CONTESTANTS SCREAM

Love. It's a great thing. It's the best of things.

But staying in love can, at times, be quite difficult, especially

when those times are spent behind the wheel of a car, facing a series

of outrageous driving challenges, as five couples are about to find out.

Reaching the final will require bravado...

..delicate interpersonal skills...

Brake, brake, brake, brake, brake!

..and a complete conquering of fear.

But the couple who make it there are ensured

the ride of their lives in this bobby-dazzler, The Getaway Car.

And it could see our finalists win £10,000.

But usually, it shares a track with a car driven by this charming man -

the driving legend that is Top Gear's The Stig,

a distant relative of The Man In The Iron Mask.

So, it's drivers of varying ability at 20 paces.

Let's get this show on the road.

These are the five teams prepared to pull on a racing suit

and put their relationship to the test.

So let's meet some of them.

Robert and Roberta,

childhood sweethearts determined to show that love conquers all.

Sam and Jerry,

father-and-son team out to prove that blood is thicker than water.

And if it isn't, then James and Jacqui

are a pair of undertakers here to mop up the mess.

Let the games begin.

On Hazard Highway, our five couples will face a series

of big and brutal obstacles that will test their ability

to support each other, their communication skills...

in other words, their relationship.

Only the fastest three on Hazard Highway

will qualify for the next round.

So, who's up first?

Robert and Roberto are currently bringing up the rear.

And they don't want to stay there. Because...

The slowest two enter into a race-off and one of them will be going home.

It's a head-to-head battle, where the co-driver driver's knowledge

and nerve will be severely tested,

as they're driven twice around the track by these youthful and quite frightening upstarts.

The Stig's adolescent nephews, Red Stig and Blue Stig.

And hoping to avoid that terrible fate, are our last two teams.

This is going to be the mother and father of all showdowns.

It's mother and daughter versus father and son.

In the pink corner, Sam and Hollie.

would drive around. Luckily for us, we're NOT in our right minds.

In round two, our four remaining teams will be driving off-road,

as their stress levels go back through the roof in these buggies.

They'll have to complete one dusty lap of the track as fast as they can

against the clock.

And as they race around this terrain as fast as they can,

who knows what they might bump into? Well, I do. These Stigalikes.

Knock one over and they incur a time penalty.

It's five seconds for a white Stig

and an unwelcome ten seconds for a red Stig.

And with only the fastest two teams guaranteed a place in the next round,

the slowest two will be subjected to a whole new kind of race-off.

She's going to be very frantic and panicky and probably be

the opposite to what I actually need but I think we're ready for it.

The Stig gets a green light and he starts hunting them down.

When he catches up with them, it is game over.

But if they get to the finish line first,

they bag the jackpot - £10,000.

However, in the shady context of the motoring world,

The Stig has assembled a bevy of supercars.

And tonight, his vehicle of choice is the McLaren 650S Spider.

With a top speed of 204mph

and 0-60 in three seconds,

that is significantly quicker than the Getaway Car.

So to make this a fair contest,

the Getaway Car pit crew have worked out

that Hussain and Fatema can win the £10,000

with a ten-second head start

IF they drive the Getaway Car perfectly.
