Owe Hello. Welcome to Tuesday's Two-Footed Corner Challenge. What a

:00:00.:00:10.

-- it takes two. It was almost exit stage left, but they were saved for

:00:11.:00:16.

another week. It's Ashley and Ola. Forget the Glitterball trophy, more

:00:17.:00:20.

crucial competition to addressment here to kick off the it takes two

:00:21.:00:26.

Pro Challenge, it's Iveta and Aljaz. Here to tell us whose performance

:00:27.:00:32.

was in tune and whose was off key in musicals week, Karen Hardy is here.

:00:33.:00:36.

This is Strictly: It Takes Two. Hello, welcome to Strictly: It Takes

:00:37.:01:36.

Two. It's Tuesday and as our Magnificent 7 have become six,

:01:37.:01:39.

dreams of reaching the finals are rife. For my first guest, Saturday

:01:40.:01:43.

nearly turned into an Arabian nightmare when they found themselves

:01:44.:01:46.

in the bottom two for the first time. Ashley and Ola join me after

:01:47.:01:48.

this reminder of their performance. So exotic with a touch of the

:01:49.:02:00.

erotic. You framed the object of your desire so well. The chemistry

:02:01.:02:04.

was there, the lines were beautiful. Your arms still need a little bit

:02:05.:02:07.

more expression but I really and truly loved it. You told a very real

:02:08.:02:15.

story of love. You created some strong masculine lines, great

:02:16.:02:19.

control, well done. You took command of that dance. You came out and you

:02:20.:02:26.

really performed. Eight. Nine. Nine. Nine.

:02:27.:02:35.

We did it. 35 again! Why are you always getting stuck in your

:02:36.:02:39.

trousers? I know, very annoying. I would like to save Ashley and Ola.

:02:40.:02:45.

Ashley and Ola. I would like to see Ashley and Ola stay.

:02:46.:02:48.

They took us on a magic carpet ride with their exotic rumba. Please

:02:49.:03:01.

welcome Aladdin Taylor-Dawson and his Princess Ola. Well done on

:03:02.:03:06.

making it through, the standard on Saturday was so high. It's just

:03:07.:03:10.

crazy. How surprised were you to find yourselves in the dance-off? I

:03:11.:03:15.

wasn't surprised to be honest. I think because everyone is so good

:03:16.:03:20.

and anyone can be there. So I wasn't surprised. How due feel? I think the

:03:21.:03:26.

same. Everyone else's song was upbeat and fun and it's nice to

:03:27.:03:30.

watch that. Ours was a romantic, sort of magical dance. It stood out

:03:31.:03:34.

in a different way. Due feel confident when you went into the

:03:35.:03:38.

dance-off against Mark? He's been three times before. No, I haven't.

:03:39.:03:41.

Because he has been three times before. I thought you never know

:03:42.:03:44.

what's going to happen here, because if we go wrong, we could go home.

:03:45.:03:51.

You have to do your best again in the dance-off. And you did. You did.

:03:52.:03:57.

Through the carpet again. Did you ever in your wildest dreams imagine

:03:58.:04:01.

there you would be in a little jacket... Grown man, 31... On a

:04:02.:04:06.

flying carpet. Definitely not like that, no. I'm not surprised. So the

:04:07.:04:15.

rumba is always known as being the male celebrities worst nightmare.

:04:16.:04:19.

It's intimate and very slow. Did you enJo I it or are you glad it's gone.

:04:20.:04:24.

Thanks to Ola and her choreography I did enjoy it. Ola did an amazing

:04:25.:04:29.

job. Was difficult to manage how we were going to go with it. We did

:04:30.:04:35.

good. I think you did brilliantly. I know it looked amazing. Was it tough

:04:36.:04:41.

to go on after abbey and Aljaz. How selfish are they? ! Me, me, me with

:04:42.:04:48.

those two. Getting 40 before we go out. Out of order. We said when they

:04:49.:04:53.

got 40s, their dance was amazing, we looked at each other thinking wow,

:04:54.:04:57.

how are we going to beat that? There's no chance. Come on, let's

:04:58.:05:01.

get on the carpet. Did your kids love the carpet? Yes, Buddy adored

:05:02.:05:07.

it. It was nice to speak to him on the camera and send him my love.

