the ultimate dance extravaganza for full-time mum Kelly...

I'm trying to make a samba flash mob dance.

..while she's dreaming of a small, intimate affair.

It's not over the top. It's very country.

I go to the city and I find it really scary.

Can these terrible twins...

The first thing you want to do is think big...

He's let us both down, to be honest.

Can David prove he's got the moves to pull off a wedding

fit for his bride?

Aw... She's crying again.

27-year-old Kelly and 31-year-old David first found love online.

We met on a dating website.

Arranged to go tenpin bowling for our first date -

which was a bit of a disaster.

David turned up looking like a total tramp.

He was wearing gross flappy shoes that were talking,

dirty trousers, and a cardigan.

-Why men wear cardigans...

-My mum bought it.

David's dress sense might not have been striking...

but SOMETHING bowled Kelly over.

-Personality shone beyond clothes.

-Definitely.

-It was a disaster, but it was a great disaster.

-Exactly.

He was cheeky, and happy.

And he was just... You know, it was really fun.

I felt something from the moment I saw her.

It all felt right, you know,

and I knew there was going to be something good come of it.

Today, David and Kelly live in domestic bliss in Somerset,

along with eight-year-old Anna,

six-year-old Louis,

four-year-old Honor and newest arrival, baby Sonny.

-Our life together is crazy!

-Manic, yeah.

Kelly and David have children from previous relationships.

But neither have been married before.

So getting hitched will make them one big family.

Four's a handful, but it's a good handful.

With four children, life just isn't quiet.

There's no such thing as rest. There's always something going.

-I'm the boss.

-Yeah, Kelly's the boss.

Kelly rules the roost.

But she doesn't just have four kids to look after.

There's a fifth big kid in this house - and she's marrying him.

I'm not really so much a parent, I'm like a big kid at times now,

I like to kind of act like them, I like to muck about.

So it's good, really because Kelly is the stable one,

Kelly keeps them on the straight and narrow. Like she does myself.

David is like my fifth child because he acts like a kid.

I DO do a lot for him.

I love the fact that she is caring, a sensitive person.

It helps that I stay quite positive

because it keeps her going at the end of the day.

And I think without that we wouldn't be the couple we are today, really.

Life for this couple hasn't been without hardship.

At 16, Kelly was diagnosed with bone cancer in her right leg.

I think I've had like, 26 operations in total now.

I had to have the knee joint and the femur replaced.

They weren't sure at the time obviously

whether they were going to be able to save the leg.

Fortunately for me, I survived. So I'm very, very lucky to be here.

Very lucky.

But any decisions or any choices

that I wanted to make with my life were taken away.

I did want to be a dancer for many years.

After 16 I guess everything just went out the window.

Kelly's childhood dream of being a dancer

was shattered when she found a tumour in her leg.

She was one of the first people in Britain to have a successful

bone transplant, and against the odds she kept her leg.

But there is a risk the cancer will return.

Just constantly worrying about, is it going to come back?

It's looking OK. We need to keep a close eye on you, though.

'I've had a tumour removed in the last three years,

'which was cancerous.'

I worry, you know, if anything DOES happen, you know,

I've got four children -

that my children are going to be

looked after well.

I'm extremely proud of Kelly because every day is a struggle,

is a fight to get through the pain.

It could come back.

I've never been with Kelly

when she's had an operation or the cancer's come back,

but she trusts me to look after her, her kids, and

if she needs me, I'M there.

David wasn't with Kelly when she began her battle with cancer.

But today, he does everything he can to support her.

David helps me in my everyday life - he helps me put my socks on,

he does up my shoelaces.

He carries me upstairs to bed obviously if I'm tired

and my legs are, you know, really bad.

He's loving, thoughtful,

and always thinking about others before himself.

He's the only person that I can rely on.

Apart from my family,

I know that if anything happened to me,

he will be there

no matter what.

-Marriage is a big thing...

-It's a lifelong commitment, yeah.

..a lifelong commitment in my eyes, and it's something I only do once.

And I only do it with the person that I feel it should be with and...

lucky for Kelly it's her.

Eh?

Now, David's planning to pull out all the stops

and show Kelly just how much she means to him.

I want to do the best for Kelly, this day is about her.

And that's why I've chose to go down the routes of doing what I'm doing.

All these elements I'm doing are things that she enjoys,

you know, and I just want to make it a day that she'll never forget.

Cos she's had enough hardship in life.

Kelly has dreamt about her wedding day since she was a little girl,

and knows exactly what she wants.

More importantly, she knows what she DOESN'T.

I don't want a big show. The thought of walking down the aisle scares me.

I don't like the idea of everybody looking at me.

I was pretty much centre of attention

but for all the wrong reasons.

