and welcome to the programme where your calls help | :00:00. | :00:08.
Every parent's worst nightmare, | :00:09. | :00:21.
the young family attacked in their home. | :00:22. | :00:25.
I think about it every night, of how someone can brand knife | :00:26. | :00:34.
and a hammer in front of a two year old, it's disgusting. | :00:35. | :00:40.
And find out why getting waist high in water is all in a day's work | :00:41. | :00:43.
Hello and welcome to Crimewatch Roadshow. | :00:44. | :01:07.
The phone lines are open and we're asking for your help with appeals | :01:08. | :01:10.
Can you identify the man targeting girls | :01:11. | :01:17.
He's hurt my baby, he's hurt my child. | :01:18. | :01:27.
This man needs catching so he can't do it to other children. | :01:28. | :01:30.
And Michelle and the team have made their way to Stockton-on-Tees | :01:31. | :01:32.
where I think she's in danger of getting a bit of a soaking. | :01:33. | :01:39.
This is the Tees Barrage White Water Centre. | :01:40. | :01:42.
Fire teams from all over the north of England come here to practice | :01:43. | :01:45.
A bit later I'll be the one they're rescuing so, | :01:46. | :01:48.
Now any parent will tell you that there's nothing more terrifying | :01:49. | :01:59.
Which is why police desperately need your help with our next appeal. | :02:00. | :02:03.
In January last year three masked men burst into a home near York, | :02:04. | :02:06.
threatening the family inside, which included a two year old girl. | :02:07. | :02:13.
I saw the knife, really, I guess, that was the thing I was focusing | :02:14. | :02:20.
on. My next thought was, they are going to kill us. Show me where the | :02:21. | :02:27.
safe is. These kids, not men, kids, they have ruined my life and my | :02:28. | :02:34.
children's life. Ricky runs a busy pub in York, in the past he | :02:35. | :02:38.
collected his takings on a Monday afternoon, you would bring them | :02:39. | :02:41.
home, ready for banking the next day. In January last year, this made | :02:42. | :02:55.
him a target for thieves. I had spent two or three hours down there | :02:56. | :02:59.
in the bar. We had been away over Christmas and New Year. Collect the | :03:00. | :03:04.
takings, look at the cash, bring it back, put it in the safe. He lives | :03:05. | :03:09.
with his wife, Louise, and their three children, in Askham Richard | :03:10. | :03:21.
and that evening, all of them were at home. Normal, came home, put the | :03:22. | :03:25.
money in the save, settling in, watching television, as you do, the | :03:26. | :03:33.
daughter was playing. While they all cuddled up, there are other two | :03:34. | :03:36.
children, aged 12 and eight, were upstairs. Normal night, normal | :03:37. | :03:42.
routine, nice television time. Normal, normal night-time. | :03:43. | :03:50.
Outside, three men were lying in wait. It would not be unusual of an | :03:51. | :04:02.
evening, and it was no different on that Monday, I had Boris in and out, | :04:03. | :04:07.
I did not lock the door every time I let him out to go outside. The men | :04:08. | :04:11.
seized their opportunity and burst inside. Armed with a machete and | :04:12. | :04:21.
hammer, they also grabbed a knife. Three masked men stormed the living | :04:22. | :04:26.
room. They were screaming, where is the money? I saw the knife, really, | :04:27. | :04:31.
the machete was the thing I was focusing on. My next thought was, | :04:32. | :04:36.
they are going to kill us. My initial thing was to protect the | :04:37. | :04:40.
children. The intruders were not going to let anybody out of their | :04:41. | :04:44.
sight, one of them enforced Louise and two of her children a bathroom. | :04:45. | :04:48.
By the time we knew what was going on, I heard a lot of shouting. The | :04:49. | :04:54.
men were after one thing. Show me where that safe is! It's upstairs. | :04:55. | :05:01.
Ricky was pushed upstairs. He was ransacking through our bedroom, | :05:02. | :05:04.
looking for the key to the safe. How do I get into the save? The keys on | :05:05. | :05:10.
the bedside table! -- safe. The attackers took jewellery and ?20,000 | :05:11. | :05:18.
in cash and ran downstairs. The family's ordeal was not finished. We | :05:19. | :05:23.
thought it was over but then the big guy came back out, they could not | :05:24. | :05:26.
work the remote control for the gates, they could not get out. The | :05:27. | :05:31.
family were led into the nursery, Ricky was forced to open the gate as | :05:32. | :05:37.
the attackers fled in their car. I was physically sick. I was scared. | :05:38. | :05:45.
