know what to do with.

0:04:370:04:39

It's these sweet wrappers that he wants us to help him with.

0:04:390:04:41

So, Omar, you seem like a pretty creative guy to me -

0:04:410:04:44

you've got a stash of loads of things here!

0:04:440:04:47

Do you just create things from old bits and pieces

0:04:470:04:49

you've got lying around or...?

0:04:490:04:51

Yes, I just find stuff around the house

0:04:510:04:54

and ask Mum if I can, like, use it

0:04:540:04:56

and put it in my art box or art bag or cupboard.

0:04:560:05:00

Two days later, I'll be like, "Oh, I need that,"

0:05:000:05:02

-and I'll just pull it...

-Nice.

0:05:020:05:03

Pop it on the end of something or something like that. Yeah.

0:05:030:05:06

You sound like my type of guy.

0:05:060:05:08

So what type of things do you create?

0:05:080:05:09

A card game, er, to do with food and energy of the food.

0:05:090:05:14

Er, a Ferris wheel that electrically goes around.

0:05:140:05:18

-I've made a car that...

-What?!

0:05:180:05:19

..flick and switch and then it will goes straight by itself.

0:05:190:05:22

Nice.

0:05:220:05:23

I thought, "I've got loads of sweet wrappers all over the house."

0:05:230:05:26

-All over the house, eh?

-Yeah.

-You like your sweets then?

0:05:260:05:29

Yeah, but don't tell anyone. Ssh! It'll be a secret.

0:05:290:05:32

Yeah, I like eating sweets.

0:05:320:05:35

But you've still not found a use for them in terms of creating something?

0:05:350:05:38

I've never really thought of anything to use it for.

0:05:380:05:41

Well, lucky for you, I know someone that is amazing

0:05:410:05:44

at reinventing things from using old sweet wrappers.

0:05:440:05:47

Check this out.

0:05:470:05:48

I'm Joanne Tinker and I'm a recycled artist

0:05:550:05:58

and, at the moment, I'm working with sweet wrappers.

0:05:580:06:01

Working with sweet wrappers means eating lots of sweets,

0:06:010:06:03

so everybody loves collecting them for me.

0:06:030:06:06

So I'm now going to show you how to make a boat out of sweet wrappers.

0:06:180:06:22

I'm going to start off by flattening the foil.

0:06:220:06:26

This just makes it a lot easier to work with.

0:06:260:06:29

And then to have the boat with the colour on the outside,

0:06:310:06:34

I'm going to begin by folding the rectangle in half.

0:06:340:06:38

Then I need to bring the corners down and in on one side...

0:06:380:06:43

and then the other.

0:06:430:06:44

Foil is very delicate, so you have to be careful with it.

0:06:480:06:52

Pull the triangle apart and almost fold it back on itself.

0:06:520:06:56

Bring these corners up on one side...

0:06:580:07:01

..and then the other.

0:07:030:07:04

We need to find the centre and I'm using this wooden skewer

0:07:060:07:09

so you don't need any expensive tools or any equipment.

0:07:090:07:12

Open the triangle up and fold it over again.

0:07:120:07:16

And, this time, pull these two apart...

0:07:160:07:21

and your boat is nearly done.

0:07:210:07:23

I've made nearly 300 of these boats

0:07:260:07:28

and I'm now going to display them in this frame.

0:07:280:07:31

I try to mix up the colours,

0:07:330:07:34

so there aren't too many blues next to each other, for example,

0:07:340:07:38

and make sure the sails point in different directions,

0:07:380:07:41

so the overall look is nice and random.

0:07:410:07:45

The next stage is to make the mast and the sail for the boat.

0:07:450:07:49

This has come off a cordial bottle.

0:07:490:07:51

Don't worry if you make a mistake -

0:07:580:08:00

you can always eat another sweet and use the wrapper from that.

0:08:000:08:03

And there's the finished sweet wrapper boat.

0:08:060:08:09

I'm now going to show you another way to make a boat.

0:08:160:08:19

This time using a doming block.

0:08:190:08:20

Using foil is fun and it will do things that other materials won't.

0:08:240:08:28

For instance, paper won't hold its shape.

0:08:280:08:30

OK, here's the final piece finished, made out of sweet wrappers.

0:08:490:08:52

I think I'm going to call it Regatta.

0:08:520:08:55

I love the detail on Joanne's boats

0:09:000:09:02

and all made out of sweet wrappers and old wire! Amazing!

0:09:020:09:05

And great inspiration for what to make with Omar.

