You're watching X-Ray, the programme that fights | :00:00. | :00:00.
Tonight, the gardener who left his customers | :00:00. | :00:20.
We expose the truth and track down the rogues and we will not take no | :00:21. | :00:24.
for an answer. Tonight, the gardener | :00:25. | :00:31.
who left his customers You open the curtains every morning | :00:32. | :00:34.
and this is what we see. This is a constant reminder of how | :00:35. | :00:40.
we have been treated. The recruitment scams, | :00:41. | :00:43.
ripping off job hunters like Tia. I thought that a company actually | :00:44. | :00:47.
wanted to employ me. And I'll be finding out how you can | :00:48. | :00:50.
sell your home without having to pay Now Spring is on its way, | :00:51. | :00:58.
hopefully the weather will improve soon and we can look forward | :00:59. | :01:07.
to spending time in the gardens Places like this are full | :01:08. | :01:11.
of inspiration but if your outside space needs a proper makeover, | :01:12. | :01:18.
you might call in some expert help. Rachel's been to meet some viewers | :01:19. | :01:23.
who hired a trader from just up the road near Caerphilly | :01:24. | :01:28.
but they feel they've been led up Gardens come in all | :01:29. | :01:32.
shapes and sizes. But whether it's a vast parkland, | :01:33. | :01:41.
or something a bit more modest, we all want to make the most of that | :01:42. | :01:46.
little bit out outside space. Stewart and Nichola Fox-Mabe | :01:47. | :01:51.
from Ystrad Mynach had high hopes The garden originally sloped, | :01:52. | :01:56.
we had a very small flat area We decided on a log cabin | :01:57. | :02:03.
for some extra space. And we wanted some flat tiered areas | :02:04. | :02:09.
so we had some nice sitting areas. They hired landscaper | :02:10. | :02:15.
Matthew Jonno Robbins, Matt was very good at talking | :02:16. | :02:18.
about what he could do and the people he had | :02:19. | :02:26.
working for him. They paid him ?1,500 | :02:27. | :02:30.
upfront for materials. But progress was slow The first day | :02:31. | :02:33.
when he turned up there was him And then it went through a period | :02:34. | :02:41.
of him not turning up. The clutch has gone on the van, | :02:42. | :02:48.
the van's broken down. Then he dissappeared on holiday | :02:49. | :02:51.
for a week which we didn't know And that was after we'd | :02:52. | :02:54.
paid him another ?4,179.80. Then, Stewart and Nichola's lives | :02:55. | :03:01.
were turned upside down. We didn't know at the time | :03:02. | :03:06.
if it was operable did we? We'd told Matt about Stewart's | :03:07. | :03:15.
diagnosis and we explained that The couple had a new urgency | :03:16. | :03:23.
in their dealings In August we'd gone away for five | :03:24. | :03:32.
days to Poland. It was part of a bucket list trip | :03:33. | :03:40.
was't it, whilst waiting to find out if Stew's cancer | :03:41. | :03:44.
was operable or not. But little progress was made | :03:45. | :03:48.
while they were away. He turned up on one day | :03:49. | :03:54.
and that was to collect By now, they'd waited four | :03:55. | :03:57.
months and spent ?9,000. As you can see, the patio area | :03:58. | :04:16.
has not been started. These are supposed to be tiered | :04:17. | :04:20.
areas, as you can see there are bits There are supposed to be other | :04:21. | :04:24.
sleeper steps down here. We have got weeds growing | :04:25. | :04:28.
through it already. We had to get a surveyor to come | :04:29. | :04:35.
in and value what had been done and have a look at the works | :04:36. | :04:39.
and he condemned virtually There were basic errors, | :04:40. | :04:42.
like fences not properly supported and poor drainage which could have | :04:43. | :04:49.
made this wall collapse. The expert said the couple have | :04:50. | :04:53.
overpaid by ?7,000. But despite a court order | :04:54. | :04:57.
against him, Matthew Robbins It's been incredibly | :04:58. | :05:01.
difficult because Stewart has We are hoping he will be fit | :05:02. | :05:08.
enough to go back to work after his radiotherapy but we don't | :05:09. | :05:13.
know what the future holds. Stewart and Nicci have paid | :05:14. | :05:19.
to have the garden put right so it's hard to imagine what it would have | :05:20. | :05:26.
looked like when he left the site. But I don't have to travel far | :05:27. | :05:33.
to find someone still living with the mess Matthew | :05:34. | :05:37.
