SOMETHING CRUNCHES

Hold on. I can hear some crunching.

Can you?

-Where's it coming from?

-It's getting louder and louder.

Stuffy, it was you making the noise

with your crunchy corn flakes.

Get cosy and comfy. Sit down with your toy.

Here comes a tale for us all to enjoy.

It was early one morning at breakfast time,

and Stuffy was having some daydream time.

The corn flakes were crispy and ready to eat,

but where was the best place to eat such a treat?

"Oh, where, oh, where is the perfect place to eat a bowl of corn flakes?

"Is it on a roundabout or would the corn flakes fly about?

"I'm going to go and try and find out."

So off Stuffy went to experiment. And in the playground,

Stuffy found that when the roundabout spun around,

all the twirly whirly whizzing made some of the flakes go missing.

"I think it's best to eat your fill while the roundabout is still.

"I've noticed that when it starts to spin,

"it's hard to keep your corn flakes in,"

mused Stuffy.

"Oh, where, oh, where is the perfect place to eat a bowl of corn flakes?"

thought Stuffy.

"Is it on the bus, perhaps, sitting comfy at the back?

"With your corn flakes at your side. That's something I've never tried."

But when the bus hit bumps and holes,

the corn flakes flew out of the bowl.

Up they went into the air.

Crunchy corn flakes everywhere.

"Oh, where,

"oh, where is the perfect place to eat a bowl of corn flakes?"

thought Stuffy.

"Perhaps there is a lonely hill where I can sit and eat my fill."

Stuffy climbed up to the top. Stuffy found the perfect spot.

But oh, how the wind did blow that day!

And some of the corn flakes blew away.

"I think the only perfect place, to eat a bowl of corn flakes,

"is in the kitchen where it's safe," thought Stuffy.

So home went Stuffy, zoom, zoom, zoom,

with the corn flakes and the spoon.

Back to the kitchen. It didn't take long.

But where had all the corn flakes gone?

"Oh, I've lost all the corn flakes. What shall I do?

"And the corn flake box is empty too,"

said Stuffy sadly.

Then Teddington bear came through the door,

with a box of corn flakes in his paw.

"Oh, hello, Stuffy. How are you?

"I've brought us breakfast. Will corn flakes do?"

Stuffy was so happy.

He let out a cheer.

"Corn flakes are perfect. I'll eat them just here."

You see, I was making tarts for the Queen of Hearts.

I ran out of tarts and they blew away and were eaten by pigeons.

I've got none left. The cases are empty.

-Oh, dear. How can I help you?

-Have you anything for making cakes?

What do you need?

Um...flour!

No flour.

Uh...eggs!

No eggs.

Sugar?

No sugar.

Oops.

All I've got is melted chocolate.

Yes. Yes.

And some corn flakes.

That's perfect. We can make chocolate corn flake cakes.

All you have to do is pour the corn flakes into the melted chocolate

-and mix, mix, mix. Not too fast.

-Like this?

Give it a good stir. Be careful not to get the corn flakes everywhere,

or we'll be in trouble.

Oh! Hold on to the bowl.

That's lovely.

-What happens next?

-All I have to do is scoop out the mixture,

put it in the cake cases and it will set into chocolate corn flake cakes.

-Wow.

-What if she doesn't like it?
