-a special tour by the band, Khamira.

-We're a group of performers

-from Wales and India.

-Four of the members are from Wales

-and three are from India...

-..all with the aim of creating

-a new sound...

-..that combine Welsh folk songs

-with traditional Indian music.

-It sounds incredible.

-How did you meet?

-I was a member of the band, Burum

-and we went to India.

-We met the guitarist, Aditya

-at a college workshop...

-..and decided to combine

-both different cultures.

-We received support from the

-Wales Arts International Council.

-This is our first tour of Wales.

-You've performed together

-in other countries.

-Last night, we returned from Seoul

-and we're all jet-lagged.

-We played in a showcase, which might

-help us to get more concerts.

-We've played in India in the past

-and we can't wait to tour Wales.

-Where will the Welsh tour take you?

-The tour starts

-..and goes to Ystradgynlais,

-Cardiff, Narberth, Aberystwyth...

-..Caernarfon, Holyhead, Mold

-and at the Hay Festival.

-We'll be touring for

-around a week and a half.

-This is the first time our Indian

-members have travelled to Wales.

-My latest children's novel

-is called Pluen.

-It's about Huw, a boy from Llangefni

-and his grandmother's dementia.

-It's also a mystery novel

-with elements of a ghost story.

-I've always loved Llangefni

-so it's the setting for the novel.

-It's a close-knit community

-and the people are so kind.

-The Dingle is so quiet

-and the perfect place for children.

-"I don't know what you'll think

-but you might not believe my story.

-"People don't believe these things

-happen to normal people like me.

-"There's nothing special about me.

-"I'm like every other

-12-year-old boy."

-It's set in the summer holidays...

-..and Huw has to do a project

-about his family in World War II.

-There's also his relationship

-with his friends.

-Children's friendships

-are both wonderful and amazing.

-"I can't find Nain," I said

-with a quiet and weak voice.

-"What?" asked Kieran.

-"You're in her house."

-"Yes, but she isn't here."

-"She must have gone out."

-"The door was open, the radio was on

-and the chicken dinner has burnt."

-"Kieran fell silent so I added...

-"I've tried calling Mam and Dad

-but there was no answer.

-"What am I going to do, Kieran?"

-Pluen means feather and it can be a

-significant item for many people...

-White Feather during World War I.

-People associate feathers with

-a message from the spirit world...

-..and I go down that route

-in the novel.

-It's a very personal novel

-because Taid had dementia...

-..and it features in the novel.

-The novel is dedicated to Taid.

-I discussed this novel with the

-wonderful author, Gareth F Williams.

-This was before he passed away

-last year.

-I feel Gareth's input in the novel

-so it's very close to my heart.

-I think he would be delighted

-that the novel has been shortlisted.

-It was taken down in 1925 and they
