Hello. I'm Andy.

And these are baby ferrets, or pups.

This is Max and Marley.

And they are little wrigglers!

They love exploring.

Now, in the wild, ferrets live in burrows.

So it's really handy for them to learn how to explore as pups.

Let's catch up with some other young explorers.

First stop, Antarctica.

This super streamlined swimmer is a Weddell seal,

and she's exploring an icy underwater world.

And if you think it looks cold down here...

Well, it's not much warmer up on top!

Seals love the water.

But they're mammals,

which means they have to come up to breathe air.

Here she comes...

Pop!

Her pup has been waiting for her on the ice.

GROANING

He's only a few days old,

so he hasn't been exploring with Mum yet.

Oh, I think he's pleased to see her, though.

The Antarctic sea ice where these seals live

is one of the coldest places on earth.

Seals don't mind the cold, though.

They've got waterproof fur,

and a thick layer of fat to keep them warm.

And if it gets really cold,

well, you can always use Mum as a windshield.

Oooh.

There's even warm milk on tap, too.

Perfect.

But this pup can't stay on the ice for ever.

It's time to go exploring.

SEAL GROANS It's cold when you first get in!

Mum makes sure there's a nice big hole in the ice

by scraping the ice with her teeth.

That must be cold on the mouth!

She needs to do this every day so they don't get stuck on the ice.

Oh, it looks like hard work!

Now it's time for the little pup's first-ever swim.

It's a bit scary.

He's going to need to be really brave.

Come on.

Things look very different down here.

Ooh! I think he wants to get back out.

Come on, little guy.

You can do it!

Here he comes.

Aww, he's done it!

This is just the first of many diving trips

this little seal pup will make with his mum

whilst he's learning to catch fish.

But for now,

he can just enjoy exploring this beautiful underwater world.

Next destination is Kenya,

in Africa.

For young animals,

going exploring can often be a bit challenging...

..as these two little leopard cubs are about to find out.

They're only ten weeks old,

and already they think they're the best explorers around.

But...

they haven't even left the safety of their riverside den yet.

They've got the perfect outfits for exploring, though.

That spotted coat helps them to hide in the long grass.

One day, they'll use it to sneak up on prey.

But while they're still little,

it keeps them hidden from scary lions...

LION ROARS

..and sneaky crocodiles.

OK, boys, it's time to get your first taste of real exploring.

Mum's going to take you away from the river bank

for the very first time.

Stick together, now.

Oh, and don't forget to watch out for that sneaky crocodile.

Mum's leading the way.

Quick hop up the river bank...

Right, now it's your turn.

Ooh...

Well done.

What about your brother?

Oh, dear.

MUM GROWLS

Come on, you can do it.

Maybe exploring isn't quite as easy after all.

The slope is over five times his height.

That's like you or me trying to jump to the top of a house.

Oh.

Good idea.

Use those vines to cling onto.

And...

he's up!

Brilliant!

Time for a quick victory hug.

Now you can call yourself a proper explorer.

Over in Hawaii...

..when it comes to exploring, some baby animals aim really high.

This minute fish is a goby fish,

who's got an enormous challenge ahead.

It's got to get to this pool,

which is full of food.

But it's got to come all the way up...

from down there.

I hope it's not scared of heights.

It looks like Mission: Impossible.

But this young explorer is a bit of an expert

when it comes to rock climbing.

Special suckers in its mouth and on its belly

help it to stick to super slippery wet rock.

Pretty clever, eh?

This goby can climb waterfalls 100m high.

That's like you climbing the highest mountain in the world...

three times...

in the pouring rain!

Luckily, though,

our little fish doesn't have to take on this tall task all alone.

All these friends are coming too.

Whatever you do,

don't look down, you lot!

This is epic exploring.

Some go off-course.

Some have a rest.

Some just fall off...

and have to start all over again.

But our little goby is almost there.

Go, goby, go!

Done it!

This little explorer is on top of the world.

Leopard cubs, seal pups and gobies all learn to explore.

As for Max and Marley here,

they just can't stop exploring, can you?
