Episode 27 WHOOPS I MISSED THE BUS

Hello and welcome to another jam-packed,

fun filled edition of Whoops I Missed The Bus.

These two are up to something odd again.

cos we've got TV's greatest duo, Laura and Myles.

I've watched so much,

I could probably make some kind of CBBC movie out of it.

Leading the pack this week

and bringing an air of class to our operation,

it's everybody's favourite vlogger named Laura. Laura.

My favourite show this week has been Absolute Genius Super Tech.

The gadgets, the games, the...

Stop! Stop!

Ooh!

..crashes.

Well, I've been paying attention and I reckon

I can create the perfect technological futuristic outfit.

Let's go.

Ah, yes, I know what you're thinking -

how ABSOLUTELY GENIUS of me!

What do you mean that's not funny? Oh, really?

I thought that was funny.

This tech is still being designed and it's so cutting-edge

that it won't be available for ages

so we're really lucky to get our hands on it.

I've included everything, even my own virtual reality headset,

just like Dick and Dom's.

OK, I suppose if you look closely they do resemble

normal swimming goggles but I don't have Dick and Dom's budget.

So I might not have mastered the outfit choice for Absolute Genius

but I really love my tech so I reckon I can do my own show.

OK, Absolute Genius' intro is a bit fancier than mine.

Like I said, no budget.

My favourite part of the show definitely had to be the hoverboard.

-Oh, yeah, got to get your balance.

That is bizarre. I'm floating.

They've clearly got balance, coordination

and they know what they're doing on this show.

This reminded me of the time I tried to fix my own computer.

Oh, well. At least I still have my virtual reality headset.

Has anyone worked out that these really just are swimming goggles?

No? I think I can pull this off.

Hi. The Next Step is my favourite show

because I love dancing and gymnastics

and I really love dramatic and realistic shows.

Cracking! Next.

My favourite TV show is Nowhere Boys because it is mysterious

and spooky at some points. I like it when they do all the spells

and go into different universes.

It is really fun and enjoyable to watch.

Brilliant! Another.

I would like to make my shout out to Next Step.

I love dancing and it's really cool.

Scream Street, Danger Mouse and Blue Peter, they're all really awesome.

My favourite video is Naomi's Nightmares In Nature

because she finds such really cool animals.

And they're really cute and sometimes they're really terrifying.

This is powering everything that is going on in here today.

It's called a Micro Bit.

I absolutely love it.

What you can do is you can attach lots of different things to those,

like, instead of using your keyboard,

you could use, like, a banana.

-Oh, right.

-There's so many things you can do.

So every time you press that now, it fires

and then if you press this one...

it goes left and that one right.

So, Space Invaders controlled by pears.

This just shows you if you ever get stuck

and you don't know what to play, you can make your own.

It's like Ben Shires is next to me right now.

-Oh.

-Yes, it's true.

-I hear there's a beat Ben going on at the moment.

Yeah, and sadly people have been doing just that.

There's been a lot of beating me on computer games

which I'm not happy about.

-We're about to go on stage later, aren't we?

-Yes.

I went out and vlogged some for our own vlog earlier

and the set is amazing.

It's so bright and neon and colourful.

Out and about...

Just come off stage, all my nerves are gone.

It was so much fun, it was so good

but now I've got to go sign some autographs.

They've even given me a pile of cards of my own face on them.

It's great, all the little people are coming here

and they are learning stuff about the digital environment

that we live in, science and technology and coding,

-so it's brilliant.

-The fact they get to come here

-and meet some of their favourite CBBC stars from, like, Eve.

-Yeah.

And they're all down there signing autographs for them,

so they actually feel like they're part of CBBC, so it's been great.

So, that's it. It's the end of the day. It's been a really fun day,

there's been loads of tech, got to chat to loads of cool CBBC stars,

play loads of games, even got to play around with the Micro Bit.

I think now it's time to go home and have a cup of tea.

Ooh, where am I going?

Junior Bake Off.

-Yeah, maybe a little bit.

Where does the camera go and where does it stop?

Just Sam and Mark staring up forever as it zooms off to space.

But this is about baking, not space and I love baking programmes.

This is like Matilda And The Ramsay Bunch

but they're not doing all the Hollywood things.

