Of the nine people preparing for today's show

only one will take home the prize money of up to £10,000

The others will leave with nothing after they are voted the weakest link.

Welcome to The Weakest Link.

Any of the nine people in the studio here today could win up to £10,000.

They don't know each other but to win the prize money, they have to work as a team.

But eight of them will leave with nothing

as round by round we lose the player voted the weakest link.

Let's meet the team.

I'm Sally. I'm 42. I'm a secretary from Boston in Lincolnshire.

I'm Marc. I'm 27, a customer service advisor from Stevenage in Hertfordshire.

I'm Elizabeth. I'm 52. A musician from London.

I'm Alan. I'm 59. I'm a part-time lecturer from Cumbernauld.

I'm Judy. I'm 66. I'm a retired teacher from Liverpool.

In each round the aim is to answer

enough questions correctly to reach £1000 within the time limit.

The best way is with a chain of correct answers.

If you get a question wrong, you break the chain and lose the money in that chain.

If you say "bank" before the question, the money is safe

However, you start a new chain from scratch.

At the end of the round only banked money can be taken forward.