0:09:050:09:08

We are going to create our very own sweet wrapper draughts game.

0:09:090:09:14

-How does that sound to you?

-Really good.

-Up for it?

-Yeah.

0:09:140:09:16

Brilliant, that's what we like.

0:09:160:09:18

You have loads of sweet wrappers - you've been eating a LOT of sweets!

0:09:180:09:21

We're going to need four cereal boxes.

0:09:210:09:23

Two large ones and two small ones.

0:09:230:09:25

With the two larger ones, I've just stuck them together.

0:09:250:09:28

Then, with the two smaller ones, snip the front off

0:09:280:09:30

and what we're going to do with these is create the drawers

0:09:300:09:34

so we can put all our game's pieces and everything

0:09:340:09:36

inside the draughts box.

0:09:360:09:38

'Draw around the end of your small box and cut out a hole.

0:09:380:09:41

'Do the same on the other side.'

0:09:410:09:43

Now we have got our two holes - we've got one there for one drawer

0:09:430:09:45

and one there for another drawer.

0:09:450:09:47

'Use your larger box to see how big your drawer should be...

0:09:470:09:51

'and make some tabs so you can fold up the ends.'

0:09:510:09:54

So it's basically just evening it up to make it all the same level

0:09:550:09:59

and then, once it's stuck together, it should look something like this

0:09:590:10:02

and it should just very neatly fit inside like that.

0:10:020:10:06

So once you've built up your boxes, it's time to paint it.

0:10:060:10:09

What colours do you think we should go for?

0:10:090:10:11

I would say red because it's not too bright and it's not too dull.

0:10:110:10:15

Um...for the drawers, gold,

0:10:150:10:18

because checkers is like queens and kings, like high colour.

0:10:180:10:21

-High colour, royal colours.

-Yeah.

-We like it.

0:10:210:10:24

I'm loving your style.

0:10:240:10:25

Do you prefer sweets or chocolate?

0:10:280:10:30

Well, it melts in your mouth, so I would say chocolate.

0:10:300:10:33

-Chocolate.

-Yeah.

-Melt-in-your-mouth chocolate.

0:10:330:10:35

-I think I'd agree with you on that one.

-Melty chocolate.

-Nice.

0:10:350:10:38

Make our own brand -

0:10:380:10:39

"The chocolate that melts and soothes into your mouth."

0:10:390:10:42

SHE LAUGHS

0:10:420:10:44

And I tell you what - this is a great excuse

0:10:440:10:46

-for eating more chocolates and sweets, isn't it?

-Yeah.

0:10:460:10:49

"Mum, can you just get me some more sweets and chocolate, please?

0:10:490:10:52

"I really want to make something afterwards."

0:10:520:10:55

We've got a lot of red and gold sweet wrappers, haven't we?

0:10:550:10:57

So we can coordinate it quite nicely.

0:10:570:11:00

Whilst they're drying, we can crack on

0:11:020:11:04

with making the actual draughts part of the game.

0:11:040:11:08

So all I've done is grabbed another one of the larger cereal boxes

0:11:080:11:11

and cut out a perfect square.

0:11:110:11:13

Now a draughts board has 64 squares on it,

0:11:130:11:16

so that's eight squares by eight squares

0:11:160:11:19

and I've got a really simple way of actually creating those squares.

0:11:190:11:22

Draw a line straight down the centre.

0:11:220:11:26

Halve that again on this side.

0:11:260:11:28

And then we're going to halve it again.

0:11:290:11:31

He's very good.

0:11:340:11:36

Perfect!

0:11:360:11:38

I tell you what - this is going to be one great game.

0:11:380:11:40

This is going to be Omar's Game.

0:11:400:11:43

OK, now for the fun bit -

0:11:430:11:44

we can start wrapping up the squares.

0:11:440:11:46

It's almost like wrapping sweets up again, really, isn't it?

0:11:460:11:49

-Which colour are you going for?

-Gold.

0:11:490:11:51

OK, I'll go for red.

0:11:510:11:53

And Joanne Tinker mentioned when you're using foil,

0:11:530:11:55

just make sure you're really delicate with it,

0:11:550:11:58

cos it can tear quite easily,

0:11:580:11:59

and you just need to make sure you spread it out,

0:11:590:12:02

try and get rid of all of the creases,

0:12:020:12:04

just make it look nice and neat.

0:12:040:12:05

-And if you do rip it, you can always just use a...

-Yeah.

0:12:050:12:08

-Eat another sweet and use another wrapper.

