This programme contains some strong language and scenes

:00:00.:00:00.

I liked Chasing Pavements. Home town glory. Take it all. Million years

:00:00.:00:14.

ago. Set fire to the rain. Chasing pavements. When she was really young

:00:15.:00:19.

and innocent. I wish nothing but the best for you... That one before she

:00:20.:00:29.

did before the last one. Hello... The Lionel Richie version, no. Oh,

:00:30.:00:33.

my God, my songs are so sad, aren't they? Everyone's going to be crying

:00:34.:00:39.

to all of it. You know she's doing an album of only fools and horses

:00:40.:00:41.

quotes called Adele boy. Hello. Welcome back to Glastonbury

:00:42.:01:04.

2016, Saturday night and here we are at the Park Stage. The action is in

:01:05.:01:09.

full swing. Floating Points winding up here. It's been a fantastic

:01:10.:01:21.

afternoon of fun, mud, music, Tame Impala have been amazing, some of

:01:22.:01:24.

:01:34.:01:41.

there's special artists playing. St Paul and the Broken Bones, Alabama

:01:42.:01:45.

playing soon and Saturday Night Magic. Ready for that, dynamo is

:01:46.:01:49.

coming to pay us a visit. He was on in the Kidz Field earlier. My kids

:01:50.:01:55.

were enraptured. The man himself almost couldn't get out because so

:01:56.:01:58.

many kids wanted selfies. He was there for hours. If they've all gone

:01:59.:02:02.

to bed, he'll be up to perform some magic for us. Very exciting. So in

:02:03.:02:07.

case you just joined us, let's catch up on the action at Glastonbury 2016

:02:08.:02:10.

so far. This is what's been going on.

:04:57.:05:03.

pause it, play it, pause it # Oh, we go where nobody

:05:04.:05:09.

knows, we've guns hidden # We're never gonna quit it, no,

:05:10.:05:12.

we're never gonna quit it, no # Yeah, we're dressed

:05:13.:05:17.

in black from head to toe # We've got guns hidden

:05:18.:05:20.

under our petticoats # No, we're never gonna quit it, no,

:05:21.:05:23.

we're never gonna quit it, no # "Now, you're never gonna quit it,

:05:24.:05:27.

now you're never gonna quit it, # If you don't stop smoking it,

:05:28.:05:31.

that's what she said" # Hey, now we're building up speed

:05:32.:05:51.

as we're approaching the hill # Hey, now you say you're gonna quit

:05:52.:05:54.

it but you're never gonna quit it # Go get it, go get it,

:05:55.:06:02.

go get it, go get it, go # Oh, you said we go where nobody

:06:03.:06:05.

knows, we've guns hidden # No, we're never gonna quit it, no,

:06:06.:06:09.

we're never gonna quit it, no # Yeah, we're dressed

:06:10.:06:15.

in black from head to toe, # We've got guns hidden

:06:16.:06:17.

under our petticoats # We're never gonna quit it, no,

:06:18.:06:19.

we're never gonna quit it, no Oh, yeah Glastonbury, now we're

:06:20.:06:23.

getting started. Let's go. # We go where nobody knows, we've

:06:24.:06:52.

guns hidden under our petticoats # No, we're never gonna quit it, no,

:06:53.:06:56.

we're never gonna quit it, no # Yeah, we're dressed

:06:57.:07:01.

in black from head to toe, # We've guns hidden

:07:02.:07:04.

under our petticoats # We're never gonna quit it, no,

:07:05.:07:06.

we're never gonna quit it, no # Well, I know when you're around

:07:07.:07:12.

'cause I know the sound # Well, I know when you're around

:07:13.:07:56.

'cause I know the sound # I can't believe

:07:57.:08:03.

I forgot your name # She said "I've got a problem

:08:04.:08:18.

with your shoes and your tunes # I thought that you were

:08:19.:08:23.

straight, now I'm wondering # What does it matter if I lie

:08:24.:08:27.

to you? # I don't regret it but I'm

:08:28.:08:32.

glad that we're through # So don't you tell me that

:08:33.:08:35.

you 'just don't get it' # Well I know when you're around

:08:36.:08:38.

cause I know the sound # Well I know when you're around

:08:39.:08:43.

cause I know the sound # It's not about reciprocation

:08:44.:08:51.

it's just all about me # A sycophantic, prophetic,

:08:52.:08:59.

Socratic junkie wannabe # I can't see the difference

:09:00.:09:04.

in it either way # And we left things

:09:05.:09:18.

to protect my mental health # But you call me when you're bored

:09:19.:09:22.

and you're playing with yourself # What does it matter if I lie

:09:23.:09:27.

to you? # I don't regret it but I'm

:09:28.:09:35.

glad that we're through # So don't you tell me that

:09:36.:09:37.

you 'just don't get it' # Well I know when you're around

:09:38.:09:41.

cause I know the sound # Well I know when you're around

:09:42.:09:45.

cause I know the sound # Well I know when you're around

:09:46.:09:52.

cause I know the sound # Well I know when you're around

:09:53.:10:00.

cause I know the sound Now everybody, if you're young, if

:10:01.:10:20.

you're old, if you're covered in shit, if you're not, it doesn't

:10:21.:10:23.

matter. Everybody's going to start jumping up and down, moving side to

:10:24.:10:27.

side on the count of four. One... Two... One, two, fucking jump!

:10:28.:11:00.

# Well I know when you're around cause I know the sound

:11:01.:11:06.

# Well I know when you're around cause I know the sound

:11:07.:11:11.

# Well I know when you're around cause I know the sound

:11:12.:11:18.

# Well I know when you're around cause I know the sound

:11:19.:11:26.

# Take your shoes off in the back of my van

:11:27.:12:13.

# When it's just hanging off your back

:12:14.:12:27.

# And she said, "Use your hands and my spare time

:12:28.:12:31.

# We've got one thing in common, it's this tongue of mine"

:12:32.:12:34.

# There's only minutes before I drop you off

:12:35.:12:45.

# All we seem to do is talk about sex

:12:46.:12:48.

# I loved your friend when I saw his film

:12:49.:12:56.

# But I like that 'cause he still looks cool

:12:57.:13:01.

One more time, Glastonbury! Let's have it.

:13:02.:13:39.

One, two, three, four. # And I'm not trying

:13:40.:13:59.

to stop you love # If we're gonna do anything

:14:00.:14:13.

we might as well just fuck # You've got your

:14:14.:14:17.

tongue pierced anyway Glastonbury!

:14:18.:15:13.

CHEERING AND APPLAUSE. Thank you so much. An amazing gig earlier for

:15:14.:15:29.

Manchester's The 1975. I like a tall band. There's been a lot of talk

:15:30.:15:34.

about mud at Glastonbury this year but that's not really the point.

:15:35.:15:38.

This year Glastonbury is all about grime. The scene has been one of the

:15:39.:15:43.

UK's most vibrant for a decade, but in 2016 grime really is having its

:15:44.:15:47.

big moment. It is slap-bang in the middle of the mainstream. It is the

:15:48.:15:53.

music that everyone is talking about. On the Main Stage there's

:15:54.:15:58.

been such a focus here at Glastonbury. The whole of Friday's

:15:59.:16:03.

bill was given over to grime artists, so we went to check it out.

:16:04.:16:12.

I'm live in the flesh here at Glastonbury. Where you know me from,

:16:13.:16:23.

where you know me from? One of the reasons that grime has had this sick

:16:24.:16:28.

rise in the last year or two is there's a thirst and hunger for

:16:29.:16:34.

authenticity in music. Real experiences and energy that hasn't

:16:35.:16:43.

shined for some years. Everyone is looking for it, saying we don't

:16:44.:16:48.

really like what's going on, like. Where's the real one one? Grime is

:16:49.:16:55.

like that, like funk or hip-hop. For a long time grime and UK hip-hop

:16:56.:17:00.

lots its identity. I feel that over the last 18 months ownership has

:17:01.:17:04.

been the main thing for a lot of artists involved in the currency. Go

:17:05.:17:12.

over your head, up load it a bit, and you fellow... Grime is very

:17:13.:17:16.

important to me because it's the UK. It's ours. It's the scene and it is

:17:17.:17:24.

building and getting more powerful. I'm from Birmingham and I did feel a

:17:25.:17:29.

little bit uncomfortable rapping in my accent when I first started. But

:17:30.:17:34.

now I'm so proud that I can be myself on the track. Ten years ago

:17:35.:17:44.

you would never think cue get your foot in the door because you are not

:17:45.:17:49.

from London. But now the whole game's changed. Bugsy Malone is on

:17:50.:18:01.

stage right now. He's got a model where artists outside the M 25

:18:02.:18:05.

finally believe that this is the way of life. It is growing at the

:18:06.:18:09.

moment, fast. I come from quite a difficult background. It is just

:18:10.:18:13.

having a voice. Somebody like me could have easily been sat going

:18:14.:18:16.

through what I was going through with nobody to get it off my chest.

:18:17.:18:20.

This gives young people who might not have so much of a chance, an

:18:21.:18:29.

opportunity to talk. Where I grew up, if you didn't have a lyric you

:18:30.:18:35.

was a moron. Everyone had a bar when I was growing up. A really good

:18:36.:18:42.

lyric with resonates with someone has sonates with someone has to come

:18:43.:18:44.

from somewhere - maybe a past experience or something you want to

:18:45.:18:47.

do. It has to come from who you are, you know what I'm saying? I don't

:18:48.:18:53.

know why we like the postcode... It is called grime. It is truthful. It

:18:54.:18:57.

is raw to the core. It is not watered down for the radio or for T

:18:58.:19:01.

A lot of people like how fresh it sounds and how warm and British it

:19:02.:19:06.

really is. The game's changed a little bit. I always tell young

:19:07.:19:12.

artists, there are no boundaries. Look at myself. Look at all these

:19:13.:19:17.

other sick artists and go that you can be greater. You are a like a

:19:18.:19:24.

King, man. CHEERING Cheer. Just a little bit of

:19:25.:19:30.

the action that was happening here yesterday at Glastonbury. Amazing to

:19:31.:19:38.

see Stormzy. The energy is so infectious. A big moment for grime

:19:39.:19:42.

at Glastonbury. And there was a big focus on it, but we saw earlier

:19:43.:19:47.

today Lady Leisure played on the Park Stage. We took some of that

:19:48.:19:57.

performance on BBC Two. And amazing to see, and Adele shouted out

:19:58.:20:06.

Stormzy in one of her big gigs. Will he come out with Adele later on?

:20:07.:20:13.

We'll see. Now to a Glastonbury performer, Dine mow is here. How are

:20:14.:20:19.

you guys doing? How are you? I had a big one last night. I'm trying to

:20:20.:20:24.

get over it. I'm trying to hold it together for Adele. My kids saw you

:20:25.:20:29.

earlier and you were grabbed for so many selfies with children that you

:20:30.:20:33.

couldn't get out. What happened? I think I did at least a thousand

:20:34.:20:38.

selfies in the kids field today, and I will do more later. I'm a bit of a

:20:39.:20:45.

selfie King now. Move over Kim Kardashian. Dynamo is here. You've

:20:46.:20:52.

been on a huge arena tour. The most popular magician. What are you doing

:20:53.:20:58.

for us tonight? Right now I want to use your imagination. I've got some

:20:59.:21:03.

cards. Even that, that's really cool already. It's already a bit magical.

:21:04.:21:09.

Before I start, I will Give them a shuffle. I will even misthem face up

:21:10.:21:16.

so you can see all the faces, all different. They are face up. He

:21:17.:21:21.

faces, all different. They are face up. -- mix them face up. I will even

:21:22.:21:28.

give them a cut. Huw, cut the cards to a random card. Move them from the

:21:29.:21:31.

top to the bottom. Put them anywhere you lice. From the top to the

:21:32.:21:39.

bottom. Yep. Stop where you like. You've cut to the card that's on the

:21:40.:21:45.

top there. Without letting anyone else see it, not even yourself,

:21:46.:21:50.

slide that card into your back pocket. Shall I stand up? If you

:21:51.:21:59.

need to. That top card... Yeah, done. I will get rid of these ones.

