Episode 25 Strictly - It Takes Two

It's Friday, coming up tonight: After the drama of the tango,

Chelsee and Pasha are getting into the swing of the Charleston. I will

be dropping into the BBC1 studio for a chat with Robbie and Ola.

Melanie C will be joining us, Vernon Kay and superfan Christopher

Biggins. This is Strictly: It Takes Live from Television Centre, this

is Strictly: It Takes Two. Here's Zoe!

APPLAUSE AND CHEERING. Hello! Hi. Welcome to Friday's It

Takes Two. Tomorrow is the halfway point and the competition is

getting fierce and in just 23 hours, 53 minutes and 37 seconds the ten

remaining couples will be taking to the dancefloor. Chelsee and Pasha

will be joining me in a moment. First, here's a reminder of how

they got on last week with the You were like a Lancashire hotpot.

Out you came, all satisfying and delicious. You have raised your

game. That was clean, sharp, full of attack. You coped with the

wardrobe malfunction quite well. Although it did throw you. This

wicked little witch is a wicked little dancer!

I just embarrassed myself on live TV. No, you didn't. I did. You just

thought you did and that thought overtook. But you were fine.

my darling. My goodness me. I think they are a lively bunch tonight! I

like it. The whole nation felt for you on Saturday night. You had a

bit of a rollercoaster of a Hallowe'en. When you watched it

back did you see it wasn't as bad as you thought it was? No, it

wasn't as bad. To be honest, when I did see it back I thought why did I

kick up such a fuss? At the time I didn't know what the audience had

seen or didn't know what everyone had seen it just threw me and

because I started crying I felt daft so I started crying even more.

Bless you. I am not surprised because your emotions are so

heightened, you work so hard towards it, you are so nervous and

something like that happens and I could see completely why you

thought the worst. That's the last thing a girl needs. I was mortified.

It wasn't soed about. Your dancing was so brilliant. Pasha... I am

like, get off me! I was shouting at the telly, going Pasha, give her

your jacket. You hadn't realised what had happened. I did realise

and I checked everything, professional look. Yeah, I bet you

did! A likely excuse. Anyway, you were worried last week because you

hadn't had loads of training, how was the dance before that? It's

always hard when you think if you had more time you would polish it a

little bit more. We basically got a skeleton of the dance down, steps

are done but not too much time. It's been a hard week and Saturday

topped it off. It was waiting to happen. It was a - this week the

Charleston and I have a feeling, from seeing bits of your training,

that you are liking the Charleston. It's fast. It is fast. And bouncy.

Just like you are. Well suited to Chelsee, fast and bouncy, Pasha.

Shaoutly -- absolutely. I don't know whether to be insulted or what

here. You can do it all really quick. You are bouncy and bubbly.

That's what we mean. Exactly. you managed to grab more training

this week? Yes, we had more training this week than previous

week. Yeah. So we had more time to think our -- sink our teeth into

the dance. I am he feeling more confident. So you should because

you are amazing. Fans are loving you at the moment. Also, let's

Lieutenant, please tell me there is a story this week. Yes. Is there?

Tell me. He knows, he is playing dumb. He is like your brother. You

are like stop it! Yeah. What's the store kreu this week -- story this

week? Can I tell you? Yeah, I won't tell anyone. My car breaks down and

he doesn't want to fix it at first. I am a mechanic. I shake a little

overalls? We were working on that, because it's a glamorous show, so

mix and match and make it look glamorous enough. In the words of

I think we have bits and pieces. Ups and downs. Yes. I gave her a

nickname this week, Text-zilla. are going to get repetitive strain

injury from texting so much there are many things I love about you,

but I have spotted you are a bit of a raver. Feast your eyes on this.

You are full of interesting dancing today.

Beautiful. Almost. We will save it for next year, how about that?

MUSIC. Love it. Back to waltz. What dance

is that? Just mine. Just yours, OK. I like that dance, but let's never

do it again. I tell you what, leave your brother at home, can you take

the old girl out dancing? Will you be incorporating that move

tomorrow? No, but if I do stay... Yeah. You will work it in somehow.

Jennifer Grey was on the show yesterday, did you hear what she

said about you? I did and I am speechless. I was absolutely

shocked. I can't believe she said such nice comments about me.

are a bit of a dirty dancing fan? Yes, it's any little girl's dream

for someone as good as amazing as her to say something like that.

Just look at the clock now, because in 23 hours, 47 minutes and five

seconds you are going to be dancing in front of Jennifer Grey, what are

you going to be impress the judges tomorrow? Charleston hands I have

been working on. Time something good. High energy. Are we going to

yourselves! What were you doing in the background there? I said to

Vernon, you could have worn something better than this.

Slightly underdressed. He is trying to go ta-da. I was told to come

smart casual, Christopher was obviously to come as a glitterball.

I am going to a charity event later. I rarely wear things like this!

