What is it that people are looking for on New Year's Eve?

0:00:030:00:07

The great explorers of all time, the great seekers -

0:00:070:00:10

what is it they're trying to find?

0:00:100:00:12

Well, normally, apart from a bit of fake snow

0:00:120:00:14

and a few decorations, the thing they're after...

0:00:140:00:18

is a very nice party to go to.

0:00:180:00:20

A nice place in the warm, where you can have a knees-up.

0:00:200:00:23

Why go out into the horrid cold when you can be here, with us,

0:00:230:00:28

snuggled up at another lovely Hootenanny?

0:00:280:00:31

Come into the room where the whole world is ready to enjoy itself!

0:00:310:00:36

CHEERING

0:00:360:00:40

This is much better!

0:00:420:00:43

I'm feeling good!

0:00:450:00:47

I think we should start with a 17th-century folk song.

MUSIC: "The Maiden's Lament"

# One morning

0:01:160:01:17

# Very early

0:01:170:01:18

# One morning in the spring

0:01:180:01:21

# I heard a maid in Bedlam

0:01:210:01:23

# Who mournfully did sing

0:01:230:01:25

# Her chains she rattled on her hands

0:01:260:01:28

# While sweetly thus sung she

0:01:280:01:31

# She went, "I love my love

0:01:310:01:33

# "And I know my love loves me

0:01:330:01:36

# "Cruel were the parents

0:01:360:01:38

# "That took my love to sea

0:01:380:01:41

# "Cruel were the ships that stole my love from me

0:01:410:01:47

# "But I love his parents

0:01:470:01:48

# "Since they're his Though they've ruined me

0:01:480:01:51

# "Now I love my love

0:01:510:01:53

# "And I know my love loves me

0:01:530:01:56

# "Should it please the pitying powers

0:01:560:01:59

# "To call me to the sky

0:01:590:02:01

# "I'd gaze around with piercing eyes

0:02:020:02:04

# "Where I my love might spy

0:02:040:02:07

# "Unhappy maiden

0:02:070:02:09

# "That love I will never, never see

0:02:090:02:11

# "Oh, I love my love

0:02:110:02:14

# "And I know my love loves me

0:02:140:02:17

# "I'll make a strawy garland

0:02:170:02:19

# "I'll make it wondrous fine

0:02:190:02:22

# "Roses, a-lilies and daisies

0:02:220:02:24

# "Mix in the eglantine

0:02:240:02:26

# "I'll present it to my love

0:02:270:02:29

# "When he returns from sea

0:02:290:02:32

# "I love my love

0:02:320:02:34

# "And I know my love loves me

0:02:340:02:36

# "If I were a little bird

0:03:170:03:19

# "I'd build upon his breast

0:03:190:03:21

# "If I were a nightingale

0:03:210:03:24

# "I'd sing my love to rest

0:03:240:03:26

# "To gaze upon his lovely eyes

0:03:270:03:29

# "Oh, my reward would be

0:03:290:03:31

# "For I love my love

0:03:310:03:34

# "And I know my love loves me. #

Thanks to The Hives.

Thank you, The Hives.

0:12:170:12:19

Go Right Ahead, from Lex Hives, their album. The Hives!

0:12:190:12:22

More from them. And I shall be finding out

0:12:220:12:24

exactly what they do on New Year's Eve in Sweden.

0:12:240:12:27

Who can imagine?

0:12:270:12:28

But let's immediately go, as we approach the end of this year,

0:12:280:12:31

and let's think...let's look back

0:12:310:12:33

with some of the marvellous people in this room.

0:12:330:12:35

Fiona Bruce, you've joined us!

0:12:350:12:37

Is this your husband? May I sit on his lap?

0:12:370:12:38

-This is my husband, Nigel, yes.

-Ah, thanks very much.

0:12:380:12:41

You never thought this was going to happen, but it has.

0:12:410:12:43

So I hope the News Of The World are catching...

0:12:430:12:46

Oh, they've gone, haven't they?

0:12:460:12:47

What was the happiest news that you heard? You see all the news -

0:12:470:12:50

what was the most cheerful bit of news

0:12:500:12:52

from this year that's nearly finished?

0:12:520:12:53

Oh, it's all been so grim, but I guess the Olympics.

0:12:530:12:56

-Marvellous.

