Episode 11 Strictly - It Takes Two

It's Monday and what a weekend! We have the latest Broadway news for

you. Coming up: Another couple bites the dust. Dan and Katya are

here. Holly's been released from her cage

and will be dropping in with Artem. His scores may be lower than one of

Robin's tops, but we still love him - Craig Revel Horwood is here.

Strictly favourite Dr Pamela Stephenson will be analysing what's

really going on between the couples in the training room. This is It

Hello. You all right? Thank you! Hello and welcome to It Takes Two,

Broadway weekend did not disappoint. Wasn't it good? There were lights,

cameras and action. Unfortunately, it was the final curtain for Dan

and Katya. They will be joining me in a moment. First, if you missed

out, do not despair. Here is a round-up of the highs and the lows.

For me, you are the most improved dancer. You looked elegant and

dreamy. Wonderful! You didn't really capture for me the spirit of

the samba. Mr Mr Showbiz! There were lots of style but no substance.

Illegal lifts will not be tolerated and will be penalised. Stu-pen-

dous! The couple leaving tonight is Oh, please give it up for Dan and

Katya. APPLAUSE Oh. Bless you. You look gorgeous tonight. She looks

great. Thank you. You don't look so bad yourself. If she had worn that

in training I might have given it an extra 10%! The second couple to

leave. Where did it go wrong? What happened? I think I concentrated

too much on the dancing element of Strictly Come Dancing. When you

should have been concentrating on what? I don't know! I'm not sure.

That was the best thing about working with Katya. She was

teaching me how to dance and I didn't do it particularly well. We

had a lot of dancing in our routines and therefore during

training and I am grateful for that. That is what I wanted to do.

saying you had too much dancing during training? I don't know.

Maybe that is what the judges weren't looking for. I don't know.

No, Dan is not - he's kind of the only celeb that's not really a

showbiz celeb and... We should talk about this. You are not from a

showbusiness background. There are a number of us like that. It is

weighted towards those that have had experience in the performing

arts. That is not true. saying... Now I can argue with him!

I went this week. First to go was Edwina. Audley was in the bottom

two in the first eviction week - sorry, eviction? Wrong show. Nancy

of course. The four people that have been involved in the bottom

two, they don't have any connection with the performing arts. Robbie is

a sportsman. I'm not saying - but four out of the six... That is how

training goes! What did you feel like when your name was read out

and you realised you were in the bottom two with Nancy and Anton?

Did you think we are going to go? Yes, I thought we were going to go.

Really? Yes. I know how entertaining Nancy is. She might

not be the best dancer, but she offers a lot of entertainment and

fun and Anton is so well-loved. is OK. I love it when it all comes

out! You can let rip now! You had an awful lot of support online. And

a lot of people saying you are a bit of a pin-up. Ladies, who have

we got here? Louisb says, "I fancy Dan lob!" That is you. And Goldi

Loxx88 commentated that Dan Lobb ain't too bad for a silver fox!

That is what I called him. You are a bit younger than George Clooney?

I am. Are you really?! Is that silver fox coloured? Are you going

to keep up the spray tans? No. you keep that waistcoat? No, it was

taken off me. I was stripped naked as soon as I... I was thrown out of

the building within ten minutes of the Results Show. Did Kate give you

a ribbing this morning? No, she was supportive and sympathetic. Deep

down she was yes! She stayed in a bit longer than you? I am the worst

Breakfast TV presenter ever to appear on your show. No, I am! It

is a matter-of-fact. Even Fiona Phillips stayed in four weeks!

right! Well, Mr Lobb, we have loved having you on. Here is your best

bits! It is time to reveal your Strictly partner. Shall we start?

think it will be a successful partnership. I'm not against you.

Do it again! Very nice. Don't sound so surprised! Transitions were a

bit crumbley. I found the judges' comments confusing. I have worked

hard on my transitions! Can I give you some criticism? No. Dan is

sensitive. We are going to go crazy. Sounds like farting a bit. Stop!