Melanie, a couple of your mates, Emma has done this show and Mel B

on Dancing with the Stars, would you be tempted? Because Emma and

Melanie did so incredibly well, they've set the standard. I would

love to do it, but I would be petrified and it's so much

commitment the show and I have seen it firsthand at how much work you

have to put in and also the people - I have so much respect for people

that do it especially when they've had no dance training because I

would be petrified and I danced as a kid, but yeah, it's an amazing

show. I love it. The call's probably coming in this week.

Vernon, I have to ask you what is your life like at home? How does

Strictly affect your home life, because you are a Strictly widow

effectively? Our home life revolves around Strictly when it's on. The

kids get engrossed by it and obviously we like the little bits

of gossip and news and what's coming up throughout the week

because Tess is drip-fed it. has a live feed. We sit around

watching this show and the kids get involved. On Saturday the kids are

dancing and I have to join in. I borrow one of Biggins' dresses, I

play the Dame and the kids are principle acceptss. I might send

Norm around to hang out. Chris, who is your favourite so far? Can I

call you Christopher or Biggins? Whatever you like. My favourite so

far has to be Jason, because I think - I know Jason for years and

quite frankly, he's never been a dancer, so I am amazed. I did

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang with him and he was a disaster. But he has

improved. What's interesting, like last week I went to the studio to

see it and I thought he gave the best dance I think of the whole

season, of everybody. I thought he was sensational. He's really

working at it. He's not being lazy, which sometimes he can be. I think

he's really going for it. He is putting a lot of effort in it.

Let's look at all our couples. We are going to start with Alex and

James, this week they're doing the quickstep.

This is them training yesterday. Loving the use of leg-warmers.

Melanie, what do you think of the music, does this get the seal of

approval? This is something I remember dancing to as a kid.

think Alex looks brilliant here. This dance could really suit her,

more than things have in previous weeks. She had a good week last

week. She had a bit of a knock when she did the rumba. What do you

think about her and the quickstep? She has to play the character, live

the character of the dance. We know she's got a bit of stick from Craig.

If she consumes the dance and becomes the dance... You really do

know! Like Len always says and Bruno, you got to live the dance!

If she did that then she would be on to a winner T would give her an

extra 20% on the dancefloor. They don't need need Jennifer Grey, they

could have got you. Cheaper! Let's talk about Harry and Aliona.

They're doing the samba and dancing to Stevie Wonder. What do you think

of our little drummer boy? A couple of the judges said he is a

contender? I think he will definitely be in the final three. I

really do, because he's great. He has the most sensational body.

hadn't noticed. I you saw it, I don't know somewhere last...

magazine? Was it a magazine? Stop stalking him! He is very, very good.

I would be surprised if he wasn't in the last three. He has to relax

more. You can see he is kind of - his face is always the same. It's

one, two, three, four. If he smiled and relaxed and maybe took a leaf

out of some of the male dancers, the professionals, at how they

relax and let the rhythm flow through their bodies. He is doing

the samba, that is more fun. That's a training video so maybe on

Saturday. Don't you play golf with Harry. Yeah, he is blooming good.

was really shocked today, McFly in golf shocker. He is probably better

at golf than drumming. Anita and Robin doing the Charleston. Let's

look at them in training. She's wearing tights and a leotard, look

at her legs. Dancing to I Got Rhythm. She's great, Anita. What's

great about her? She's so professional and she really goes

for it. 100% she goes for it. That's what is great. She does that

in all her acting. She's a superb actress and she's a great dancer,

really good in this. What have you been loving about Anita? I actually

met Anita when she was rehearsing before they done the first dance.

When you were doing Blood Brothers? No, actually, thank you. For

Children in Need, I did a couple of songs in We Will Rock You and Brian

May came on stage and Anita came to watch. Amaze you go -- amazing life

you have. We were talk being the show, because I have a keen

interest in the show and what I love about Anita is that she just

wanted to learn how to dance. She loves dancing. And you can see

she's having a ball. She's so graceful and beautiful and gets

into the character of every dance. A great partnership with Robin.

said to them last week, I said to Brian May, wouldn't it be fantastic

if you... As do you! If you played whilst Anita danced, and he thought

it was a good idea. Christmas special, surely. You could sing!

What could we do? Let's not go there, Biggins! What a show!

concern is last week she forgot her step and it threw her a little bit,

and this is a quick dance, if that happens again she might lose a

couple of bars and it might threw her. Your wife's really influenced

you on this. You look like you are about to fall off. He won't bite

you. Audley and Natalie are doing the Viennese waltz this week. Here

Vernon, he is very glad to be back in hold. He's been in the bottom

two. Do you think he can stay out of the bottom two this week? What

Audley has going for him is his personality. He is enjoying the

show, enjoying not being in the boxing ring. All right, he might

not be light of foot but you can tell he is having a good time

because he is always smiling. That's what I like about Audley, he

might not be the best dancer but he is enjoying himself, he should get

an extra half a point for that. Craig! Little note to Craig. What

do you think of the music, Avril Lavine? That's a beautiful --

balance hrod -- balance lad. -- ballad. The band and the vocalists,

it will be a beautiful version they will do. Nothing to take away from

Avril, of course. Wasn't it great with Black Swan. We are going to

talk about them, that's the power you have. They're doing the jive. I

said yesterday the Charleston, well done everybody who spotted I was

wrong. They're wearing watching outfits. Watching shoes. She is in

her spats. Doing pin-striped suits. What do you reckon, how do you

think they're going to get on with the jive? It looks great from her.