Everybody knows me as the girl that's got cancer or the girl

that was poorly or "That's Kelly who's got the bad leg" -

I'd just like to be just Kelly... Just have something normal.

So Kelly wants a small, private ceremony,

where she can forget about her problems and feel comfortable.

Sounds easy. Surely David can't mess THAT up?

I'm going to make this wedding spectacular and different,

I'm going to try and make it a big show of...affection, love, dance,

all mashed into one, to try and... make it that day that

isn't really the normal wedding day but a day that everyone there,

and obviously Kelly, will never forget.

Well, I sort of know exactly what Kelly wants. Kelly loves to dance.

My idea is a big flash mob dance wedding theme -

Latin American dancing, and loud music going on as she walks in...

I want to make her quite a big entrance, you know,

glitzy and glamorous. I want to make it big.

I will do everything for Kelly to make HER happy.

Kelly will be proud at what I've put together,

and it's something that she will always remember in a...good way.

David wants a great big flash mob wedding he THINKS Kelly deserves.

But is it right for HER?

It would just be nice to just be normal,

and have a normal day - which obviously my life hasn't been.

It's just been one roller-coaster,

and I just think something nice and simple would just be...lovely.

But it looks like "simple" simply isn't happening.

I'm only ever going to get married once,

and it's the only time that I can be the princess for the day.

So if he gets that wrong, then I'm going to be really upset.

It's time for Kelly and David to say goodbye.

It will be the longest he's ever spent away from Kelly,

because the whole process will be worth it.

The stress of what I'm doing,

the fact that I'm not going to see the kids or Kelly, you know,

it's all going be worth it come the end of it. At least I hope it is when I...

produce something special. In a good way, hopefully.

For the next three weeks,

David will be staying with his best man, Owen, who's a lot like him.

Well, they're identical twins, so he's exactly like him.

Apart from half an ear.

Basically, you know,

obviously she's entrusted you of all people

to create the day of her dreams. We shall see.

How do you feel about him leaving?

The fact that we haven't ever spent more than three days,

it's going to be a test for him, obviously, planning the wedding,

but, obviously, a test for our relationship as well.

-because he thinks I deserve the best day that...

I've realised now I'm not going to see him for three weeks.

It's... I think it's going to be really hard.

Day one of wedding planning.

Time to get his best men on board

with the massive flash mob wedding plan.

So what the plan is, silly as it sounds,

it's...it's, basically, revolving around dance.

A dance wedding theme. It could be quite big and grand.

I want to try and get a grand entrance for when she walks in,

so maybe a big band and some dancing going on

as she walks down the aisle, involve a flash mob dancing somewhere.

Well, yeah, I mean, there's not many weddings have that sort of theme,

but if that's what you want to go for then, yeah, fair enough.

-But that sounds like it's going to be quite elaborate.

-It's going to be a bit of a struggle.

Knowing David, nothing seems to really ever work how it should.

David's organisational skills are pretty poor.

He couldn't organise a sock drawer, let alone, you know, a wedding.

So what's your first plan?

Well, I think the first plan is obviously to look at venues,

and try and sort out a place that can do what I want.

Twin brother, Owen, might not be totally down with the big dance idea

but hasn't put David off.

First up, to ensure that key element of surprise,

he needs to find a public space big and busy enough

to hide all the dancers and guests.

So where better to start than the city centre of Exeter?

Over there, that's the perfect place to have it. There's a big old space there.

There will be a lot of people here shopping as it's a Saturday,

so I'm looking at spaces that are going to be able to house it,

cos it's not just going to be our guests, there'll be shoppers,

so there'll be people fascinated by what's going on.

So it's going add to that huge element of...the grand scheme.

So, like I say, up there.

While David adds hundreds of random passers-by to the guest list,

45 miles away Kelly has come to see the type of exclusive venue

she wants for her family-focus day.

She's at Haselbury Mill in rural Somerset,

along with mum, Sue, sister, Kylie, and bridesmaids, Tommi and Chantelle.

-How beautiful is this?

-You imagine that all decked out with some nice pretty lights.

-With fairy lights. Lots of fairy lights.

-Yeah, lots of fairy light.

-With flowers.

-Come on, let's go.

-I love it.

I love the sound of the water as well,

which is really tranquil and just like nature.

It's just... Oh!

We're country girls,

it's just in-built, isn't it?

You know, like I go to the city and I find it really scary.

-I do find it really scary.

It is scary,

it's full of people and loud noises,

just like her wedding will be.

And how I see it, is we're going to be using this space.

And David's found the perfect spot for his city-centre flash mob.

Kelly can be led to here, maybe cos she's the centre of attention there could be a big chair.

The first thing you want to do is think big. What you want rather than a big chair

is maybe if the flash mob could come into her, you know, when you see that they pick people up.

