Of the nine people preparing for today's show, only one will take home up to £10,000.

The others will leave with nothing, as their team-mates vote them the weakest link.

Welcome to The Weakest Link.

Any of the nine people in the studio here today could win up to £10,000.

They don't know each other, but if they want the money, they'll have to work as a team.

But eight of them will leave with nothing,

as each round, we lose the player voted the weakest link.

I'm Carmen, I'm 20, currently unemployed, and I'm from Blyth in Northumberland.

My name is Dan. I'm 53, and a medical insurance consultant from London.

I'm Diane. I'm 25, and a cardiac technician from Acton in London.

I'm Eunan, I'm 40 and a director of mental health. I'm originally from Strabane in County Tyrone.

I'm Sue, aged 54. I'm a teacher from Nottingham.

Now the rules. In each round, the aim is

to answer enough questions correctly to reach £1000

within the time limit.

The fastest way is to make a chain of nine right answers.

Get one wrong, and you break the chain and lose the money.

But, if you say, "Bank" before the question, the money is safe.

However, you start a new chain

from scratch.

At the end of the round, only money that has been banked can be taken forward.