So scared. For my daughter and my family. I was in a bit of a daze, it | :05:46. | :05:52.
was almost like slow motion. The children were terrified. What makes | :05:53. | :06:05.
it more shocking, the robbers were repaired to utilise the three | :06:06. | :06:10.
children to facilitate the parent corporation in this terrifying | :06:11. | :06:13.
ordeal. This was even more terrifying, because it happened in | :06:14. | :06:18.
the family home. More than one year on from the attack, the effects are | :06:19. | :06:27.
still being felt by the family. My eldest has anxiety attacks as a | :06:28. | :06:31.
result, he has been affected the most, you do not want children to | :06:32. | :06:36.
have that. I think about it every night, to brandish a knife and a | :06:37. | :06:39.
hammer and a kitchen knife like they did, in front of a two-year-old, | :06:40. | :06:45.
absolutely... Disgusting! 15 minutes of what these kids... I call them | :06:46. | :06:52.
kids, they are not men, they are kids, those 15 minutes, they have | :06:53. | :06:55.
ruined my life and the life of my children. They need to be caught. | :06:56. | :07:05.
Well a truly horrendous burglary there. | :07:06. | :07:07.
what descriptions do we have of these three men? | :07:08. | :07:11.
The first man is described as stocky, weighing approximately 16 | :07:12. | :07:19.
stone, aged in his mid to late 20s, described as having bulging eyes. | :07:20. | :07:23.
The other two men are described as five foot eight, and six foot, both | :07:24. | :07:28.
of skinny build, aged in their early 20s. All three were wearing | :07:29. | :07:34.
balaclavas, and dark clothes. All three had a local Yorkshire accent. | :07:35. | :07:41.
They stole ?20,000 and the family's white The white was found abandoned | :07:42. | :07:52.
in Hagg Lane near the village of Colton half an hour later. We are | :07:53. | :07:56.
interested in anybody who may have seen the Mercedes, as it's journeyed | :07:57. | :08:05.
southbound in the direction of the A64. There is also another vehicle | :08:06. | :08:13.
you are interested in. We suspect that a silver Vauxhall Corsa was | :08:14. | :08:18.
used by the gang to get home,. And some jewellery was stolen. Yes, A | :08:19. | :08:27.
citrine pendant with pearls around it. Stored in a white Ogdens of | :08:28. | :08:38.
Harrogate jewellery box. There is a ?5,000 reward for information | :08:39. | :08:42.
leading to the arrest and conviction of these three men. | :08:43. | :08:51.
STUDIO: Now, we're half way through the European Championships | :08:52. | :08:53.
in France, and despite England, Wales and Northern Ireland doing | :08:54. | :08:56.
well so far, the tournament has been marred by some of the worst violence | :08:57. | :08:59.
Well, British police have been helping the French authorities | :09:00. | :09:04.
out there hunt down those behind the violence. | :09:05. | :09:06.
To find out more I'm joined by Detective Inspector | :09:07. | :09:08.
Frankie Westoby from the National Investigation Team. | :09:09. | :09:10.
You are going to show us some previously unseen footage. But you | :09:11. | :09:20.
want to stress that you are only looking to trace those committing | :09:21. | :09:24.
the violence. People who are just in the footage, who are innocent, the | :09:25. | :09:28.
majority of fans who have been out to France have not committed any | :09:29. | :09:34.
offence, we are interested only in a small minority. This is the first | :09:35. | :09:41.
clip. Thrown a bottle towards the Russian fans, to the right... Also | :09:42. | :09:46.
threw a chair earlier. This mail and that mail as well... That voice is | :09:47. | :09:53.
one of the spot is that we could hear there, talk me through what is | :09:54. | :09:56.
happening here and where this took place. -- male. This was on a Friday | :09:57. | :10:04.
night, in Marseilles, violence between English and Russian fans, | :10:05. | :10:09.
and as you can see, throwing chairs, tables at each other, at the police, | :10:10. | :10:15.
pyrotechnics being used... And to disperse it all, the police in | :10:16. | :10:18.
France put in tear gas to stop the fighting. We can see that, June ten. | :10:19. | :10:25.
Now, another clip. Talk me through this footage, when did this take | :10:26. | :10:31.
place. Marseille, again. On the Saturday before the match, the main | :10:32. | :10:34.
town square, fighting between the Russians and the English fans, | :10:35. | :10:40.
orchestrated attack on the English friends, we recognise that, and a | :10:41. | :10:43.
small minority of English fans have got involved, throwing bottles, | :10:44. | :10:49.
throwing chairs. Fighting with other fans, and throwing things at the | :10:50. | :10:54.
police. In a moment we will see some stills that you have managed to | :10:55. | :11:01.
retrieve. A number of arrests have been made but only a small man | :11:02. | :11:06.
origin relates to English fans. Over 500 arrests, only 41 are English | :11:07. | :11:10.
fans, the majority of those are for drug or drunkenness offences, not | :11:11. | :11:16.
for violence offences. It is a man origin. These stills that you have | :11:17. | :11:20.
been able to get, these are people that you want to identify, some very | :11:21. | :11:27.
clear images. -- it is a minority. And looking at the next page as | :11:28. | :11:34.
well, very clear images. Many viewers may have seen the tragic | :11:35. | :11:37.
case of the England supporter, Stuart Gray, from Leicestershire, we | :11:38. | :11:42.
can see him now, here he is, he's fighting for his life after being | :11:43. | :11:47.
attacked, what is the story? Stuart Gray was out in Marseilles, the | :11:48. | :11:50.