-Yeah.

0:12:080:12:10

That's all right, isn't it?

0:12:100:12:12

For this bit, it'd probably be good

0:12:160:12:18

to get your mates round, wouldn't it?

0:12:180:12:21

All bring their sweets, all sit down and get wrapping.

0:12:210:12:24

It should be a song -

0:12:240:12:25

# Get wrapping, get wrapping, get wrapping

0:12:250:12:27

# Get wrapping, get wrapping with your sweets! #

0:12:270:12:29

Swap sides.

0:12:360:12:38

New song.

0:12:380:12:39

# Swap it, stick it

0:12:390:12:40

# Drop it. #

0:12:400:12:42

MICHELLE LAUGHS

0:12:420:12:44

The gold drawer, I've done a red border

0:12:440:12:47

and I've put a little handle on,

0:12:470:12:49

which is a clue to what we're going to be playing the game with.

0:12:490:12:52

These are chocolates.

0:12:520:12:54

We're going to be playing with sweets,

0:12:540:12:56

-so you can take all of the red ones.

-Eat them all!

0:12:560:12:58

-You're going down. You're first.

-OK.

0:13:000:13:03

This is so much better than just buying a game in a shop, isn't it?

0:13:040:13:08

-Yeah. It's a lot cheaper as well.

-Much cheaper.

0:13:080:13:11

Ba-bam! Gotcha!

0:13:110:13:12

-SHE LAUGHS

-Oh, man!

0:13:120:13:14

I am the master and I'm going to eat your piece.

0:13:140:13:18

I need to get better at this game.

0:13:180:13:20

I knew you were going to be better than me!

0:13:200:13:21

And if you do prefer sweets to chocolate,

0:13:210:13:23

how about trying a different design?

0:13:230:13:25

You could use your favourite sweets to create something like this.

0:13:250:13:28

Or, if you want to get really adventurous and really creative,

0:13:280:13:32

how about creating your own chessboard

0:13:320:13:34

with rolled-up sweet wrappers for the pieces?

0:13:340:13:37

To make your sweet wrappers draughts game, here's what you have to do.

0:13:410:13:46

Stage one - with your two large cereal boxes stuck together,

0:13:460:13:49

use one of your small boxes to mark your drawer opening on both sides.

0:13:490:13:53

Then cut them out.

0:13:530:13:54

Stage two - determine the size of your drawer by placing it

0:13:590:14:02

on top of the large box and marking at the edge.

0:14:020:14:05

Then measure an additional three centimetres for the tabs.

0:14:050:14:09

Cut these out, fold up the card to make the drawer

0:14:090:14:12

and trim any extra bits.

0:14:120:14:13

Stage three - paint the large boxes and the small boxes

0:14:190:14:22

whatever colour you like.

0:14:220:14:24

Stage four - divide a large square of card into 64 smaller squares

0:14:260:14:31

and cut them out.

0:14:310:14:32

Stage five - get your sweet wrappers and flatten them out,

0:14:350:14:38

cover the small card squares in foil and stick them in place.

0:14:380:14:42

32 of one colour and 32 of another.

0:14:420:14:45

Then stick them on top of the boxes.

0:14:450:14:48

Stage six - add finishing touches.

0:14:490:14:51

I've put a border on the front of the drawers

0:14:510:14:53

and I've used sweets as the drawer handles.

0:14:530:14:56

To complete the game,

0:14:590:15:00

collect sweets and use them as playing pieces.

0:15:000:15:03

Still to come, we make music from a load of old junk...

0:15:080:15:11

..and we show you how to make a hovercraft balloon.

0:15:120:15:15

But first - Totally Famous.

0:15:170:15:20

Introducing Andy Warhol,

0:15:210:15:23

totally famous for putting the pop into art in the 1960s.

0:15:230:15:26

With his big glasses and wild wigs,

0:15:260:15:28

Andy Warhol was obsessed with celebrity.

0:15:280:15:31

Yep, that's him.

0:15:310:15:33

He predicted that everyone would have their moment in the spotlight -

0:15:330:15:36

their very own 15 minutes of fame.

0:15:360:15:38

And that was long before the internet and TV talent shows

0:15:380:15:41

made it much easier.

0:15:410:15:42

Warhol took inspiration for his art from all sorts of everyday stuff -

0:15:450:15:49

upcycling what he saw

0:15:490:15:51

and turning the totally ordinary into the totally cool.

0:15:510:15:54

Cola bottles...

0:15:550:15:56

..and cans of soup all got the Warhol treatment,

0:15:580:16:01

along with famous celebs.