Are you done? Yeah. OK. It was lum- pest-uous! Craig will lose some

credibility. The story she's come up with fits beautifully. She is an

actress. I can act. Look at this. Generally, you move well around the

floor. I would have liked to have seen a little bit more fluidity

overall. The couple leaving tonight is Dan and Katya. Thanks very much

indeed. It was a fantastic thing to do. I'm grateful that you were

there with me to experience it. thank you so much for this

wonderful, wonderful time. I will miss you and I will always remember

you. Mwah! Even during that, Katya is saying look how high your

shoulders are! He never allowed me to say it during training. That is

least! You did. Did you enjoy Broadway weekend? I did. I was very

excited about it. I loved Broadway. If we had our way we would have

Broadway every week? Yes, absolutely. I felt a bit more

lenient actually. You did pull out some high scores this weekend? We

will talk about that. Let's talk about Lulu and Brendan. I had tears

in my eyes watching this, I thought it was so beautiful. So did I. That

frock covered up all her hip action! Then there was this

disastrous lift. I love a lift as much as any other person. Yes, as a

choreographer, I would say the music is telling me to lift.

Unfortunately, the rules tell you you can't! Could you not have bent

the rules slightly because it was Broadway week? We do in the

American Smooth. You have an opportunity in the show to do three

fabulous lifts why not save them for then? Otherwise it will be

complete carnage, isn't it, darling? There will be lifts...

Lift City. I am going to keep penalising it because it is

ridiculous to do it. I know. Brendan did give a bit of defence

there, but you were not having it? That is fine, you know, if you want

to take the risk of losing points, then lift all you want! Maybe not

fair on Lulu? I agree. You are right. I'm glad you mentioned that.

I'm glad too. You were scaring me! Chelsee and Pasha did the cha-cha.

I thought this was fantastic. You were saying it was too disco?

She's bending her legs through it a lot. It is more - she is using the

ground a little bit too in a disco fashion. That is the music she had

to dance to. She is a brilliant dancer, don't get me wrong. I want

to see it done properly. Tech anyly... Absolutely. --

Technically?... Absolutely. She needs to calm down. She is going to

be doing the quickstep next week. Hopefully, her top half won't be

sort of motoring along! As long as her feet are, it will be fine.

Anita and Robin. They did the jive and you said great characterisation,

but both you and Bruno agreed she needs to tighten up technically?

She needs to keep her legs together as well! Steady on! She does. It is

a little bit loose. For instance, that, she didn't finish the move.

She just went like that. There was no sort of finish, edge, to it.

There was no real quality to the dancing. The verve, the attitude

was there, but no quality. OK. Did you enjoy it at all? Yes, I enjoyed

it. I enjoyed it. Great song, great outfit. It won't get high scores.

Robin's hair? I wouldn't mind that wig! I might wear it next week!

Robbie and Ola, he did a tango. He's come a long way from that 2 in

week one. You gave him a 7 in tango. You have to be confidence. He is

well studied. That is showing some example of what you can go from to,

you know. That is what this show is about. It is about having the right

attitude and not being alarmed if a judge says, "Well, your fingers are

out of place, your back is not quite right, your bum needs tucking

under. "Yt you have to take those criticisms -- you have to take

those criticisms on board." Let's squeeze in Harry and Aliona. You

gave them an 8 for this jive and you said he had finally arrived in

the competition. You liked this? did. We saw his personality really

for the first time. Nothing to do with seeing his chest? Nothing at

all to do with that wonderful sculpted chest and abdominal muscle

wall he possesses! He might have got an extra point if the top had

come off completely! We can save that for a couple of weeks' time.

Nancy and Anton and their tango, the lowest score you gave of the

night and you said she was like a plodding mule trudging through mud?

That is true. You only have to look at - look at that! This is rag doll

city now. It is a nightmare. Brave to attempt some tango steps,

which was good. They did more dancing. I gave her 1 the week

before, so 4, that is a huge mark- up, really. I was being generous to

be honest. OK. She is going to be doing the paso next week. LAUGHTER

Don't pull that face. Jason and Kristina, top dog again this week.

Why did you love Jason's routine? You gave him a 9? I loved it. I'm

loving it because of Kristina and what she did with it. I thought it

was really good advice and good steerage if you like to get him to

do a bit of Priscilla and show the difference between the aggression

of the tango and that happy-go- lucky very sort of camp Priscilla

Queen of the Desert stuff. We do love a bit of that. We do. Some

people in the competition, what shall remain nameless, need to do a

bit of less. You might be talking about Russell! I might be. Will you

can't wait! APPLAUSE On Saturday, Holly certainly showed Artem who

was boss in their rather hot tango. I will be chatting to them in a

moment. First, here is how they made such a sizzling impression.

