Here comes a tale for us all to enjoy.

One day, Toddler Tom said to his friend, Teddington,

"I've heard that there's a man who's green.

"The greenest green you've ever seen!

"I think he lives just down the road. Shall we go and say hello?"

"I do not know a man who's green. I do not know the man you mean.

"But I will gladly come along," said Teddington to Toddler Tom.

And so, they set off down the road,

and as they went, they tippy-toed.

And while they tippy-toed along, they sang a little green man song.

They saw buses and cars, and bikes and vans

but they did not see a green man!

Then, suddenly, they saw a chap, who wore a very green hat.

"Look! The green man's over there!"

cried a very excited Teddington Bear.

But Toddler Tom just shook his head.

"That's not the green man I mean," he said.

The man I mean wears much more green!

And so, they set off down the street,

and as they went they stomped their feet.

And while they stomp, stomp, stomped along,

they sang a little green man song.

They saw trees and hedges, which were all very green,

but a MAN of green could not be seen.

Then, suddenly, a passer-by all dressed in green

caught Teddington's eye.

"Look! The green man's over there!"

cried a very excited Teddington Bear.

"It may be green, but it isn't a man.

"It's a bouncing baby in a pram!" giggled Toddler Tom.

And so, they set off down the road,

and as they went, they tippy-toed.

And while they tippy-toed along, they sang a little green man song.

They saw people in purple and tangerine

but they didn't see a man who was absolutely green.

"If there WAS a green man, I think he's gone.

"Let's go home," said Toddler Tom.

"Why don't we just see if he's on the other side of the street?"

said Teddington.

They went to the crossing where it was safe.

The man was red so they had to wait.

Toddler Tom was very keen

but they couldn't cross the road till the man was...

..green!

And after that, they crossed the street

a lot of times just so they'd meet

the very helpful man in green,

the greenest man they'd ever seen!

And that's when they knew it was safe to cross, isn't it, Tom? Yes.
