Here are the contestants preparing for today's show.

One will take home prize money of up to £10,000.

The rest will leave with nothing,

as one by one they're voted off as the weakest link.

Welcome to The Weakest Link.

Any of the nine people in the studio here today could win up to £10,000.

They don't know each other. However, if they want the prize money, they'll have to work as a team.

But eight of them will leave with nothing,

as round by round, we lose the player voted the weakest link. Let's meet the team.

the aim is to answer enough questions correctly to reach £1,000 within the time limit.

The fastest way is a chain of nine correct answers. Get one wrong,

and you lose the money in that chain. But if you say 'Bank',

before the question is asked, the money is safe. However, you start a new chain from scratch.

Only money that has been banked can be carried forward.