If this is training, then I think we are in for a treat on Saturday

night. We really are. Very good, I think. I am going to say this

publicly, the performance on Saturday was undermarked. The way

they combined the ballet and the dance, the American smooth, it was

fantastic. I know they were saying you weren't in hold enough or

whatever the rules were, but like Karen said at the beginning of the

week, there's a lot of show dances at the moment and I thought Holly's

dance on Saturday was amazing. agree. I sat next to her boyfriend,

you know, he is very rich. It's not about the size of a man's

wallet, Biggins. Sorry, darling, what's next? Can you come every

week, big Biggins? Russell and Flavia doing the paso this week. Do

you know Russell? I do know Russell and I love him to death. He is

outrageous. The winks I got on Saturday in the audience, every

time he looked at me he went... It was fabulous. What is great is, as

you were saying, is the enthusiasm. He goes for it in a very big way.

Thank you so much. Quick prediction from you, who is going to lift the

trophy? Oh, my goodness, I think Jason is incredible. Jason as well.

If she worked harder, Chelsee. couple of minutes I will be in the

studio with Robbie and Ola, but first tomorrow marks the halfway

point of the competition and for our celebrities it's been an

intensive period of training but it's brought them all closer

together. My relationship with Robin is

delightful. We settled into a really nice teacher-pupil

relationship where we can laugh a lot but we can also get the work

done. Natalie's been a good person to work with. She's been very good

at getting me feeling comfortable, where I can go out and perform.

100% credit to her for getting me this far. We get on so well. I

absolutely adore him. When this experience is over I am going to

miss Pasha so much. He brings the fun out in me. Our friendship has

grown from being teacher and student, to now being quite good

mates. We have a little little growl at each other if we need to,

but we get the job done. relationship with Flavia is a very

special relationship. We are there for each other. To make Flavia

proud is an inate thing, like I would want to make family and

friends proud. James can be fiery and outspoken, whereas I am

completely the opposite. I think we balance each other well. It makes

it the perfect relationship. I have a lot of respect for Kristina. You

can't help but have a bond. She's taught me to have faith in myself.

I describe my relationship with Ola as brother-sister. I want to make

Ola every week and to be fair I have not let her down as yet. She's

the boss, whatever she says I do. We started a bit sort of rocky,

there's more of an understanding now. I like to watch him tkapbz. --

dance. His wizardry with ballroom dancing is amazing.

relationship has developed in a huge way. It took a few days for me

to feel like I could be myself in front of her which is a good thing.

I am doing the best I could be doing and that's mainly down to

Aliona's teaching. Hello. I am down in the BBC1 studio.

Oh, look at that! It's a friend of mine. Don't know who is using that

tomorrow F you think about the dances, you could probably work it

out. James, where is your comedy partner? I don't know, but I am

just looking at the glitterball. Bless him, simple things. Simple

minds. Let's talk to Robbie and Ola. How are you? Yes, wake up, you lot!

APPLAUSE. Saturday seems you like a long time ago now but let's take

ourselves back. How nervous were you about going out on the floor on

your own with the cape? Very nervous, the spin in the middle and

the jump on the table. A lot could have gone wrong. Thankfully got

them right. It was amazing. Sitting here now, that's a long way. We

measured it, four foot one you leapt and did you practise it for

days? I practised it once the day before and got it wrong, landed

object on the -- landed on the edge. That could have been the end of

Craig Revel Horwood. You got a decent score but you were fourth

from the bottom, how worried were you on Sunday? Very worried. Yes,

anything can happen always on Sunday but very worried because we

had been left quite a long time. must be quite horrid standing there.

Well, I know how horrid it is standing waiting. It's horrible.

It's part of your family now, it's your life. Strictly is your life

and I don't want to go. You wanted macho from your boy on Saturday,

were you satisfied? Considering the hair and teeth he was macho on

Saturday, I was pleased. Yes, great. You have been keeping up the

came to watch, it's the waltz and she burst out crying. People see an

elegant, beautiful side to us both. To me! That's amazing your waive

came to see it -- your wife came to see it and cried. I heard you were

struggling with the romance. never spoke to a bird for 16 years.

I have been married. Or a girl. had to teach him how to do it.

envisage how much this show would take over your life? It takes over