Saturday before the match, he has been attacked and left unconscious | :11:51. | :11:55.
in the street, we have some good news, yesterday, he opened his eyes. | :11:56. | :12:00.
This is in, in the blue T-shirt. And in the next image... Something has | :12:01. | :12:07.
obviously been hit against him, he ended up being in a coma. He was in | :12:08. | :12:12.
a coma, but yesterday he opened his eyes for the first time, fantastic. | :12:13. | :12:18.
Any footage, anybody who saw anything. For that offence we do not | :12:19. | :12:28.
yet have any suspect, so we would like to help the French police with | :12:29. | :12:33.
their investigation. People may be thinking that they recognise | :12:34. | :12:35.
somebody drinking in the bar, not involved in the violence, worried | :12:36. | :12:39.
about getting them into trouble, but you are not interested in anybody | :12:40. | :12:42.
who just happen to be there, not causing trouble. Just the | :12:43. | :12:46.
troublemakers, we are not interested in the fans who were there to watch | :12:47. | :12:50.
the football, they behaved very well. If you have any photographs of | :12:51. | :12:58.
footage, get in touch with the Central football unit at that e-mail | :12:59. | :13:00.
address. Well, here at the white water centre | :13:01. | :13:15.
in Stockton-on-Tees things have As you can see, there is quite a lot | :13:16. | :13:18.
of water coming up all around me, I'm hoping those guys over | :13:19. | :13:23.
there are going to rescue me! Take a look at the day that we spend | :13:24. | :13:30.
with another team who feel very at home in the water. This unassuming | :13:31. | :13:32.
lake is the training ground of the Yorkshire and Humber Marine unit. | :13:33. | :13:36.
This team of highly trained police officers covers a huge area, it | :13:37. | :13:43.
specialises in underwater searches, and looks after 180 miles of | :13:44. | :13:47.
coastline, that includes some of Britain's busiest ports. The unit is | :13:48. | :13:56.
led by Sergeant Stephen Burse. This training exercise involves the | :13:57. | :13:59.
recovery of a weapon, sawn off shotgun, used in crime, secreted in | :14:00. | :14:04.
this lake, that is our belief for this training operation, so we are | :14:05. | :14:09.
going to dive for its. Time to put them only operated mini submarine to | :14:10. | :14:15.
the test. -- put the remotely operated. The weapon is on a sunken | :14:16. | :14:21.
boat, somewhere in these waters, known as eight acre lake, it can get | :14:22. | :14:25.
as deep as 15 metres, they will really need this ROV to help them | :14:26. | :14:33.
track it down. Very sensitive, very difficult, especially if there is a | :14:34. | :14:40.
current. We are all trained on how to use it. Some people have more of | :14:41. | :14:46.
a knack for it than others. PC Edgar does have the knack, it is not long | :14:47. | :14:50.
before he finds the boat on the lake bed. And then... Bingo! Nice work, | :14:51. | :14:57.
time to send dive the lead down to recover the weapon. -- Diver Lee. I | :14:58. | :15:06.
have been here for two years, it is a close-knit team, ten of us here. | :15:07. | :15:12.
More like a family, a lot of trust involved, with diving, and safety, | :15:13. | :15:18.
when you are in the water, like Lee is right now, he knows that his | :15:19. | :15:22.
safety is in our care. You have got to have a love for the water and | :15:23. | :15:26.
diving but this is not diving in the Caribbean! No visibility, the | :15:27. | :15:32.
majority, through the muck and the grime, 80% of it, unfortunately, | :15:33. | :15:33.
looking for missing people. We've retrieved it, left it on this | :15:34. | :15:49.
surface and we would wait for CSI to come and video, that being made safe | :15:50. | :15:53.
and banked and taken away. A good training session all round. But the | :15:54. | :15:59.
day is not over yet. Lee is soon back in the water. Are you receiving | :16:00. | :16:02.
may? All received, thank you. The next | :16:03. | :16:27.
exercise is safety training. They are going to simulate a dive in | :16:28. | :16:30.
distress. This time, the remote sub is used to monitor the exercise. You | :16:31. | :16:33.
have a lot going on when you are dive, especially the umbilicals. If | :16:34. | :16:40.
anything was to go wrong, it could mean life or death. No response from | :16:41. | :16:48.
the diver. For every dive, that has to be a stand-by dive at the ready. | :16:49. | :16:58.
