Live from London. This is strictly, it takes two. Please welcome your | :00:49. | :00:53.
host. Hello and welcome to It Takes Two, | :00:54. | :01:02.
where like all the shops, we've started Hallowe'en | :01:03. | :01:05.
celebrations early! But there's nothing | :01:06. | :01:06.
frightening about this show, Plus, she's the Queen of Halloween, | :01:07. | :01:08.
it's costumer designer, Vicky Gill! And the moment you've | :01:09. | :01:23.
all been waiting for. We'll be revealing which scary | :01:24. | :01:27.
costume you chose for Ian Waite! Thank you for standing | :01:28. | :01:31.
in Mr Pumpkin. Now, our first couple this evening | :01:32. | :01:37.
can generally be found near the very top of the leaderboard - | :01:38. | :01:41.
even after dancing a Rumba - it's terribly difficult, | :01:42. | :01:44.
don't you know! They made it look easy, | :01:45. | :01:45.
it's Danny Oti! That's what I like. It was a | :01:46. | :02:02.
masculine performance. Those hips have plenty of life into | :02:03. | :02:10.
it, darling! I love, love, love watching you. | :02:11. | :02:15.
Would you believe it. It's Danny and Oti. | :02:16. | :02:28.
I want to introduce you like that. The first male celebrity to tackle | :02:29. | :02:33.
the rumba this series, wow! Was it as difficult as everyone says it is? | :02:34. | :02:37.
It really was. It was terrifying during the week. I had some great | :02:38. | :02:45.
examples from Aljaz... Was it the week we did it? The same week. | :02:46. | :02:57.
Actually watching it back it went smoother than it felt, if I'm | :02:58. | :03:00.
honest. I had no idea how it had gone. From where I was it looked | :03:01. | :03:06.
perfect. Len said strong, mass cue line performance. Did -- masculine | :03:07. | :03:11.
performance. Did you have to bring out your inner beef cake? There is a | :03:12. | :03:18.
fine line. Oti would laugh at me in training. That must help! But, Oti | :03:19. | :03:25.
is such a strong, powerful woman, it is hard no not to cower away. She | :03:26. | :03:30.
made sure I brought it. You did, Oti. It was impressive. 36 weeks... | :03:31. | :03:39.
What? 36 points, the two previous weeks, were you sad to drop a point? | :03:40. | :03:45.
It was only one point? Honestly I didn't expect the scores we got at | :03:46. | :03:48.
all. The previous week we did the quickstep. I had the most fun. If we | :03:49. | :03:52.
got twos I would have been happy. Didn't matter. That went so well. So | :03:53. | :03:57.
this week I was honestly thinking it would be quite low and the rumba's | :03:58. | :04:03.
like famous for that. Even after the comments, they were great and | :04:04. | :04:09.
constructive, but when we ent up and got eight and three nines, it didn't | :04:10. | :04:13.
make sense to me, if I am honest. I'll take it! You're a happy, happy | :04:14. | :04:20.
boy. We did talk about the sliding doors. You know Len loves that step. | :04:21. | :04:25.
It's so good. Honestly I don't know what Len likes and doesn't like. I | :04:26. | :04:30.
know when you do any dance you want to have these basic elements of a | :04:31. | :04:34.
rumba. We had, like you don't know... We had, what did we have? We | :04:35. | :04:43.
had opening... We had a few things. You moved on to this week. | :04:44. | :04:47.
The sliding doors. So we had a few things. It was a good feeling that | :04:48. | :04:51.
he kind of recognised and then loved it. We got told off in week one for | :04:52. | :04:58.
not having enough content. Don't mess with her! Yeah! So much love on | :04:59. | :05:03.
line for you. A lovely message. Oti Mabuse, your choreography | :05:04. | :05:12.
is exceptional. It's great we properly see | :05:13. | :05:14.
what you can do this series. called Danny Mac tweeted: I've seen | :05:15. | :05:19.
so much appreciation An immensely incredible talent | :05:20. | :05:22.
and I truly believe, star And for that Danny Mac, | :05:23. | :05:28.
we got you this Hollow wean this week and a foxtrot | :05:29. | :05:47.
to Take Me To Church. What's the occasion you're going to church? | :05:48. | :05:56.