:05:08.:05:10.

Apparently he was so busy dancing around the room he wasn't bothered

:05:11.:05:13.

about what I was saying. Him. Fourth week in a row you got 35. It's an

:05:14.:05:20.

amazing score. Rub it in. Is it frustrating to get that again? It's

:05:21.:05:25.

just the whole point system. It's like I must have gone up and down or

:05:26.:05:29.

some way or improved and to get the same thing every week it's becoming

:05:30.:05:35.

repetitive. It's like a stagnant pond, I'm not learning anything and

:05:36.:05:39.

nothing's growing. You are learning. He is. He is improving every week

:05:40.:05:44.

and he's doing very good. I'm loving the dancing, but you think, give me

:05:45.:05:50.

some sort of... Indication. Of what we're doing right. I haven't gone

:05:51.:05:55.

down. We know how much Ola loves it when the phone lines open. She goes

:05:56.:05:58.

crazy. We've noticed in training it seems to be a bit of a connection

:05:59.:06:05.

with you and phones in general, Ola. Erm...... PHONE RINGS

:06:06.:06:19.

Sorry, that's my phone. Home aLen.

:06:20.:06:22.

-- alone. Erm...... Yeah, oh, good. This is James. "Ola, how do you make

:06:23.:06:40.

cereal? We should mute that while we're training in future.

:06:41.:06:44.

He's going to get you. He's going to hate that. That's very funny. Salsa

:06:45.:06:51.

for you this weekend. I'm excited about this. How's it going? After

:06:52.:06:56.

last week, being in the bottom two, salsa, for me, I just can't wait.

:06:57.:07:01.

I'm going to just smash it this week, as well as I can. Queer going

:07:02.:07:07.

for it. -- We're going for it. Everything in the routine. If I can

:07:08.:07:10.

do it. In my mind I'm going to be to do it. In my mind I'm going tobe to

:07:11.:07:14.

be fantastic. Seen those hips go. It will be brilliant. He can move. The

:07:15.:07:18.

judges critique was a lack of hip action. How is that going? It's

:07:19.:07:23.

actually OK, not too bad. Probably salsa maybe be a better dance for

:07:24.:07:29.

Ashley. I think he will enjoy the salsa more than the rumba. He will

:07:30.:07:34.

loosen up. I will make sure. He's a party dance. I can see the twinkle

:07:35.:07:38.

in his eye, he likes a party. Also on Saturday, we have the return of

:07:39.:07:42.

the swing-a-thon, when all the couples go onto the floor head to

:07:43.:07:46.

head at the same time. It's quite an exciting thing. I have to say, if we

:07:47.:07:54.

look back in history, Artem won it in 2008 and Harry and Aliona won the

:07:55.:07:59.

swing-a-thon and they went on to win. It's the first time we see you

:08:00.:08:04.

all at the same time. Yes. Kick, push, whatever you can do. Kick and

:08:05.:08:09.

push. Take them down. Banana skins. Exactly. Will the quiff make a

:08:10.:08:15.

return? I don't know. No. I think it's gone into retirement. It's a

:08:16.:08:20.

good-luck quiff. Bring him back. Put him on a lead and take him with us.

:08:21.:08:26.

Your Aladdin. Good luck on Saturday. Ashley and Ola! As we all know,

:08:27.:08:32.

nothing gets the pro dancers going like a healthy dose of competition.

:08:33.:08:37.

In previous years we've tested them on kick ball changes and botafogos.

:08:38.:08:45.

This year it's time to launch the Strictly: It Takes Two Pro Challenge

:08:46.:08:51.

2013. Bring it on. This is a challenge to set a

:08:52.:08:56.

Guinness World Record for the most drunken sailor dance steps in 30

:08:57.:09:01.

seconds. One challenge. One goal. 30 seconds.

:09:02.:09:08.

I'm joined by choreographer to the stars Richard and Guinness World

:09:09.:09:13.

Records adjudicator, Elizabeth. A drunken sailor is a cross step

:09:14.:09:18.

behind, a step to the side and a replacement of weight to the

:09:19.:09:21.

starting foot. They need to make sure they cross behind and replace

:09:22.:09:25.

the weight. They're really going to have to concentrate on the rhythm,

:09:26.:09:29.

because one foot wrong and it could all be over. This challenge is very

:09:30.:09:34.

physical. So they're going to need stamina.