Although time is of the essence, the team still preps the stand-by diver | :16:59. | :17:07.
with the utmost care. Roger follows the umbilical. We do not know why he | :17:08. | :17:12.
is unconscious, why he is not breathing. We don't know if there is | :17:13. | :17:22.
a medical issue. Or if the air has a problem. Roger must work quickly to | :17:23. | :17:30.
do checks, and switch Lee's air supplied to the tanks on his back. | :17:31. | :17:35.
Most importantly, he needs to get him back to shore. | :17:36. | :17:46.
Lee's buoyancy vest is inflated, meaning Roger can quickly bring him | :17:47. | :17:54.
to the surface and over to the waiting medical team. Get the mask | :17:55. | :18:03.
off! Personally, I thought it went very well. Quite a distance to | :18:04. | :18:08.
travel, got to the injured driver, checked him out and brought him | :18:09. | :18:16.
back, all in under five minutes. Training is over for today. | :18:17. | :18:19.
Preparation for the real-life dangers the sea and rivers will | :18:20. | :18:20.
throw at them. Well, we're staying above | :18:21. | :18:24.
water now... The water is really | :18:25. | :18:27.
getting high now. With me on the car roof | :18:28. | :18:30.
is Greg Tucker from The first question is, why are we | :18:31. | :18:45.
doing this? The Fire Service are attending a lot more flooding | :18:46. | :18:49.
incidents. We attend incidents throughout the whole country so we | :18:50. | :18:54.
need to train regularly to make sure the Fire Service are able to carry | :18:55. | :18:59.
out the rescues and that very skilled rescues take place. So it is | :19:00. | :19:04.
really important for you guys to practice this scenario. The water is | :19:05. | :19:09.
coming thick and fast. How would you control these kind of situations? | :19:10. | :19:17.
The water is coming thick and fast. We cannot control it. We need to | :19:18. | :19:22.
think about securing the vehicle, as we have done there, to prevent it | :19:23. | :19:26.
moving any further, and then we can look at carrying out the rescue. | :19:27. | :19:30.
What we will do is secure the vehicle first of all before we | :19:31. | :19:35.
attempt to carry out the rescue. We can see the guys behind us now | :19:36. | :19:39.
starting to rescue us which is great. How will this work? I can see | :19:40. | :19:45.
them swimming over. It is important when we do perform the rescue that | :19:46. | :19:49.
we get someone across to assess the casualty. I am not injured, it is | :19:50. | :19:57.
all good. That the something we would be mindful of. If they're | :19:58. | :20:03.
worse to have us they would take the person who was injured first. -- if | :20:04. | :20:09.
there were two of us they would take the person who was injured first. | :20:10. | :20:13.
They have brought the sled across. We will transport you back to safety | :20:14. | :20:17.
on the sled. There are a number of lines on the sled so it makes its | :20:18. | :20:23.
appeal for you to get back across. I have got to get on there? Don't be | :20:24. | :20:29.
inclined to jump on it. That will be your instinct. Take your time. Then | :20:30. | :20:36.
will direct you. Listen to them and they will tell you what to do. OK, I | :20:37. | :20:52.
am on. Shuffle back. Right. So Ayr we will pull you back across the | :20:53. | :21:01.
river. Will you be OK, Greg?! I am fine, Michelle! You really get a | :21:02. | :21:06.
sense of the current here. Rav, as you can see, I have been safely | :21:07. | :21:10.
rescued but make sure you join me later because there is much more to | :21:11. | :21:16.
come! See you in a bit! | :21:17. | :21:23.
How to protect elderly loved ones from despicable thieves like this. | :21:24. | :21:30.
And who's looking over your shoulder? | :21:31. | :21:31.
The latest scam affecting people using cash machines. | :21:32. | :21:33.
I couldn't believe the cheek - the time | :21:34. | :21:35.
to take my card case out, pick five cards and leave the ones | :21:36. | :21:38.
But first, can you help with our latest selection | :21:39. | :21:44.
It is early in the morning. This bus has stopped that Cricklewood | :21:45. | :22:08.