What is the occasion, Oti? It is like, I say a corpse wedding, it is | :05:57. | :06:03.
a wedding and it turns dark. It is a nice wedding but then turns a bit | :06:04. | :06:08.
dark. You see an evil side to the couple that are attached. It is | :06:09. | :06:12.
good. A great concept. There are a couple of little bits in it which | :06:13. | :06:16.
are quite testing and new. It is a really nice touch if we can make it | :06:17. | :06:20.
work. You're making it sound very, very good indeed. It is a contrast | :06:21. | :06:26.
to the rumba as well. Foxtrot. What are your teaching methods like, Oti? | :06:27. | :06:31.
I use anything and everything I can see, just to get him to understand. | :06:32. | :06:37.
I do try: Because I am so technical in teaching, I try to slow it down | :06:38. | :06:41.
and speak to him so he can understand. Whatever I can find, | :06:42. | :06:48.
bananas, brooms, chairs... Are they prizes or are they props? They are | :06:49. | :06:52.
props, so he can understand the language I'm speaking. It seems to | :06:53. | :06:56.
work. It's definitely working! I told her to hold a chair and do the | :06:57. | :07:00.
entire routine. By yourself. I cannot bear it. I am like, no, no, | :07:01. | :07:06.
no. Can I just... ? She's like no and she stands there like a teacher. | :07:07. | :07:09.
No, go and get the chair. I go and get the chair and do it. I hate to | :07:10. | :07:14.
admit it, but it actually works. It works, you can tell on Saturday | :07:15. | :07:18.
night. Keep it up! I tell you. I cannot wait to see you two in the | :07:19. | :07:22.
Church. Danny and Oti! | :07:23. | :07:30.
Now, it's time to check in with some of our hard-working trainees. | :07:31. | :07:32.
Here's how Laura and Giovanni, Judge Rinder and Oksana, | :07:33. | :07:35.
and Ore and Joanne have been preparing for Halloween week. | :07:36. | :07:40.
We are dancing the tango to the Rolling Stones and the Rolling | :07:41. | :07:46.
Stones are one of my favourite bands of all time. | :07:47. | :07:55.
Tango is a quite beautiful dance. Set... Go... My grandma is quicker | :07:56. | :08:03.
and especially dramatic. It is going to be a terrifying | :08:04. | :08:07.
tango. Yes! Beautiful! | :08:08. | :08:15.
The paso doble is strong, powerful and elegant. | :08:16. | :08:22.
One, and two, and three, four... It is very different from other dances | :08:23. | :08:26.
because there are specific shapes we need to create. There is a beautiful | :08:27. | :08:33.
routine this week. I want it to live up to her expectation. You can | :08:34. | :08:42.
expect an incredible butch dance. Five, six, seven, eight... | :08:43. | :08:47.
Oh, the charleston, what are you doing to me? It makes very little | :08:48. | :08:54.
sense. You've got to make sure your feet do | :08:55. | :09:00.
that swifling motion. Mine don't want to do that. He cannot swifle on | :09:01. | :09:09.
his right foot! That is like the basic back foo... Good. Don't kick | :09:10. | :09:15.
yourself! Trying to keep up. Every day just trying to keep up. Please | :09:16. | :09:17.
can I keep up! ? Now it is time for the results of a | :09:18. | :09:25.
momentous poll. You have been waiting in your millions... Sorry, | :09:26. | :09:31.
thousands to decide what Ian Waite should wear for hollow wean. Just to | :09:32. | :09:36.
recap everybody, your options were baller rien that gone bad, Black | :09:37. | :09:51.
Swan T legendary Beetlejuice. Orsome Barbara Streisand and the winner | :09:52. | :09:55.
will be revealed after this short message... | :09:56. | :10:08.
Please welcome, in your winning Hallowe'en costume, what he normally | :10:09. | :10:17.
wears on a Saturday night, Mr Ian Waite. | :10:18. | :10:25.
Oh, darling, you look divine. Thank you very much. I am prima Russian | :10:26. | :10:41.
ballerina. You look glorious. Will you wear this for trick or treat? I | :10:42. | :10:45.
don't want to frighten the kids too much. I hope Sir Matthew Bourne is | :10:46. | :10:52.
watching. In an outfit like that where do you keep your wand? I keep | :10:53. | :10:57.
it here. I didn't have any space in these tights. | :10:58. | :11:02.