:09:35.:09:39.

Just 30 seconds Stans in the way of our pros. The prize: A world record.

:09:40.:09:44.

-- stands in the way of our pros. The prize: A world record. Let the

:09:45.:09:48.

battle commence. There you have, it finally an answer to the age-old

:09:49.:09:53.

question - what shall we do with a drunken sailor. Welcome Iveta and

:09:54.:10:00.

Aljaz, our first contenders. APPLAUSE

:10:01.:10:05.

Hello, my darlings. Take your place upon the sofa. Welcome to you both.

:10:06.:10:09.

Very excitingly, it's your first Pro Challenge for you both. Iveta, how

:10:10.:10:15.

excited about it are you? I'm very excited. I've never done it before.

:10:16.:10:19.

I have no expectations. I like the competition between competitors.

:10:20.:10:23.

Aljaz, did you know what to expect beforehand, did any of the pros who

:10:24.:10:27.

have done it before say this is how it works, any advice? Yeah, everyone

:10:28.:10:31.

is trying to do their best. I was going in as well. I have never done

:10:32.:10:36.

as many drunken sailors as I possibly can in 30 seconds. I was

:10:37.:10:41.

petrified. It's so exciting! Any fighting talk with Jenette? All the

:10:42.:10:48.

time. No, no. We were thinking like what should we do to make it quick.

:10:49.:10:53.

But I don't know if there is a recipe just... Just got to get on

:10:54.:10:59.

with it. Let's have a look. Are you ready for this?

:11:00.:11:08.

I think what's difficult is 30 seconds sounds like a short time but

:11:09.:11:14.

it's a long time when you do something nonstop physically. I'm

:11:15.:11:17.

nervous. But I'll do my best. I'll give it a roll and do it for Mark.

:11:18.:11:24.

Hello. Hello. Your first Pro Challenge. How are you feeling? A

:11:25.:11:29.

little nervous. I know I'm against really good professional dancers.

:11:30.:11:32.

Take your position on the dance floor.

:11:33.:11:37.

Are you ready? Yes. Richard, are you ready? Ian, I am ready. Acued Kator,

:11:38.:11:47.

are you -- adjudicator? I am. Three, two, one, go.

:11:48.:12:22.

end, a little bit muddy. Absolutely. Especially

:12:23.:12:52.

for whoever does best. How well do you think you did? I loved your face

:12:53.:13:00.

for whoever does best. How well do How well do you reckon you did? I

:13:01.:13:00.

don't know. Something under 100, How well do you reckon you did? I

:13:01.:13:08.

happy for whoever won. But you are How well do you reckon you did? I

:13:09.:13:14.

it? I do want to win for Mark. As I said, I do

:13:15.:13:21.

it? I do want to win for Mark. As I thinking, "Didn't mention Abbey."

:13:22.:13:21.

You will have to thinking, "Didn't mention Abbey."

:13:22.:13:54.

anxious to see how good I can do. Aljaz, welcome. What are

:13:55.:14:02.

very seriously. I've been practising every night for the last three

:14:03.:14:02.

months. every night for the last three

:14:03.:14:19.

Are you ready? Ready. Richard, are you ready?

:14:20.:15:00.

It looked very precise. I thought you were very consistent, very

:15:01.:15:06.

together, very controlled. There was a bit of speed there. So, who knows.

:15:07.:15:13.

I would be over the moon breaking a new world record, my body is in

:15:14.:15:17.

agony right now, I hope it was enough.

:15:18.:15:22.

Come on Aljaz! The great thing is you didn't stop smiling once during

:15:23.:15:28.

all of that. Let's see how they both did. After each of the professionals

:15:29.:15:32.

had attempted their drunken sailors the footage was watched back in slow

:15:33.:15:40.

motion to verify every single one. They had to be accurate. I can

:15:41.:15:45.

reveal that one of you did 61 drunken sailors and the other did

:15:46.:15:51.

73. However, and there is a big however,

:15:52.:15:58.

one of you had a mammoth 31 steps disqualified. Shocker. Yes, a

:15:59.:16:03.

shocker. That's me. Let's have the moment of truth. The

:16:04.:16:07.

person currently at the top of the leaderboard is...