Broadway in London. Three men go to the top deck. This guy slaps a | :22:09. | :22:13.
passenger around the back of his neck. When he asks why, they | :22:14. | :22:19.
retelling out. He is brutally assaulted without warning. The men | :22:20. | :22:24.
then get off the bus before it has even left the stop. The victim was | :22:25. | :22:28.
left with nasty swelling and bruises. We need your help to catch | :22:29. | :22:38.
these public transport nuisances. It is chucking out time for pubs and | :22:39. | :22:44.
clubs in Harrow. This guy chases after someone he has taken a dislike | :22:45. | :22:49.
into. What you are about to see is too graphic to show in full. The man | :22:50. | :22:55.
punches the victim in the back of the head who falls immediately. The | :22:56. | :22:59.
eye rate without continues to kick him while he is down. This man | :23:00. | :23:05.
caused a broken arm and nose. Let's catch him before his next night on | :23:06. | :23:10.
the town. Two men approach the outside of this | :23:11. | :23:14.
building in Mostyn Lane in Manchester. The first one | :23:15. | :23:18.
immediately starts graffiti in words across the door. Whilst he is | :23:19. | :23:23.
finishing up his painting, the other one pulls out a handgun. What are | :23:24. | :23:30.
they up to? Once the artwork is complete, man two fires several | :23:31. | :23:34.
rounds at the door. Man one also pulls out a gun and tries to fire. | :23:35. | :23:42.
When the gun doesn't work, he pulls another firearm from his pocket and | :23:43. | :23:45.
fires it at the door before running away. Police believe these men | :23:46. | :23:50.
planned this as a targeted attack, and would also like to trace a white | :23:51. | :23:54.
Ford focus, that the offenders are believed to have used to make their | :23:55. | :24:00.
getaway. We would like some names, please. | :24:01. | :24:02.

Now, to a rather cunning crime called shoulder-surfing. | :24:14. | :24:25.
If you see anyone lurking while you're using the cash | :24:26. | :24:27.
machine or at the tills, then beware. | :24:28. | :24:36.
I love shopping. I go shopping most days, now that I am retired. | :24:37. | :24:46.
466-year-old Mary Breslin, nothing beats a day at the shops. I like | :24:47. | :24:52.
going, even if it is just wandering around, trying not to spend too | :24:53. | :25:03.
much. Spend a bit, save a bit. But the shopping trip in March finished | :25:04. | :25:06.
without her spending a penny. I went into Tesco's because I needed an | :25:07. | :25:12.
Easter card. I popped in, I was not long. When it was time to pay, Mary | :25:13. | :25:18.
noticed a woman on her mobile phone. She was talking to someone on the | :25:19. | :25:23.
other checkout. She drew my attention that she was stood | :25:24. | :25:28.
sideways to me with her phone on her ear. Thinking nothing was unusual, | :25:29. | :25:34.
Mary finished paying and then left. I was about to get in my car and | :25:35. | :25:40.
this guy came rushing up. Can you tell me the way to the hospital, | :25:41. | :25:45.
please. He was quite in my face. He was asking for directions to your | :25:46. | :25:50.
hospital as if he was panicking. Wanting to be a good Samaritan, Mary | :25:51. | :25:56.
tried to help. He seemed to be in an urgent rush so I thought I have to | :25:57. | :26:00.
give what directions I can so he can get there quickly. But the man did | :26:01. | :26:06.
not seem to understand her simple directions. It would be far better | :26:07. | :26:11.
if you wrote it down for me. Draw me a map, I said, no, it would be | :26:12. | :26:17.
better to direct to you. I did notice he looked down by my pocket | :26:18. | :26:23.
on two occasions. The man began to get agitated. He seemed to then, all | :26:24. | :26:31.
of a sudden, lunge forward, grabbed my hands, shook it, kissed the back | :26:32. | :26:39.
of my hand, before he shot off. I became really suspicious. I thought, | :26:40. | :26:46.
something is very wrong here. As Mary was driving away, her | :26:47. | :26:51.
uneasiness groove. I got really suspicious, put my hand in my pocket | :26:52. | :26:56.
to see if my card wallet was there and discovered it was there, but the | :26:57. | :27:02.
class was broken. All of her bank cards had been stolen apart from one | :27:03. | :27:09.
store card. I was just shaking, really, really shaking. Within five | :27:10. | :27:17.
minutes, they had taken out ?1380 on my five cards. ?1300 is a vast | :27:18. | :27:22.
amount of money for me to lose. I just could not afford to lose that | :27:23. | :27:28.
type of money. So how was the money stolen? Mary was the victim of a | :27:29. | :27:36.
crime known as shoulder surfing. Shoulder surfing generally works by | :27:37. | :27:40.
a group of people working together, organised together. In very's case, | :27:41. | :27:45.
they have watched her in the supermarket, they have watched her | :27:46. | :27:50.
put her PIN into the chip and pin device or they have used a mobile | :27:51. | :27:55.
phone device to record her. They have led accosted her in the car | :27:56. | :27:59.
park and spoken to her and distracted her, and then they have | :28:00. | :28:04.
obtained Mary's cards from her and gone on to obtain cash from the | :28:05. | :28:11.
cards, having the PIN already. These people are able to empty bank | :28:12. | :28:15.
accounts. I could not believe the cheek, the cheek to have time to | :28:16. | :28:21.
take my card case out, go through it and pick out five cards, leave the | :28:22. | :28:24.
ones they didn't want and to put it back. It has had a very deep impact. | :28:25. | :28:32.