Oh, the duck sound! Very funny. Let's look at the couples this week. | :11:03. | :11:07.
Ed and Katya, so much for them, from the public for these guys, never | :11:08. | :11:11.
been in the danceoff. Often bottom of the leaderboard. How can he avoid | :11:12. | :11:16.
being the bottom doing the cha-cha-cha? Yes, he's full of | :11:17. | :11:21.
enthusiasm, which is graesmt got a good energy. I would like to see him | :11:22. | :11:25.
a little bit more aware of his body. He doesn't know where he is with his | :11:26. | :11:30.
body. There are places where, especially in cha-cha-cha, if I stop | :11:31. | :11:34.
it here, where it would be nice if he could get his body over the | :11:35. | :11:39.
standing foot. If you put that heel down, right, he would be able to | :11:40. | :11:42.
straighten that knee and get his body way over there. Do you see what | :11:43. | :11:47.
I mean? If you show us. Over like that. Like that! Here we go. Cha... | :11:48. | :11:58.
He looks like a demented emu! It's not so good this week. So I | :11:59. | :12:03.
give him three pumpkins. Thank you very much! On to Claudia and AJ, a | :12:04. | :12:09.
brilliant samba last week. The judges said it is so, so fast, they | :12:10. | :12:12.
are slowing things down with an American smooth. It is a classic. | :12:13. | :12:17.
How does it look? Beautiful foxtrot in here. To be honest they did a | :12:18. | :12:22.
foxtrot last week. It is very lucky, they have an advantage. It was not | :12:23. | :12:26.
last week. It was the week before. But it has given her a chance to do | :12:27. | :12:30.
the foxtrot already. What I would like to see, as you can see here, I | :12:31. | :12:35.
would like to see her get a little bit more over AJ's right-hand side | :12:36. | :12:39.
and we would see the head a bit more over here and they would be able to | :12:40. | :12:43.
create more of that flower in the vase. It is looking very good. I | :12:44. | :12:47.
will give it two spiders, which is happy spiders. And one pumpkin. Well | :12:48. | :12:58.
done, everyone! Laura and Giovanni hoping to get back on the floor. Are | :12:59. | :13:02.
you looking forward to their tango? She has a good body position. If you | :13:03. | :13:06.
see, she is over the right-hand side. I really like her head | :13:07. | :13:13.
position. She's missing all the heel leads. She's doing all the forward | :13:14. | :13:19.
walks and does one heel lead and the rest are toes. Maybe it is the ankle | :13:20. | :13:24.
situation or the strain. But that needs to be eradicated in time | :13:25. | :13:28.
because obviously tango, you've always got heel leads. You are down | :13:29. | :13:34.
in the knees. Always heel leads. So, for this, darling, I give two | :13:35. | :13:40.
spiders... Oh, no, one spider and two pumpkins. I love how in control | :13:41. | :13:49.
you are of that! Judge and Oksana, a full pelt in their jive. He loved | :13:50. | :13:55.
it, as do we. This week she's being a moth and she's being a butterfly. | :13:56. | :13:58.
What can you tell us about the training? I just love watching him. | :13:59. | :14:03.
He's very strong. He's got a good walk there, as you can see. Good | :14:04. | :14:07.
heel leads, which are fabulous. I would like to see, I mean he's | :14:08. | :14:11.
getting into it. I think he needs a little bit more, he needs more | :14:12. | :14:17.
shaping. I'm liking his costume... Where he's looking, he cannot look | :14:18. | :14:21.
down at the floor. He needs to look across the room. There is a bull | :14:22. | :14:25.
coming at him and he needs to keep that in mind at all times. If he can | :14:26. | :14:32.
keep the elbows out and keep the shaping, it will be fabulous. So, I | :14:33. | :14:37.
will give this... Three happy spiders. Ladies and gentlemen you | :14:38. | :14:53.
can never unsee this... . Bravo. I love it. | :14:54. | :14:56.
Now, last week Head of the Glam Squad, Lisa Armstrong, | :14:57. | :14:58.
gave us some top tips on how to achieve a Hollywood makeover. | :14:59. | :15:01.
Here's her guide to creating a frighteningly good | :15:02. | :15:03.