Robins had left behind. Jason Kemp hired him | :05:38. | :05:40.
to transform his family's garden but seven months on, his children | :05:41. | :05:44.
are still playing inside. Half of the garden was going to be | :05:45. | :05:49.
patio and the other half, There was one excuse | :05:50. | :05:53.
after another excuse. Being that he was held up | :05:54. | :05:58.
on another job. There problems with the weather, | :05:59. | :06:04.
his van had broken down, Matthew did remove a lot | :06:05. | :06:06.
of earth from the garden. But there is little sign | :06:07. | :06:11.
of the materials that Jason had paid One new fence post, a couple | :06:12. | :06:15.
of slats for the fence. Yes, some concrete bits | :06:16. | :06:24.
to put the fence post. Try as they might, they couldn't get | :06:25. | :06:29.
Matthew Robins to finish the job. The kids can't come out | :06:30. | :06:39.
and play in the garden. You open the curtains every moring | :06:40. | :06:42.
and look down and this This is a constant reminder of how | :06:43. | :06:45.
we have been treated. Back in Ystrad Mynach, | :06:46. | :06:49.
Nichola and Stewart have paid And they're still trying | :06:50. | :06:52.
to get their money back I felt so used and so stupid, | :06:53. | :06:58.
that I trusted him. And you'll be glad to hear that | :06:59. | :07:06.
Stewart's recovering well We asked Matthew Robbins | :07:07. | :07:20.
about all this, and he said there was nothing wrong | :07:21. | :07:25.
with his work at Stewart and Nicola's house, it | :07:26. | :07:29.
just wasn't finished. He says that until Stewart's | :07:30. | :07:31.
cancer was diagnosed, there was no urgency | :07:32. | :07:35.
to finish the job. He insists he did tell them | :07:36. | :07:37.
that he was going on holiday. He does admit he owes | :07:38. | :07:42.
the couple money. He hasn't said how much but says | :07:43. | :07:45.
it is less than the ?7,000 that he was ordered | :07:46. | :07:50.
to pay by the courts. In Jason's case, he says | :07:51. | :07:53.
the weather caused delays and was going to finish the job | :07:54. | :07:57.
but they fell out over payments. He says money was spent | :07:58. | :08:01.
on materials and skips. Matthew reckons he owes Jason ?1,500 | :08:02. | :08:07.
which he's promised to pay We'll be keeping an eye on this | :08:08. | :08:11.
to make sure that happens. And getting your garden into shape | :08:12. | :08:19.
is something that many of us are thinking about at | :08:20. | :08:22.
this time of year. If you're short of time or it's | :08:23. | :08:24.
a big job, it makes sense to hire someone to do it but how do | :08:25. | :08:29.
you choose the right person? James Pinder is an expert | :08:30. | :08:33.
on gardens, and trees James, you have heard some | :08:34. | :08:36.
horror stories haven't Yeah, you can have people | :08:37. | :08:40.
working at heights, with the wrong training, | :08:41. | :08:46.
the wrong tools, obviously trees being cut, you've got huge amounts | :08:47. | :08:48.
of timber and weight moving around, if that hits a roof, | :08:49. | :08:52.
building, greenhouse etc, that's it, There are mistakes just can | :08:53. | :08:55.
end up being costly? Yes, they can do, people often want | :08:56. | :09:00.
a quick bang for their buck, so they'll plant something that's | :09:01. | :09:04.
fast growing to fill up a space. The trouble with that is that | :09:05. | :09:08.
you can plant something fast growing, like this conifer, | :09:09. | :09:12.
which is fine if it's maintained and it's in a space where it can | :09:13. | :09:15.
either fully develop as a proper specimen tree or it's | :09:16. | :09:18.
maintained as a hedge. If it's left and things get out | :09:19. | :09:21.
of control, what we're left That hedge yeah, an outgrown hedge | :09:22. | :09:24.
and that is when it becomes really What about insurance, | :09:25. | :09:31.
is that important? Yes, mainly to protect the homeowner | :09:32. | :09:35.
but secondly also the contractor. You need to make sure the insurance | :09:36. | :09:40.
is for the actual job that you are asking that contractor | :09:41. | :09:43.
to do, there's no point having a contractor with insurance | :09:44. | :09:46.
for mowing lawns when he's cutting Lots of people may find | :09:47. | :09:49.
they get a knock on the door from somebody offering to do some | :09:50. | :09:55.
work in their gardens, saying they've spotted something | :09:56. | :09:57.
that needs to be done. If they're knocking on your door | :09:58. | :09:59.
and just basically asking to do jobs and inviting themselves | :10:00. | :10:05.
on your property, the best answer And we'll put that advice | :10:06. | :10:08.
on our website for you. Later in the programme, | :10:09. | :10:15.