:22:00.:22:08.

Right now you've got a random card in your back pocket. Not even you or

:22:09.:22:12.

anybody else here or watching at home knows what it is. Absolutely.

:22:13.:22:17.

I'm going to come back to you later, Huw. What I want you to do is

:22:18.:22:24.

imagine that there's a table between us, an invisible pack of cards, and

:22:25.:22:28.

I'm reaching over and I'm removing either the red or the black cards.

:22:29.:22:32.

If it was your choice, would you move the red or the black? The red.

:22:33.:22:37.

So I'm moving the red cards, I'm holding them and I'm separating them

:22:38.:22:42.

into hearts and diamonds. I'll drop either the hearts or the diamonds on

:22:43.:22:46.

to the table. What am I dropping back? The diamonds. I'm left with

:22:47.:22:53.

the hearts. I've separated them into picture Kurds and number cards.

:22:54.:22:56.

Picture cards will be like a King or a Queen. I'm going to toss into the

:22:57.:23:00.

air either the picture cards or the number cards. Numbers I'm tossing

:23:01.:23:04.

the number cards into the air and they are floating in front of us.

:23:05.:23:07.

We've got the high number cards and the low number cards. I'm going to

:23:08.:23:12.

scoop out either the high or the low. What am I scooping right now?

:23:13.:23:17.

You are scooping the low numbers. I've got the low numbers here. I've

:23:18.:23:24.

got 2, 3, 4 and 5 of hearts. I'm going to take two of them out of

:23:25.:23:34.

here. What did I just grab? The 2 and and the 5. You've ended one the

:23:35.:23:41.

5 of hearts, which we've crated in your imagination, right? Yes. At the

:23:42.:23:45.

beginning of this you took a card from the pack which you shuffled.

:23:46.:23:49.

You didn't even know what it was. Take a look. Do you want a close up?

:23:50.:23:58.

Here we go. It's the 5 of hearts. Ooh! Look at that! That's beautiful.

:23:59.:24:07.

And off he goes. Can I put this down, or have I got to hold on to

:24:08.:24:12.

this? That was amazing. Thank you so much. In dynamo core coming to say

:24:13.:24:18.

hello. We have some live music now. This is some of Lapsley's set.

:24:19.:24:41.

I came here when I was 17. This was my first gig ever. It's the same to

:24:42.:24:53.

be back. With this many people, it's just insane!

:24:54.:24:53.

CHEERING. Thank you. # Because you took something

:24:54.:25:15.

away from yourself # Come back to this route

:25:16.:27:36.

and take your heart to higher self # Because you took something

:27:37.:27:45.

away from yourself # Come back to this route

:27:46.:27:53.

and take your heart to higher self # Because you took something

:27:54.:28:00.

away from yourself # Come back to this route

:28:01.:28:09.

and take your heart to higher self CHEERING.

:28:10.:28:45.

# Thank you. Such a great voice. That was Lapsley playing on the John

:28:46.:28:50.

Peel Stage earlier. It is interesting to see people's journey

:28:51.:28:54.

developing and growing in pop later. She was on the BBC Introducing stage

:28:55.:29:01.

two or three years ago. We heard her play in Liverpool. The next act you

:29:02.:29:08.

are about to see tonight on BBC Two is from Nottingham. He's got an

:29:09.:29:12.

amazing voice. He has his beautiful band with him. This is Ady Suleiman.

:29:13.:29:27.

# Step inside and flow off into your own world

:29:28.:29:36.

# Where no-one else can be, and no one-else can see

:29:37.:29:39.

# None of your dreams shut down by reality

:29:40.:29:41.

# But that ain't gonna solve the fears that you hold

:29:42.:29:47.

# I hate to be the to burst your bubble.

:29:48.:29:51.

# But I thought that you should know, that even if you go

:29:52.:29:54.

# Shadows have the tendency to follow

:29:55.:29:56.

# Gotta stand up tall and try to take control

:29:57.:30:10.

# So pick your back up from off the wall

:30:11.:30:12.

# And try to make a change, cause yes you are brave

:30:13.:30:15.

# I want to educate that you don't need to run away

:30:16.:30:20.

# So don't you run away, cause you can escape

:30:21.:30:23.

# The ghosts'll haunt your soul when negativity stays

:30:24.:30:25.

# Unless you turn and face, and pick up the courage to say

:30:26.:30:29.

# Stop your runnin' from, and start runnin' to

:30:30.:30:59.

# A destination that is gonna help your life improve

:31:00.:31:02.

# You need to realise that runnin' all the time

:31:03.:31:05.

# Ain't gonna help you check out these things in life

:31:06.:31:07.

# You need to fight and stop a hidin'

:31:08.:31:10.

# Cause in time, sip or two, they'll be doubled

:31:11.:31:15.

# And I assume the runnin' will continue

:31:16.:31:21.

# I don't want to run no more. # No more, no more.

:31:22.:31:44.

# I don't want to run. # You're running away, my love.

:31:45.:31:56.

# You're running away. # Yeah you don't need to run, my

:31:57.:32:32.

love, no more. # I don't want to run.

:32:33.:32:38.

# I don't want to run away, my love. #

:32:39.:32:42.

APPLAUSE thank you for coming to play for us,

:32:43.:32:50.

to the band and to you, nice one. Thank you so much. Ady Suleiman live

:32:51.:32:53.

at Glastonbury tonight. Very impressive. And the box fresh feet,

:32:54.:32:58.

on all of you, excellent work. I don't know what I'm doing wrong, I'm

:32:59.:33:02.

covered in mud. You're pristine. That's impressive too. All right,

:33:03.:33:06.

it's time now to head over and find out what happened when our own Jo

:33:07.:33:11.

Whiley call up with one of this weekend's most talked about artists,

:33:12.:33:16.

it is tonight's headliner Adele. She might be the biggest artist in the

:33:17.:33:19.

world right now, but Glastonbury can still make you a little bit nervous,

:33:20.:33:23.

even if that is the case as Jo found out.

:33:24.:33:28.

I don't think there are many people head lining on the Pyramid Stage to

:33:29.:33:32.

take the time out to have a chat pre-gig, this is quite something

:33:33.:33:37.

that Adele has decided to do this. You're either mad or very brave? I'm

:33:38.:33:41.

a bit mad. I don't know what I'm doing here. Take this as a

:33:42.:33:45.

distraction. Yeah, definitely. Tell me about Glastonbury as a child the

:33:46.:33:48.

very first time? The very first time. I don't remember. I was very,

:33:49.:33:52.

very young. It was muddy, I remember it being one of the worst years. I

:33:53.:33:55.

remember seeing garbage and being like, I want to do that. I remember

:33:56.:34:00.

doing that for sure. Being in the circus, there's a lot of photographs

:34:01.:34:04.

of me during my set, from when I was younger. That's kind of made me want

:34:05.:34:08.

to do it. I grew up at festivals. Glastonbury is a massive part of my

:34:09.:34:12.

life. The first time that you played Glastonbury, the only time you

:34:13.:34:16.

played? I played once, the Guardian tent, to no-one. And then downpour.

:34:17.:34:20.

So everyone rushed in and spoke over me. I think it was 2007. It was in

:34:21.:34:25.

the T tent. I went on just before Florence. Oh, did you, what. It was

:34:26.:34:28.

amazing. Did you do the whole experience? Oh, yeah. You camped?

:34:29.:34:34.

Oh, yeah, lost my mates. My manager was just like moaning about the

:34:35.:34:39.

winnebagos. I used to be in a tent with nowhere to stay, blag a space

:34:40.:34:44.

in the arch way of a tent. Always. I was drunk. So you came last year as

:34:45.:34:52.

well I came last year to semi-scope it out and semi-see Kanye on the

:34:53.:34:56.

Saturday night. I watch today on Emily. I was so frightened just

:34:57.:35:00.

watching his set and at the same time, I said yeah, all right I'll do

:35:01.:35:05.

it. Why did you do it? I think Glastonbury will end up being a big

:35:06.:35:10.

part of my kids' life as well. I want to say, I did that. I want it

:35:11.:35:14.

to be part of his childhood as well. So I want him to see me do it. Your

:35:15.:35:21.

proper debut is head lining on the Pyramid Stage the Saturday night,

:35:22.:35:24.

I'm not saying that to make you sick. I'm as nervous as I was in the

:35:25.:35:30.

Guardian tent. My nerves, I keep bursting into tears and feeling

:35:31.:35:33.

sick. Earlier, I felt like driving home. I could have got home before

:35:34.:35:39.

my set. Now I'm stuck. How did the arena tour, those shows, did they

:35:40.:35:43.

prepare you for doing this? I love arenas. There's so many people to

:35:44.:35:46.

talk to. I don't know if I can pull it off tonight. I want it talk. I

:35:47.:35:50.

don't want to ignore the crowd. Whether there's ten of you or 10,000

:35:51.:35:55.

or a few more than that, as long as they're happy to see my set, I want

:35:56.:35:59.

to talk to them and see what their favourite colour it. It will be

:36:00.:36:03.

interesting to see if it works. I can't not talk to them. If they get

:36:04.:36:07.

wet, I'll get wet. How do you adapt your set? You're not going to have

:36:08.:36:12.

dancers? I can't imagine I'll be dancing! No dancers. I've got my

:36:13.:36:17.

orchestra, that will be nice. I've got my band. Nothing, I haven't got

:36:18.:36:23.

any bells or whistles. Have you got outstanding memories of bands and

:36:24.:36:25.

performances in the past, whether it on television or when you were here,

:36:26.:36:32.

like the great moments for you? Arctic Monkies, last shadow puppets,

:36:33.:36:38.

do you remember That's Momma, African singers, bloody amazing. She

:36:39.:36:42.

was like the first Beyonce. She was in the jazz field years ago. That

:36:43.:36:46.

was amazing. Due watch Beyonce? On TV. I think I was in America then.

:36:47.:36:52.

What due think? She's like my I'd o. -- idol. She aced it. She kept

:36:53.:36:56.

leaving the stage to throw up because she was pregnant. She said

:36:57.:37:00.

that! She kept walking off stage to throw up. That's not exclusive by

:37:01.:37:04.

the way, I saw that on TV one time. Hang on, if you exit the stage

:37:05.:37:09.

you're not pregnant. No! I don't want any more kids. I'm trying to

:37:10.:37:14.

think what my highlight was. I'm going to say Basement Jaxx. Did she

:37:15.:37:27.

stand in for Kylie? Unbelievable. That was my favourite and Coldplay

:37:28.:37:32.

always smash it. Advice, have you had advice from headliners in the

:37:33.:37:36.

past, like Florence or Coldplay? She came to my London show and said it

:37:37.:37:40.

would be great. Chris has been helpful. I spoke to him yesterday

:37:41.:37:43.

and I cried a lot. I'm really emotional about it. He said, well,

:37:44.:37:47.

this is the worst thing that can happen, your sound will probably cut

:37:48.:37:50.

out for you, don't worry about that. It happens for everyone. If it rains

:37:51.:37:58.

you will fall over in front of thousands of people. Somebody will

:37:59.:38:03.

throw something at you, a pat or mud, but it won't be spiteful. It

:38:04.:38:10.

will be friendly. Thanks Chris! Probably don't go to Chris Martin

:38:11.:38:14.

for any kind of pep talk is the takeaway for that interview. Oh,

:38:15.:38:19.

Adele, Britain is rooting for Adele, I feel. She can bring us all

:38:20.:38:23.

together. Can't she? In our mutual love of Adele. She's incredible.

:38:24.:38:28.

Tonight's performance will be a big moment in her musical story as well.

:38:29.:38:33.

About half an hour to go until Adele takes to the Pyramid Stage. We will

:38:34.:38:36.

bring it to you live tonight. Don't go anywhere. Let's head to the Other

:38:37.:38:41.

