Max and Harvey - Part 1 My Life

Life has been non-stop crazy lately, and we wanted to

-share our journey with you. Yay!

So we've been keeping this video diary of what's been going on.

Oh, yes, we're going to have so much fun!

We are obviously filming this because we are hoping to kind of

make a career out of what we're doing now,

and obviously we're showing all you guys what we're doing

behind the scenes and everything like that.

You're well annoying to work with and a pain in the bum,

but it is kind of handy that our minds basically do

kind of think alike a lot of the time.

I did not know where it was then!

We are a very interesting family, but a fun family, nonetheless.

I probably get along with Tilly better,

and Harvey probably gets along with Leo better.

Max is really good at doing the guitar,

and Harvey's really good at doing the drums,

and their singing is really good as well.

I'm Harvey. I'm 14 years old. Obviously, Max is my twin.

I'm the older twin cos I'm cooler.

Hi, I'm Max. I don't know if you can tell.

Maybe it will help with the hat.

The best way to tell us apart is probably with what we wear.

So, Max normally wears a hat, and I normally wear sunglasses.

Once you get to know us, our voices are a bit different,

and I think facially, there are some different features,

but other than the hat, there's not much.

At home, it's really normal, like, it's, like, a normal life.

There's nothing different, nothing has changed,

except from having a kind of routine to post things on social media

to make sure our fans are happy and, like, we're giving them...

..videos to watch, and in return, they give us...happiness.

When we first went into a recording studio to actually record a song,

I was just thinking, "How is this going to sound?"

Like, because I've seen so many people perform live,

and it's so different to how they sound on a track.

That's one out, and really good.

Max and I, especially when we first ever recorded something,

were very used to just singing outside,

with no microphones at all and just kind of blasting it out.

Obviously, in a recording studio,

you can't just sing as loud as you possibly can,

because that just kind of would sound terrible.

We are so excited because we are about to fly out to Amsterdam

for VidCon Amsterdam.

We've never done, like, a proper convention before.

As far as I'm concerned, I don't think we've been to Amsterdam before

-So that should be pretty exciting.

So, all we gotta do is pack.

Yeah. So, packing, and then... Then we fly.

Then we fly over there. Fly like a bird flying.

So, we can't wait.

Amsterdam was insane!

It was, like, a very beautiful place.

There was a lot to see there,

and I got kind of scared because there's bikes everywhere.

Like, cyclists are brutal in Amsterdam.

They take no prisoners.

I don't think they've learnt what bells are.

They just shout. They go, "Oi!"

when they come behind you, and you're like, "Argh!"

There this was big...

What do you call it? Like, not an amusement park but a smaller version

in Dam Square, I think it's called. And that was really cool as well,

and that set kind of a good impression of Amsterdam.

We're here in Amsterdam, obviously...

-And I think we're going to go on that ride up there.

It looks pretty cool but pretty scary at the same time.

This could go horribly wrong.

I don't really feel famous.

I don't think we've kind of reached that point yet.

I think we are well known to a certain age range.

Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande and all those kind of people,

they're famous. Hopefully, we'll get there.

I mean, that's a long shot, but we're growing and growing.

I mean, can you believe we're playing at the VidCon, Amsterdam?

No. It's going to be amazing.

There's going to be so much cool stuff to do

and so many cool people to meet.

The actual stage, though, that's the thing.

We'd never done anything like that before.

All of our shows were organised shows where it was basically

just performing, whereas this was a whole social event

where you did everything. There was, like,

tonnes of different stalls and bouncy castles everywhere,

and the big main stage at the back.

Right, so there were these girls...

Yeah, they were these girls that were just outside

and they had the banner, there they are.

We tried to get them in because they were so nice,

but they got escorted out.

So, we're going to go and meet them now.

We definitely try to look after our fans as much as we can,

because they're, like, part of us.

The tickets were completely sold out,

and they were just stood outside with their massive poster

that they made for us,

and so we had to go and do something about it,

because we felt so bad that they couldn't get in.

But, yeah, it was quite nice to see that,

even though they knew that they weren't

going to get in and possibly

even see us at all, they still kind of

wanted to make the effort to see us

at some point. That was really nice.

I let him... I was like, right, do the first song,

So, I mean, I tried my best.