James will be back with some quick tips to get your garden looking | :10:16. | :10:18.
good for years to come, Remember, if you've been stung | :10:19. | :10:20.
by a rogue trader or there's anything else you'd like us | :10:21. | :10:27.
to investigate, do give us a call. Still to come, DIY house | :10:28. | :10:40.
sales are on the rise - If it was through a local estate | :10:41. | :10:44.
agent would have been ?4,000, Now, the latest on the saga | :10:45. | :10:51.
of a couple from rural Powys who've spent months trying to get connected | :10:52. | :11:00.
to the outside world! Karen and Tim Thompson moved | :11:01. | :11:04.
to Tafolwern near Llanbrynmair But they didn't expect to spend four | :11:05. | :11:10.
months without a phone line We had four engineers all checking | :11:11. | :11:15.
each other's work basically because they didn't really go any | :11:16. | :11:23.
further from the first They'd had enough of trekking | :11:24. | :11:26.
to the top of their garden to try and get a mobile phone signal | :11:27. | :11:32.
Openreach are just totally inept. If you'd come to me in November | :11:33. | :11:36.
and said it would take six months to do this I would work with you, | :11:37. | :11:40.
that's fine, that's being honest and straight forward | :11:41. | :11:43.
but to constantly give promises After we contacted Openreach, | :11:44. | :11:45.
they apologised and promised Well, we're pleased to say that | :11:46. | :11:50.
Karen and Tim finally have a landline - in fact, | :11:51. | :11:57.
we were the first And their broadband should be | :11:58. | :12:00.
connected very soon. But, Karen and Tim's story really | :12:01. | :12:04.
struck a chord with Steve Watts Like them, he's been struggling | :12:05. | :12:10.
to get BT Openreach to give him a working phone line but his battle | :12:11. | :12:17.
has been going on for nine years! And all that time, he's been | :12:18. | :12:24.
charged for the connection. BT Openreach have promised us | :12:25. | :12:29.
they'll investigate his case as well Looking for a job can be stressful | :12:30. | :12:33.
at the best of times but as I've been finding out, | :12:34. | :12:39.
it's a risky business too. Technology has revolutionized | :12:40. | :12:45.
the way we look for work. Many of us now post our CVs on job | :12:46. | :12:50.
hunting websites, hoping they'll catch the eye | :12:51. | :12:53.
of potential employers. 23-year-old Tia Hart from Caerphilly | :12:54. | :12:57.
had spent months looking for work. I was just sitting in the house, | :12:58. | :13:07.
I was going crazy bored so I wanted something to do, because | :13:08. | :13:11.
I've always worked. Last Autumn Tia uploaded her CV | :13:12. | :13:14.
on a number of job hunting websites. Out of the blue she received | :13:15. | :13:18.
an e-mail from an advertising firm They told her they were opening | :13:19. | :13:23.
a new office in Cardiff It was ?9.50 an hour | :13:24. | :13:30.
and you could have 30 days off a year, it was really good hours, | :13:31. | :13:38.
really good location, The company told Tia they needed | :13:39. | :13:41.
to fill the position quickly, so there wouldn't be time to do | :13:42. | :13:55.
a face-to-face interview. It was all done over | :13:56. | :13:59.
the phone instead. Well, they seemed quite | :14:00. | :14:02.
professional, they were asking have you ever done any receptionist jobs | :14:03. | :14:05.
before, what's your experience, how much experience have | :14:06. | :14:09.
you got and it just seemed, Three days later she received | :14:10. | :14:11.
an e-mail offering her the job. But there was one more thing | :14:12. | :14:18.
she needed to do. They told me that I needed | :14:19. | :14:22.
a background check because I might So they sent me the link and was, | :14:23. | :14:25.
like, here's the link for you. So then they asked for my address, | :14:26. | :14:31.
my national insurance. I put all my passport | :14:32. | :14:34.
details into it. Yeah, they asked for ?99.99 | :14:35. | :14:38.