Stage now, a brilliant band from Scotland playing there. Yes glag

:38:42.:38:42.

indeed. It's the wonderful Chvrches. # I never believe but I see it now

:38:43.:39:28.

# I'm learning the lessons # I'm learning your lessons

:39:29.:39:31.

# They make you feel so clever to do well.

:39:32.:39:57.

# Finally, we agree, no place for promises yeah

:39:58.:40:05.

# You better act so # High, high, I don't want bridges

:40:06.:40:08.

# I will be a gun # And it's you I'll come for

:40:09.:40:12.

# Hide, hide # No, it's not so easy

:40:13.:40:17.

# I will be a gun. # Who are you to tell me how to keep

:40:18.:40:26.

myself afloat # I tread water all the while

:40:27.:40:35.

# You stop and deny you held out my life

:40:36.:40:38.

# Did it make you feel so clever # Did you wear it on your sleeve

:40:39.:40:47.

# Did you see another lifetime # I was not a part so far

:40:48.:40:58.

# There is no other way # Finally, we agree, no place for

:40:59.:41:05.

promises here # You better run so

:41:06.:41:10.

# Hide, hide # I have burned the bridgeser I will

:41:11.:41:15.

be a gun and it's you I'll come for # Hide, hide, now it's all so easy

:41:16.:41:22.

# I will be a gun # There's no other way, never run

:41:23.:41:26.

far # Check a good swing at me and

:41:27.:41:30.

everything is even # Finally, we agree

:41:31.:41:38.

# No place for promises here. # Hide, hide, I am going to be burn

:41:39.:41:43.

the bridges # I will be a gun and it's you I'll

:41:44.:41:47.

come for # Hide, hide, now it's all so easy

:41:48.:41:51.

# I will be a gun # It's you I'll come for.

:41:52.:42:03.

# And it's you I'll come for. # And it's you I'll come for.

:42:04.:42:10.

# And it's you... # I am going to see that you won't

:42:11.:42:13.

go far # And I'm going to see that you

:42:14.:42:24.

won't go far # CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

:42:25.:43:19.

# We can just leave it here # So quick any number

:43:20.:43:32.

# Choose any colour # I could be answered.

:43:33.:43:44.

# And, no, you know you don't need me

:43:45.:46:28.

Wow! Absolutely spectacular set from Chvrches earlier today. What a hero.

:46:29.:46:38.

She should be a cometic book hero. I'm sure someone could draw her. And

:46:39.:46:44.

the sunset playing along as well. It looked beautiful. In anticipation of

:46:45.:46:53.

Adele's headline set, Clara went to see what's going on there 30 minutes

:46:54.:46:57.

before she goes on stage. Yes, here I am in the belly of the beast at

:46:58.:47:07.

the iconic Pyramid Stage waiting for one Misadeal Atkins. Those eyes are

:47:08.:47:14.

arguably the most well applied liquid I liner in pop. I've never

:47:15.:47:20.

seen as many excited people in one space as today. We had in one space

:47:21.:47:24.

as today. We had tame tame, who -- we had Tame Impala who warmed up for

:47:25.:47:29.

her earlier. A beautiful set. Everyone is rooting for Adele. This

:47:30.:47:33.

is a woman who famously said she would never do Glastonbury, too much

:47:34.:47:37.

mud. She couldn't deal with the cloud. Then she let slip she didn't

:47:38.:47:42.

have an opportunity to do it last year, because the record wasn't

:47:43.:47:48.

level. But now 25 is out there. I will never forget that famous day

:47:49.:47:54.

inning October when there was that adbreak and we heard the words,

:47:55.:48:00.

Hello. You may have seen her talking to Jo earlier, expressing how

:48:01.:48:03.

nervous she's feeling tonight. It's understandable. There's a lot of

:48:04.:48:08.

people out to see her. Everybody is truly on her side. Three albums

:48:09.:48:12.

worth of material to get through. We absolutely cannot wait. As we wait

:48:13.:48:17.

for Adele, I want to have a look back at some of her peers, some of

:48:18.:48:22.

the famous faces who have grace that the pyramid stage and truly made it

:48:23.:48:27.

their own. The pyramid at Glastonbury Festival is the most

:48:28.:48:30.

instantly recognisable stage in the world. Whoever you are, however

:48:31.:48:35.

large the star, a headline twig on the Pyramid Stage is always the big

:48:36.:48:41.

one. And after treading its hallowed boards, most artists fall in love

:48:42.:48:50.

with it. I felt like a rock star. This is like the highlight of my

:48:51.:48:58.

career. That was as good as it gets. I love the excitement, the

:48:59.:49:01.

electricity. Perhaps part of its appeal lies in the nature of its

:49:02.:49:05.

unusual design. It's a fantastic shape. A pyramid turned into a

:49:06.:49:13.

stage. Isn't that strange? Another element that adds to its symbolic

:49:14.:49:17.

power is its history. Which goes back to the first real Glastonbury

:49:18.:49:22.

festival, in 1971, the Glastonbury Fair. The pyramid first became a

:49:23.:49:30.

permanent structure in 1981. Made of corrugated steel and Telegraph

:49:31.:49:34.

poles. When not hosting bands it was a cow shed. In 1994, disaster

:49:35.:49:40.

struck, between Pyramid Stage burnt down. And for the rest of the '90s

:49:41.:49:46.

it was replaced by a temporary stage. In 2000 the Pyramid Stage

:49:47.:49:55.

rose from the ashes into the iconic inanation we know and love today.

:49:56.:50:00.

Christened with a gallon of work from Worthy Farm by Michael Eavis

:50:01.:50:06.

and Robert Plant. Here goes the pyramid for the third millennium. It

:50:07.:50:10.

is open! This history and near mythical status is something all

:50:11.:50:18.

artists feed on. The Pyramid Stage is a Stonehenge for British bands.

:50:19.:50:25.

An epic headline set can springboard the hottest new band to greatness

:50:26.:50:30.

and catapult an already great band into the rock stratosphere. It was

:50:31.:50:35.

sheer size of it that blew us away. To top the bill on the Pyramid Stage

:50:36.:50:39.

is an appointment with destiny. It's the stuff rock 'n' roll dreams are

:50:40.:50:43.

made of. It's the equivalent of scoring a goal at Wembley.

:50:44.:50:53.

CHEERING. I interviewed the guy who built the first one, the first

:50:54.:50:58.

Pyramid Stage. Tony, on my show yesterday on BBC 6 Music. Apparently

:50:59.:51:06.

they used recommissioned, decommissioned MOD canvas and

:51:07.:51:10.

Telegraph poles he said, in 1971. It's a beast, that stage. One tenth

:51:11.:51:16.

the size of the pyramid of Giza apparently. We'll be going to it

:51:17.:51:22.

soon. But now something intimate from a band in Birmingham, Alabama.

:51:23.:51:27.

This is St Paul and the broken bones.

:51:28.:51:40.

# But our doctors keep us high (we can't get you low)

:51:41.:52:13.

APPLAUSE. Thank you so much to Paul and the broken bones. A new album

:52:14.:55:09.

for your group this year. Thank you gentlemen. That was a pleasure.

:55:10.:55:14.

Enjoy your first Glastonbury. Some live music now. A big gig for this

:55:15.:55:21.

band from Australia. You met Tame Impala earlier. He didn't come in.

:55:22.:55:27.

He was resting his voice. I thought fair enough. Kevin was going to pop

:55:28.:55:33.

in. I said, have a herbal tea, smash it on the pyramid, and he did. Did.

:55:34.:55:36.

Good job, lad. # In the end it's stronger

:55:37.:55:56.

than I know how to be # And I can't just spend my

:55:57.:56:02.

whole lifetime wondering # I fell in love with the sound

:56:03.:56:10.

of my heels on the wooden floor # I don't want our footsteps

:56:11.:56:18.

to be silent anymore # In the end it's gone

:56:19.:56:26.

and there's nothing left to do # But I'm still not certain

:56:27.:56:51.

just how I'm gonna feel # Ooh, it's getting

:56:52.:58:49.

# Shaking his big grey trunk for the hell of it

:58:50.:00:42.

# He knows that you're dreaming about being loved by him

:00:43.:00:44.

# To get shy when they ask him who is on top

:00:45.:00:50.

# There must be something deep down in the dark down there

:00:51.:00:53.

# He's got friends but they got the fear

:00:54.:01:01.

# Wouldn't care too much if he just disappeared

:01:02.:01:06.

# Oh look see there he is now coming down the stairs

:01:07.:01:14.

# He pulled the mirrors off his Cadillac

:01:15.:02:57.

# Cos he doesn't like it looking like he looks back

:02:58.:03:00.

# He talks like his opinion is a simple fact

:03:01.:03:08.

# Somebody grabbed his collar He cried the whole way home

:03:09.:03:15.

# No one remembered a thing when they saw him again

:03:16.:03:23.

# That's how it is till the end

:03:24.:03:38.

All right. Keep it going, keep it going, Glastonbury.

:03:39.:03:58.

Keep the party going. # Someone said they left together

:03:59.:04:24.

I ran out the door to get her # She was holding hands with Trevor

:04:25.:04:31.

Not the greatest feeling ever # "You should try your

:04:32.:04:40.

luck with Heather" # Then I heard they slept together

:04:41.:04:47.

Oh the less I know the better # Oh my love can't you see

:04:48.:05:01.

yourself by my side? # No surprise when you're

:05:02.:05:13.

on his shoulder like every night # Oh my love can't you see

:05:14.:05:21.

that you're on my mind? # Don't suppose we could convince

:05:22.:05:29.

your lover to change his mind # Oh my love can't you see

:05:30.:05:37.

yourself by my side? # I don't suppose you could convince

:05:38.:06:27.

your lover to change his mind # Till I saw your face

:06:28.:06:36.

now I can't erase # Is this what you want?

:06:37.:06:47.

is this who you are? # Till I saw your eyes

:06:48.:06:53.

turn away from mine # Oh sweet darling

:06:54.:07:00.

where he wants you # Said "Come on Superman

:07:01.:07:04.

say your stupid line".# CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

:07:05.:07:45.

The sun soaked psych of Australian band Tame Impala. Isn't it as dreamy

:07:46.:07:54.

sound! Noted music for tepees, isn't it? I like it. They were on the

:07:55.:08:00.

Pyramid Stage earlier on before tonight's headliner. We saw her

:08:01.:08:04.

interview earlier on. She's played Glastonbury once in a tiny tent just

:08:05.:08:09.

before Florence And The Machine. She camped here years ago. Things have

:08:10.:08:13.

changed so much. Three albums in. 25 was the latest. She's on a mammoth

:08:14.:08:18.

World Tour at the moment. She's on like a proper health kick for it as

:08:19.:08:22.

well. She quit booze for it. She's glowing. She's on fire. We're

:08:23.:08:26.

excited about tonight. Before we bring you Adele on the Pyramid

:08:27.:08:30.

Stage, here's a bit more about your Saturday night headliner at

:08:31.:08:40.

Glastonbury 2016. Second newspaper Glastonbury 2016's

:08:41.:08:44.

hat-trick of home grown headliners is the nation, no, the world's,

:08:49.:08:53.

# Let me photograph you in this light...

:08:54.:08:57.

# Send my love to you... # Surprisingly, this is her first

:08:58.:09:01.

official outing at Glastonbury and she's making her way straight to the

:09:02.:09:06.

top, Saturday night on the Pyramid Stage. To the Nan born Adele dreamed

:09:07.:09:15.

of following in the food steps of her heroes, Eta James and the Spice

:09:16.:09:18.

Girls. She began to write her songs at the BRIT School in Croydon. Soon

:09:19.:09:22.

she was on our screens and on the road to glory. We welcome from

# I've been walking in the same way... Zblt hits kept coming.

:10:03.:10:07.

# Should I give up or should I just keep chasing pavements. Please give

:10:08.:10:11.

a good cheer for the gorgeous Adele. Hello! I'm not going to talk for too

:10:12.:10:16.

long because I think speeches are really boring. Next came what some

:10:17.:10:21.

refer to as the tricky second album. # There's a fire starting in my

:10:22.:10:26.

heart... 21 stormed the top of the charts and camped out there for

:10:27.:10:32.

longer than any other album by a female solo artist in history.

