Baaba Maal & Mbongwana Star Glastonbury

Hello and welcome back to the second day of coverage from Glastonbury

2016. World's biggest music festival. 8-iron, we have music from

The Last Shadow Puppets. We have got Squeeze. And new order as well. And

we have a tribute to David Bowie with an orchestral version of the

Phillip Glass symphony. And we also have Mbongwana Star, but first,

someone who has been on the West Holts stage many times but today, it

was his debut on the Pyramid Stage. The Senegalese superstar from

earlier on, Baaba Maal! Thank you! This is going to be a

journey from Senegal to Mali and Julia.

Amazing voice, he came from humble beginnings. His dad worked in the

fields and called the faithful to prayer with the power of his voice.

And what about the man on the lead guitar in the pink hat? Very much a

celebratory atmosphere on the Pyramid Stage earlier in

Glastonbury. That was Baaba Maal. We will take things back to the West

Holts stage. To see a band who are breaking conventions when it comes

to traditional Congolese music. Making their Glastonbury debut, this