:16:08.:16:24.

It's Aljaz with 61. It means, Iveta you had 73 but had 31 disqualified.

:16:25.:16:44.

Who did that? Nothing to do with me. She's going to take me on.

:16:45.:16:51.

Who was the judge? Well done. Who do you think could beat you out of all

:16:52.:16:58.

the pros? I'm not sure. I think short people, I think Jenette will

:16:59.:17:03.

do great. Yes little legs. You have to say that otherwise you won't have

:17:04.:17:07.

tea tonight. I know! And Kevin for sure. He's fast.

:17:08.:17:12.

He loves jive. I don't know. We shall see. Well done both of you.

:17:13.:17:15.

Thank you so much for taking part. Iveta and Aljaz! Tomorrow, we will

:17:16.:17:25.

see how Aliona gets on. So far Lisa Riley has been working hard

:17:26.:17:28.

behind-the-scenes. She's worked with the lighting team, floor managing

:17:29.:17:33.

and last weekend, we had to give her props.

:17:34.:17:36.

Thanks Zoe. Yes, they have trusted me to come back and do more work

:17:37.:17:40.

experience. But what have they got in store today? Well, shall we have

:17:41.:17:51.

a look. Come on! Are you OK? Well. You're with the art department. Grab

:17:52.:17:56.

the sofa. Really? Let's go this way. The art department on Strictly Come

:17:57.:18:01.

Dancing are a busy bunch. Each week they can be responsible for sourcing

:18:02.:18:05.

and making every prop. They have the all-important job of getting the

:18:06.:18:09.

studio ready for Saturday's big show. Would you mind carrying on and

:18:10.:18:12.

setting these musical notes around the set for me. Be arty. All right.

:18:13.:18:20.

No worries. Cheers. No pressure. We've lost a few couples, better

:18:21.:18:26.

fill some spaces. For Bruce and his autoqueue.

:18:27.:18:31.

-- autocue. What is your job title and what do you do? I'm the art

:18:32.:18:35.

director and I'm in charge of staging and proppeds for the couple

:18:36.:18:41.

dances and group routines. It's musical week and I've seen the car.

:18:42.:18:46.

We've been given a concept, the flying car. One doesn't exist so

:18:47.:18:51.

we've had it made. There it is. You always come up with the goods, don't

:18:52.:18:56.

you? It's showbiz. You love a bit of glitter. Exactly. So do I.

:18:57.:19:02.

The workshop is where all the props and sets are made and stored before

:19:03.:19:08.

the live show. It's a bit like Santa's grotto for Strictly Come

:19:09.:19:13.

Dancing. With the art department, I thought I'd be creative. It's tiring

:19:14.:19:19.

all this prop stuff. I can use the props can't I, and have a rest.

:19:20.:19:24.

Don't tell the boys! There's no time for sleeping, love. Sofa and Brendan

:19:25.:19:29.

are waiting. We need this for rehearsals. I'm on it. Let's go.

:19:30.:19:33.

Come on then. The prop boys are responsible for setting every prop

:19:34.:19:37.

into position for each rehearsal and live performance in the studio. Is

:19:38.:19:44.

that where you want it? Yes, it's perfect. More glitter on that later.

:19:45.:19:47.

Where are you bringing me? This is the props cage where we keep all our

:19:48.:19:52.

secret, expensive and glittery stuff for the show. It really is glittery.

:19:53.:20:00.

Yeah, everything. The important job today is the paddles. If I give you

:20:01.:20:05.

two sets. These are where they're kept. We can get them ready. Lovely,

:20:06.:20:11.

right. Follow me. Jamie, so am I doing Bruno and Len? Bruno and Len,

:20:12.:20:15.

yeah. They go down next to the chairs. You never see them. We put

:20:16.:20:18.

them in before the show and take them out straight after. The boys

:20:19.:20:22.

are here. I've really enjoyed being part of your team today. I just

:20:23.:20:26.

wondered how I've done, have I done OK? I'd have you every week. I'd

:20:27.:20:33.

give you a 10. Get in! Got to be a 10. I'd have you back again, a 10.

:20:34.:20:39.