:10:33.:10:37.

# We could have had it all# She's currently number one in an

:10:38.:10:42.

astonishing 17 countries. If you've ever had a broken heart, you're

:10:43.:10:46.

about to remember it. # Never mind, I'll find someone like

:10:47.:10:50.

you # I wish nothing but the best for

:10:51.:11:01.

you two. With Someone like You she gave the nation a weepy moment.

:11:02.:11:09.

So by her mid-20s, Adele was fast becoming a national treasure, making

:11:10.:11:17.

her a perfect fit to form the -- to perform the latest Bond theme.

:11:18.:11:23.

# This is the end # Hold your breath and count ten#

:11:24.:11:32.

If that wasn't honour enough, it won a Grammy, a Golden Globe and... Oh,

:11:33.:11:37.

my God. Even an Oscar. # Skyfall, when they crumble#

:11:38.:11:42.

And the fairy-tale continued, when later, in 2013, Adele was invited to

:11:43.:11:49.

the Palace to receive an MBE. After all that, Adele needed a break, in

:11:50.:11:52.

fact, she took some time off to become a mum and reflect on the

:11:53.:11:59.

phenomenon her life has become. But now, she's back. The new album, 25,

:12:00.:12:07.

has become the UK's fastest selling album of all time. She's just signed

:12:08.:12:13.

the most lucrative record deal in history.

:12:14.:12:15.

# Hello from the other side# And the biggest star on the planet

:12:16.:12:20.

is about to storm its greatest stage.

:12:21.:12:29.

What an amazing story it's been for Adele. It continues tonight here

:12:30.:12:33.

live on your tellies at Glastonbury 2016. I think tonight's headline

:12:34.:12:36.

performance, the music's incredible. I love Adele. Everyone loves Adele.

:12:37.:12:39.

Everyone's looking forward to hearing what she's got to say. Very

:12:40.:12:43.

much so. Her banter is second to none. She might turn the air blue,

:12:44.:12:50.

you know, God bless him, God rest him Lemmy last year has nothing on

:12:51.:12:53.

Adele for the swearing. We'll see how that goes. I'm nervous now. I

:12:54.:12:56.

was excited about it as well, watching that build up and how far

:12:57.:12:59.

she's come and knowing how much it means to her, from what she said to

:13:00.:13:05.

Jo, quite nervous. It's a really big deal this. I think we need to let

:13:06.:13:10.

the feels out. It's been an emotional week. There's nobody

:13:11.:13:13.

better to accompany us through a Saturday night than Adele. Coldplay

:13:14.:13:19.

headline tomorrow night with Beck and so many other incredible

:13:20.:13:23.

performers. Coverage continue after Adele with more live highlights from

:13:24.:13:27.

all the stages. There's loads of footage and live footage on the

:13:28.:13:31.

website. Now the time has arrived. So settle down, hope you've got a

:13:32.:13:35.

cup of tea, because you're in for a treat. Yes, we're going to go and

:13:36.:13:41.

see our charra, she is in -- Clara, she's in the bit by the side of the

:13:42.:13:46.

Pyramid Stage, waiting for the first, huge headline slots from

:13:47.:13:47.

Adele. How is it going? It's set to be a

:13:48.:13:58.

truly beautiful Saturday night. Adele everybody. . Rumour has, it

:13:59.:14:06.

was spotted in the Tesco getting her shopping before her performance. I

:14:07.:14:10.

can confirm she's here. Adele says what she thinks. We love her for

:14:11.:14:14.

that. Expect there to be strong language in this performance. Ladies

:14:15.:14:17.

and gentlemen, get ready to laugh and cry and feel it all, here's

:14:18.:14:19.

Adele. # Hello

:14:20.:15:26.

# I was wondering if after all these years you'd like to meet

:15:27.:15:53.

# They say that time's supposed to heal ya

:15:54.:15:58.

# I'm in Glastonbury, dreaming about who we used to be

:15:59.:16:19.

# I've forgotten how it felt before the world fell at our feet

:16:20.:16:26.

# There's such a difference between us

:16:27.:16:31.

# To tell you I'm sorry for everything that I've done

:16:32.:16:58.

# But when I call you never seem to be home

:16:59.:17:03.

# To tell you I'm sorry for breaking your heart

:17:04.:17:20.

# But it don't matter, it clearly doesn't tear you apart

:17:21.:17:25.

# It's so typical of me to talk about myself, I'm sorry

:17:26.:17:44.

# Did you ever make it out of that town where nothing ever happened?

:17:45.:17:56.

# To tell you I'm sorry for everything that I've done

:17:57.:18:26.

# But when I call # You never seem to be home

:18:27.:18:32.

# To tell you I'm sorry for breaking your heart

:18:33.:18:47.

# Anymore, ooooohh # Anymore, ooooohh

:18:48.:19:08.

# Anymore, anymore # To tell you I'm sorry for

:19:09.:19:49.

everything that I've done # But when I call you

:19:50.:20:04.

never seem to be home # To tell you I'm sorry

:20:05.:20:11.

for breaking your heart # But it don't matter, it clearly

:20:12.:20:31.

doesn't tear you apart This is mad. Oh, my fucking... . I

:20:32.:21:08.

think we might just have to go into another one, my darlings. I don't

:21:09.:21:09.

know what to say to you yet. # Ooh, ooh

:21:10.:21:19.

Ooh, ooh # She ain't gonna be

:21:20.:21:22.

able to love yo like I will # You and I have history

:21:23.:21:29.

Or don't you remember? # But, baby, is that

:21:30.:21:37.

really what you want? # Bless your soul

:21:38.:21:48.

you've got your head in the clouds # She made a fool out of you

:21:49.:21:51.

And, boy, she's bringing you down # She made your heart melt

:21:52.:21:57.

But you're cold to the core # Now rumour has it

:21:58.:22:00.

She ain't got your love anymore # Ooh, rumour has it

:22:01.:22:05.

Ooh, rumour has it # But I'm guessing that's

:22:06.:22:25.

the reason that you strayed # You've been telling people

:22:26.:22:29.

things you shouldn't be # When we creep out

:22:30.:22:39.

and she ain't around # Bless your soul, you've

:22:40.:22:43.

got your head in the clouds # You made a fool out of me

:22:44.:22:51.

And, boy, it's bringing me down # You made my heart melt But I'm

:22:52.:22:55.

cold to my core # But rumour has it I'm the one

:22:56.:23:00.

You're leaving her for # Ooh, rumour has it

:23:01.:23:03.

Ooh, rumour has it # A-a-all of these words

:23:04.:23:31.

Whispered in my ear # Tell a story that I cannot bear

:23:32.:23:40.

to hear # Just cos I said it it

:23:41.:23:44.

don't mean that I meant it # Just cos I said it

:23:45.:23:50.

don't mean that I meant it # Ooh, rumour has it

:23:51.:24:21.

Ooh, rumour has it # But I'm guessing that's

:24:22.:24:28.

the reason that you strayed # But rumour has it he's the one I'm

:24:29.:24:40.

leaving you for #. I can show you that I was wrong

:24:41.:27:10.

# I was a child then, but now I'm willing to learn.

:27:11.:27:13.

# We had time against us # And miles between us

:27:14.:27:17.

# The heavens cried # I know I left you speechless

:27:18.:27:24.

# But now the sky has cleared and it's blue

:27:25.:27:29.

# And I see my future in you # I'll be waiting for you

:27:30.:27:33.

# When you're ready to love me again # I put my hands up

:27:34.:27:37.

# I'll do everything different # I'll be better to you

:27:38.:27:40.

# I'll be waiting for you when you're ready to love me again

:27:41.:27:44.

# I put my hands up # I'll be somebody different

:27:45.:27:49.

# I'll be better to you # Time against us

:27:50.:27:53.

# Miles between us # Miles between us

:27:54.:27:55.

# Heavens cried # I know I left you speechless

:27:56.:28:03.

# Time against us # Miles between us

:28:04.:28:05.

# Heavens cried # I know I left you speechless

:28:06.:28:19.

# I left you speechless... # I'll be waiting

:28:20.:28:24.

# I've been waiting for you

:28:25.:28:32.

# When you're ready to love me again #

:28:33.:28:34.

I put my hands up # I'll do everything different

:28:35.:28:37.

# I'll be better to you # I'll be waiting for you when

:28:38.:28:41.

you're ready to love me again # I put my hands up

:28:42.:28:46.

# I'll be somebody different # I'll be better to you...

:28:47.:28:50.

# CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

:28:51.:29:41.

# I grow fonder every day loose myself in time.

:29:42.:29:45.

# Just thinking of your face God only knows

:29:46.:29:47.

# Why it's taking me so long to let my doubts go

:29:48.:29:50.

# I don't know why I'm scared, I've been here before.

:29:51.:29:54.

# Every feeling every word, I've imagined it all,

:29:55.:29:56.

# You never know if you never tried to forgive your past

:29:57.:29:59.

# I dare you to let me be all, the one and only

:30:00.:30:20.

# Promise I'm worthy to hold in your arms

:30:21.:30:26.

# So come on and give me the chance # To prove up I'm the one who can

:30:27.:30:35.

lose yourself in time # At the mention of my

:30:36.:31:03.

name, will I ever love # How it feels to hold you close

:31:04.:31:13.

# And have you tell me which ever road I chose you'll go

:31:14.:31:22.

# I don't know why I'm scared, I've been here before

:31:23.:31:26.

# Every feeling every word, I've imagined it all,

:31:27.:31:31.

# You never know if you never tried to forgive your past

:31:32.:31:37.

# I promise I'm worthy to hold in your arms

:31:38.:32:01.

# So come on and give me the chance # To prove up I'm the one who can

:32:02.:32:11.

# Walk them miles until the end starts

:32:12.:32:41.

# Nobody's perfect, it ain't easy, trust me I've given up your heart

:32:42.:33:17.

# Nobody's perfect, it ain't easy, trust me I've given up your heart

:33:18.:33:38.

# So I dare you to let me be all, the one and only

:33:39.:33:47.

# I promise I'm worthy to hold in your arms

:33:48.:33:55.

# So come on and give me the chance # To prove up I'm the one who can

:33:56.:34:06.

# Walk them miles until the end starts

:34:07.:34:14.

# Walk them miles until the end starts.

:34:15.:34:42.

Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Oh, my God! Hi. Hi. Oh, my God. This is the best

:34:43.:35:00.

fucking moment of my whole life! CHEERING Oh, my God. Look at you.

:35:01.:35:07.

Can you put the lights on more, I want to see everyone - oh, look! Oh,

:35:08.:35:14.

my God! Keep the lights on. I want one of you to come up and say hello

:35:15.:35:18.

to me. You, I see you. Yes, you, my darling

:35:19.:35:25.

in the blue puffer jacket. You my darling, come here. Can you get that

:35:26.:35:29.

lovely little girl. Come up. Where's the staircase? Oh, shit, I've got to

:35:30.:35:34.

lift you up? Oh, here we go. Glastonbury means the world to me.

:35:35.:35:38.

I'm not even lying. I'm not just saying that because I'm here with

:35:39.:35:43.

you lot. I've awes wanted to do this my whole life, I've -- always wanted

:35:44.:35:48.

to do this my whole life. I've just been too scared. I've been coming to

:35:49.:35:53.

Glastonbury since I was your age my darling girl. What's your name?

:35:54.:35:59.

Lyla. Ewe old are you? Ten. Who are you with? My family and friends.

:36:00.:36:04.

What day did you get here? Friday. Who have you seen that you liked?

:36:05.:36:08.

Erm...... Have you seen anyone yet? Bastille. Any of you lot see

:36:09.:36:12.

Bastille? CHEERING

:36:13.:36:18.