Yeah, they can come in from behind her. There'll be so much dancing going on,

she ain't going to see the people coming in from behind.

If I can pull this off, it will show Kelly how much I want to spend rest of my life with her.

And it would just be something special knowing I'd done this for her.

Doing it big would just really prove how much I love her.

As David gets excited in the hustle and bustle of Exeter,

the girls step into a 300-year-old medieval barn,

-perfect for the private reception Kelly wants.

-Look at all the lights! It's got fairy light.

-Oh, wow!

Oh, this is beautiful!

It's not over the top, it's very...it's very country.

It's very intimate, I think, and just...just, yeah, really romantic.

-We can dream.

-I doubt he's got anything like this.

-So there's just no point us stressing about it.

-It's not going to be.

But first, he needs to get permission from the biggest shopping centre in the city

for a spontaneous flash-mob wedding and with a huge samba band and dancers

on the busiest shopping day of the week.

I don't think they've ever put a wedding on in here, but all we can do is ask.

If David can't sell his big idea, it'll be back to the drawing board.

How I've sort of envisaged what's going on,

I'm trying to make a samba-flash-mob dance.

So my partner would be led into the square there,

all my guests and that would be hidden behind shops or inside shops,

and then I'll have dancers, hopefully, booked to start.

They'll reveal themselves and start dancing,

and then all the friends and family will come out the shops, you know, and things like that,

-and it'll all lead to one big sort of procession.

-How many people

do you envisage being involved with the samba band?

20-40, I think.

-The thing is, we've got residents who live around there.

-The band itself might only be

-a matter of five or six people, you know, hopefully.

And then, obviously, it's just the dancers and the procession that follows.

You see, I don't know what we can and can't do, but that's the idea I had.

Or can you just tell me what space I can use?

As the whole wedding hangs in the balance,

back in Somerset Kelly's fears are growing.

I would feel really awkward having to say what I need to say to David

-in front of all my family and friends.

-That's the whole point.

-I want to see you get married.

-I don't want a whole big show.

-It isn't a show, it's a wedding.

I need to know how much he loves you and you love him. That's why people watch you getting married, Kel.

I don't want the big fuss, I don't want everybody looking at me.

I'm worried that we'll get there, everybody will be looking,

-and I'm not going be able to get anything out.

I find it hard telling him how much I love him every day,

let alone in front of 100 or whatever people.

But I want to see David tell me that he's going to look after you for the rest of his life.

-That's what I want to see.

Cos we've done this for 28 years, I want to see David do it.

is starting to take shape.

But all Kelly wants is a day that doesn't remind her of her condition.

It was...terrifying.

I still find it really upsetting, to be honest with you.

Is not so much everything I've been through,

it's everything that I'm going to go through for the rest my life.

I don't know if the cancer will come back. They don't know either,

which I think that's the thing that scares me the most,

-is they just don't know, do they?

Whatever happens in the future,

I know if I get poorly again, or if the leg has to come off, or anything like that,

I know that he'll be there.

-That's why I'm marrying him.

But mum, Sue, will still take some convincing.

I am...very, very protective of Kelly.

And I just need to know that he can step up to the mark,

because I'm not sure David quite understands yet what it's all about.

I just need to know he will look after her.

If David can pull this wedding off, to make it all about Kelly and her day,

then that will prove to myself and the rest of the family

that he's actually good enough for her.

No pressure, then.

It's week two. And with the ceremony and reception venues booked,

David's on the hunt for professional dancers to turn his flash-mob wedding into a dance spectacular.

But the boys are struggling to find a flash mob quite flash enough.

I'm looking to put on a sort of dance performance

at a wedding I'm about to have on 30th May.

With no luck locally, there's only one thing for it,

fork out for a trip to London in search of something really special

to give his wedding extra va-va-voom.

Two little country boys have come all the way to London to see a hell of a show

and, hopefully, persuaded a few people after to do our flash mob.

They want big, bold, and beauty would be a bonus too.

It's a hard job, lads, but someone's got to do it.

but he's paid top dollar to do it.

Now there's a big hole in the budget and he needs to save money.

First up, the hen do.

I don't know what to wear because I don't know what we're doing.

Dan lives up here and around the corner.

Dan lives up on the hill.

There's a bakery. If it says a bakery, it's fine.

Right, I've just get a text message from David.

-Why have I got to do it?!

"..as this is your only input for the day."

Dan is a friend of Kelly's who makes jewellery,

so David's saving cash on the hen do and the wedding rings

with a genius plan to combine the two.

-I'm not a silversmith.

-I do think it's a bit odd.

I think he should be doing it, you know, that's the whole point.

He's meant to organise the wedding, he should organise the rings.

To get over their hen do shock, it's a quick pit stop at a pasty shop.

Can I have...a small pasty.

And...three of those.