-Andy Murray winning, that was fantastic.

0:12:560:12:58

-Lovely. Happy moment.

-Definitely the highlight of the year.

0:12:580:13:01

Anything you're looking forward to next year?

0:13:010:13:03

-Or anything you're going to avoid? Have you made any resolutions?

-Er...

0:13:030:13:06

the thing I would look forward to most

0:13:060:13:09

is our new puppy not weeing in the house.

0:13:090:13:11

-That's right. What sort of puppy is it?

-It's an Irish terrier.

0:13:110:13:15

-Excellent. Is it muzzled and everything?

-Aim high, aim high.

0:13:150:13:18

-Yeah, nice.

-"Not world peace, my puppy not weeing!"

0:13:180:13:21

-Yeah, yeah.

-LAUGHTER

0:13:210:13:22

Taking the big view there.

0:13:220:13:24

Well, just, you know, kind of... keeping it real.

0:13:240:13:26

Now, John, looking back, now we're nearly at the very last moments,

0:13:260:13:29

what's been the highlights for you this year?

0:13:290:13:31

I think seeing you sat on Nigel's knee.

0:13:310:13:34

Cos, to be honest,

0:13:340:13:35

I've never seen a man look more uncomfortable than that.

0:13:350:13:37

-Which one?

-He doesn't know where to put his hands -

0:13:370:13:40

-he looks like he's working you.

-Quite right, too!

0:13:400:13:42

LAUGHTER

0:13:420:13:43

And so I can see that as the highlight of the year.

0:13:430:13:46

Is it OK back there for you?

0:13:460:13:47

-It's going very nicely.

-Good. Excellent.

0:13:470:13:49

Keeping a low profile, as always.

0:13:490:13:51

Um, and what about next year?

0:13:510:13:52

Any resolutions you've made, looking forward?

0:13:520:13:54

Er, yeah, I've decided, this year, just to get fat.

0:13:540:13:57

Just to spend all year getting as fat as I possibly can.

0:13:570:14:00

Very good idea.

0:14:000:14:01

And throwing pies at thin people.

0:14:010:14:03

Yes! Yes! Ah, yes! Yes, yes!

0:14:030:14:05

-You live and you die - get fat.

-Excellent.

0:14:050:14:07

John, I'll be talking to you, but I'll come back and see you again.

0:14:070:14:10

-Happy New Year to you both in a moment.

-Aww...

0:14:100:14:12

Steady, steady. And Hootenanny, I go over this way.

0:14:120:14:15

Thank you for joining us, Fiona Bruce and John Bishop.

0:14:150:14:18

Yes, I'll be joining various people as the evening goes on,

0:14:180:14:20

and I think I'll hang on to this microphone, cos it's a bit louder.

0:14:200:14:23

And I'm going to take it over here.

0:14:230:14:25

We now have a legendary soul guest.

0:14:250:14:27

She's going to now do her wonderful hit that was originally out in 1966.

0:14:270:14:31

It's still a ravishing piece of music. It's Let Me Down Easy.

0:14:310:14:35

This is Bettye LaVette!

# Say hello once in a while

0:15:370:15:41

# When you pass by me, baby, baby

0:15:420:15:48

# Does it hurt so much to smile?

0:15:490:15:52

# We promised that we'd still be friends

0:15:520:15:58

# Till the very end

0:15:580:16:01

# I'm begging you, baby, please

0:16:030:16:07

# Let me down easy

0:16:080:16:11

# I remember at the start

0:16:380:16:42

# Said it was so nice, dear

0:16:440:16:48

# I never thought we'd have to part

0:16:500:16:53

# But now it's...

0:16:540:16:55

# You tell me it's all over

0:16:570:17:00

# All we've got to do is say goodbye

0:17:010:17:04

# I'm calling you, Daddy, please

0:17:060:17:11

# Let me down easy

0:17:120:17:14

# Let me down easy

0:17:170:17:20

# Let me down easy

0:17:220:17:26

# Don't turn your back on me so fast

0:17:270:17:31

# Let me down easy

0:17:320:17:36

# Please

0:17:360:17:37

# Please

0:17:390:17:41

# Please

0:17:420:17:44

# Please

0:17:450:17:47

# Please

CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

0:25:570:26:01

The wonderful Lianne La Havas with Cow Cow Boogie.