Three 10s, Zoe, are you proud of me, I got three 10s, I didn't get one on

:20:40.:20:45.

the series. Back to you. Snment -- back to you.

:20:46.:20:49.

On Saturday night our couples performed some of musical's most

:20:50.:20:52.

iconic characters. Who was memorable and who would we rather forget?

:20:53.:20:55.

Let's ask our leading lady Karen. Please welcome Karen Hardy! Still on

:20:56.:21:17.

the jazz hands. Any excuse. Saturday's theme being musicals, how

:21:18.:21:21.

hard is it to find the right balance between staying true to a dance and

:21:22.:21:26.

impersonating a character? It's really difficult. Sometimes the

:21:27.:21:29.

bells and whistles can take over and we've heard judges in the past put

:21:30.:21:35.

in big complaints. You know what, it was perfection personified. I loved

:21:36.:21:39.

this weekend. For the record, probably the best themed that we

:21:40.:21:43.

have had. I know. It was so extraordinarily exciting, it blew my

:21:44.:21:47.

mind. Let's start with Natalie and Artem. Len's critique was that there

:21:48.:21:52.

wasn't enough foxtrot for him. Was it clever choreography from Artem

:21:53.:21:58.

and if so, why? We have to call it clever choreography, because it

:21:59.:22:01.

definitely sucked me into the performance. I loved it. Because of

:22:02.:22:04.

the attention to detail. What we're seeing now, all these weeks in, the

:22:05.:22:08.

beautiful use of arms. You no ethat really sells the performance. Here

:22:09.:22:15.

this is a feather step in shadow position. It was exquisite. But

:22:16.:22:22.

Leonard was correct again. It's meant to be a 60/40 split. We want

:22:23.:22:28.

to see 40% of the basis of the dance. Looking back over it, there

:22:29.:22:31.

wasn't quite enough. You know what, Artem, he's becoming the big bad boy

:22:32.:22:36.

of the choreography. He's doing this every week, but what we have to look

:22:37.:22:41.

at is entertainment versus content. That's going to wow the audience.

:22:42.:22:45.

Will it wow the judges? They've got to be really careful. Ashley and Ola

:22:46.:22:52.

and their rumba, tough dance for all male celebrities to conquer. How

:22:53.:22:56.

well did he cope with it? I thought he was gorgeous. We know that this

:22:57.:23:01.

rumba is very difficult for men, should they be tough and strong and

:23:02.:23:05.

powerful, you know, steps like this that we're looking at, the opening

:23:06.:23:10.

out, left and right, those men have to deliver that strong hip action.

:23:11.:23:14.

He did it all really well. They moved together in harmony. It was

:23:15.:23:19.

just exquisite. A beautiful, romantic rumba. What I want to show

:23:20.:23:25.

everybody is how to do this step. The opening out, left and right.

:23:26.:23:38.

They involve a cucaracha. That means squashing the cockroach. We do a

:23:39.:23:42.

figure eight with our helps, step to the side close the feet and then we

:23:43.:23:48.

go to the other side. We close the feet. And the hips. You have to

:23:49.:23:54.

think, we're asking a man on live television to be undulating... To

:23:55.:24:00.

crush a cockroach. And undulate his hips. Not easy. He delivered it

:24:01.:24:05.

really well. I loved the performance. Another tough night.

:24:06.:24:09.

Patrick and Anya and their charleston. Patrick made this dance

:24:10.:24:14.

look so easy. Each time something happened I thought, it can't get

:24:15.:24:18.

better. Even better. Three 10s, how complex was that routine? This

:24:19.:24:22.

routine was sensational. What a dance to open it with. You know in

:24:23.:24:26.

the beginning, I've got to say, I didn't even know he was even

:24:27.:24:30.

interested in this show. Look at him now, look at the personality between

:24:31.:24:36.

the two of em, the music, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, but the

:24:37.:24:39.

choreography here, what's interesting to notice a lot of solo

:24:40.:24:44.

work. We say in the ballroom and Latin field, solo work is easier to

:24:45.:24:50.

do than the actual partnering and ballroom and Latin dancing is all

:24:51.:24:56.

about partnering. What I'm hoping, this amazing entertainment,

:24:57.:24:59.

commitment, the technique in this, all of it, he can maintain when they

:25:00.:25:04.