0:16:010:16:03

In 2008, one of Warhol's prints of Elvis Presley,

0:16:030:16:07

called Eight Elvises sold for over £60 million!

0:16:070:16:12

Clever old Andy's most famous work was created by screen printing,

0:16:120:16:15

meaning he could create the same image again and again,

0:16:150:16:18

making him more and more moolah.

0:16:180:16:21

He even called his studio The Factory

0:16:210:16:22

because of how he mass-produced his work.

0:16:220:16:25

He covered the place in foil to make it totally shiny and fabulous,

0:16:250:16:29

just like him.

0:16:290:16:30

So please give it up for the totally famous Andy Warhol.

0:16:310:16:35

Today, we're going to make a CD hovercraft balloon...

0:16:420:16:46

..using the sports cap from an old plastic drinks bottle,

0:16:470:16:51

an old, scratched CD and a leftover balloon.

0:16:510:16:55

First, take the top off an old juice bottle that goes up and down.

0:16:550:16:59

Then get some glue.

0:17:010:17:04

Glue it to the centre of an old, scratched CD.

0:17:040:17:06

It stinks.

0:17:080:17:10

Leave it to dry for a long time.

0:17:100:17:12

How's it going, Michelle?

0:17:160:17:18

Fine.

0:17:180:17:19

The next thing you do, you get a leftover balloon

0:17:190:17:22

from, like, a party.

0:17:220:17:23

So you need to put the end of the balloon onto the cap,

0:17:300:17:34

losing as little air as possible.

0:17:340:17:36

AIR HISSES

0:17:360:17:37

Whoosh.

0:17:370:17:38

Final thing you need to do,

0:17:380:17:40

you just release...

0:17:400:17:41

..and you have your hovercraft!

0:17:430:17:46

THEY LAUGH

0:17:460:17:48

There you have it.

0:17:480:17:49

Your own CD hovercraft balloon.

0:17:490:17:52

The best thing about making the CD hovercraft balloon

0:17:560:17:59

is, um, you can make lots of them and race your friends.

0:17:590:18:03

THEY LAUGH

0:18:030:18:05

CAMERA CLICKS

0:18:250:18:27

'What can you make from a bin bag full of rubbish?'

0:18:360:18:41

-Have a look at all of that.

-What?!

0:18:410:18:43

Why have you got a load of plastic bags?

0:18:430:18:45

Because I'm going to show you how to make a must-have bag

0:18:450:18:49

to impress all your mates.

0:18:490:18:51

You'll need a load of plastic bags,

0:18:510:18:54

a couple of old shoelaces,

0:18:540:18:56

an iron and ironing board,

0:18:560:18:59

baking paper,

0:18:590:19:01

some tape

0:19:010:19:02

and, oh, yeah, be sure to get permission to use the iron.

0:19:020:19:06

This bag came from those plastic bags?

0:19:060:19:08

-It did indeed.

-No!

0:19:080:19:09

You can carry your trainers,

0:19:090:19:11

you can carry, you know, food for the picnic.

0:19:110:19:13

It's waterproof.

0:19:130:19:14

I'm seriously impressed.

0:19:140:19:16

-Do you want me to show you how to do it?

-Definitely!

0:19:160:19:18

Right, let's get to this.

0:19:180:19:19

To make the decoration for the bag,

0:19:190:19:21

we're going to need an ironing board

0:19:210:19:22

-and a couple of sheets of baking paper for this.

-OK.

0:19:220:19:25

-And the iron, of course.

-OK.

0:19:250:19:27

So you take some old, shredded bits of plastic bag like this.

0:19:270:19:32

All the plastic bags that you saw earlier on, we've shredded them up

0:19:320:19:35

to make this and you're going to put this between your baking papers.

0:19:350:19:39

Like a baking paper sandwich.

0:19:390:19:42

That wouldn't be very tasty at all.

0:19:420:19:44

I like all of these different colours as well,

0:19:440:19:46

so if you've got different-coloured plastic bags, that's good, right?

0:19:460:19:49

It's all about the design of your bag.

0:19:490:19:51

I'm going to show you some cool stuff later on.

0:19:510:19:53

Put the second sheet of baking paper on top

0:19:530:19:56

and next we need to iron it down.

0:19:560:19:59

Now be careful with the iron -

0:19:590:20:00

don't be afraid to go and get someone to help you out with this,

0:20:000:20:04

-OK, because we don't want to frazzle...

-No.

