What is Welshness?

To me, if I go for a walk, and I go up the mountains.

I've walked all over every mountain, pretty well, in Wales,

and it's there that I get a sense of Welshness.

Being Welsh is being me.

It's part of my identity and it gives me a sense of belonging.

Belonging to a place, belonging to people and belonging in history.

Being Welsh means being passionate.

A belief that life is as beautiful

as the coastal scenes that we have here in Wales.

One of the things which defines Welshness

is, of course, its communities, both rural and industrial.

And we have our own language to treasure.

I'm a professional artist.

Therefore, my Welshness means my work, my family and my life.

Being Welsh makes me proud.

It makes me proud of my country, proud of the beauty of the country.

It makes me proud of our culture.

I'm proud that I'm Welsh.

Welshness to me is the close-heartedness of people.

Rugby, the Valleys, the coal mines, and just Welsh people in general.

For me, Welshness is a common culture,

a common community of communities

and we all have shared values, which is common to us all.

To me, it's second nature being Plaid Cymru.

If you're Welsh, you should be voting Plaid Cymru,

because Plaid Cymru is the only party

that thinks of Wales first and foremost.

The new leader of Plaid Cymru is Leanne Wood.

We are your party.

The people's party of Wales, for Wales. Join us.