are in their arms, in the arms of each other. Because that was

:25:05.:25:09.

sensational. Well done Patrick. Abbey and Aljaz and their salsa. Oh,

:25:10.:25:16.

my Lord. You got top marks for a salsa with Ramps. The only other

:25:17.:25:21.

couple to do that in our history. Now Abbey and Aljaz. How cleverly

:25:22.:25:28.

did they fuse disco and salsa? Well, I'm going to say, this was

:25:29.:25:32.

brilliant. Anything that's with a musical or theming, you're going to

:25:33.:25:37.

get into a situation people will love it or hate it because it's been

:25:38.:25:41.

themed. Now what I loved about this and I had to keep watching it back,

:25:42.:25:45.

it actually has and the choreography I've chosen here, it has all the

:25:46.:25:50.

essence of salsa in it, but they just brushed it over with a disco

:25:51.:25:54.

element. When I watched it at first, I went this is too much disco, but

:25:55.:25:58.

when you break it down, all the salsa was this there as well.

:25:59.:26:03.

Instead of free arms, they might put the classic points in, loved it. I

:26:04.:26:09.

loved brilliant. Awesome. It was awesome. Susanna and Kevin and their

:26:10.:26:15.

quickstep. The judges said they had a few sync issues. What did you see?

:26:16.:26:21.

First of all the energy these two have, the movement around the dance

:26:22.:26:26.

floor was absolutely incredible. I loved it. That said, the

:26:27.:26:29.

choreography was at a really high level. I can see where Kevin is

:26:30.:26:34.

really pushing her. But he's got to be careful. He's trying to push her

:26:35.:26:38.

into that final, so he's testing her now. There were a few little

:26:39.:26:41.

mistakes that we've picked up here, do you know what, I thought it was

:26:42.:26:47.

sensational. I have a little bit of special demo time here.

:26:48.:26:51.

In that choreography were pendulum swings. What a way to work off those

:26:52.:26:58.

calories because this is just to show you how difficult it is and I

:26:59.:27:02.

want everyone at home to have a go. Point one leg to the side. Jump onto

:27:03.:27:07.

the other win and swing. Now you have to imagine there's two of you

:27:08.:27:11.

doing it at the same time. Now the woodpecker, which I love. Now you

:27:12.:27:18.

tap behind at the same time. And a few of those and a couple of those

:27:19.:27:24.

and that is why it can so easily go out of sync. A sensational

:27:25.:27:27.

performance to close one of the greatest weekends that I think we've

:27:28.:27:30.

had so far on Strictly this year. A clap for that domo alone.

:27:31.:27:37.

The Viennese waltz and Sophie and Brendan. This made me cry. Why did

:27:38.:27:43.

this dance suit Sophie so well and how did Brendan's choreography work

:27:44.:27:51.

to her strengths? Absolutely pure, first class. What I love, she's the

:27:52.:27:57.

queen of quintessential, Brendan, he wants to deliver pure dancing. I've

:27:58.:28:01.

picked up here what we call the fleckerl. Every year we talk about

:28:02.:28:05.

it. A lot of the professionals don't give it to their celebrities because

:28:06.:28:09.

it's so difficult. Not Brendan. He gives her three to do. Three times

:28:10.:28:15.

she went in and did some form of fleckerl. It was absolutely

:28:16.:28:19.

gorgeous. The top lines, the body connection, the movement, there were

:28:20.:28:24.

no gimmicks. It was not about the entertainment of lifts and wham Bam

:28:25.:28:28.

thank you ma'am, it was pure dancing. It was essential, for the

:28:29.:28:34.

record, why were there no 10s? There you go. I'm putting it out there.

:28:35.:28:38.

She can do it and I know she'll be fine. It's so exciting now. Who's

:28:39.:28:42.

going to win? I can't wait! Thank you as ever, a delight, Karen Hardy.

:28:43.:28:49.

Well, that is it for today. Thank you to all my guests. Tomorrow, I'm

:28:50.:28:53.

talking 10s and chatting charleston with Patrick and Anya. Plus Ian is

:28:54.:28:58.

back with a preview of the upcoming dances in the Wednesday Warm-Up. See

:28:59.:29:00.

you tomorrow, good night.