Who else? We saw Jess Glynn. Oh, yeah, I like her. What's your

:36:19.:36:22.

favourite colour? Pink. Nice. Mine's green. Let's go over here to get a

:36:23.:36:27.

selfie. I know, because I'm going to get more of you up later. Where have

:36:28.:36:31.

they gone, my darling. Where are you, mum? Do you want to take a

:36:32.:36:36.

picture of us up here? Unless your battery's dead. Where are they? Here

:36:37.:36:38.

we go. ( CHEERING. Yay. Thanks for coming up,

:36:39.:36:49.

my darling. Let me walk you back to the stage. Who are you looking

:36:50.:36:52.

forward to seeing tomorrow? Don't know. I think I'm looking forward to

:36:53.:36:57.

seeing Coldplay. Are you watching Coldplay? Yeah. I saw them recently

:36:58.:37:01.

in bars loanament I don't know how they -- Barcelona. I don't know how

:37:02.:37:05.

they manage to get better and better. Let her back in, there she's

:37:06.:37:10.

obviously been here all day. How are you down the front, are you OK?

:37:11.:37:17.

CHEERING Have any of you had to do a piss, like down the front? Yeah.

:37:18.:37:24.

Have any of you had to do a shit? Someone's pointing - over there, one

:37:25.:37:29.

of you has done a shit. Is that piss in that cup, don't fucking throw

:37:30.:37:33.

that at me. Do you know how rock-and-roll I am, not very. But

:37:34.:37:38.

the BBC had to warn about my potty mouth. I bet Muse didn't get that

:37:39.:37:42.

warning beforehand. Obviously, I'm nervous and scared, hence why I'm

:37:43.:37:46.

talking a millionmph. I would like to thank you all for coming out and

:37:47.:37:51.

watching my show. CHEERING

:37:52.:37:55.

For the last two or three days, I've been like spontaneously bursting

:37:56.:37:58.

into tears. Really excited one minute and then think it's the end

:37:59.:38:01.

of the world. I was literally expecting to come on to like a soggy

:38:02.:38:05.

hay bail blowing in the fucking wind.

:38:06.:38:10.

Thank you. You've made my night and everything, my life, whatever. I'm

:38:11.:38:14.

sure you're aware, I bet you 50 quid I fall over at some point tonight by

:38:15.:38:18.

the way. So I'm sure you're aware that I don't really have many

:38:19.:38:23.

upbeat, happy songs, which why I think a lot of people moaned about

:38:24.:38:27.

me coming tonight, but fuck you, they're obviously not watching,

:38:28.:38:31.

so... Whatever! But I do have a couple. I have a couple of songs

:38:32.:38:35.

that sound happy and sound upbeat. I'm going to give one to you now.

:38:36.:38:39.

After that, it does get miserable. But let's just be miserable together

:38:40.:38:42.

all right. Let's embrace it. I'm here and I

:38:43.:38:47.

ain't going nowhere for like an hour-and-a-half. So, this is Water

:38:48.:38:51.

Under The Bridge. # Then how come I can

:38:52.:39:10.

bring you to your knees? # Why do I hate the

:39:11.:39:20.

idea of being free? # You've gotta stop

:39:21.:39:35.

holding me the way you do # Oh, honey if I'm

:39:36.:39:41.

not the one for you # Why have we been through

:39:42.:39:44.

what we have been through # It's so cold out

:39:45.:39:46.

here in your wilderness # If you're gonna let me

:39:47.:39:58.

down, let me down gently # Don't pretend that

:39:59.:40:11.

you don't want me # Our love ain't water

:40:12.:40:14.

under the bridge # If you're gonna let me

:40:15.:40:18.

down, let me down gently # Don't pretend that

:40:19.:40:21.

you don't want me # Say that our love ain't

:40:22.:40:24.

water under the bridge # You never seem to make

:40:25.:40:39.

it through the door # It ain't no life to live

:40:40.:40:48.

like you're on the run # The only thing that

:40:49.:40:58.

I want is your love # If you're gonna let me

:40:59.:41:08.

down, let me down gently # Don't pretend that

:41:09.:41:11.

you don't want me # Our love ain't water

:41:12.:41:13.

under the bridge # If you're gonna let me

:41:14.:41:17.

down, let me down gently # Don't pretend that

:41:18.:41:21.

you don't want me # Say that our love ain't

:41:22.:41:23.

water under the bridge # If you're gonna let me

:41:24.:41:37.

down, let me down gently # Don't pretend that

:41:38.:42:01.

you don't want me # Our love ain't water

:42:02.:42:04.

under the bridge # If you're gonna let me

:42:05.:42:09.

down, let me down gently # Don't pretend that

:42:10.:42:11.

you don't want me # Our love ain't water

:42:12.:42:15.

under the bridge # Say that our love ain't

:42:16.:42:23.

water under the bridge # Say that our love ain't

:42:24.:42:33.

water under the bridge #. CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

:42:34.:42:59.

You don't mind if I talk lots, do you? No! OK, good. Are you having a

:43:00.:43:05.

good weekend so far. Did lots of you come on Thursday? I didn't stop

:43:06.:43:09.

hearing about a lot of you coming on the Wednesday and causing all that

:43:10.:43:15.

traffic jam, you lot. I have been here a lot of times. I've lost

:43:16.:43:18.

myself a lot of times here, if you know what I mean. Yep. And I'm so

:43:19.:43:24.

honoured and thrilled to be here on the Saturday night, because I've had

:43:25.:43:28.

some of the best times of my life on a Saturday night here at

:43:29.:43:32.

Glastonbury. I really have. Moments in my life that I'll remember

:43:33.:43:35.

forever and obviously this one tops them all. That's why I'm so excited

:43:36.:43:39.

for you, because after this, hopefully you're all drunk and off

:43:40.:43:43.

your face, because it will make my set a bit better. But also, after

:43:44.:43:47.

this, some of you are going to have the most incredible things happen to

:43:48.:43:50.

you. I'm really excited for you. I am! For real, truly. Go and have a

:43:51.:43:55.

little explore. This ain't it. Anyone who ain't ventured outside

:43:56.:43:58.

this bit, oh, my God. It's a right laugh. This next one I'm doing for

:43:59.:44:03.

you, I'm going to do my Bond song for you, Skyfall.

:44:04.:44:10.

Good, I'm glad you're happy about that, thank God, phew! They asked me

:44:11.:44:16.

to do this years ago obviously, I kindly said no the first time

:44:17.:44:19.

because I thought, well, you know things have gone so well on the

:44:20.:44:21.

second album, maybe the world would be like fuck off. And I'm sure a few

:44:22.:44:26.

of you right now are like "fuck off". I said no. Then inside I was

:44:27.:44:29.

dying. They asked again. So I decided to do it. I'm so pleased I

:44:30.:44:35.

did. It was so much fun to read a script and like be under cover

:44:36.:44:39.

because it was top secret. My name was on the script. I felt like James

:44:40.:44:44.

Bond myself. Then I didn't do a video because I was like

:44:45.:44:47.

nine-and-a-half months pregnant and about to drop. I did Halle Berry.

:44:48.:44:55.

Who wants to do a Bond song if you don't look like that. That's the

:44:56.:44:59.

main reason for no video. This is Skyfall.

:45:00.:45:19.

# I've drowned and dreamt this moment

:45:20.:45:55.

# We will stand tall Face it all together

:45:56.:46:27.

# We will stand tall Face it all together

:46:28.:46:34.

# Where worlds collide and days are dark

:46:35.:47:06.

# You may have my number you can take my name

:47:07.:47:13.

# We will stand tall we will stand tall

:47:14.:47:23.

# We will stand tall we will stand tall

:47:24.:47:36.

# Where you go I go What you see I see

:47:37.:48:03.

# I know I'd never be me without the security

:48:04.:48:08.

# Of your loving arms keeping me from harm

:48:09.:48:14.

# Put your hand in my hand and we'll stand

:48:15.:48:17.

# We will stand tall we will stand tall

:48:18.:48:28.

# We will stand tall we will stand tall

:48:29.:48:40.

# Oooh... #

:48:41.:49:18.

I want to go round there. Let me round here. I'll come and have a

:49:19.:49:30.

look. Let me have a look. I can't believe how many of you there are.

:49:31.:49:32.

Truly! I'll come over. Hi. Hi. Hi. Hi, hi! Oh, look, oh, my God I'm on

:49:33.:49:53.

theside screen at Glastonbury. YEAH. Can you keep following me spotlight?

:49:54.:50:01.

Oh, my God. Hi, hi. There's Michael. Thanks for having me, sir. Thank you

:50:02.:50:05.

for having me. I see you all down there and all the way back there.

:50:06.:50:10.

Oh, my God. Oh, my God. I've got so many stories to tell you. Stealing

:50:11.:50:15.

your thunder. So many stories to tell you, but I don't know how tosay

:50:16.:50:21.

anything. Oh, here we go. That is dangerous. How is that saxophone

:50:22.:50:26.

player earlier wandering around. Hi everyone at home. I watched Muse

:50:27.:50:32.

last night at home. Had a Chinese. Did some washing up. Watched Muse.

:50:33.:50:41.

Did you lot watch MUSE. They are insane. I loved it at home much, you

:50:42.:50:48.

lot loved it here, didn't you. Yes. Me too. By chance, is anyone from

:50:49.:50:54.

Tottenham here. Oh, fuck off. Shut the front door, are you really from

:50:55.:51:01.

Tottenham? Are you really. Wherever you're from this song is for you. We

:51:02.:51:06.

wish we could live here, this could be our hometown. Get ready to smile

:51:07.:51:13.

for me at the end because you'll be on the TV. This

:51:14.:51:20.

Homegrown Glory. I was 16 when I wrote this. Never did I think I

:51:21.:51:25.

would be here doing this. # I've been walking

:51:26.:51:33.

in the same way # Missing out the cracks

:51:34.:51:35.

In the pavement # And tutting my heel

:51:36.:51:41.

and strutting my feet # Is there anything

:51:42.:51:43.

I can do for you, dear? # No, and thank you,

:51:44.:51:45.

please, Madam # Round my hometown

:51:46.:51:54.

memories are fresh # Round my hometown

:51:55.:52:04.

Ooh, the people I've met # When the air is

:52:05.:52:14.

so thick and opaque # I love to see everybody in short

:52:15.:52:42.

skirts, shorts and shades # I like it in the city

:52:43.:52:49.

when two worlds collide # You get the people

:52:50.:52:52.

and the government # Shows that we ain't gonna stand

:52:53.:52:55.

shows that we are united # Shows that we ain't gonna stand

:52:56.:53:07.

shows that we are united # Round my hometown

:53:08.:53:18.

memories are fresh # Round my hometown

:53:19.:53:27.

Ooh, the people I've met, yeah # Doo, da da da da da

:53:28.:53:33.

Da da, yeah # Doo dun doo, dun doo

:53:34.:53:53.

Dun doo, ohh-oh # Ohh-oh-oh

:53:54.:53:56.

Oh, yeah # Are the wonders of my world

:53:57.:53:58.

are the wonders of my world # Of my world

:53:59.:54:16.

Of my world # Of my world

:54:17.:54:29.

Of my world Oh, you're beautiful. So I'm going

:54:30.:54:56.

to do a little strip down version of one of my favourite songs off 21.

:54:57.:55:04.

There a country vibe to it. It's by the arrangement we are going to do.

:55:05.:55:13.

There is a singer/songwriter called Alison who had an album, trust me,

:55:14.:55:19.

if you want to listen to itting. This was me and my Alison moment

:55:20.:55:24.

begging and wishing to be her. This is Don't You Remember. Are you lot

:55:25.:55:27.

ready? Yeah. Right, let's do it. # You left with no goodbye

:55:28.:55:44.