I do love you. I really do! I'm Lisa Armstrong I'm the hair and makeup | :15:04. | :15:14.
designer for Strictly come dancing. I'm excited about recreating one of | :15:15. | :15:25.
my favourite Hallowe'en looks. It's Killer Doomy. The hair has been | :15:26. | :15:30.
pressed. Loads of pieces, crimp, high top, perfect for a Hallowe'en | :15:31. | :15:34.
look. I will start off with the eyes. In there with the black liner | :15:35. | :15:40.
and create that ghoulish look. Now, I will use a black eye shadow all | :15:41. | :15:44.
the way up to the eyebrow to make sure the line at the end is sharp I | :15:45. | :15:50.
will create the shape with the eye liner brush. I will go underneath to | :15:51. | :15:58.
join the look together. We added glitter over the top so it shines | :15:59. | :16:07.
and has a strictly look. I will apply a base to give it that deathly | :16:08. | :16:14.
Hallowe'en veil. Once you have all your hair backcombed you have pale | :16:15. | :16:18.
vase, black eyes, you don't have to spend a fortune on a costume, you | :16:19. | :16:23.
can put on a red dress, heels and you are a zombie. I will use a | :16:24. | :16:28.
reflex glitter, that will go on the base. She can shine around the dance | :16:29. | :16:33.
floor. The look has to be pretty because we are Strictly. We have to | :16:34. | :16:38.
obviously give a scary background to it and then glitter it up and make | :16:39. | :16:44.
it look glamorous. We come to the gemming, which is obviously very | :16:45. | :16:50.
Strictly. Tweezers, eyelash glue, back of the hand. Pop slightly in, | :16:51. | :16:56.
pop on the face. Done - repeat. Good, hey? ! Now we will do the | :16:57. | :17:01.
lips. We will paint them out with the white. With the eye liner brush | :17:02. | :17:08.
and then this, this, joining that all up. Then we just create the | :17:09. | :17:17.
lines going through. With the tip and the white paint you can go | :17:18. | :17:22.
around and perfect them. It's Hallowe'en, you don't have to be too | :17:23. | :17:27.
precise. You can see how you are dragging the white and black | :17:28. | :17:30.
through. The last bit to this look is putting a nice black line around | :17:31. | :17:33.
the lip. There you go, a perfect Hallowe'en | :17:34. | :17:40.
look. Pop a red dress on the other hand and you're good to go. | :17:41. | :17:50.
Thank you very much, Chloe. Happy birthday to Lisa. The big one, big | :17:51. | :17:59.
4-0. Now from one backstage | :18:00. | :18:01.
hero to another. Strictly's Creative Director | :18:02. | :18:02.
of Choreography, Jason Gilkison, will be joining me on the sofa next | :18:03. | :18:04.
week and we'd love to ask him some You can tweet them using the #It | :18:05. | :18:08.
Takes Two or email your questions Now, it's another big week | :18:09. | :18:12.
for costumes, but it's a walk in the park for this next lady, | :18:13. | :18:16.
it's Vicky Gill. Vicky Gill. How amazing did Ian look | :18:17. | :18:39.
in that getup? Fantastic. We all love a theme you love a theme. It's | :18:40. | :18:43.
a lot of work. Yes. How far in advance do you get prepared for | :18:44. | :18:47.
hall? Not long enough. It's great fun. It's happening. Every week. | :18:48. | :18:51.
Someone is doing something and then - it's changed. They will be this. | :18:52. | :18:55.
For you it must be a nightmare. Cutting things up. We have a sketch | :18:56. | :19:02.
of Jo's dress last week. It worked beautifully. This dress is | :19:03. | :19:08.
simplicity. Two layers to the dress, simple, eight pan e a wide flare. It | :19:09. | :19:13.
works beautifully for the number. Sometimes you don't need to over | :19:14. | :19:18.
cook things. Keep it simple. Ore was gorgeous in the white shirt and | :19:19. | :19:24.
white waist coat. Judge Rinder and Oksana are being a moth and | :19:25. | :19:28.
butterfly. This is unusual? A challenge. The concepts are always a | :19:29. | :19:33.
challenge. We've enjoyed this. We have had this hand painted. A lovely | :19:34. | :19:39.
lady worked hard this week to do this for us. It's wings. We didn't | :19:40. | :19:44.
