-You have reopened the place.

-It's exciting for us

-I can't believe it.

-We've had so much help.

-You have realised your dream.

-I got the idea for this place

-on my travels.

-I've travelled for 18 months.

-I've come back and gone again.

-I went to Asia and Australia and

-many other places.

-We have so much to offer in North

-Wales.

-I wanted to share my experiences

-and settle down.

-We are at the foot of Snowdon.

-I've also been a tourist myself.

-We are at the foot of Snowdon here.

-We welcome walkers cyclists and

-locals here.

-I have had so much help from the

-locals.

-Everyone has been kind in offering

-support and help.

-It's been amazing.

-I can't speak highly enough

-about it.

-What are your plans?

-We only opened about half and hour

-ago!

-I want to create a place

-for people who visit Snowdon...

-..to feel comfortable and at home.

-I want locals to come and enjoy.

-There are so many luxury place

-around here.

-I want something different but

-homely.

-Many of friends have come to support

-me tonight.

-What will be your biggest challenge?

-There were so many challenges

-in preparing this place.

-I've worked in hostels but I have to

-deal with builders now!

-I have learnt so much.

-I had no idea but I am learning

-every day.

-Snowdonia is the best place

-in the world.

-I would love to travel again.

-I can't myself setting off on my

-travels soon.

-Maybe I can employ people to work

-for me so I can go again!

-I felt excited about my storyline.

-It looks quite real to me.

-the old stories of Caernarfon.

-The organizers are looking for

-volunteers to help with the work.

-Caernarfon is full of character...

-..and steeped in history.

-Another great thing about the town

-is its Cofi dialect.

-If you weren't born and raised

-Emrys Llewellyn Jones has to say.

-I was on the Maes the other day when

-an old lag asked for a few pennies.

-He asked for a few coins.

-He asked me again and again.

-In the end, I gave him a shilling.

-Off he went for a cuppa.

-These words are old Caernarfon words

-Only the old Cofis use them now.

-In order to safeguard the language

-and history of Caernarfon...

-..the charity, GISDA and the

-regeneration project, STAMP...

-..are working together to create

-a verbal archive of Cofi treasures.

-STAMP have formed a commission to

-discover the old Caernarfon stories.

-We have spoken with some

-of the town's old characters.

-We want to collect these tales...

-..and make people love where

-they live a little bit more.

-People can then add to some of

-the regeneration plans that we have.

-GISDA are working together with

-STAMP on the Mae Gen i Go project.

-We are looking for volunteers

-to collect these memories.

-They can be of any age

-or background...

-..but must enjoy meeting

-and chatting with people.

-These memories will be collected...

-..and we hope to turn them

-into Quick Response Codes.

-and receive a recording of a memory.

-will be recorded for posterity.

-There's a series of new pathways

-to help get people fit for free.

-Large groups take advantage of

-the free entry to the gardens.

-We've created four different paths

-for people to follow as they enter.

-They vary from ten

-to 90-minute walks.

-The shorter path takes ten minutes

-around the large greenhouse.

-It takes in beautiful views

-across the valley and lakes.

-The red path is longer and heads to

-Waun Las National Nature Reserve.

-It guides you around woodlands

-with fascinating wildlife and views.

-The paths are suitable

-for all ages and abilities.

-The shorter path is on flat terrain

-and suits wheelchairs and prams.

-The longer path is more challenging

-and covers rough and muddy terrain.

-But there's something here for all.

-The only equipment you need is

-a warm coat and sturdy footwear.

-Wellies are a must for wet weather,

-but experience isn't required.

-Sadly, it's been on sale

-for a number of years.

-The present owners decided

-to leave within two years.

-The community came together as we

-didn't want to lose this resource.

-We want to buy and run it

-as a community enterprise.

-We formed Siop Ni Cynwyd

-at the end of last year.

-We're in the process of

-seeking funds and support.

-It's early days

-as we've just formed our committee.

-We're starting to hold

-monthly bingo nights...

-..and there'll be more committees.

-But more importantly, it's set

-to be quite a social time for us.

-I like Siop Cynwyd

-as it sells lots of sweets and pop.

-I like buying chocolate here, chat

-to my friend and get into trouble!

-They feel like family as I speak

-to them every day and buy something.

-I always feel low after school but

-feel better when I come to the shop.

-I've been back and forth here

-since 1940.

-The shop looked different then

-and we don't want to lose it.

-The pub across the road closed, and

-the pub nearby isn't always open.

-It would be a shame to lose the shop

-as the village will diminish.

-It would be sad if the shop closed.

-Older people in the village

-will have to travel to Corwen.

-Cynwyd will be boring

-without a shop.