0:20:040:20:06

..our plastic bags we just want to gently warm them

0:20:060:20:10

and get them to fuse together.

0:20:100:20:12

You also have to make sure that you keep the iron moving.

0:20:150:20:18

Wicked! It looks like a piece of art just like that, doesn't it?

0:20:210:20:24

Exactly. So you see how all the little bits of plastic

0:20:240:20:26

have, like, fused together?

0:20:260:20:28

The next thing we're going to use is these thick plastic bags

0:20:280:20:31

so we've got a black bin liner there and a blue one as well.

0:20:310:20:34

They are going to make the main bit of our bag

0:20:340:20:36

and what we need to do is use the same process

0:20:360:20:39

and iron them between the greaseproof paper

0:20:390:20:41

so they stick together.

0:20:410:20:43

You should get something like this.

0:20:460:20:49

-See how they've...?

-That feels so cool!

0:20:490:20:52

And the good thing about it is it also makes it stronger.

0:20:520:20:54

So you've got a double layer.

0:20:540:20:56

You've got a double layer and it strengthens your bag.

0:20:560:20:59

The next thing to do is to take your decorative piece.

0:20:590:21:02

So that's like the special feature!

0:21:020:21:04

-It's like layering. So...

-I see.

0:21:040:21:06

You take your decorative piece, you put that in place,

0:21:060:21:09

put it between your baking papers again.

0:21:090:21:14

-Iron on.

-Yep.

-Iron off.

-Getting you.

0:21:140:21:17

Very cool!

0:21:170:21:18

So it's just like built it up, hasn't it?

0:21:180:21:20

Yeah, you're just layering, basically,

0:21:200:21:22

you're building up the layers.

0:21:220:21:23

You don't just have to do your decorations like this -

0:21:230:21:26

there's other ways to do it.

0:21:260:21:27

-I'll show you an example.

-OK.

0:21:270:21:29

-Here...

-Oh, I like that one.

0:21:290:21:31

-Done some stripes.

-Yeah, I like that.

0:21:310:21:34

-OK?

-Yeah, that's nice.

0:21:340:21:35

So you've got your main components.

0:21:350:21:37

-What you need to do is draw out some templates...

-Yeah.

0:21:370:21:40

-..for the different bits of your bag.

-Yeah.

0:21:400:21:42

This is going to be front and back.

0:21:420:21:44

This will be the bottom - we only need one of those -

0:21:440:21:46

and here are the sides. We need two of these.

0:21:460:21:50

So once you have your template,

0:21:500:21:52

put it on the main part of your bag there

0:21:520:21:55

-and what you need to do is cut around it.

-OK.

0:21:550:21:58

-So you cut out the front, the back, the sides and the bottom.

-Yep.

0:21:580:22:01

And then you're ready to go.

0:22:010:22:03

-But, just before we move on and put it all together...

-Yeah?

0:22:030:22:07

..what I've done here is I've cut out a skull and crossbones

0:22:070:22:10

-from a plastic bag.

-Yeah.

0:22:100:22:11

We're going to use the same process again to add another layer,

0:22:110:22:15

-like this.

-That's so cool.

0:22:150:22:17

That's the front of the bag done.

0:22:170:22:19

You've got your sides, you've got your front and your back.

0:22:190:22:21

Now you stick them together.

0:22:210:22:23

So why don't we do some of it now?

0:22:230:22:24

I've got some tape here

0:22:240:22:26

and just stick it down on the sides like that.

0:22:260:22:28

Very neat handiwork.

0:22:280:22:30

-I try. I try, Michelle.

-You do try your best.

0:22:300:22:32

-Could you hold this corner at the top there for me?

-Course I can.

0:22:320:22:35

-That's it, you don't want any gaps in it.

-No, no.

0:22:350:22:37

You don't want your shopping falling out.

0:22:370:22:38

Don't want your shopping falling out of the bag. There you go.

0:22:380:22:41

So you do that all the way around the bag.

0:22:410:22:43

You have a box that looks something like that,

0:22:430:22:46

-which is the basis of this.

-Amazing.

0:22:460:22:48

Now I've just added a bit of tape at the top

0:22:480:22:50

and I've put a couple of holes in and this is an old shoelace.

0:22:500:22:54

-It's a great look.

-Working?

0:22:560:22:58

It's really working, yeah.

0:22:580:22:59

Working it. If you don't want to make a bag.

0:22:590:23:02

-You've got the pencil case up there.

-Oh, I like that.

