'means a sensational prize for someone.'

'After a last week they'll remember all their lives, how will they cope

'when it finally comes to say goodbye?'

'At Heavers Farm Primary School in South London,

'the pupils of Year Six classes Amethyst and Aquamarine

'are reaching the end of their last-ever year at primary school.

'After the exams,

'the end of year play,

'scaling dizzy new heights

'and all that's in-between,

'it's almost the end of school for Year Six.

'but before they go

'there's one very important party that everyone's talking about.

'The prom.'

It's going to be so cool!

Like the hall is going to be dark and you can see everyone's shiny clothes.

I'm going to eat food, I'm going to dance, and go home.

'Head teacher Mrs Papas knows exactly what the prom means

'to the Year Sixers.'

The children will really, really enjoy the prom.

They'll try and teach us oldies how to do a few moves.

But, no, they really, really enjoy it. They look forward to it all year.

'With so many great memories of their time at primary school,

'about their best moments and favourite teachers.'

'And then they go round and they get like autographs,'

teachers to sign them and, like, children put nice messages in there.

It's really sweet.

My funniest memory was in Year Two when my friend Mariam got locked

in the supply cupboard, and we've been joking about it ever since.

My embarrassing moment, when I accidentally passed wind in assembly

and I tried to blame it on Didier.

My most embarrassing moment has to be the first day of Year Six,

and I was so nervous

I ended up getting locked in the toilet.

'One teacher's name keeps popping up again and again.'

My best teacher is Miss Colomb and Miss Kelly

because they are really kind.

My favourite teacher here has to be

Miss Kelly as she is easy to talk to

and she's extremely understanding.

'And with Miss Kelly's birthday just around the corner,

'the classmates have decided to throw her a secret party

'as a thank you for all the help she's given them during Year Six.

'This is Year Six's first surprise party,

'and with no-one quite sure what to do,

'Mrs Shekar has called a meeting to discuss the plans.'

So, Mrs Papas has said yes to a cake.

So I'll buy the cake. I'll go today. I'll buy the cake.

'Can the class get organised and pull off a party

'Lunchtime, and over the sandwiches and school dinners

'and, with only a few days until the big night,

'things are hotting up.'

is beginning to frustrate Patrick.

'Patrick steps up to show them how it's done.

'Raheem seems to have forgotten he chickened out of the dare

'and sets about winding up Patrick.'

'the most important thing about prom for everyone.

'Kelsey is far more interested in arriving in her dream dress.'

'And with time short, she's getting it altered at school

'with some help from a friend of her mum's.'

'There's a lot of secrecy around what everyone's wearing,

'so Kelsey has found an unusual changing room

'so no-one sees her dress.'

It's top secret, hence the disabled toilet.

A couple of them sneaked up, but we sent them away.

'And she's making sure it's ready for the dancing.'

'The prom is not the only celebration at the end of term.

This is a picture and I've put lots of, like, some glitter on it.

And then inside I wrote,

I made it by myself but I just put some names in it.

'After all her sneaky planning,

'Luckily, PE teacher Mr Allen is nearby for a comforting hug.'

I am going to miss some of my friends that are not going to my school,

and our PE teacher because he's always been there for me.

Glenn, Giovanne and Patrick are not going to my school

so I won't be up to see them.

'With the prom drawing to a close,

'Glenn makes sure his mate Tate ends the evening on a high.'

EXCITED SCREAMS

'It's been an unforgettable night.'

The music, the dancing, everyone was here, the balloons.

Everything. Everything was really good.

It was better than I thought it was going to be.

I never knew that was going to happen.

I never knew there would be a chocolate fountain.

Amazing. Really nice. Everyone looks so grown-up and different.

I'm sad though that it's the last thing together.

It was really fun.

'Kelsey and Serrenur have been inseparable

'since Kelsey stood up to Serrenur's bullies in year four.'

Serrenur's really funny. She is a good friend.

She's the best friend I ever had.

'At the heart of the closest girl group are Mariam and Marine.

'Earlier in the term, they fell out over a part in the play

'but they're leaving school the best of friends.'

When you know two people are best friends, like me and Marine...

'to different schools.