0:26:030:26:07

We will be hearing more

0:26:070:26:08

from the wonderful Lianne La Havas later on.

0:26:080:26:10

So now I'm going to barge in onto this corner of the room for a moment

0:26:120:26:17

and see who we've got over here.

0:26:170:26:18

We appear to have just in this corner Peter Capaldi

0:26:180:26:21

and Jon Culshaw and others, I've noted,

0:26:210:26:23

but I'm just going to barge into you first of all.

0:26:230:26:27

Peter, it's been a great...

0:26:270:26:28

very good newsroom stuff going on there,

0:26:280:26:30

but looking back over the year,

0:26:300:26:32

-what's your highlights, would you say?

-The highlights?

0:26:320:26:34

The highlight for me is, I got to make a film with Angelina Jolie

0:26:340:26:37

and then made a film with Brad Pitt.

0:26:370:26:39

And did you become friends with them? Did they speak to you?

0:26:390:26:42

-Not at all. No.

-LAUGHTER

0:26:420:26:44

And also, I felt extremely ugly for the whole of the year.

0:26:440:26:47

But it was lovely. No, actually, they were really, really nice.

0:26:470:26:50

Great. They haven't come with you this evening, have they?

0:26:500:26:52

I think I'm going on to theirs tonight after this, yes.

0:26:520:26:55

-Excellent.

-They need a babysitter.

0:26:550:26:56

Very good. We've heard it here first. Thank you very much, Peter.

0:26:560:26:59

So now, Jon, it's very nice to have you here in this Hootenanny.

0:26:590:27:02

-Hootenanny!

-CHEERING

0:27:020:27:05

Looking back over the year, who are the people you'd like to...

0:27:050:27:08

who are the people you've noticed that have come into your radar?

0:27:080:27:11

The thing I'm looking forward to in 2013, in November,

0:27:110:27:15

astronomically, in the night sky, there's going to be a comet,

0:27:150:27:17

and it's going to be called a sungrazer, cos it's very near the sun,

0:27:170:27:20

which means it might be very, very bright and be brighter

0:27:200:27:23

than the full moon, or it might melt completely and just turn into mush.

0:27:230:27:26

-Nice.

-But maybe Jonathan Cainer can tell us more about that.

0:27:260:27:28

I think he might do, yes.

0:27:280:27:30

Any politicians come into your zone this year?

0:27:300:27:32

-(AS BORIS JOHNSON)

-Well, wonderful Mayor Boris Johnson

0:27:320:27:34

and the wonderful success that was the London 2012 Olympic Games,

0:27:340:27:38

where the nation came together in the Olympic Stadium

0:27:380:27:41

to boo George Osborne. Huzzah!

0:27:410:27:43

LAUGHTER AND APPLAUSE

0:27:430:27:45

Very good to see. Well, I well be back.

0:27:450:27:48

I might lunge in at you fellows again.

0:27:480:27:50

Thank you very much for joining us,

0:27:500:27:51

Peter Capaldi and the wonderful Jon Culshaw!

0:27:510:27:54

CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

0:27:540:27:56

0:27:560:27:59

0:27:590:28:02

Now, joined by a man who's had amazing things this year -

0:28:020:28:04

an incredible opera, incredible records, incredible music.

0:28:040:28:08

He's joined by Richard Russell and Damon Albarn.