Not a single word was said # And I had no idea

:55:45.:56:01.

of the state we were in # I know I have a fickle heart

:56:02.:56:16.

and a bitterness # And a wandering eye

:56:17.:56:26.

and a heaviness in my head # When was the last time that

:56:27.:56:28.

you thought of me? # Or have you completely

:56:29.:57:11.

erased me from your memory? # Cos I often think

:57:12.:57:19.

about where I went wrong # But I know I have a fickle heart

:57:20.:57:31.

and a bitterness # And a wandering eye

:57:32.:57:41.

and a heaviness in my head # Gave you the space

:57:42.:57:47.

so you could breathe # And I kept my distance

:57:48.:58:26.

so you would be free # And hope that you find

:58:27.:58:30.

the missing piece Do any of you have anyone in your

:58:31.:59:45.

life that you would rather be in it? It is impossible that there are only

:59:46.:59:49.

so few of you. You at the back, you must have someone in your life that

:59:50.:59:54.

you wish weren't in it. I know. I've had a lot, hence all my albums that

:59:55.:59:59.

are all quite moody and bitchy. But there was one. It was quite a long

:00:00.:00:04.

time ago because it took me a while to write this album, but it was also

:00:05.:00:08.

because I was being lazy. There was one that kept trying to come into my

:00:09.:00:13.

personal atmosphere, trying to fuck everything up. And I was like, no. I

:00:14.:00:18.

ain't having that. I might as well be married, so why are you trying to

:00:19.:00:25.

come back? To live with your mother. Can't keep up with me. So this is

:00:26.:00:36.

for you, and him. And for any of you and those skanky people that try to

:00:37.:00:39.

do that to us. This is for you and me. This is send my love.

:00:40.:00:52.

# You put your hands on, on my body and told me

:00:53.:01:00.

# I'd be your last love everlasting you and me

:01:01.:01:12.

# We've gotta let go of all of our ghosts

:01:13.:01:35.

# We gotta let go of all of our ghosts

:01:36.:01:47.

# I was too strong you were trembling

:01:48.:01:58.

# You couldn't handle the hot heat rising rising

:01:59.:02:04.

# You couldn't keep up, you were falling down down

:02:05.:02:16.

# We gotta let go of all of our ghosts

:02:17.:02:39.

# We've gotta let go of all of our ghosts

:02:40.:02:51.

# We've gotta let go of all of our ghosts

:02:52.:03:38.

# We both know we ain't kids no more of all of our ghosts

:03:39.:03:53.

# If you're ready, if you're ready Send my love to your new lover

:03:54.:03:58.

# If you're ready, I am ready Treat her better

:03:59.:04:02.

# We've gotta let go of all of our ghosts

:04:03.:04:05.

# If you're ready, I am ready

:04:06.:04:13.

# We've gotta let go of all of our ghosts

:04:14.:04:16.

# We both know we ain't kids no more #.

:04:17.:05:07.

Sorry, I will have to start again. It is all that fucking dancing, I

:05:08.:05:20.

ain't used to it! Right, I am ready. OK, let's go.

:05:21.:05:44.

# but my heart is a valley, it's so shallow. # I'm so scared that if I

:05:45.:05:55.

let you in, you will see that I'm just a fake. # sometimes I feel

:05:56.:06:01.

lonely in the arms of your touch. # but I know that's just me.

:06:02.:06:10.

# when I was a child, I grew up by the River Lee.

:06:11.:07:01.

So I blame it on the River Lea, the River Lea, the River Lea

:07:02.:07:13.

# I should probably tell you now before it's way too late

:07:14.:07:16.

# That I never meant to hurt you or lie straight to your face

:07:17.:07:19.

# Consider this my apology, I know it's years in advance

:07:20.:07:22.

# But I'd rather say it now in case I never get the chance

:07:23.:07:26.

# out of my fingertips but the reeds are growing

:07:27.:07:35.

# I can't go back to the river But it's in my roots, in my veins

:07:36.:07:42.

# It's in my blood and I stain every heart that I use to heal the pain

:07:43.:07:53.

# Oh, it's in my roots, in my veins

:07:54.:07:57.

# It's in my blood and I stain every heart that I use

:07:58.:08:00.

# Yeah, I blame it on the River Lea, the River Lea, the River Lea

:08:01.:08:25.

# River Lea, River Lea River Lea, River Lea

:08:26.:09:12.

Perfect time to fuck at a song at Glastonbury headline set, wouldn't

:09:13.:09:20.

you agree? Perfect time. Hi, I'm coming down. Is that for me? Oh,

:09:21.:09:34.

thank you! Thank you so much. Thank you, darling. Hi! Hi, my darling.

:09:35.:09:46.

Hang on, I've got shoes on. I'm going to have to put my new friend

:09:47.:09:50.

down here, I'm afraid. Front row, though. That's better, I can see

:09:51.:10:06.

you! How are you? Look, the flags! I don't like being that far away from

:10:07.:10:14.

you, I can't see you. Hi. Last night, when I was watching it on TV,

:10:15.:10:20.

you know they shoot it back there. And even when I was watching it, I

:10:21.:10:25.

was like, where am I going to stand? It is so mind blowing that I am up

:10:26.:10:29.

here. And thank you for letting me have this little stage here. Thank

:10:30.:10:36.

you so much, Glastonbury. Right. So, are you ready? It's going to be fun,

:10:37.:10:40.

this one. I will try my best not to fuck it up. Oh, my God, you look

:10:41.:10:44.

like Brian Harvey from the 17! All right, Brian! So, this song kicked

:10:45.:10:51.

off a whole other level in my life. You're nice and muddy, have you

:10:52.:10:56.

fallen over? I want you to sing with me loud. I want us to jump as well

:10:57.:11:00.

because that is the only opportunity I have with this one. This is

:11:01.:11:02.

rolling in the deep, Glastonbury. # There's a fire

:11:03.:11:10.

starting in my heart # There's a fire

:11:11.:11:15.

starting in my heart # Baby, I have no story

:11:16.:11:42.

to be told # And I'm gonna

:11:43.:12:32.

make your head burn Fucking hell! Oh, my God, I want to

:12:33.:14:15.

have a singalong, all right? I'm going to do it, then the girls will

:14:16.:14:19.

do it and then we are all going to do it.

:14:20.:14:32.

# your gonna wish you never had met me.

:14:33.:14:40.

Songs micro tears are done for. Glastonbury!

:14:41.:14:49.

# You're gonna wish you never had met me.

:14:50.:14:54.

CHEERING AND APPLAUSE. Wow! I like your T-shirt, my darling. Fucking

:14:55.:15:56.

hell, that was amazing. Amazing. Oh! I love you, too. Fucking hell, why

:15:57.:16:02.

are you crying? Why are you crying. Sigh saw three flares then. Never in

:16:03.:16:07.

my wildest dream would I see a flare. Someone shot something up in

:16:08.:16:13.

the sky. Oh, my God where's your other willy? You've only got one

:16:14.:16:19.

willy. Where it's gone. It fell off your foot. Don't put her down. Don't

:16:20.:16:25.

put it down. That confetti has gone right in on it. I bet it will get

:16:26.:16:31.

muddy. That was amazing. Don't you pull me off. Where are you from?

:16:32.:16:36.

Where are you from? Stoke-on-Trent. Anyone else from Stoke-on-Trent?

:16:37.:16:41.

Hang on a minute, we are one big happy family here, stop your booing.

:16:42.:16:46.

Where are you from? Eastbourne, Derbyshire. Ash bourne.

:16:47.:16:54.

Where are you from? Coventry. I'll have no fucking booing on my show.

:16:55.:17:06.

After what went on the other day. You want to boo each other. Where

:17:07.:17:10.

are you from? Holloway. Where are you from? Reading. Bristol. Where

:17:11.:17:17.

are you from, the with all the lights on? Yorkshire. He's from

:17:18.:17:19.

Yorkshire. Stop with your booing. We have South

:17:20.:17:28.

Africa over there. You look lovely. You look lovely. So, you look like -

:17:29.:17:36.

I don't like that finger-pointing. I'm going to do a ballad for you.

:17:37.:17:45.

It's Saturday and you might not have your phone charge. When I was here

:17:46.:17:49.

last year there was a building where you could charge your phone. It's

:17:50.:17:55.

weird but I suppose they use it. Can you put your phone on for me if you

:17:56.:18:01.

have a light. Keep going. It will look fucking amazing. Keep going, my

:18:02.:18:05.

darlings. Keep going. Oh! I could actually cry. Right this song,

:18:06.:18:09.

right. It's off of my first album. It's actually a cover. Do we have

:18:10.:18:15.

Bob Dylan fans here? When I first heard this song it, like, broke my

:18:16.:18:19.

heart and fixed it all at the same time much I want to dedicate this to

:18:20.:18:24.

my grandad who, he's dead, obviously. He probably would have

:18:25.:18:28.

died anyway if he'd ever seen me do. This you look amazing. Oh, my God!

:18:29.:18:34.

Oh! I want to sing this for him, but I want to sing it for you and anyone

:18:35.:18:38.

you have loved. It's weird at the moment stuff going for all of us. We

:18:39.:18:42.

need to look after each other. This is Make You Feel My Love. You look

:18:43.:18:45.

amazing. # When the rain is blowing

:18:46.:19:06.

in your face # And the whole world

:19:07.:19:18.

is on your case # I could offer

:19:19.:19:26.

you a warm embrace # When the evening shadows

:19:27.:19:31.

and the stars appear # And there is no-one

:19:32.:19:47.

there to dry your tears # Oh, I could hold

:19:48.:19:59.

you for a million years # I know you haven't

:20:00.:20:02.

made your mind up yet # I've known it from the moment

:20:03.:20:10.

that we met # There's no doubt

:20:11.:20:22.

in my mind where you belong # I'd go hungry

:20:23.:20:29.

I'd go black and blue # And I'd go crawling

:20:30.:20:37.

down the avenu # No, there's nothing

:20:38.:20:45.

that I wouldn't do # To make you feel my love,

:20:46.:20:51.

yeah # The storms are raging

:20:52.:21:06.

on the rolling seas # And on that

:21:07.:21:30.

highway of regret # Though winds of change

:21:31.:21:37.

are blowing wild and free # I could make you happy

:21:38.:21:43.

make your dreams come true # I'd go to the ends

:21:44.:21:57.

of this Earth for you Come here. Come out, come up. Can

:21:58.:22:40.

you help get this lady up please because she's crying her eyes out.

:22:41.:22:45.

Come on, my darling. Do you want to meet me at the bottom of the stairs.

:22:46.:22:49.

Get her to walk round here. Come round here my darling. Come up to

:22:50.:22:54.

the big stage. Do you want your hat back, my darling? Do you want your

:22:55.:22:59.

hat back? I can't see... Come on to this big stage. Let me take you to

:23:00.:23:04.

the big one. Let me give him his hat back. I'll give you a quick selfie.

:23:05.:23:10.

Go on then. Hi, my darling. Come on up. Look. It's like horse shit down

:23:11.:23:14.

here. CHEERING What's your name? Maria. I

:23:15.:23:26.

knew your name was going to be Maria. I fucking knew it was going

:23:27.:23:31.

to be Maria. Who is that man down there? My What is his boyfriend.

:23:32.:23:37.

Name? John. Hi, John why are you so emotional? We're from Brazil. You're

:23:38.:23:42.

from Brazil. Did you come here for the festival? Yep. We planned our

:23:43.:23:49.

whole trip around the world to this moment. Oh, you did. Whereabouts in

:23:50.:23:59.

Brazil are you from? Where abouts? Saos Paulo. Nice. How old are you?

:24:00.:24:06.

I'm 26. When did you get here? When did you and John get to Glastonbury?

:24:07.:24:11.

Wednesday. Nice. What has been your favourite moment that's happened?

:24:12.:24:20.

We've seen... A whole lot of bands. Who has been your favourite though?

:24:21.:24:24.

I'm not trying to egg her on to see me. I want to know. I haven't been

:24:25.:24:32.

here. I'm in a tight spot right now. But I've seen... Can you remember or

:24:33.:24:39.

are you a bit flabbergasted. You should have filmed that. Get a

:24:40.:24:43.

selfie. Do you know how to do it? Here we go. Oh, here we go. Ready?

:24:44.:24:57.

Ready? Do you want me to do it? Here we go. Oh, my God, I've just burped.

:24:58.:25:06.