was a great start and a great dance. Well done. Craig did some stunning

lines. I thought he would be more feisty. You got me going. I want to

be a criminal! Everybody will queue up to join you in jail! Getting out

of the costume scenario, that was a bit messy. You got out of that

beautifully. I very much enjoyed it. Thank you. 8! It's a bit sad that

it didn't go perfect. 7 was good from Craig. Going to come back

bigger and better next week. Hopefully with no wardrobe

malfunctions. Wouldn't that be nice?! Holly-smoking and Artem are

here! That is a great name for you. Holly, you looked amazing on

Saturday. First out again, they loved pushing you out first. How

was Broadway week? It was really fun. We got to dress up and I got

the Wear the wig and play someone else, I was more comfortable and

I'm good being someone else and I feel a little shy being myself.

do you think she coped, Artem, with the little wardrobe malfunction,

heel stuck in your frock, it happens? I thought she dealt with

it so well? Absolutely. She carried on and normally people stop and

freak out. It was good. Handled like a pro? I get the attitude hair

flick! I know. I might be trying that myself. And the buzz online,

everybody loving your racy outfit and your wig. Did that help you get

into character? Yes, definitely. You don't feel like yourself. You

look different and I was passing people in the hall backstage and

they were going, "Hi, it's you." That was fun. You were saying to

Tess how much you enjoyed killing Artem here. Very much so. We are

going to work that into the choreography every week. I think

it's going to be like a South Park and character of Kenny who is dying

every episode. Who killed Artem?! You are fifth on the leaderboard.

How much do you think, Artem... thought we were fourth. Joint

fifth... Ooh! How do you feel you can get further up that

leaderboard? I think not cutting up in skirt with the heel would help.

We need a translator! That is a costume thing! We can get one

rushed in! What about the dancing steps? What more do you want from

Holly? You are quite tough with her? I am, always! Every rehearsal.

You seem quite laid-back today. Yeah. I did slip something in his

coffee! How is the Viennese waltz going? It is going! It is day one.

Usually in day one I am always tracing out to make a good routine

and you try a different variation so we can see if it works. It is on

its way. It will work. It will be better dance than anything we have

done so far. How are you going to be getting into character for the

Viennese waltz, Holly? Slightly different to your tango? It will be

interesting this week. I flow's a few ideas to get me into the

elegant and graceful mindset. You will have to wait and see. Oh. You

are such a tease! And do you think it would - do you like Holly doing

ballroom? Is that a place you think she is quite natural? Yeah, I think

definitely it helps because you are always in the frame. You feel more,

you know, more supported. I guess being on your own, if you have

never danced before, is always stressful because you feel so

lonely. I think being in ballroom hold... You are in the safety of

his arms this week. Not so lonely. Good luck with the Viennese waltz.

Holly and Artem! APPLAUSE I'm not playing short Top Trumps with you

any more! We saw many theatrical moments on stage at the weekend.

What dramas occurred behind scenes? Top Hat! Cane! It's Broadway week,

baby! Nice throwing(!) showbiz! Mixture of feeling cold and nervous.

Broadway is my spiritual home. I cannot wait. Broadway week, jazz

hands. Straight in. Bless! Someone has to go home in week -- home this

week t. Never mind. I'm not going home this week. Do I need my

dancing shoes on? I do. I'm dancing! I don't know what's going

on in this show! Chelsee has bashed her head! I've got a lump.

Apparently she walked into a door, or the door walked into her! It's a

little bit swollen. We love the shoe! I'm gutted. I'm more worried

about the Viennese waltz than who won the Rugby World Cup! Get over

it! Nice shorts. This is what happens when you spend too late a

night out. This is what I call genius movement of a cape! Last

week it was the boa, this week it is the hat! We will have no props

next week. We have done the opening to tonight's massive show. Towards

the end of the number, the celebrities join the professionals.

I thought a pile-up on the M25 would look better than that. The

expression it will be all right on the night? It's a lie. They need to

Five minutes. To countdown. Wrong! Woah! Oh dear. What I'll be

looking for is the acting. Basically, what Broadway is all

about. It is so hectic. There is no time to be nervous. Footballers

wear lipstick! It's gloss. That's worse! This is Broadway. We are

talking New York razzmatazz, come on! I can't wait to see what they

are going to do. APPLAUSE Oh, we loved the jazz hands. Anyway,

we are very excited because now as you know we always keep an eye on

training and love nothing more than a bit of analysis. To help us with

our Strictly psychology, we have enlisted the help of a glamorous

blonde - Dr Pamela Stephenson! APPLAUSE Lovely to be back. I was

going to say isn't it wonderful to be back here? Welcome back. Thank

you. We have both been there. We know what it is like. It is quite a

big thing when you are thrown together with somebody you have

never met before in your life into quite an alien world, the world of

dancing. It is not just the dancing, it is a psychological mind field?