0:28:080:28:11

APPLAUSE

0:33:550:33:56

# As I was going over the far-famed Kerry mountains

0:34:030:34:08

# I met with Captain Farrell

0:34:080:34:09

# And his money he was counting

0:34:090:34:11

# I first produced me pistol

0:34:110:34:13

# And I then produced me rapier

0:34:130:34:15

# Saying stand and deliver

0:34:150:34:18

# For you are a bold deceiver

0:34:180:34:20

# Musha ring dumma do dumma daa

0:34:200:34:21

# Wack fall the daddy-oh

0:34:220:34:24

# Wack fall the daddy-oh

0:34:240:34:26

# There's whiskey in the jar

0:34:260:34:28

# I counted out his money and it made a pretty penny

0:34:280:34:31

# I put it in my pocket and I took it home to Jenny

0:34:310:34:36

# She sighed and she swore

0:34:360:34:38

# She never would deceive me

0:34:380:34:40

# But the devil take the women for they never can be easy

0:34:400:34:44

# Musha ring dumma do dumma daa

0:34:440:34:45

# Wack fall the daddy-oh

0:34:460:34:49

# Wack fall the daddy-oh

0:34:490:34:50

# There's whiskey in the jar

0:34:500:34:52

# Well, in the morning just before I rose to travel

0:34:520:34:56

# Up comes a band of pipers and likewise, Captain Farrell

0:34:560:35:00

# I first produced me pistol for me rapier she had stolen

0:35:000:35:04

# I could not shoot the water so a prisoner I was taken

0:35:040:35:08

# Musha ring dumma do dumma daa

0:35:080:35:10

# Wack fall the daddy-oh

0:35:100:35:13

# Wack fall the daddy-oh

0:35:130:35:15

# There's whiskey in the jar

0:35:150:35:17

# If there's anyone can aid me

0:35:170:35:19

# It's me brother in the Army

0:35:190:35:20

# If I can find his station in Cork or in Killarney

0:35:200:35:25

# And if he'll go with me We'll go roving in Kilkenny

0:35:250:35:28

# And I'm sure he'll treat me better than me sly and thieving Jenny

0:35:280:35:33

# Musha ring dumma do dumma daa

0:35:330:35:34

# Wack fall the daddy-oh

0:35:350:35:37

# Wack fall the daddy-oh

0:35:370:35:39

# There's whiskey in the jar

0:35:390:35:41

# Cos some take delight in the carriages a-rolling

0:35:410:35:45

# And others take delight in the hurling and the bowling

0:35:450:35:49

# But I take delight in the juice of the barley

0:35:490:35:53

# And courting pretty fair maids in the morning, bright and early

0:35:530:35:57

# Musha ring dumma do dumma daa

0:35:570:35:59

# Wack fall the daddy-oh

0:35:590:36:02

# Wack fall the daddy-oh

CHEERING

0:36:130:36:15

What joy! The Dubliners!

0:36:240:36:26

What a lovely sound that was. You missed over here,

0:36:290:36:31

-everybody over here was having a knees up to that, weren't you?

-Yeah!

0:36:310:36:37

Whiskey In The Jar. So let's have a chat.

0:36:370:36:39

Midnight is getting close, so there's not a lot of time,

0:36:390:36:42

but I'm going to lunge in quickly. Where's me microphone? Oh, it's in my pocket, silly me!

0:36:420:36:46

Paloma Faith, lovely to see you.

0:36:460:36:48

-Sitting next to Ruby, Roland and Leanne. Were you all having a knees up to The Dubliners?

-Amazing.

0:36:500:36:55

Yeah, I'm a big fan of all of theirs.

0:36:550:36:57

And also quite nervous because one of my eyelashes

0:36:570:37:00

just fell off just as I was told I had to talk to you.

0:37:000:37:03

So if anybody is wondering why one eye looks bigger than the other,

0:37:030:37:07

-on television at home, that's why!

-It's been a fantastic year for you.

0:37:070:37:12

You've gone from strength to strength.

0:37:120:37:13

You must have enjoyed it tremendously. What about next year?

0:37:130:37:16

Any predictions for next year?

0:37:160:37:18

Next year, I predict that the world will become more full of love

0:37:180:37:23

-and joy, and there won't be any wars any more.

-Rachel, what do you say?

0:37:230:37:27

-Yes?

-I'm putting it into the ether.

-Yes, a good idea.

0:37:270:37:30

We are all for that. OK, I'm going to leave you with these people here who will

0:37:300:37:34

-take good care of you.

-They're all amazing.

0:37:340:37:35

And you can have a little amazing corner here. I'm going over here. Do you know who we have there?

0:37:350:37:39

Somebody over there has been a film star, sold 60, 70 million records.

0:37:390:37:43

That's a record for everybody in Britain

0:37:430:37:45

-and most of their friends who live in Belgium.

-Tell us who it is.

0:37:450:37:48

-I will tell you who it is. Shall I tell you?

-Yeah!

-Are you ready?

-I'm ready!

0:37:480:37:52

-It is the legend that I have longed to work with all my life, are you ready?

-Tell me!

0:37:520:37:55

It's Petula Clark!