But after she paid them, I tried phoning them and it just | :14:39. | :14:47.
kept ringing and ringing. And then the next day I tried | :14:48. | :14:53.
phoning the number again and it kept ringing and ringing and ringing | :14:54. | :14:59.
and within a week or two, I thought that I'd actually finally | :15:00. | :15:01.
got something and that a company And I was so happy at the thought | :15:02. | :15:07.
of it and then the fact that I hadn't, I was gutted, | :15:08. | :15:13.
absolutely gutted. We've discovered that Tia's one | :15:14. | :15:18.
of many jobseekers around the country who been | :15:19. | :15:20.
duped by fake company, The company's website looks | :15:21. | :15:23.
sleek and professional. They've stolen the design | :15:24. | :15:32.
from a genuine marketing company based in New Zealand, | :15:33. | :15:38.
that has nothing to do with them. And what about Ideal 1 - | :15:39. | :15:44.
the company that charges ?100 a go to carry out background | :15:45. | :15:47.
security checks? Again, it looks like the real deal | :15:48. | :15:48.
and even has links on its site to police and government | :15:49. | :15:55.
departments. But click on those links | :15:56. | :16:00.
and they just lead back So how easy is it to set up | :16:01. | :16:02.
bogus sites like these? The websites, although they look | :16:03. | :16:10.
sophisticated and quite sleek, require very little IT | :16:11. | :16:12.
skills to put together. You can just, almost, | :16:13. | :16:15.
capture a third party website and I can see all the code | :16:16. | :16:17.
being used to generate the website and then I can just save that | :16:18. | :16:20.
and launch that on my own servers. All that's really required | :16:21. | :16:24.
is limited IT skills, But our investigation has revealed | :16:25. | :16:25.
that Quackers Outdoor Marketing is just one fake company | :16:26. | :16:39.
in a much bigger scam. We found at 10 phoney companies | :16:40. | :16:50.
all running the same racket. And because they steal elements | :16:51. | :16:53.
from legitimate businesses, it's hard to tell the rogues | :16:54. | :16:55.
from the real deal. We even found one fake company | :16:56. | :17:02.
which has gone to great lengths to explain why they couldn't meet | :17:03. | :17:05.
job candidates in person. "Now, unfortunately we are currently | :17:06. | :17:08.
renovating our new warehouse and this is proving | :17:09. | :17:11.
quite disruptive. Therefore face-to-face interviews | :17:12. | :17:12.
are not at this time convenient?" Keith Rosser works with police | :17:13. | :17:24.
to crack down on recruitment fraud and has been tracking | :17:25. | :17:27.
this scam for months. Commonly you now have fraudsters | :17:28. | :17:32.
who would pose as the employer but also then pose as a third party | :17:33. | :17:34.
company the employer passes the jobseeker to for other types | :17:35. | :17:37.
of services, whether it's insurance, immigration, visa, travel | :17:38. | :17:39.
or, obviously in this If someone is referred to a company | :17:40. | :17:41.
for a security check, what's the best way | :17:42. | :17:49.
to check out that company? So, police checks England and Wales | :17:50. | :17:51.
are only specifically for certain sectors, predominantly healthcare, | :17:52. | :17:54.
education and security. So if you're not working in one | :17:55. | :17:55.
of those 3 sectors the chances Police checks England and Wales | :17:56. | :17:58.
are done through the the DBS. Generally they cost | :17:59. | :18:06.
between ?26 and ?46. So if you're being asked | :18:07. | :18:08.
for a figure that's anywhere near ?100, again, chances | :18:09. | :18:11.
are that's going to be a scam. You can go to the DBS site, | :18:12. | :18:16.
which is part of the Home Office and they have lists of companies | :18:17. | :18:21.
who are able to carry out police checks and check on there that | :18:22. | :18:24.
a company you're being passed to can actually carry out | :18:25. | :18:27.
police checks first. The police are actively | :18:28. | :18:32.
investigating this scam, but there's little chance | :18:33. | :18:34.
that victims, like Tia, I was already out of work | :18:35. | :18:36.
so for them to just find it okay to just take my money when I didn't | :18:37. | :18:44.
really have it at the time, So a horrible experience for Tia | :18:45. | :18:47.
and if you're desperately looking for work, it's the last | :18:48. | :18:53.
thing you need. I've come to Careers Wales | :18:54. | :18:55.
here in Caerphilly. Today they're holding a workshop | :18:56. | :18:57.
to help people steer their way through the minefield | :18:58. | :18:59.
of job hunting! But are people here aware | :19:00. | :19:01.
that the personal information on their CVs could be | :19:02. | :19:04.
misused by scammers? You got to do it to get a job, | :19:05. | :19:13.
cos most people want CVs online. I've got references on there | :19:14. | :19:17.
