-We are going to

-spoil our mothers this Sunday.

-I'm preparing a special breakfast

-for your mother.

-The children can prepare it.

-We have courses for this breakfast.

-We start with egg pots

-with smoked salmon.

-We start with some spinach.

-The spinach

-has already been cleaned.

-Pop it in the microwave

-to wither for a minute.

-Leave the spinach to cool down.

-Grease a gratin plate.

-Remove some of the liquid

-from the spinach.

-You can also leave the spinach

-in a bowl of hot water to wither.

-We've got some smoked salmon too.

-There's hardly any fat on it.

-We've also got a pink theme

-with a rose with the salmon.

-We crack an egg and let it fall

-over this nest style creation.

-Pour over some double cream.

-We don't have to count calories

-on Sunday too!

-Grate some parmesan cheese over it.

-This devices lets the cheese

-fall out from the top!

-This is a great little gift to

-give your mother for Mother's Day.

-You can keep the cheese in the

-fridge after you have grated it.

-Bake in the oven at 180 degrees

-Celsius for about 20 minutes.

-The centre of the one I just made

-is still a little raw.

-Our next breakfast

-is for quick homemade croissants.

-We will use puff pastry for this.

-This gadget makes life easier!

-Cut the pastry into slices.

-We should have about a dozen

-out of this packet.

-Egg wash the pastry.

-You can get this small device online

-or in the shops.

-Fold the pastry into parcels.

-I'd go to the shop and buy them!

-Place them on some

-greaseproof paper.

-I've also mixed

-some custard and ground almond.

-Pour the custard into the centre

-of the croissants.

-I've also topped it

-with some peaches.

-Bake in the oven

-at the same temperature.

-You can also use chocolate spread

-for the filling.

-The annual campaign raises awareness

-and promotes fair trading globally.

-But Fairtrade products are more

-than just coffee and chocolate.

-located in Cardiff to discover more.

-We've all spotted the Fairtrade

-products in our supermarkets...

-..but there's a shop in Cardiff

-that only sells Fairtrade produce...

-..and they sell everything

-under the sun!

-We opened the shop in 1998

-so have been here for many years.

-It was an excellent idea...

-..we've expanded over the years

-and are delighted to still be here.

-Tell us about the items

-you sell in this shop.

-Most people are familiar with

-the tea, coffee and chocolate...

-..but we also have toys, clothes,

-jewellery and handmade cards.

-We buy from Fairtrade importers...

-..and belong to a group that works

-with Fairtrade shops in Britain.

-Everything

-in the shop is Fairtrade.

-Fairtrade Fortnight celebrates

-the positive effects on producers.

-It also raises awareness

-of the produce.

-This year, Fairtrade Fortnight

-focuses on breakfast.

-The motto is "sit down for

-breakfast, stand up for farmers."

-This weekend, you can buy coffee or

-bananas for a Fairtrade breakfast.

-It's just a small step to take

-before buying more products.

-It takes a lot of work to keep

-the shelves stocked with produce...

-..but it's even busier

-behind the scenes.

-These two ladies are kept very busy.

-Hello, can I ask what you're doing?

-We've come from Skewen to get some

-Fairtrade produce for our church.

-How often do you come here

-to collect products?

-It's usually every month but it can

-be every fortnight over Christmas.

-What do people like to buy?

-What do people like to buy?

-

-Chocolate!

-And the incense sticks

-are always good sellers.

-The public is welcomed to sell the

-produce in communities across Wales.

-Jan appointed Aled Pickard to do

-some research about the situation.

-The research is funded by the

-government via Hub Cymru Africa.

-The aim is to learn how the products

-we buy...

-..makes a difference to the African

-communities that make the produce.

-We have five partners

-and the results are very exciting.

-There are Welsh greeting cards

-from Rwanda.

-One card is enough to pay

-for 1kw of electricity...

-..whilst two cards is enough to buy

-500kg of seeds to feed themselves.

-We also work with Denur Crafts

-from Kenya who produce soap dishes.

-They earn enough in a month to pay

-for a child's education for a year.

-One bowl can pay for education

-for one day.

-Ten bowls will buy a mosquito net

-that will protect them from malaria.

-There's a growing awareness of the

-situation but there's more to do.

-People think that stocking

-Fairtrade produce is enough...

-..but many farmers work in difficult

-circumstances with unfair trading.

-There's still a lot to do to get the

-farmers involved in fair trading.

-Give it a stir.

-We need to add some caster sugar

-and some flour.

-Sieve the flour.

-The children will enjoy this.

-You need to crack two eggs.

-You want all the ingredients

-I've got some large organic eggs

-that add plenty of colour.

-of an apple.

-You can fill the centres

-with some jam or lemon curd.

-We've got some sugar icing

-with some food colouring paste.

-Mix it all together.

-There's a lovely velvety

-pink colour.

-I would love to eat that icing

-straight off the spoon!

-You can sample some of the mixture.

-We want to create some frosting.

-Make a swirl shape with the mixture.

-Top it with some sparkles.

-Add some butter paste

-to the top of this cake.