LAUGHTER. I'll see you later Maria. John make

:25:07.:25:10.

sure she gets her spot back. If you follow Liam, my darling. Here we go.

:25:11.:25:15.

I had a dirty burger before I came on, that's why. Hi. Is it good news

:25:16.:25:18.

or bad news, Richard? OKKing. I need your help, everybody.

:25:19.:25:29.

I'm going to hand you over to Richard. My production manager there

:25:30.:25:38.

is an emergency. Can everybody make a path over there. We need someone

:25:39.:25:43.

who is ill out of the audience. OK. So security is going to ask you to

:25:44.:25:47.

make a path. Can you watch what they are doing and make a path, please.

:25:48.:25:52.

Thank you Richard. Keep moving, you lot. I'm going to come and help. I

:25:53.:25:59.

hope they're OK. They are probably moshing too hard to one of my songs

:26:00.:26:03.

or something. Calm down, calm down, do you know what I mean? Where is

:26:04.:26:06.

the security that is going to help. There we go. Has that started. One

:26:07.:26:13.

time when I did a show in Vegas. Any of you been to Las Vegas. What did

:26:14.:26:19.

you think of it? I can't deal with that heat. Oh, my God, I can't deal

:26:20.:26:25.

with the heat. I did a show. You know in the hotels. Are the crowd

:26:26.:26:28.

moving around, guys? Is it working. Is there a path being made? Yeah or

:26:29.:26:33.

no? Are you lot moving out of the way. You are. Fantastic. I did this

:26:34.:26:39.

show in Vegas, right, old grannies. They do old day drinking sessions in

:26:40.:26:45.

the swimming pool in this heat. This granny, 85, came to my show, front

:26:46.:26:53.

row. Pissed rememberself, security had to carry her out. She pissed

:26:54.:27:00.

remember self-the whole way out. In Belfast who women had a catfight.

:27:01.:27:05.

They get drunk at my shows and feel their emotion and then all hell

:27:06.:27:10.

breaks loose. Let me know when the path is done. I don't want to cause

:27:11.:27:15.

a riot or anything with my next one. Am I good to carry on? Am I good to

:27:16.:27:22.

carry on back there? Yeah. All right, I'm going into it because

:27:23.:27:26.

no-one is saying no. All right. Ladies and gentlemen, this is Set

:27:27.:27:28.

Fire to the Rain. CHEERING. # And as it fell you rose

:27:29.:27:41.

to claim it # Until you kissed my

:27:42.:27:47.

lips and you saved me # Without falling

:27:48.:27:57.

to your feet # But there's a side to you that

:27:58.:28:14.

I never knew, never knew # All the things you'd say

:28:15.:28:26.

they were never true, never true # And the games you play

:28:27.:28:29.

you would always win, always win # Watched it pour

:28:30.:28:32.

as I touched your face # Cos I heard

:28:33.:28:39.

it screaming out your name # Close my eyes feel

:28:40.:28:47.

you here forever # You and me together

:28:48.:29:05.

nothing is better # But there's a side to you that

:29:06.:29:07.

I never knew, never knew # And the games you play

:29:08.:29:10.

you would always win, always win # Watched it pour as

:29:11.:29:26.

I touched your face # Cos I heard it

:29:27.:29:30.

screaming out your name # Cos I knew that

:29:31.:29:37.

that was the last time # That heart you caught must be

:29:38.:29:54.

waiting for you # I can't help myself

:29:55.:30:05.

from looking for you # Watched it pour as

:30:06.:30:14.

I touched your face # Cos I heard it screaming

:30:15.:30:22.

out your name, your name # Cos I knew that

:30:23.:30:31.

that was the last time # Everybody loves the things you do

:30:32.:30:47.

# From the way you talk # But if by chance you're here alone

:30:48.:35:02.

# Can I have a moment # Cos I've been by

:35:03.:35:15.

myself all night long # Hoping you're

:35:16.:35:26.

someone I used to know # Let me photograph

:35:27.:35:33.

you in this light # In case it is the last

:35:34.:35:49.

time that we might # Be exactly like we

:35:50.:35:54.

were before we realized # That's what you said,

:35:55.:36:01.

when you left me # Let me photograph

:36:02.:36:38.

you in this light # In case it is the last

:36:39.:36:56.

time that we might # Be exactly like we

:36:57.:37:00.

were before we realized # Let me photograph

:37:01.:37:06.

you in this light # In case it is the last

:37:07.:38:29.

time that we might # Be exactly like we

:38:30.:38:33.

were before we realized Thank you. Thank you so very much.

:38:34.:39:18.

Everybody, give it up for my amazing band. Thank you all so much. Thank

:39:19.:39:24.

you for being a part of this with me, guys. I've been dying for my

:39:25.:39:31.

cider, oh, my days. I'm going to have a few. Have you enjoyed it? I

:39:32.:39:38.

really hope I've contributed towards your Saturday night at Glastonbury,

:39:39.:39:41.

because it's going to be a good one for you, I promise you. I have never

:39:42.:39:47.

been so moved by anything in my life, and I dreaded ever possibly

:39:48.:39:50.

being asked to do this festival, not that I ever thought I would be asked

:39:51.:39:54.

to do it. I was up there on that platform with Emily Eavis last year

:39:55.:39:57.

watching Kanye West, which I thought was amazing. And I've never been so

:39:58.:40:01.

frightened of the crowd I saw last year. As I was watching it, I was

:40:02.:40:07.

like, all right, I will do it! I have always wanted to do this, and

:40:08.:40:11.

the truth is, my whole childhood and a career I have was inspired when I

:40:12.:40:14.

was about seven and I was up there by one of those nights, that tower,

:40:15.:40:20.

I was there and I saw Garbage playing and I was like, oh, my days,

:40:21.:40:26.

I want to do that. I saw Prodigy, I saw Radiohead. That was when I was

:40:27.:40:32.

like, I want to be making music, not necessarily to be up on this stage,

:40:33.:40:35.

but it's amazing the way music brings people together and that's

:40:36.:40:38.

why I am so grateful you came together for me. And this festival

:40:39.:40:43.

is so amazing and magical because of the people that come. You can feel

:40:44.:40:48.

it in the earth here. I am sure you agree that you lose all your in

:40:49.:40:52.

emissions when you are here. And that is you are the people on the

:40:53.:40:55.

other side of the barriers who make this festival so incredible -- you

:40:56.:40:59.

lose your inhibitions. This is the most incredible moment of my life so

:41:00.:41:04.

far, so thank you so much. You have been amazing. I'm not sure if I will

:41:05.:41:08.

remember it. I can't even expand how I feel, it's the most surreal thing

:41:09.:41:12.

I've ever done. It is bizarre. I didn't want to come and now I don't

:41:13.:41:17.

want to go off. This song changed my life. I wrote it when I was

:41:18.:41:20.

obviously miserable, that's nothing new. We all know that. I wanted a

:41:21.:41:26.

friend in this song. I wanted to feel not so alone. And within a

:41:27.:41:30.

couple of hours of starting to write it, feeling sorry for myself, I had

:41:31.:41:35.

a bad cold, all of that, and it did its job for me. The song helped me

:41:36.:41:39.

fix might have a bit. And when I started playing it to people I know

:41:40.:41:43.

and love, they started reacting to this song very differently to

:41:44.:41:46.

anything else I had written. Then I did it on Jools Holland, and it

:41:47.:41:52.

started getting bigger all stop then I did it at the Brit awards and it

:41:53.:41:57.

completely changed my life. Nothing has been the same ever since. This

:41:58.:42:05.

is a song I feel like if anyone remembers me in years to come, this

:42:06.:42:08.

might be the song they do. I just want you to note that I will never,

:42:09.:42:13.

ever forget this moment tonight. I will never forget it. So thank you.

:42:14.:42:18.

I can't believe I haven't cried yet! And I want you to sing it with me,

:42:19.:42:23.

even if you're happy. I'm happy, I just like to moan. And I want us all

:42:24.:42:27.

to sing it. I want us not to be able to hear what each other is doing

:42:28.:42:32.

because it's so loud. Thank you for having me. I hope you have the best

:42:33.:42:36.

time ever at Glastonbury, I really do. It's amazing here. This is

:42:37.:42:38.

:46:56.:47:28.

later. Thank you so much. I did it. I did it. Oh. Look after each other.

:47:29.:47:33.

Sing it for me, let me hear you. CHEERING.

:47:34.:47:44.

:47:59.:48:01.

I remember you said # Sometimes it lasts in love

:48:02.:48:05.

but sometimes it hurts instead CHEERING AND APPLAUSE. There was

:48:06.:49:26.

Adele nailing headlining the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury Festival. I

:49:27.:49:30.

hope she he cherishes every single second of that performance. Knowing

:49:31.:49:33.

how much it meanted to her from the chat we did before hand. This was

:49:34.:49:38.

her moment. She said that if she did it OK tonight then that would be as

:49:39.:49:42.

good as it ever gets. This is like the pinnacle of her career. If she

:49:43.:49:46.

messed it up it would be devastating. She said tonight was

:49:47.:49:50.

the moment in her career? It's extraordinary. I've never seen a

:49:51.:49:55.

headline act like. That there has never been a greater connection, has

:49:56.:50:00.

there, between the audience and headline audience. I have never seen

:50:01.:50:04.

anything like. She wanted the runway, get out and talk to the

:50:05.:50:07.

audience and do everything on her shows and have that connection.

:50:08.:50:15.

Somewhere as huge as that d and to have that intimacy, incredible

:50:16.:50:18.

glchlt you have a heart of stone did you almost get emotional at any

:50:19.:50:22.

point? There Were real moments. All the torch lights. I liked that. Just

:50:23.:50:25.

the torch lights? No. It was amazing. Never seen anything quite

:50:26.:50:29.

like it. That control and connection with the crowd. Clara is still down

:50:30.:50:36.

there somewhere. Clara. The crowd are still singing along. Adele,

:50:37.:50:44.

headlining the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury, Saturday 2016. She left

:50:45.:50:48.

a piece of her with us emotionally and physically with these song

:50:49.:50:52.

lyrics she sprayed into the crowd. She took us on a journey from that

:50:53.:50:57.

seven-year-old girl she told us about who came here inspired by

:50:58.:51:00.

Radiohead to a woman fully in control of her career. In control of

:51:01.:51:07.

this crowd. Very happy that I gave you that swearing warning. Like

:51:08.:51:11.

said, with Adele what you see is what you get. She gives all of

:51:12.:51:15.

herself to us. We were truly, I think we were truly blessed tonight.

:51:16.:51:20.

It was really overwhelming to watch her, actually. Coming out I don't

:51:21.:51:26.

think she could believe that many people came to here her. It was

:51:27.:51:29.

evident in what we all just shared now. I'm sorry, back to you, Adele.

:51:30.:51:38.

You have our hearts. Thank you very much. She did say, Adele was like -

:51:39.:51:44.

I'm in and out. I'm coming to do it unless it goes well and then I will

:51:45.:51:48.

have a few drinks. What do you reckon she drinks? We know. She was

:51:49.:51:52.

drinking red wine and Coca-Cola mixed. I'm sure she is probably

:51:53.:51:57.

doing the same thing. Maybe. It was quite extraordinary, wasn't it,

:51:58.:52:00.

really. At one point she said - I wrote this song when I was 16. I

:52:01.:52:05.

never thought I would be on the Main Stage at Glastonbury do it. I wander

:52:06.:52:10.

if it changed the nature of headline acts much we are used to a big rock

:52:11.:52:18.

show and a finishing with a guy on a piano. It was very different.

:52:19.:52:22.

Amazing. Wonderful. OK. We have a lot more for you to enjoy tonight.

:52:23.:52:28.

We have. Acoustic sets. We have different artists performing here.

:52:29.:52:32.

We will go now to another of the headliners this is James Blake.

:52:33.:53:13.

# When I'm speaking my mind # I hope I'm right when I'm speaking

:53:14.:53:23.

:02:36.:03:28.