from different employers, which she's just told me I've got | :19:18. | :19:19.
to take off cos it's their personal Were you aware that there | :19:20. | :19:22.
are scammers, out there using info? It is really worrying, | :19:23. | :19:36.
house numbers, phone numbers So how can you protect yourself | :19:37. | :19:41.
from these kinds of scams? Matthew Cadman, is a careers advisor | :19:42. | :19:50.
here. Should people ever offer pay money | :19:51. | :19:52.
up front to a company Not at all, recruitment agencies | :19:53. | :19:55.
we deal with they don't tend to charge administration fees | :19:56. | :20:01.
they charge the companies who they're recruiting for rather | :20:02. | :20:03.
than people who are There are plenty of places you can | :20:04. | :20:05.
go to find out whether these people are bona fide, you can | :20:06. | :20:09.
get their details, their contact details and company name | :20:10. | :20:11.
and you can research those. This is a cruel scam though, | :20:12. | :20:20.
targeting people like those we've Yeah, we help hundreds of people | :20:21. | :20:22.
daily, nationally with their job search, and we see how enthusiastic | :20:23. | :20:28.
they are to actually find work. And so if they're asked to pay | :20:29. | :20:35.
a hundred pounds, which in all reality at seven pounds an hour, | :20:36. | :20:38.
you could cover that in two shifts, I think cruel is the right | :20:39. | :20:41.
word to use when dealing Well, from selling yourself | :20:42. | :20:48.
to a potential employer, In the past, selling your | :20:49. | :20:54.
home was straightforward. Your local estate agent would pop | :20:55. | :21:03.
round, take the details All you needed to do | :21:04. | :21:05.
was get your house spick and span, ready for those | :21:06. | :21:12.
all-important viewings. Presentation is as important | :21:13. | :21:13.
as ever. But these days more and more of us | :21:14. | :21:22.
are dusting off the traditional ways Most high street estate agents | :21:23. | :21:26.
will market your property on the internet - there's | :21:27. | :21:29.
nothing new there. But there's a growing number | :21:30. | :21:33.
of online only estate agents - offering a more hands-off approach | :21:34. | :21:36.
to selling your house... Many of them offer the services | :21:37. | :21:38.
you'd get from a traditional They'll value your property, | :21:39. | :21:48.
provide photos and floor plans - The big difference is that you'll | :21:49. | :21:54.
need to do a bit more of the legwork, and that usually | :21:55. | :22:02.
means conducting But if that doesn't faze you, | :22:03. | :22:04.
there are big savings to be made. One couple who are quids | :22:05. | :22:09.
in are Colin and Elaine Combstock, After living in this house for 40 | :22:10. | :22:12.
years, they decided to downsize So talk to me through the figures | :22:13. | :22:16.
then - how much did you save by ditching | :22:17. | :22:28.
the traditional estate agent? So with selling online, | :22:29. | :22:32.
it was a one off fee of ?882. So if you went through a local | :22:33. | :22:35.
estate agent they would have had about 1.5% on there, | :22:36. | :22:41.
so that would have been ?4,000, How did the hands-off approach | :22:42. | :22:43.
work for you though, Well, it was very hectic | :22:44. | :22:50.
but because we know the house ourselves, it's our house, | :22:51. | :22:55.
we've lived in it, we managed to tell the people all the history | :22:56. | :22:57.
belonging to the house as well. But some people say, | :22:58. | :23:00.
that having an impartial expert to do the viewings is better, | :23:01. | :23:07.
they're less emotionally attached to the property, | :23:08. | :23:09.
they can see the bigger picture. No, I think we done a better | :23:10. | :23:14.
job ourselves, we did. Unlike traditional estate agents, | :23:15. | :23:17.
online firms are often open Colin and Elaine had an e-mail | :23:18. | :23:19.
on Christmas Day to tell All that's left to do now is pack | :23:20. | :23:23.
up, ready for the big move. It will be sad to go obviously, | :23:24. | :23:37.
but I've got my memories, At the moment, online estate agents | :23:38. | :23:40.
only account for about 5% of all house sales, so it's | :23:41. | :23:45.
still quite a niche market. But it's growing all the time, | :23:46. | :23:48.
driven by homeowners So is there a still a place | :23:49. | :23:50.
for the middleman? He's been in the business | :23:51. | :23:53.
for more than 40 years. I think the expertise, | :23:54. | :24:05.
local knowledge are vital components of an estate agent's | :24:06. | :24:07.
job and can make all Local knowledge, in particular, | :24:08. | :24:19.
is a very important factor. But, say there was a house | :24:20. | :24:23.
for sale for ?300,000. The high street estate agent charges | :24:24. | :24:28.