0:37:550:37:57

CHEERING

0:37:570:37:59

# You're the only one that I rely on

0:38:130:38:18

# The shoulder there for me to cry on

0:38:180:38:22

# And the hours alone that I'm without you

0:38:230:38:27

# All I ever do is think about you

0:38:280:38:33

# No-one else could be so understanding

0:38:350:38:38

# Even though my love is so demanding

0:38:380:38:43

# Every time you look at me

0:38:430:38:44

# Then you know you we'll both agree

0:38:440:38:46

# That no other love could be

0:38:460:38:50

# I couldn't live without your love

0:38:500:38:54

# No, now I know you're really mine

0:38:540:38:58

# I've got to have you all the time Yeah

0:38:580:39:06

# I didn't like you much when I first met you

0:39:080:39:12

# But somehow I couldn't quite forget you

0:39:120:39:16

# Said you didn't want a friend or lover

0:39:160:39:20

# That your life was happy with another

0:39:200:39:23

# But as time went by My love grew stronger

0:39:230:39:27

# Knew that I just couldn't wait any longer

0:39:270:39:30

# For I couldn't let you go

0:39:300:39:33

# And I had to tell you so that our love was so beautiful

0:39:330:39:38

# I couldn't live without your love

0:39:380:39:43

# Now I know you're really mine

0:39:430:39:47

# I've got to have you all the time

0:39:470:39:51

# Oh

0:39:510:39:56

# Baby

0:39:560:40:00

# Do, do, ooh, ooh

0:40:000:40:01

# Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh

0:40:030:40:05

# Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh

0:40:050:40:09

# Now the tears are gone and I'm not crying

0:40:110:40:15

# When you say you love me You're not lying

0:40:150:40:19

# So, if people wanna stare I don't really care

0:40:190:40:23

# Just so long as you are there

0:40:230:40:26

# I couldn't live without your love

0:40:260:40:31

# Now I know you're really mine

0:40:310:40:35

# I've got to have you all the time

0:40:350:40:39

# Wo-ah, I

0:40:390:40:42

# Couldn't live without your love

0:40:420:40:46

# Now I know you're really mine

0:40:460:40:49

# I've got to have you all the time

0:40:490:40:52

One more time, Jools!

0:40:520:40:54

# I couldn't live without your love

0:40:550:41:01

# Now I know you're really mine

0:41:010:41:04

# I've got to have you

0:41:040:41:07

# All the

0:41:070:41:10

# Time. #

A dream come true for me and the orchestra, the wonderful Petula Clark!

0:41:230:41:28

So, from one of the biggest selling artists of all time,

0:41:310:41:34

not that it's about numbers, to the biggest selling artist of 2012.

0:41:340:41:38

And there's not a lot of time left for that to change!

0:41:380:41:40

I'm delighted to welcome into this room the wonderful Emeli Sande!

0:41:400:41:45

# Do you recognise me

0:42:190:42:22

# In the flashing lights?

0:42:220:42:25

# I try to keep my heart clean

0:42:260:42:29

# But I can't get it right

0:42:290:42:32

# Will you recognise me

0:42:330:42:37

# When I'm lying on my back?

0:42:370:42:39

# Something's gone inside me

0:42:410:42:44

# And I can't get it back

0:42:440:42:47

# Oh, heaven

0:42:490:42:50

# Oh, heaven

0:42:500:42:52

# I wake with good intentions

0:42:520:42:56

# But the day It always lasts too long

0:42:560:43:01

# Then I'm gone

0:43:280:43:30

# Then I'm gone

0:43:300:43:32

# So, will you recognise me

0:43:320:43:36

# When I'm stealing from the poor?

0:43:360:43:38

# You're not gonna like me

0:43:400:43:43

# I'm nothing like before

0:43:430:43:48

# Will you recognise me

0:43:480:43:50

# When I lose another friend?

0:43:500:43:52

# Will you learn to leave me

0:43:550:43:58

# Or give me one more try again?

0:43:580:44:01

# Oh, heaven

0:44:030:44:04

# Oh, heaven

0:44:040:44:06

CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

0:45:490:45:53

Emeli Sande and Heaven.

0:45:580:46:00

What a pleasure it is to have that sensational woman in this room.

0:46:020:46:06

What a myriad of stars are in. In a while,

0:46:060:46:07

Emeli is going to do one of her favourite old standards over at the piano.