Justin Vernon. That was James Blake, with Justin

:03:29.:03:48.

Vernon, as he says, who was here last year. On the Pyramid Stage. He

:03:49.:03:54.

was sort of duetting with Kanye West, but Kanye West would not let

:03:55.:03:58.

him stand at the front and pushed into the shadows. You had no idea he

:03:59.:04:03.

was there. James Blake was headlining on the Park Stage. I know

:04:04.:04:10.

you have this heart of stone, did that performance do anything to you?

:04:11.:04:15.

Well, I get all this stick for having a heart of stone. Anyone who

:04:16.:04:18.

knows me knows I am a deeply emotional person. Last night, Jo

:04:19.:04:22.

Whiley said it is freezing, put plenty of layers on. And look at me

:04:23.:04:28.

and look at her! When the songs are on, a load of willing acolytes, and

:04:29.:04:35.

swayed her in cloth is. Adele said to me, won't you freezing last

:04:36.:04:40.

night? Yeah, I was. And all the clothes get whipped off before we

:04:41.:04:44.

come back on, leaving Jo looking diaphanous and me looking like I

:04:45.:04:50.

have come to fix the heating. White, let's go to a band who are freezing

:04:51.:04:56.

because they have been waiting ages. He is fabulous.

:04:57.:05:39.

# a fresh one, I said you need a real one, a strong one. # a fresh

:05:40.:05:54.

one. # Baby, I'm feeling sexual.

:05:55.:06:01.

# if I dance, I'm warning you. # baby, I'm feeling super cool.

:06:02.:06:10.

# you know me baby, I'm feeling brand-new. # I'm feeling brand-new.

:06:11.:06:23.

# I said, what did he do? # tell me, did you so you dreams?

:06:24.:06:31.

# you know what I mean? # I said, what did he do?

:06:32.:06:34.

# I can tell you didn't love you write.

:06:35.:06:39.

# come on, if you want to have fun tonight, you need a real one, a

:06:40.:06:42.

strong one. # a fresh one.

:06:43.:06:48.

# I said you need a real one, a strong one.

:06:49.:06:57.

# no ex-1, so honey, don't look no more.

:06:58.:07:05.

# baby, I'm feeling sexual. # if I dance, I'm wanting you.

:07:06.:07:14.

# baby, I'm feeling super cool. # you know me baby, yeah.

:07:15.:07:20.

# I say, I want to boogie tonight, come on, baby, let's boogie tonight.

:07:21.:07:26.

# I want to boogie tonight, come on, baby, let's boogie tonight.

:07:27.:07:33.

# I want to boogie tonight, come on, baby, let's boogie tonight.

:07:34.:07:41.

# baby, I'm feeling sexual. # if I dance, I'm wanting you.

:07:42.:07:49.

# baby, I'm feeling super cool. # you know me, baby, I'm feeling

:07:50.:07:55.

brand-new. That was great! Moving on Astroturf

:07:56.:08:04.

is not easy. I know! Tiggs Da Author, and that was brand-new. And

:08:05.:08:10.

respect to George on the guitar. Nice work, my friend. Thank you very

:08:11.:08:16.

much. Now we are going to go to M83. I have never been sure how to say

:08:17.:08:23.

their name. We will go to them anyway.

:08:24.:09:03.

# The night city grows Look and see her eyes, they glow

:09:04.:09:41.

# The city is my church (city is my church)

:09:42.:10:42.

That sounded great, euphoric. It did! You look angelic tonight in

:10:43.:13:07.

this diaphanous frock. One of the drivers was ferrying us about, and

:13:08.:13:10.

he has fallen about -- in love with an angel at Gloucester bridge. He

:13:11.:13:15.

said she is the most beautiful girl I have ever seen, and she drives a

:13:16.:13:21.

tractor -- at Glastonbury. I thought it was a man! I thought he said it

:13:22.:13:27.

was a man dressed as an angel. No, he has fallen in love with a

:13:28.:13:31.

beautiful girl who drives a tractor. And in Glastonbury at the moment,

:13:32.:13:35.

with the mud underfoot, that is your dream date, a beautiful girl who has

:13:36.:13:42.

her own tractor. I am still contemplating Adele. Shouldn't cry

:13:43.:13:45.

in the whole of that performance. Just at the end. I think she now has

:13:46.:13:49.

rivers of is not pouring down her face. I am sure she is! Now to

:13:50.:13:58.

another semi unpleasant image, a propensity of bottoms in this next

:13:59.:14:03.

item, so I've been told. We are going to block nine now, beware.

:14:04.:14:09.

I thought we were supposed to be in Somerset. This doesn't look like

:14:10.:14:16.

Somerset. This is the heart of New York City, can't you tell! We took

:14:17.:14:23.

the gays, the transsexuals, the tran vestites and the butcher boys and we

:14:24.:14:31.

are giving a heighted queer experience. There will be a change

:14:32.:14:38.

happening in those dark corners. Will I experience changers? You have

:14:39.:14:42.

to get ready to be torn to pieces. Where are you taking me? The inner

:14:43.:14:51.

sanctum. I can't wait. Let's do it. My word, it's cramped in here now.

:14:52.:14:56.

These are all the dancers. We have been rehearsing for weeks. This

:14:57.:14:59.

isn't something we don't do all the time. It's a weekly thing for all

:15:00.:15:03.

these people. Do any of you have boring offices jobs? I'm an

:15:04.:15:09.

educational recruitful consultant. Boring job. What does it mean Glason

:15:10.:15:16.

burpy is the Oscars for drag artists. We want to make gay culture

:15:17.:15:24.

more mainstream. We want to make the world a better place. World peace

:15:25.:15:32.

everyone. World peace. Wow! There's a lot of meat.

:15:33.:15:37.

Guys, what's good today? The sirloin or prime rib? Probably the beef

:15:38.:15:48.

livers. It sounds like quite a feast. Welcome! It's pumping babe,

:15:49.:15:55.

get in there. This is the kind of place that

:15:56.:16:13.

awakens something inside of everybody who comes here. What does

:16:14.:16:17.

it awaken inside of you, that's the question. It's like nothing I've

:16:18.:16:23.

ever seen before. You can see it again and again and again this

:16:24.:16:28.

weekend at Glastonbury. Why wouldn't you.

:16:29.:16:34.

I've seen a lot of things, a lot of Glastonburies in my time. Nothing

:16:35.:16:41.

quite like what is going on in there. I have made new friends,

:16:42.:16:48.

learnt a lot about gay Glastonbury and maybe a little bit about myself.

:16:49.:16:52.

There was a lot of bottoms going on there. A lot of bottoms. Bottom

:16:53.:17:01.

envy. They were peachy. Pert. Never seen so many in a confined space

:17:02.:17:08.

since I visited the production office with Jools Holland. They were

:17:09.:17:14.

peachy. What did you enbe joyed? Thes the Last Shadow Puppets they

:17:15.:17:20.

did a phenomenal version of Moon Age Day Dream by Bowie. One of my

:17:21.:17:28.

favourite tracks of Ziggy Stardust. That was a ept moment for What

:17:29.:17:35.

about. Me. Bass ill Brush. I watched the performance and met and chatted

:17:36.:17:44.

to him. A career high. Adele Adele and Basil brush. I cons. The Kidz

:17:45.:17:55.

Field seeing how happy they were. Dynamo. It was good going there,

:17:56.:18:00.

seeing another bit of Glastonbury. Next we are going to go to Fat Boy

:18:01.:18:06.

Slim on the John Peel Stage. # Praise you.

:18:07.:19:16.

these days, The Last Shadow Puppets. It is extraordinary, talk about

:35:18.:35:21.

growing up in public. I remember the shy lad who used to front the Arctic

Monkeys, and now he is like a bull-fighter, short cutting the

ring. We are going next to somebody we are both enormous fans of. I

think he was ailing a bit, not feeling well today. He is probably

tucked up in bed now watching this. This is John grant.

# Back then I often found myself Driving on the road at night,

# I was getting warm, but now I'm getting colder,

# And I stomp my feet, demanding like a child.

:37:23.:37:26.

# I hope you get everything you wanted, boy

:37:27.:37:29.

# I hope you conquer the world and turn it into your toy

We all love John Grant. The pale green ghosts in question were a row

:41:16.:41:28.

of trees he used to drive past going home. He makes at interesting music,

:41:29.:41:33.

and yet he is best mates with Elton John now. Elton John, if you're

:41:34.:41:37.

watching, I love that you are mates with John Grant, because we love

:41:38.:41:41.

him. Didn't he perform at the Royal Albert Hall and Kylie came on stage

:41:42.:41:47.

couple of weeks ago? John Grant is fantastic. Now someone who flew in

:41:48.:41:53.

to perform at Glastonbury from Germany, this is Tom Odell.

:41:54.:42:06.

How are you doing today, Gloucester bridge? Thank you so much for coming

don't like me # Why do you wanna be one of them

:45:03.:45:10.

# But I can't help it, I don't know how

# I guess I'll always be hanging round with the wrong crowd

somebody # That my mother would like

CHEERING AND In case you were thinking what to

:48:10.:48:24.

wear tomorrow? It would be warm at this time of night. That was Tom

:48:25.:48:39.

Odell a big fan of Elton John. He has given him a lot of advice,

:48:40.:48:45.

mentor as in John Grant. We will be back tomorrow at 6. 30pm. Tomorrow

:48:46.:48:57.

is the Legend Spot. ELO. We have an acoustic performance from Cindy

:48:58.:49:04.

Lauper. I hope to God the sun shines when ELO do Mr Blue Sky. We will see

:49:05.:49:09.

you tomorrow. We will leave you with music from The Other Stayed and New

:49:10.:49:12.

Order. Yes. # Every time I think of you

:49:13.:50:37.

# I feel shot right through with a bolt of blue

:50:38.:50:40.

# It's no problem of mine # But it's a problem I find

:50:41.:50:47.

# Living a life that I can't leave behind

:50:48.:50:50.

# But there's no sense in telling me # The wisdom of the fool won't set

:50:51.:50:54.

you free # That's the way that it goes

:50:55.:50:59.

# And it's what nobody knows # Well every day my confusion grows

:51:00.:51:18.

# Every time I see you falling # I get down on my knees and pray

:51:19.:51:29.

# I'm waiting for that final moment # You say the words that I can't say

:51:30.:51:49.

# I feel fine and I feel good # I'm feeling like I never should

:51:50.:51:58.

# Whenever I get this way # I just don't know what to say

:51:59.:52:04.

# Why can't we be ourselves like we were yesterday

:52:05.:52:08.

# I'm not sure what this could mean # I don't think you're what you seem

:52:09.:52:13.

# I do admit to myself # That if I hurt someone else

:52:14.:52:21.

# Then I'll never see just what we're meant to be

:52:22.:52:37.

# Every time I see you falling # I get down on my knees and pray

:52:38.:52:53.

# I'm waiting for that final moment # You say the words that I can't say

:52:54.:52:58.

# Every time I see you falling # I get down on my knees and pray

:52:59.:53:03.

# Waiting for that final moment # You say the words that I can't say

:53:04.:53:19.

... # Every time I see you falling

:53:20.:53:53.

# I get down on my knees and pray # I'm waiting for that final moment

:53:54.:54:02.

# You say the words that I can't say # Every time I see you falling

:54:03.:54:09.

# I get down on my knees and pray # I'm waiting for that final moment

:54:10.:54:20.

# You say the words that I can't say...

:54:21.:54:34.

# # Love will tear us apart again.

:54:35.:57:36.

# You cry out in your sleep # All my failings exposed

:57:37.:57:44.

# And there's a taste in my mouth # As desperation takes hold

:57:45.:57:49.

# Just that something so good # Just can't function no more

:57:50.:57:52.

# But love, love will tear us apart again

:57:53.:57:58.

# Love, love will tear us apart again

:57:59.:58:05.

# Love, love will tear us apart again

:58:06.:58:13.

# Love, love will tear us apart again

:58:14.:59:01.

Thank you Glastonbury! It's been an honour and a pleasure.
