Week 8 Results Strictly Come Dancing

At the world famous black ball tower. This year's dancing

competition. They certainly seem to be getting into the spirit of it. --

block pool. The couples are putting finishing

touches on their glamorous costumes. The question on everyone's lips -

who will survive this ballroom blitz?

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Tower Ballroom, Blackpool, will all

competing couples, please, take to the floor.

Are you ready, Artem, Karen, Brendan? All right couples, let's

go. Please welcome your hosts, Tess Daly

and Claudia Winkleman. CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

Good evening and welcome to our Sunday night results show, coming to

you from the beautiful Tower Ballroom, right here, in Blackpool!

APPLAUSE What an opening. It just goes to

show everyone wants to get their hands on that glitterball trophy.

Oh, yes, clearly. On Saturday night our nifty nine couples twirlled

around this world famous dancefloor in order to get one step closer to

the prize. But, sadly, for one couple, their time on Strictly Come

Dancing must end tonight. No! The judges' scores have been combined

with your viewer votes and the two couples with the lowest overall

points will go head-to-head in the dance-off. The decision on whom to

send home lies with the judges. Please welcome, Greg, Darcey, Len

and Bruno, the tyrants of the Tower Ballroom.

Also this evening, they will be double delighted. Two music

performsances. Classical superstar, Andre Rieu is here and we have the

incredible JLS boys. APPLAUSE.

What a can combination. Not only, that I will also be quizzing the

judges on the details of Saturday night's performances in Len's Lens.

Nice. Before we reveal the first couple who must face the dance-off,

let's take a look at what happened as Strictly hit Blackpool.

It is alive. The Tower Ballroom Blackpool. The trouble I had getting

through the M6 tolls. Come on, quickly, it's time for Strictly. The

whole of Strictly has moved out of Elstree and moved to block pool and

has been unpacked from these enormous cases. It is great to be

here. This is obviously the home of ballroom dancing. I feel very

honoured to have made it this far. . This is Blackpool hair and make-up.

More sqidgeed in. So exciting that I be able to say I danced a quickstep

in Blackpool ballroom. Feeling a little bit of extra sparkly nerves

because it is a big deal dancing in Blackpool. I have my stick of rock,

and candy fl o, ss. Strictly is back in Blackpool. I found the secret

where the magic happens. The mobile gallery. I like this.

Snoonchts it is amazing. 15 minutes to go until show time. I'm petrified

but so excited. Two minutes until we are live, ladies and gents.

Come on, girls. Counting to air... Ten, nine, eight,

seven, six, five, four, three, two, one zero.

It was absolutely spot-on. Divine, well done. Thank you very

much. I was smiling so much my teeth felt

dry. It was a blistering hot samba.

That is not a samba, it is a Whamba. You whammed it.

The people were so receptive. We really felt they were with us.

Big Ben is back, darling. You had such warmth and care and

involvement. 8. 8. 8. I can't believe it.

So good. We are over the moon. Oh, yes, the Lone Ranger is back

with avengeance. I'm is surprised how powerfully you danced that paso.

Well done. It was amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed that.

I thought the attitude was first class and the lifts were a little

bit economy. First-class take-off, I thought.

A glass of champagne. It is first class, afterall.

Something like this is unbelievable. 10. 10. 7 10.

It was a show-stopping performance. Big, brass, noisy and fabulous to

watch. Thank you. I really loved it. Well

done. Into Fau-u-lous.

The drama the dynamics. I loved it. 9. 10. Ole, 10.

Spectacular. I thought the whole thing was

Sen-sational. From Len a 10. LAUGHTER

Blackpool delivered again. It was an absolute cracking night.

Top of the leaderboard, Susannah and in factually. Down the bottom, Mark

and Fiona. Great dancing. Wonderful entertainment. Blackpool -

brilliant. So that is how things stood on

Saturday night. Your votes have been added to the judges' scores and it

is time to find out who sailed through and who has gone man

overboard. The results are in. In no particular order, the first

couple safely through to next week is... Susannah and Kevin.

Darcey, you said it was a show-stopping performance. How can

he improve? You never hold back. You always give your all in every dance

performance. You might not have the best technique. But do not give up.

It's just extraordinary because in your jive you actually had so much

dance content. It's just such a joy to watch you dance. Just do exactly

what you did on Saturday night. Thank you.

Exactly what you did. You got your highest-ever-score on

Saturday night. You have been here before. How are you feeling now? I'm

. Number one, Blackpool, best place on earth. Agreed. What a magnificent

time we have all had. Let's rep mind ourselves - we cannot do this alone,

not even in Blackpool or in this magical ballroom. We need the help

of Len's Lens. Len's Lens.

That's the best one yet. This is when we look at the detail from

Saturday night. Maybe when you didn't have enough time and just

want more time to chat. Let's begin with the magical open. My favourite

group dance ever. You seemed to enjoy it very much. Here we go.

There you go, Darcey. I don't even know what that is called but I love

it. It was a wonderful opening number on Saturday night Turn it

off, it is horrible. Let's talk about Len, some other

stars of Saturday night. It made us all go - ahhh, a lovely clip.

Ahhh. This is the future of ballroom dancing in Britain, these little

kids. I have to say, wonderful They are so talented. They look so

lovely. There are certain rules now. They can't wear too much make-up.