I never thought that I would be so shook up by what happened. It | :28:33. | :28:38.
really, really disturbed me for a long time, and still does. I lay | :28:39. | :28:44.
awake at night thinking about it. It is a horrible, horrible feeling to | :28:45. | :28:45.
think they can do that to you. Poor Mary, but sadly this kind | :28:46. | :28:50.
of crime is not that uncommon. With me is Paul Somerville | :28:51. | :28:53.
from North Yorkshire Police. Paul, you've got some | :28:54. | :28:55.
CCTV, haven't you? We have CCTV footage | :28:56. | :28:59.
of three men trying Mary's cards in Leeds city centre | :29:00. | :29:05.
just a few hours later How much money were they stealing? | :29:06. | :29:18.
We believe they have stolen up to ?1300 in very short notice. It is a | :29:19. | :29:24.
serious incident. What can people better do to protect themselves? If | :29:25. | :29:28.
you are using your debit card or a credit card, whether it is at an ATM | :29:29. | :29:33.
machine or a supermarket, cover your PIN and be extra vigilant of anyone | :29:34. | :29:38.
watching you. Be aware of the distraction techniques that people | :29:39. | :29:43.
will use. Poll, thank you. Shoulder surfing is a common incident. You | :29:44. | :29:45.
really Now, time for today's Wanted Faces | :29:46. | :29:54.
starting with this man Jake Whelan. Detectives want to | :29:55. | :29:57.
question him in connection with the murder of a man in Cardiff | :29:58. | :29:58.
earlier this month. Whelan is 23 and has links | :29:59. | :30:01.
to Kidderminster and Norwich He has a Kidderminster | :30:02. | :30:03.
accent and a tribal | :30:04. | :30:06.
tattoo on his left wrist. If you know where he is, don't | :30:07. | :30:08.
approach him, just dial 999. This slightly blurry | :30:09. | :30:11.
image is 33-year-old He was jailed for just | :30:12. | :30:12.
over three years for burglary offences | :30:13. | :30:15.

conditions Simpson also calls himself | :30:18. | :30:18.
Philip Jones, Gary Marshall, Detectives say he has a large nose | :30:19. | :30:22.
and bushy eyebrows He has links to Liverpool | :30:23. | :30:26.
and across Wales and Scotland. Detectives in Manchester | :30:27. | :30:31.
want to question him in connection with a burglary | :30:32. | :30:34.
at the home of an elderly lady Purcell is 24 and has | :30:35. | :30:37.
an Irish accent. He has links to Middlesex, Coventry, | :30:38. | :30:47.
Warwickshire, Bedfordshire, You may know him as John Radford | :30:48. | :30:49.
or James Bradford. He's also unsure of how old he is, | :30:50. | :31:03.
claiming to be 27, 28 and 29. Detectives in the Met | :31:04. | :31:07.
want to question him after a stolen car was involved in a serious crash | :31:08. | :31:09.
in which a woman suffered Radford has a London accent | :31:10. | :31:12.
and friends and family in the capital as well as | :31:13. | :31:15.
Essex and Manchester. and a tattoo of a dog | :31:16. | :31:18.
on his right calf. If you know where any of these men | :31:19. | :31:22.
are make sure you get in touch. Now, how a young teenager's routine | :31:23. | :31:30.
walk to school ended Help us catch the man | :31:31. | :31:33.
who tried to abduct her VOICEOVER: 13-year-old Louise Weston | :31:34. | :31:47.
from with her baby sister, she's like any other teenager. -- from | :31:48. | :31:52.
Hull. I like listening to music, going out with my friends, and I | :31:53. | :31:56.
love my family. She is happy-go-lucky, she always has a | :31:57. | :31:59.
smile on her face, she is away is happy to help people when she is out | :32:00. | :32:06.
and about, a really happy child. Two months ago, Louise was running late. | :32:07. | :32:12.
Louise was dashing about, trying to get ready for school, that morning, | :32:13. | :32:16.
I could not drop off like I normally did, so she started walking. She | :32:17. | :32:22.
left about ten, 15 minutes late for school that morning. I decided to | :32:23. | :32:34.
take the short cut route. It took her away from the main road, and | :32:35. | :32:38.
along the path behind a local golf course. I heard whistling noises, | :32:39. | :32:46.
from the bushes. I thought that it was the wind. I did not really think | :32:47. | :32:52.
that it was any thing, I carried on walking. Louise was being watched. | :32:53. | :33:08.