1.5% commission, say. If they sold that house, | :24:29. | :24:30.
that means they would get ?4,500 It is a lot of money, | :24:31. | :24:32.
but it depends on the service Now, we consider that being | :24:33. | :24:38.
knowledgeable in our profession that we can get that difference | :24:39. | :24:41.
for you because of our expertise. We can earn that money, | :24:42. | :24:50.
we can improve on the ability But if the thought of paying agency | :24:51. | :24:53.
fees doesn't quite square up, there is another way | :24:54. | :24:58.
to sell your home. It requires a bit more effort, | :24:59. | :25:00.
and you have to know what you're doing, but it could save | :25:01. | :25:03.
you thousands of pounds. Market your own property, | :25:04. | :25:06.
sell it privately and make the most Carole Brook is one of a growing | :25:07. | :25:10.
number of homeowners using free classifieds sites | :25:11. | :25:20.
to sell their property. She's currently listing | :25:21. | :25:25.
this terraced house The website may not have the same | :25:26. | :25:27.
scope as property sites like Zoopla and Rightmove, but for Carole, | :25:28. | :25:37.
that's not an issue. If people are local, | :25:38. | :25:41.
then it's the local site that they will look at to see | :25:42. | :25:43.
what is available in their local area, and if people are buying | :25:44. | :25:46.
from away then, again, they would look specifically | :25:47. | :25:48.
at a site for the town or city that they're looking for, | :25:49. | :25:51.
to see what's available. This is the second property | :25:52. | :25:57.
Carole's sold online. She plans to use a solicitor | :25:58. | :25:59.
to do the legal work, But while the house | :26:00. | :26:01.
is on the market, she does pretty much everything else - | :26:02. | :26:06.
including the viewings. Most people are genuine that | :26:07. | :26:11.
want to come and buy a house so I think you can soon pick | :26:12. | :26:14.
up if somebody isn't and you are with them throughout | :26:15. | :26:16.
the whole viewing process and if you wanted to you could have | :26:17. | :26:19.
other members of the family there too just to make sure that | :26:20. | :26:22.
everything goes smoothly. So whether you sell your home | :26:23. | :26:29.
on the cheap, plump for your local estate agent, or go with an online | :26:30. | :26:33.
agency, there's more choice than ever before of how | :26:34. | :26:35.
to sell your home. Just don't forget rule number one - | :26:36. | :26:37.
make sure your property is looking You know, I've spent so long tidying | :26:38. | :26:41.
this place up. Now if you are selling your house, | :26:42. | :26:44.
we all know that gardens But it's easy to spend a fortune, | :26:45. | :26:59.
year in year out, trying So what's the best way | :27:00. | :27:03.
to get value for money? Let's get some top | :27:04. | :27:09.
tips from James now. I think the crucial one has got | :27:10. | :27:12.
to be planning, think it through, have a look at the books, | :27:13. | :27:19.
go on the internet, find out how big things get, | :27:20. | :27:22.
where they like to be and make sure they're going to be | :27:23. | :27:25.
going in the right place. Secondly you want longevity, | :27:26. | :27:27.
don't be afraid to buy something that's a little bit more money | :27:28. | :27:30.
but gives you a variety of colour throughout the year, | :27:31. | :27:33.
something like this schimea, you've got beautiful red | :27:34. | :27:34.
berries this time of year, yet this peoris will have small | :27:35. | :27:37.
delicate flowers at a different I think the final tip is go steady, | :27:38. | :27:39.
have patience, don't go wading in with power tools, | :27:40. | :27:46.
you'll do more damage than good, try and work out what the plants | :27:47. | :27:48.
are before you rip them out. Brilliant, James, | :27:49. | :27:52.
thank you very much. And that's all we've | :27:53. | :27:54.
got time for this week. But remember if there's anything | :27:55. | :27:55.
you want us to investigate, Next week: Kennel owners Tony | :27:56. | :27:58.
and Linda trusted a local firm to build them a new computer, | :27:59. | :28:11.
but it's gone to the dogs. Very stressful, I feel as though | :28:12. | :28:15.
I have been ripped off. Hello, I'm Riz Lateef | :28:16. | :28:23.
with your 90 second update. 16-year-old Bailey Gwynne died | :28:24. | :29:01.
after he was stabbed in his school | :29:02. | :29:05. |