I am disappointed, because I thought that he knows

I've never been to a spa and stuff like that, so I thought he would have possibly sent us to a spa.

We're just here.

While Kelly's getting tooled up on her labour intensive hen do,

David's out with the boys getting hammered.

Glad to have a night off without thinking about planning and making it right for Kelly.

But this is my night, so I can go out and just be myself and, hopefully, have a good time.

Back at the hen, it's not all work,

David's sent them out in Taunton.

I've had my friends come from here there and everywhere just to see me, which is lovely.

So a really big surprise.

I'm going to get really, really drunk tonight.

With David's hen do going down as well as the shots,

Kelly can finally forget all about the stresses of the wedding.

The girls will be feeling this tomorrow,

but not as much as the boys.

Post-stag do, David is with twin brother, Owen, and younger brother, Ben.

The groom has a very sore head...

and I must've missed the handle or something

They spent the day with Dad after the stag do and they've let slip about his big slip.

We're not going to have any photo that hasn't got a big black eye in it.

I'll just use Owen for the photos, they look alike.

So he'll just have to turn so I can't see his ear.

Yep, David's not the only one

who had an embarrassing accident at the stag.

Still, at least the twins will match at the wedding.

Six o'clock, get home from A&E. It was great...great fun.

We had a little bit of a situation where we were walking home

and my friend just decided to swing a little bit of wood messing around,

and he...let's just say he caught me with it,

hence the reason why I've got big glasses on to cover me eyes

and a big sterile strip on me head covering 20 stitches.

No point dwelling over it, we've still got a wedding to organise

and a few more things to sort out.

It's double trouble, and they've got Kelly worried

about just how seriously David is taking the wedding.

Who does that a week before their wedding?

Owen having a smashed up face, I mean,

my family are just going to think their family is a bunch of thugs.

Can you imagine my dad's face when he sees David?

He's going to be disgusted.

He's let us both down, to be honest.

Blissfully unaware of the trouble they've caused and with just four days until the wedding,

the boys have put their bruised heads together to look for a wedding dress.

I feel quite confident that I'll get this bit right,

it's just finding something within the budget.

That's my biggest concern, finding something within the budget I've got for this.

I've got a set maximum limit to try and find a dress, a veil and some shoes.

But I like the idea of...of it all being fitted

and making her look, well...

She might want to be the princess, though.

She does want to be a princess, but I'm the one choosing it.

Over in Ilminster, Kelly has come to find her ideal wedding dress

with her mum, sister and bridesmaids.

-The dress is the most important thing about the whole wedding.

As long as the dress is great, then I will be fine with everything else.

What I'd like for my wedding day, my dress, obviously, a big princess style

with maybe a tiara, a veil, really sparkly.

-Just like a princess. No.

I don't really like these kind of beads.

I like sparkly beads, but I don't really like, like, dull beads.

It's time to let Kelly know the date of their wedding.

I've been thinking about Kelly's invitation for the big day itself,

and I've come up with the idea - because she wants to be a princess -

of maybe doing, like, delivering her wedding shoe...

outside the front door.

As, like, a Cinderella-type story.

And I thought about writing a poem last night.

I started doing this around about eight o'clock

and in the end I gave up around about one, two in the morning.

To my abilities, it's the best I could possibly do.

I put a bit of time and effort into it and I'm hopeful she appreciates it.

It's the day before the wedding

and David has a big job transforming

the local hall into his Latin American disco.

Today I'm at the hall getting all the decorations, the tables...

everything sorted out, so that tomorrow I'm all freed up

just to concentrate on the wedding day itself.

Yeah, it all adds to the theme I'm going for.

We've got the hall decorators in there.

I've got family coming over just to get the tables out.

Put the tables on the outside roughly where we can put them.

If that's the easiest place for a fixing point.

I'm having a glitter ball which will really help the visual effect on the dance floor.

It's perfect. Our day, I want it to be, like,

everyone to be able to get up, have a dance, have a laugh,

and with having that, it just gives it that little touch you need, really.

I think it's going to look amazing when it's done.

And it doesn't just need to look amazing,

it needs to sound amazing, too.

I've actually arranged with a local samba band.

They're only £300 which is, like, really cheap.

Now David just needs to get his fiancee to the fiesta.

But having blown most of the budget,

it might just have to be IN a Fiesta!

I have £167-and-something-pence

and now I've trying to sort out travel.

So, I've got a mate who runs a hire-car place here

so I've come to see him today to hopefully see if he can

cut me a good deal on getting a vehicle to take Kelly to the ceremony.

I've done most of the big things, but the final week

when you want to get the final little niggly things done,

and you don't have the money for it, it's quite stressful.

She likes Beetles, so, end of the day,

it's a lot better than any car I could give her.

I've not really seen Kelly like that since her cancer,