0:46:070:46:11

But if you are at home, or if you are in the room, it is

0:46:110:46:14

very soon going to be that moment when this year disappears

0:46:140:46:18

and the new one comes to join us.

0:46:180:46:20

So, wherever you are in the city, in the country, in the pub,

0:46:200:46:23

in the shed, or your bed, get yourselves ready. But not quite.

0:46:230:46:26

We have time for one last song this year.

0:46:260:46:28

And the man to give it to us is the amazingly talented,

0:46:280:46:32

the magnificent Roland Gift!

It's all our own golden age of song. And so, more people...

1:03:421:03:48

I'm going to find out what happens in Sweden in a moment

1:03:481:03:51

by asking them, but first, let's hear more of their brilliant music. The Hives.

Thank you!

1:07:231:07:24

Thank you!

Hate To Say I Told You So, The Hives.

1:07:401:07:43

CHEERING

1:07:431:07:44

I think that also answers our question, what do people do in Sweden on New Year's Eve.

1:07:441:07:48

Pretty much the same as they do here.

1:07:481:07:50

So I just wonder how John Bishop over there... Earlier on...

1:07:501:07:56

He was predicting you would say certain things. Any response to him?

1:07:561:08:00

Yeah, what he said is, that I was going to say Hootenanny and...

1:08:001:08:04

I haven't said it yet! I've got to build up to it in a very slow, deliberate way.

1:08:061:08:11

-Are we ready? One, two, three - Hootenanny! ALL:

-Hootenanny!

1:08:111:08:18

Thank you so much. Very enlightening. Have you seen The Hives before?

1:08:181:08:21

-I've only seen them on your show before.

-Excellent.

-I've been absolutely...

1:08:211:08:24

They dress like they come from another century, but they look fantastic.

1:08:241:08:27

Yes, lovely. Have you been to Sweden, on New Year's Eve?

1:08:271:08:30

-If everyone dresses like that, I will definitely be there.

-They do?

-They do?

1:08:301:08:34

Fiona, how is it going over here now? Happy New Year.

1:08:341:08:36

-Oh, thank you very much.

-Has everybody been behaving themselves?

1:08:361:08:39

-Well, John's a bit, you know...

-Yes.

-John and his mates.

1:08:391:08:43

-They're having a good time, aren't they?

-We're doing OK.

1:08:431:08:46

-Dancing to The Hives, it's great.

-They've got the wrong hats on there.

1:08:461:08:49

They should have these ones on. It's looking very good.

1:08:491:08:51

I'm going to come back and see you in a moment. You're beautiful.

1:08:511:08:54

We love you madly. Have a lovely New Year.

1:08:541:08:56

The room is filled, really, with incredibly talented people.

1:08:581:09:01

Now, of course, at this moment, brand-new nascent moments

1:09:011:09:05

of the New Year, it's time to look forward but also to look back,

1:09:051:09:08

and sometimes I look back at the music I've enjoyed over the years.

1:09:081:09:12

In 1982, there was a number one record I really enjoy it.

1:09:121:09:14

Goodness, it's lovely when you come across beautiful musicians who can play something.

1:09:141:09:18

Could you give us a little bit of something?

1:09:181:09:21

Ah, sweetness.

1:09:221:09:24

Number 1 in 1982. How marvellous to have Dexys in the room! Dexys!