It's just British. It's baking.

-Jam roly-poly.

-Yes!

-Yes!

-Love it.

And jam roly-polies. They're so excited.

The judges give the bakers an idea of what they're

looking for in this challenge

and it does sound challenging, as a challenge would suggest.

So we need a neat, tight swirl of the jam

and a nice, soft dough with no cracks.

We're also looking for a good, doughy texture

and a smooth custard sauce.

You will not find any of that, sir, in my jam roly-poly.

The guys only had 90 minutes for this challenge which isn't long,

especially considering it takes me about 90 minutes to decide

if I want to buy a jam roly-poly if I'm just treating myself,

if I'm in the shop and I'm like, "Shall I buy a jam roly-poly?"

I'll treat myself and buy a whole jam roly-poly. Don't judge me.

What worries me though is that the bakers,

they stop baking to have a chat with the camera.

I usually have brothers and sisters around

so it's quite good having my own space for once.

Stop distracting them, they only have an hour.

-How's it going, buddy?

-No.

Tell me about the consistency that you're looking for.

-Stop talking.

-How's it going?

Making jam roly-poly.

Oh, I'm just going to buy one from the shops.

And then the judges describe to them

what an ideal jam roly-poly looks like.

Good roll, nice swirls, even distribution of the jam.

Nice swirls.

I've never eaten anything and thought, "Nice swirls."

During school we used to have cooking lessons

and one time we had to bring in ingredients to make a healthy dish.

I made pizza. Everyone else did fruit salads. Pizza though?

My argument was that it was kind of healthy

if you just cut it up into very tiny slices and then sort of rationed

those very tiny slices out over the period of like two months.

The week after that though we had to make a cake

and I accidentally set my strawberry trifle on fire.

Junior Bake Off does it much better. They know what they're doing.

I do like watching Junior Bake Off and seeing people making stuff.

Good seeing people put an effort into something they care about.

Not burning trifles, just like making good things.

And what's more of a good thing than making cakes, eh?

Family? Friends?

Sure, but mainly cake though, really.

Unless you've been living under a rock, you'll know that Blue Peter

set Radzi a huge challenge a few weeks ago.

He had to learn gymnastics. Proper gymnastics though

because this is a Blue Peter challenge after all,

so it was hardcore.

What we need to find out - which is the best apparatus for you

and which one you get on with.

So, what did he go on first?

-Nearly!

-That was good.

-I've never done this before.

Then the rings.

Will I do any better on the rings?

They always look fun, like a swinging version of monkey bars.

Yeah, and I think he found them really easy too.

-Oh, you've done it!

-Yes!

Looks pretty fun though.

You haven't just been doing gymnastics for fun.

-Oh.

-You're actually going to be performing at

the World Gymnastics Championships.

Yeah, but I'm sure he has years to train.

So, in just eight months' time, I'll be performing here!

I'm sure it's just a small, private event.

This huge arena will be home to the 2015 World Gymnastics Championships.

Where you'll be taking centre stage in front of 6,000 people.

-We should probably stop speaking now.

-Yeah.

-Yeah.

So, Radzi is training and showing his moves...

But I don't think they're that difficult, are they?

They're like peas in a pod, those two,

except they're not round or green and you couldn't eat them with chips.

Anyhoo, what would happen

if your pets turned into mini vlog stars themselves?

Something like this, I reckon.

Those boys think they can knock on someone's door,

call it a wind-up and get away with it?

Why, if they ever knocked on my door, I'd... Ooh! Was that them?

Did they knock?

What do you use for your fur to get it so lovely and shiny?

I love you, Tracy Beaker! You can have a run on my wheel any time!

You wouldn't catch me going on Total Wipeout.

Ella takes the stage and they play my solo song instead of hers,

which is weird. What's even weirder is that they don't stop.

And then I realise she's doing my choreography to my song.

-This is your solo.

-I know.

There are two reasons why I stole her solo -

because the solo's good.

It is better than any dance I could have ever come up with.

And secondly, because it might throw her off

so much that she blows her chance of even winning this thing.

As I said to her,

I will do anything I can to win this competition.

I'm really starting to enjoy this now

but I mustn't lose concentration.