know how it would work at the beginning of the week. We will see | :19:45. | :19:47.
what the proportion is like on Oksana tomorrow morning. With. We | :19:48. | :19:51.
will continue the painting up into the bodies, that is why it's not | :19:52. | :19:59.
matching right now -- bodice. More of this will happen on the wings. It | :20:00. | :20:03.
will transform tomorrow, as normal. Not coming out? Probably! They are | :20:04. | :20:11.
doing Paso Doble. Daisy and Aljaz doing Paso Doble. This is Daisy's | :20:12. | :20:16.
outfit. It's traditional. When we get to show time on Saturday we will | :20:17. | :20:20.
have coloured flowers around the neck line. The skirt will probably | :20:21. | :20:25.
be longer. She has such long legs, they go on forever. Hold it like | :20:26. | :20:34.
that. Thrills. We have about 100 circular thrills. A circle, 10 | :20:35. | :20:42.
centimetres in-depth. That is multiplied and sown around the | :20:43. | :20:46.
bottom. Leigh was working hard on this morning. Aljaz will he wear a | :20:47. | :20:54.
vest or not? It's not going to be Gorka. We love him, he comes in and | :20:55. | :20:58.
makes anything look amazing. He does. Red and black jacket. They | :20:59. | :21:07.
will compliment each other. This week, with Hallowe'en she is dancing | :21:08. | :21:14.
to Bat Out Of Hel Anita with Brendan. We have black, red, black, | :21:15. | :21:23.
red and more black and red. You have to create diversity through the | :21:24. | :21:26.
line-up. They are bats, it had to be black. We put orange and peach and | :21:27. | :21:32.
red through the core of Anita's dress. Anastacia's dress. -- | :21:33. | :21:43.
Anastacia. We will create a wing detail through her costume. We hope | :21:44. | :21:46.
it will be fringe. Will wings restrict movement? Sometimes they | :21:47. | :21:50.
get caught. I hate it when that happens. Oti is being the corpse | :21:51. | :21:56.
bride? That is right. Talk us through her frock. The base of Oti's | :21:57. | :22:01.
dress is a standard shape for foxtrot. She has enough flare and | :22:02. | :22:09.
movement. A detailed hemline there is lots of chantilly lace, but to | :22:10. | :22:13.
create the bride feel and that volume to the dress we've twisted | :22:14. | :22:24.
layers of tulee over the bodice. All the things to come with it are her | :22:25. | :22:33.
veil and bouquet. Can't wait to see it come to life. And Vicky Gill's | :22:34. | :22:38.
children get their costumes from the shops where we get our kids. Yes. . | :22:39. | :22:41.
Vicky Gill. Our final couple danced a romantic | :22:42. | :22:45.
Rumba under the glowing lights of the Eiffel Tower on Saturday | :22:46. | :22:48.
night, and we couldn't have loved it # Baby I didn't hold you... # | :22:49. | :23:04.
You are consistently good. Well done. You have wonderful movement. | :23:05. | :23:14.
Beautiful quality and relationship between you. It was one classy | :23:15. | :23:28.
Rumba. Louise and Kevin. Hello, admiring your shoes. That was a | :23:29. | :23:33.
glassy rumba last week. A get away to Paris. Were you pleased with how | :23:34. | :23:38.
it went? I was. I was nervous about doing the rumba, you feel so | :23:39. | :23:45.
exposed. All week Kevin was saying - get into character, you have to live | :23:46. | :23:48.
it. On the night I couldn't have done it better. If you do your best, | :23:49. | :23:52.
regardless of how good anyone else is, that is all you ask for. Sglm | :23:53. | :23:55.
you brought that character nicely. You can have a sexy rumba, it did | :23:56. | :24:02.
feel romantic, like you were... That is what we decided. We didn't want | :24:03. | :24:08.
to... It didn't feel right to writhe all over each other. We wanted to | :24:09. | :24:14.
make it classy... Not that you're not beautiful! Wife, husbands and | :24:15. | :24:20.
kids. We wanted a classic romantic rumba that puts pressure on things. | :24:21. | :24:24.
