Today's nine contestants are preparing for the show. Only one

will win the prize money of up to £10,000.

The others will leave with nothing,

as they are voted the weakest link.

Any of the nine people in the studio here today could win up to £10,000.

They are strangers. If they want to win, they must work as a team.

But eight of them will leave with nothing,

as, round by round, we lose the player voted the weakest link.

In each round, the aim is to get enough questions correct

to reach your £1,000 target within the time limit.

The fastest way is to create a chain of nine correct answers. A wrong question

breaks the chain and you lose the cash.

If you say "bank", before the question is asked,

the money is safe,

however, you start a new chain from scratch.

At the end of the round, only banked money can be taken forward.

You get three minutes in Round One.