WHISTLING. How old are you? A man jumped out from the bushes and began | :33:09. | :33:20.
asking me questions. And then... Things took a frightening turn. He | :33:21. | :33:27.
tried to drag my coat off me, off my shoulder. He tried pulling at my | :33:28. | :33:34.
hair. I was really scared of what was going to happen next. He picked | :33:35. | :33:41.
me up, by my legs, and put me over the shoulder. I kicked him, I tried | :33:42. | :33:47.
walking away. For the man could do anything else, a dog walker appeared | :33:48. | :33:52.
in the distance. I was shouting, I was trying to make as much noise as | :33:53. | :33:58.
I could. He saw the dog walker, that is when he dropped me. The attacker | :33:59. | :34:05.
rode away, leaving behind a traumatised Louise, her first | :34:06. | :34:09.
thought was to run home to the safety of her mother. As she came | :34:10. | :34:13.
through the door, I could see that she had been crying, her hair was a | :34:14. | :34:18.
complete mess, completely shaken, I could not believe this kind of thing | :34:19. | :34:23.
happened. I was so angry, I still am so angry that somebody has done that | :34:24. | :34:31.
to my child. It is very concerning that the attacker was lying in wait, | :34:32. | :34:38.
for a potential victim. Obviously, preplanned, the patience to wait | :34:39. | :34:43.
there in the morning for the victim, Louise, who unfortunately was in the | :34:44. | :34:46.
wrong place at the wrong time. The attack was over in just a few | :34:47. | :34:50.
minutes but it has had a lasting effect on Louise. The first week or | :34:51. | :34:56.
so, the doors would be completely locked all of the time in the house, | :34:57. | :35:00.
every door, she would not even have a window open. It has affected my | :35:01. | :35:06.
schooling. I dare not go out on my own anymore. He has hurt my baby, he | :35:07. | :35:12.
has heard my child, he has got into her head. This man needs catching so | :35:13. | :35:17.
that he cannot do it to other children. | :35:18. | :35:18.
I am joined by Detective Inspector Nicholas Ram from Humberside Police. | :35:19. | :35:40.
We saw in the film that a dog walker was nearby | :35:41. | :35:43.
He was walking his dog near the Spring Head Golf Park | :35:44. | :35:49.
of Hull around 8:30 in the morning on 29th April. | :35:50. | :35:52.
We do not know how long the attacker had been laying in wait, people may | :35:53. | :35:57.
have even conversed with him. You don't think this is the first time | :35:58. | :36:01.
the attacker has struck. No, one week prior, 213-year-old girls were | :36:02. | :36:08.
approached by a very similar looking male, with a black mountain bike, | :36:09. | :36:14.
slim build, dark hair, dark stubble, tried to engage them in a sexualised | :36:15. | :36:18.
conversation, before making an indecent proposal to them. You have | :36:19. | :36:25.
a CCTV image of the man you wish to speak with. There was a burglary | :36:26. | :36:29.
early on that day, among other things, a green handled knife was | :36:30. | :36:32.
stolen, this footage is very similar to the description of the mail. | :36:33. | :36:35.
Thank you very much. If so, we'd very much | :36:36. | :36:54.
like to hear from you. Please get in touch | :36:55. | :36:57.
using the usual numbers. Now, the latest figures show that | :36:58. | :36:59.
theft and fraud cases against the vulnerable and elderly | :37:00. | :37:01.
in their homes have doubled The charity Action on Elder Abuse | :37:02. | :37:03.
estimates that ?18 million of money and goods was stolen, | :37:04. | :37:07.
and that's led to more families installing hidden cameras to help | :37:08. | :37:10.
catch the theives red-handed. of Action on Elder Abuse, | :37:11. | :37:12.
Gary Fitzgerald, and Simon Berlin, who caught his mother's | :37:13. | :37:16.
carer in the act after Simon, tells us what | :37:17. | :37:18.
happened to your mum? I discovered that money was going | :37:19. | :37:24.
missing from her purse regularly, I could not find out who of the many | :37:25. | :37:32.
visitors to her home were involved, she has many carers, and it was not | :37:33. | :37:38.
a decision that I took lightly but the only way that I could narrow | :37:39. | :37:41.
down who was responsible was by installing a hidden camera. Your | :37:42. | :37:46.
mother had a number of carers that visited her and looked after her in | :37:47. | :37:50.
her own home, you installed a hidden camera in a smoke alarm, nobody knew | :37:51. | :37:56.
it was there. This is brilliant footage. She removes the purse, | :37:57. | :38:02.
slips some money out of it. That is the carer. You can see how clean the | :38:03. | :38:07.
purse with a cloth, to try to remove fingerprints. I also caught on | :38:08. | :38:12.
camera her for the Finder logbook, you can see that above where she has | :38:13. | :38:16.
put it. Taking the contents of the purse... -- falls are fine -- | :38:17. | :38:26.
falsifying the logbook. It is terrible what has happened, what | :38:27. | :38:30.
advice would you give to someone who has suspicions about this kind of | :38:31. | :38:34.