It's more spoking it's all about technique then. You nailed it. I | :24:25. | :24:30.
hear in rehearsals there were a couple of mistakes? I went rogue in | :24:31. | :24:35.
rehearsal. Did my own thing. Made up my own dance. Kevin put his arm out | :24:36. | :24:40.
and I ran off. She ran off. I didn't know where she was going. When that | :24:41. | :24:45.
happens how much does it make you frightened that the same thing would | :24:46. | :24:52.
happen? I felt bad. The end position Kevin swoops me on to the floor I | :24:53. | :24:57.
went, "I'm so sorry I went rogue on you" I was scared. Does he get | :24:58. | :25:02.
angry? No. He said - did you notice that you did it all wrong? I kind of | :25:03. | :25:08.
did! Yeah, I kind of did. Len said he wanted you to bring the wow | :25:09. | :25:16.
factor. It's a rumba, you can't go, wow, wow. How were you feeling about | :25:17. | :25:20.
comments like that. What do you say Kevin? I hated it. It's good, get it | :25:21. | :25:25.
off your chest. . The obviously, rumba is not a big showy dance. | :25:26. | :25:31.
However, we've just sort of said, if that is how they feel, that is how | :25:32. | :25:36.
they feel. We have taken it upon ourselves this week to crank it up. | :25:37. | :25:39.
This week is a big week for us. We have got to go for it. That's been | :25:40. | :25:44.
the talk in training all week. We have to show them we haven'ted | :25:45. | :25:48.
plateaued. We want to take on the boys above us. Yes. If they turn to | :25:49. | :25:54.
you and go - it's too much, we will all be cross. Darcey said you have | :25:55. | :25:58.
the ability to be at the top of the leaderboard. Is that where you want | :25:59. | :26:02.
to be or are you happy where you are? How do you feel about it? I | :26:03. | :26:07.
want to do my best. We are all different in this competition.s for | :26:08. | :26:11.
me, coming into it... It took me to really build my confidence and get | :26:12. | :26:15.
guts. I want to go out there every Saturday night. I smile my way | :26:16. | :26:19.
through every dance whether I should or shouldn't. Whether the character | :26:20. | :26:24.
requires a smile, I seem to carry on smiling. I'm having a really good | :26:25. | :26:28.
time. I want to do my best. Where I come on the leaderboard... If you're | :26:29. | :26:33.
up the top, it's a bonus. Hopefully, I won't be down the bottom. The | :26:34. | :26:36.
people at home have to love what you are doing. I love your attitude. | :26:37. | :26:41.
It's absolutely right. This week it's Hallowe'en. It's on to | :26:42. | :26:45.
Charleston. You look like you are having so much fun in training. | :26:46. | :26:49.
Louise, it's full on, isn't it? It's so fast! I said to Kevin, you might | :26:50. | :26:55.
have to carry me to the judges, I'm feeling my age this week. The I will | :26:56. | :27:00.
be crawling over. A lot of them are young on this. A mum of two. She | :27:01. | :27:08.
looks very young, you know... It does look absolutely joyious. Are | :27:09. | :27:10.
you happy with how training is going? I loved this week. I am | :27:11. | :27:16.
enjoying the Charleston. I think Louise will be amazing at it. | :27:17. | :27:20.
Putting pressure on you. We are in bits a little bit. Every morning we | :27:21. | :27:24.
have been coming in like we are 94 years old. I love the fact he is as | :27:25. | :27:29.
tired as me at the end of it. Normally I go - give me a moment. He | :27:30. | :27:35.
goes, we will do one more Rumba. After this one be he's like - shall | :27:36. | :27:40.
we have 10 minutes. Your characters are brill yanlt. | :27:41. | :27:44.
Now in keeping with the theme, we'd like to play a little game. | :27:45. | :27:48.
Louise and Kevin, be prepared to put your lives | :27:49. | :27:50.
I'm going to ask you a number of questions and all you have to do | :27:51. | :27:57.
is say whether it's a trick or treat, using these paddles. | :27:58. | :28:00.
Being trapped in a lift with Craig Revel Horwood? He has been nice to | :28:01. | :28:08.
me. Doing a lift with Ed Balls? Judge Rinder judging one of your | :28:09. | :28:10.
dances? I like him. Beating your sister | :28:11. | :28:19.
Joanne Clifton an Saturday night on the leaderboard? | :28:20. | :28:25.
Good luck on Saturday. I cannot wait to see you in that outfit. Louise | :28:26. | :28:30.