They have to be in white shirts and black trousers, the little boys. It

is just divine to watch them. Absolutely. As you say, they are the

future. Len I would love to talk to you about Susannah and Kevin. Joint

top score of the whole composition. You loved her mimicking the cape, I

believe. This could have been done by Kevin with the cape but he use

used Susanna. He is the matador. He uses her. Flings her about. The bull

is dead. It was great. Let me ask you about an and Cristina. He kept

her line. It was really hard. If you don't keep it straight you can twist

her out of position. He created a beautiful line with her, a beautiful

body, obviously. He made it great. Effortless. Incredible. Natalie and

oar tempt I think they blew the roof off. You want to mentionier foot

work. Usually on the Charleston you do straight swivel. She adds an

extra step in the middle. Not only in that moment. All through the

choreography, all through the dance had individual and new touches.

That's what I found very exciting. Seeing something that has been kind

of reinvented. It was just beautiful to watch. Her performance level is

amazing. But Artem is very clever. Shall we clap Artem? Artem! We have

to mention Abbey and Alizaz. Len, three tens. What did you love it so

much -- Alijaz. The supper body has to stay calm. It is a difficult

dance. The legs and feet are full action. To divorce the body like

that was terrific. It was so fast and full of different little

moments. This is fabulous. We have an audio movement this is you guys,

you loved them. I think she MUSIC: Business of Loved it just as much.

Here we go. Whoo! Just the joy of dancing. To comes

out. Terrific. Finally you were all very happy - well apart from you,

bit grumpy but adorable. You were very grumpy when you gave 10s to

Susanna. Look at that, judge kissing, the

paddles came out in Blackpool. No other way of saying it. Let's hear

it for the judges. APPLAUSE

smooth was elegant, proper and dainty. What does she need to do now

to survive the dance-off? Of course it was, look at you, you are

gorgeous. What you have to do, fee ownia, it is so important. -- Fiona.

You have to maintain focus. Try not to disconnect with the music.

Sometimes you fall behind. It is kind of a little bit messy. Come on,

baby, stay on it. You have to maintain, that remember. Focus and

connection. Yes, and you will be fine. Nobody wants to be in this

position, Fiona, obviously. How are you feeling right now? Well,

actually I have had the most incredible time and I didn't really,

if I'm honest, expect to get this far. The fact that I got to

Blackpool is fantastic. I must thank Anton for everything. Don't thank

him yet. It is not over yet. It's not over yet. Thank you very much.

the rest of our couples. You had to have a week off. You came back with

a bang. Did you love it? I absolutely loved it. And it was a

bang, bang. Quite. It was fantastic. Anya, you win for the face when they

announced you. I thought - my goodness, she is actually going to

swallow. How happy are you? Thank you so much. We worked so hard. I

was really upset but... Well done. All I can say is thank you, thank

you. Sophie, well done, a brilliant Saturday night. I know you were a

bit emotional, weren't you? I really was. You get an overwhelming sense

of pride when you are out there. You look after your little girls and

little boys when you are - you expect so much of them. I'm 34! You

expect so much and when they deliver a performance like Sophie did I was

emotional and proud. Oh, come on, let's all cuddle Brendan.

Ben and Kristina. I remember they left you until the last minute

another time and you really said - please don't do that again. And they

did it again. How scary was it for you? It is a scary moment. I was

hoping they didn't leave me to the end but they Z I was nervous all the

way. It is never easy. You don't know whether it is going to be your

last dance or not. Huge congratulations. Well done. But

you think it was happening? I did expect it, yeah. I'm not that

shocked. I have had a ball. So I'm just going to go out and enjoy it.

OK. Well, enormous luck when you do it. It is getting more and more

difficult to lose any of our couples. Dancing to survive through

APPLAUSE Mark and Iveta have done their

utmost to impress the judges. Up next the couple they have to beat.

it their all. We'll now find out which of you will

be back to dance again next week. Judges, it's time to decide.

I am about to ask each of you the name of the couple you think

deserves to be saved. The couple with the most votes will stay in the

competition, meaning the other couple is out of Strictly come

dancing. In the event of a tie, head judge, Len, you will have the

deciding vote. Mark and Iveta, Fiona and Anton, this is it. Craig, who

are you going to save? The couple I would like to save are Fiona and

Anton. Well done, Fiona and Anton. That's one vote for you.

Darcey who do you think deserves to stay in the competition? The couple

I would like to save is Mark and Iveta. Mark and Iveta back in with a

shout. It is now one vote apiece. Bruno who do you want to stay in

Strictly Come Dancing? The couple I would like to save is Mark and

Iveta. It's 2-1 to Mark and Iveta but head

judge Len now has the casting vote which means whatever couple he now

chooses will stay in Strictly Come Dancing. So, Len, it is all down to

you, who are you going to save? Well, you know, it is a very, very

close thing. I gave them both 8s when they danced the first time

around. The thing is, in the dance-off, you either up your game

or nerves stifle your performance. One couple I felt really did up

their game. The other, I think nerves got them and there was a lot

of mistakes. For that reason, I'm going to save Mark and Iveta. That

means, we are going to have to say goodbye to Fiona and Anton.

Amazing. I can't thank you and all the producer at the BBC for asking

me it take part in this show. It is like being a guest at the best party

like to say it him? He has been unbelievable patient. I obviously

have a memory like a colon de. He -- colonder.

Anything would you like to say? I would like to say from my

perspective. The fabulous show is made fun because of the people you

get to dance with and you are just a joy every day I come in, I get to