Absolutely. If you think the dancing is tough, the relationships,

the instanceness of them can be worse. I have been looking at some

of the training footage. I have been looking at their personality

styles, the conflict, the power struggles, their ability to handle

stress and the family roles they bring into the Strictly

relationship and also a bit of about the attraction between

couples. Which is our favourite bit! We will look at the boys this

week. So let's have a look at Jason and Kristina. They have been top of

the leaderboard for three weeks running. Obviously doing something

right. You know, outside Strictly this probably wouldn't have been a

natural match. They are doing very, very well because they are very

alike in certain ways. People think that Australians are laid-back. But

the Australian theatre training is very disciplined, it matches the

Russian training and so both of these are highly motivated, they

want to win. Yeah, you can tell that from Jason. Let's look at some

of their training footage. This is from 5th October. What can you tell

us from examining this? Look at this, he is very intense, his hands

are going, he does have some anxiety and she will have to

contain that. She is swinging her heads. She doesn't mean to be

flirtatious, but that is a flirtatious act. He is ignoring it.

He has got his eye on the prize. He is not going to be distracted by

Kristina's beauty. OK. I will try swinging my legs next time Robbie

is in! Harry and Aliona. He is our youngest celebrity. What are you

making of this? These two are like twins! Look at their features, they

are very similar. They are beautifully matched. They will have

to contain the romantic aspect of their relationship. You are looking

so excited. Harry is naturally introverted but he is having a lot

of fun with Aliona. Let's have a look at them in training here.

how seductive she is. It is very smart of her. She is getting the

best out of him. Look, little pat on the backside. She knows how to

get him to do a good job. He is loving it. He just loves being

dominated by a sexy fit Russian woman. Who wouldn't?! I would love

to be! Audley and Natalie. Big powerful man, how is he coping with

being bossed around by a lady? Sparks could fly. I have some

concerns. I don't think he has ever met anyone quite like Natalie. She

is gorgeous, she is strong, she is not going to flirt with him. She is

not going to cuddle him. She is just going to expect the best from

him. In his world of boxing, probably most of his coaches have

been male, so this is a switch for him. Not many women in boxing. This

is them in training. Let's do it. Mmm. Turn it on. Turn it on! Green

corner, round three. Keep it small. Keep it tight. Keep those knees

pumping. She is saying to Audley keep it small! Look at the size of

him! Absolutely. He was talking to the camera there and not talking to

Natalie? This will make her crazy. She is very competitive. She is

quite competitive with him physically which doesn't go down

well with him. She is very smart and she is doing a great job with

him. Let's talk about Robbie and Ola. Another sportsman here. How is

he keeping? Look at the two of them. I call them the Dazzle Twins! They

have the same hair, the same tan, the same teeth. He's a wonderful

athlete. My husband says he is like an animal on the football pitch.

was. The thing is, h is very sensitive. He's the opposite. He's

very vulnerable. Even here on It Takes Two, he said something about,

"I have never felt so wanted." He is quite needy. He needs Ola to be

very nurturing. Almost to be mummy, to be good mummy. The trouble is

that Ola, who is very good at being nurturing, can also be bad! She is

our favourite! When she's bad Flavia. Always having a laugh. Are

they a match made in heaven? It is a very good match. Essentially, he

does pay a lot of attention to what she says. Russell is a very big

personality. Here, he really is focused, he is doing things, he

gives her the control. The thing is, he is a very big personality and

that can be a problem for an introvert like Flavia. Sometimes

when somebody is taking up all the space in the room, it can be

exhausting, it can even make the other person put on weight.

Really? You want to take up more space in the room. Wouldn't that be

incredible if they swapped physiques! LAUGHTER That would be

amazing. Good Lord. Let's talk about Rory and Erin. Erin is over

the moon with this partnership? This is is a very good pairing. She

has a lot of respect for her. He has worked with women before. He

doesn't mind being bossed around by a woman. Erin is being very smart

with him. She's - he gets frustrated but she knows how to get

him out of the frustration. She does it in a very adult way. She is

not babying him. I loved this. It is like watching apes. Will you