It might not have sounded great.

Yeah, my dad is just shaking his head right now in the other room.

I have never, never sung One More Day In Love high,

and it is incredibly hard, especially, I think, for me.

I was like this... Like, trying to get it out.

So, then we went to the after show party,

and that was pretty cool other than the fact

that I wasn't allowed to talk at all. But it was really nice,

because it was kind of all of our friends that we actually knew from

kind of social media and stuff, all there at a big party.

My Macarena skills are flawless, I admit.

So, we decided to teach it to all of them.

And they picked it up pretty quickly,

because a lot of them there were dancers,

and then it just turned into this massive group thing of everyone

that was there just doing the Macarena.

So what's it been like meeting all your fans at VidCon?

It was so cool because it makes us happy to meet the people

that follow you and support you, and then you can chat with them,

-and it's so cool. It's like...

-We thought you were taller!

-Taller, yeah.

-Yeah. Yeah, we are small.

-Yes, we're quite small.

But the most people are saying to us, "Oh, you're really tall..."

You're really small, yeah.

When we interviewed Lisa and Lena,

it was really interesting because

we'd never actually properly met them before, and they were so nice.

It was really nice to kind of meet and talk to them.

They explained to us how they started

and what they did on social media

to make them grow.

A, they turned the phone a different way.

So, no-one really did that.

It sounds stupid, but it made a big impact,

because no-one really ever filmed with the phone sideways.

I think they've got, like, I don't know,

20 million on certain socials,

and all those kind of things.

Our weekend in Amsterdam has been amazing.

We've never been before. It's such an amazing city.

So much to do. This VidCon was insane.

And we've had such a great time with our new friends that we've made,

and our fans just made it even better

by supporting us the whole time.

I just loved it completely.

I mean, it was one of the best things I think we've done yet,

especially this year,

and I just can't wait for what's up next, because,

if it's anything better than this then that's just amazing,

because this was so much fun.

So, then we went to Manchester, and we had a gig up there and, yeah,

we went to the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital before,

and we wrote a song for them.

We then went to a school, which was really cool,

because it was interesting to see what reaction we would get from the

kids, and they were all just like, "Yeah, yeah, they're really cool."

We cannot wait to cheer up some of the kids and make their days

hopefully a little bit better and, yeah,

just kind of meet all of them and listen to their stories.

-And, yeah, we cannot wait.

I tend to be on my phone a bit too much, probably.

So, we are here in Manchester for our second gig,

we are looking forward to it for our upcoming show,

it's going to be amazing.

We are so excited to perform for everyone and meet everyone...

We are... The Max and Harvey super fans.

We're definitely, definitely the biggest fans.

They're just like really funny and like so, like, down to earth

compared to most people who are famous.

They're just generally idols of mine, basically.

The Manchester Hilton performance was a very emotional performance

actually, because the majority of it was to do with

the Manchester Children's Hospital and

quite a few of the people from the hospital came to see our show

and we, there was one song that we did in the show called Fight Song

and we dedicated it to one of the girls from the hospital

who sadly wasn't there because she had passed away

by the time that we did the show.

She was just the nicest person ever and she was so sweet and even when,

because we were going round kind of singing for them,

just kind of adding a little bit of happiness

into the world or something

like that, I don't know, something cheesy like that,

and she started singing along with us

so we kind of sung that song there,

the same song that we sung with her in the hospital,

to kind of remember her and kind of say, you know,

"Don't stop fighting," to all those people out there who, you know...

Keep fighting through whatever is going wrong in life, basically.

So, a couple of months ago now I think it was,

we visited the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital

and it was so nice to meet everyone

and see what it was really like in there,

and the amount of people that were just, like, so high-spirited

and just like so happy,

even though their circumstances... It was incredible.

And obviously we have Charlotte and Maisie in with us today

and all their parents and family and friends and stuff,

so thank you guys for coming in today.

We really appreciate you guys coming here.

When we visited the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital,

we visited a girl called Gracie and we sang a song with her

which was Fight Song, which is the next song that we are going to do

but, unfortunately, really sadly, Gracie didn't make it.

This is dedicated to Gracie, she was such a high-spirited girl

and this is for her.