0:23:020:23:05

Or there's the other style of bag

0:23:050:23:07

and then if you feel really creative and cool, apron.

0:23:070:23:10

Check that out!

0:23:100:23:11

It is a must-have bag.

0:23:130:23:15

CAR HORNS HONK

0:23:200:23:22

Om-nom-nom-nom-nom.

0:23:220:23:24

HE BELCHES

0:23:240:23:25

Hey, a bag made of bags - now that's what I call recycling!

0:23:250:23:29

You know, we only recycle one plastic bag in every 25 we use.

0:23:290:23:33

That's terrible!

0:23:330:23:34

I might have a go at one of those bags myself then.

0:23:340:23:37

I knew a plastic bag once.

0:23:370:23:39

He was terrible, too - never knew when to stop.

0:23:390:23:42

-Really?

-Yeah.

0:23:420:23:43

He was always getting CARRIED AWAY!

0:23:430:23:45

Oh, ho-ho, ha-ha-ha!

0:23:450:23:48

Get it? Carrier bags, carried away?

0:23:480:23:51

I wish someone would carry YOU away!

0:23:510:23:53

Ho-ho, ha-ha-ha!

0:23:530:23:56

Now, Nige, you've taken me to some places, but a junkyard?

0:24:020:24:05

What is going on here?

0:24:050:24:06

Well, we're going to be making some sweet music in here.

0:24:060:24:09

Music in a junkyard?

0:24:090:24:11

-Standard.

-I'm not understanding this at all.

0:24:110:24:14

Come with me.

0:24:140:24:15

-Good to see you.

-And you. This is Michelle.

0:24:210:24:23

-Nice to meet you.

-How you doing? Andy. Nice to meet you.

0:24:230:24:25

So, Andy, I'm confused - how do you make music in a place like this?

0:24:250:24:28

In here... Well, I mean this is like a Stomper's paradise, really.

0:24:280:24:32

There's different sounds you can make.

0:24:320:24:33

There's plastics, which are a low tone,

0:24:330:24:35

there's high-tone metals you can play.

0:24:350:24:37

-It's a hidden orchestra in this place.

-Can we have a go?

0:24:370:24:39

Yeah, course. Come on, let's do it.

0:24:390:24:42

These guys are my mates from Stomp.

0:24:420:24:45

You might have seen us in the London 2012 Olympic closing ceremony.

0:24:450:24:49

We use lots of old junk to make music.

0:24:490:24:51

-Why don't you take a stick each?

-Thank you.

-Thanks.

0:24:530:24:55

Tap on stuff, see if it sounds good.

0:24:550:24:57

HOLLOW TAPPING

0:24:570:24:58

-PLASTIC RATTLES

-Oh, yes.

-Yeah.

0:24:580:25:00

-I like that.

-Yeah?

-That sounds good, that one!

0:25:000:25:02

ANDY LAUGHS

0:25:020:25:03

-I think I'm going to play this.

-OK, if you say so.

0:25:030:25:05

-I think they're ready for us. Let's go.

-Let's do it.

0:25:050:25:08

GLASS CLINKS RHYTHMICALLY

0:25:080:25:10

OIL DRUM CLANKS

0:25:130:25:15

BONG!

0:25:170:25:19

RHYTHM BUILDS

0:25:210:25:25

One, two, three.

0:26:000:26:03

PLASTIC RATTLES

0:26:030:26:04

BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!

0:26:040:26:06

THEY PLAY AN UP-TEMPO RHYTHM

0:26:060:26:09

Hey!

0:26:260:26:27

BANG! BANG! BANG!

0:26:280:26:30

RHYTHM FADES

0:26:300:26:33

RHYTHM BUILDS RAPIDLY

0:26:330:26:35

Hey!

0:26:480:26:49

-What did you think of that, Michelle?

-Wicked!

0:26:530:26:55

It's amazing you can make music out of rubbish.

0:26:550:26:57

Yeah! Told you you could.

0:26:570:26:58

See you next time on Totally Rubbish.

0:26:580:27:01

Why don't you have a go

0:27:010:27:02

at making your very own Splat Attack sauce bottle?

0:27:020:27:05

Or a sweet wrapper draughts game...

0:27:070:27:10

..a CD hovercraft balloon...

0:27:100:27:11

..or a plastic bag bag?

0:27:130:27:15

And start collecting some old sponge...

0:27:170:27:20

..leftover party balloons and out-of-date rice...

0:27:200:27:23

..and an egg box and an old plastic bottle

0:27:230:27:25

for next time on Totally Rubbish.
