This is the souvenir edition of the Shipbuilder,

which was produced to celebrate Titanic and her sister ship, Olympic.

"The captain can, by simply moving an electrical switch,

"instantly close the doors

"throughout the vessel and make it practically unsinkable."

All of the innovations that went into these two ships were followed

very, very closely.

This particular window case came from the grand staircase of the Olympic,

carved by the same men that would have made them for Titanic.

And here they are, illustrated in the Shipbuilder.

And everything in it shows how splendid life was

in the Edwardian era.

Nobody reading this book ever contemplated

such a terrible disaster overwhelming Titanic.