crime? These are opportunistic thieves, they do not necessarily | :38:35. | :38:39.
plan it in their head, reducing opportunities is important, don't | :38:40. | :38:42.
leave money around but if you do, make sure people know everyone is | :38:43. | :38:47.
watching. Go to the bank, cap and much money can be taken out at any | :38:48. | :38:52.
one time, that will give you time to find out what is going on. Bank | :38:53. | :38:56.
statements, get them sent to somebody that you trust. If you | :38:57. | :39:00.
don't have a shredder, throw important documents you want to get | :39:01. | :39:03.
rid of into a bowl of water, gets rid of them in a couple of days, we | :39:04. | :39:13.
have great leaflets on the website. You put the hidden camera into a | :39:14. | :39:17.
smoke alarm, we have some examples here of Eden cameras that we can all | :39:18. | :39:21.
buy these days, ten years ago they would have to be installed by a | :39:22. | :39:24.
specialist but this one, looks like an old copy cup, it is not, there is | :39:25. | :39:28.
a camera in there. You want people to be aware, we are not suggesting | :39:29. | :39:33.
that they put it in a commercial or public property, they could be | :39:34. | :39:36.
committing an offence, this was done in a private home. The majority of | :39:37. | :39:41.
people working as carers are brilliant people, we need is to say | :39:42. | :39:46.
that at the start, but only do this if you have real suspicions, that | :39:47. | :39:49.
there is a real issue to get to the bottom of, you cannot work it out | :39:50. | :39:53.
any otherwise. We do not want to see these in all older people's houses | :39:54. | :39:57.
all over the place, it has got to be targeted. Most carers are genuine | :39:58. | :40:03.
and want to look after people. Brilliant story with what you have | :40:04. | :40:07.
done for your mother. And you very much both of you. -- thank you very | :40:08. | :40:12.
much both of you. We're back with Humberside Fire | :40:13. | :40:16.
and Rescue Service as they practice Up there you'll see | :40:17. | :40:18.
some people about I'm down here in the rather safer | :40:19. | :40:21.
water, I've borrowed some | :40:22. | :40:24.
of their waterproof kit. Greg, what sort of real emergency | :40:25. | :40:26.
are you preparing for here? People go into the water and get | :40:27. | :40:31.
swept down towards us. To get them out, we have a couple of | :40:32. | :40:39.
firefighters stood by, to swim across and grabbed the casualties, | :40:40. | :40:43.
get them out of the water. The water is so fast flowing, I can see why | :40:44. | :40:47.
you need to train properly for this kind of thing. Very deceptive, | :40:48. | :40:51.
probably only six miles per hour, but the volume of the water, it | :40:52. | :40:56.
makes it incredibly hard to get out. What is happening? One of the | :40:57. | :41:01.
firefighters has swum across, to rescue the casualty, we are going to | :41:02. | :41:04.
bring the bank and yet into the water. It all has to happen very | :41:05. | :41:09.
quickly. It has to be very efficient and effective. We will put another | :41:10. | :41:15.
casualty into the water. We will throw the casualty a line... A rope, | :41:16. | :41:19.
essentially, he will catch that, then we will get him out. Any tips | :41:20. | :41:24.
for where I throw it? Throw it across his body. Shout to him, to | :41:25. | :41:30.
tell him that you are going to throw it and for him to hold onto that. I | :41:31. | :41:35.
am going to throw you a line! Grab it, bring him in... Gosh, it is | :41:36. | :41:41.
fast. Get him out of the water. Neil is bringing him out now, assess, | :41:42. | :41:46.
make sure he is fit and well. Check they are OK as soon as you come out | :41:47. | :41:52.
of the water. Administer first aid to anybody, if they have any | :41:53. | :41:55.
injuries. And down quite a lot of speed. Definitely, thank you so | :41:56. | :42:02.
much. Great to see you in action. -- coming down in quite a lot of speed. | :42:03. | :42:07.
I think these guys need a cup of tea, a bit of a rest. | :42:08. | :42:10.
Hot off the press, potential names for some of the men that people want | :42:11. | :42:15.
to speak about the disorder in France, but they also want to hear | :42:16. | :42:19.
from anybody with information about the serious assault on Stuart Gray, | :42:20. | :42:22.
he was the victim in the blue T-shirt who was left in a coma, | :42:23. | :42:26.
images are on the website, if you want to have a look. Some good | :42:27. | :42:30.
information about the horrific rape in Leeds city centre, the suspect | :42:31. | :42:34.
carried the victim off, detectives tell us they are following new | :42:35. | :42:42.
leads, as a direct result of the new leads. Where will you be tomorrow, | :42:43. | :42:48.
Michelle? We will be out with zero Yorkshire's rural task force as they | :42:49. | :42:52.