1:09:291:09:36

1:11:031:11:06

# Come on, Eileen

1:11:141:11:15

# These people round here

1:11:191:11:23

# Wear beaten down eyes sunk in smoke-dried faces

1:11:231:11:26

# So resigned to what their fate is

1:11:261:11:28

-# But not us

-No never

1:11:281:11:30

-# Not us

-Not ever

1:11:301:11:32

# We were far too young and clever

1:11:321:11:34

-# Or we thought

-Remember

1:11:341:11:37

# Toora loora toora loo rye aye

1:11:371:11:43

# And you'll hum this tune for ever

1:11:431:11:48

# Come on, Eileen

1:11:481:11:50

-# Oh, I swear

-What he means

1:11:501:11:52

-# At this moment, you mean

-Everything

1:11:521:11:57

# You in that dress

1:11:571:11:58

-# Eileen

-Tell him yes

1:11:581:12:01

# Come on, darling

1:12:011:12:03

-# Take off

-Everything

1:12:031:12:06

# Pretty red dress

1:12:061:12:07

-# Eileen

-Tell me yes

1:12:071:12:10

# Oh, come on, let's

1:12:101:12:11

# Oh, come on, Eileen

1:12:111:12:17

# Come on, Eileen, tooloora yay

1:12:211:12:26

# Come on, Eileen, tooloora yay

1:12:261:12:31

# Now that you've grown

1:12:311:12:33

# Now that you have shown Oh, Eileen

1:12:331:12:39

-# I said, come on, Eileen

-Eileen, toora to loora yay

1:12:391:12:46

# I know exactly how you feel

1:12:481:12:50

# Stay close to me Oh, baby, eventually

1:12:501:12:55

# Things around here will change

1:12:551:12:59

-# I said, come on, Eileen

-Tooloora yay

1:12:591:13:06

# Come on, Eileen, tooloora yay

1:13:081:13:10

# Toora toora to loo rye aye

1:13:101:13:14

-# Come on, Eileen, I swear

-What he means

1:13:171:13:20

# At this moment, you mean

1:13:201:13:23

# Everything

1:13:231:13:25

# With you in that dress

1:13:251:13:27

# My thoughts, I confess

1:13:271:13:29

# Verge on dirty, dirty, dirty Dirty, dirty

1:13:291:13:32

# Oh, come on, Eileen

1:13:321:13:34

# Come on, Eileen

1:13:341:13:36

# This love is real

1:13:361:13:37

# Now I've got to show you all the pain that I feel

1:13:371:13:41

# You know

1:13:411:13:42

# All right

1:13:421:13:43

# Come on, Eileen

1:13:471:13:53

# Please. #

1:13:561:14:04

Thank you, Dexys. What a treat for us to have that in this room.

1:14:131:14:19

And now, I'm joined by Professor Green.

1:14:191:14:21

She was the biggest selling artist in 2012.

1:14:211:14:24

But we've only been in 2013 for a few minutes,

1:14:241:14:27

and the shops aren't open.

1:14:271:14:28

But we're delighted to have Emeli Sande.

1:14:281:14:31

# I wanna sing

1:14:351:14:38

# I wanna shout

1:14:381:14:40

# I wanna scream till the words dry out

1:14:401:14:44

# So put it in all of the papers

1:14:441:14:49

# I'm not afraid

1:14:491:14:51

# They can read all about it

1:14:511:14:54

# Read all about it, oh

1:14:541:14:59

Nothing to hide, stifle or smother

1:14:591:15:01

Suffered and cried Strife made me tougher

1:15:011:15:04

Never mothered or shy To trouble, I rise above all

1:15:041:15:06

Expectations, forget rep Ain't ever begged yet

1:15:061:15:08

When I wanted to get pence hustled to be here

1:15:081:15:11

I'm exactly what my neck says

1:15:111:15:13

She said I tried to cash in on my Dad's death

1:15:131:15:15

I wanted to vent but I never said ... all

1:15:151:15:18

After all, you were never kin to me

1:15:181:15:20

Family is something that you never been to me

1:15:201:15:22

In fact, making it harder for me to see my father

1:15:221:15:25

Was the only thing that you ever did for me...

1:15:251:15:29

# I wanna sing

1:15:271:15:29

# I wanna shout

1:15:291:15:31

# I wanna scream till the words dry out

1:15:311:15:36

# So put it in all of the papers

1:15:361:15:40

# I'm not afraid

1:15:401:15:41

# They can read all about it

1:15:411:15:45

# Read all about it, oh, oh, oh

1:15:451:15:50

# Oh, oh, oh

1:15:501:15:52

# Oh, oh, oh

1:15:521:15:56

As a kid, I looked up to you

1:15:571:15:59

Only thing was I never saw enough of you

1:15:591:16:01

Last thing I said to you was I hated you

1:16:011:16:04

I loved you, but now it's too late to say it to you

1:16:041:16:06

Just didn't know what to do and how to deal with it

1:16:061:16:09

Even now, deep down, I still live it

1:16:091:16:11

To think I used to blame me

1:16:111:16:13

I wonder what I did to you to make you hate me

1:16:131:16:16

I wasn't even five

1:16:161:16:17

Life's a journey and mine wasn't an easy ride

1:16:171:16:20

You never even got to see me rap

1:16:201:16:21

I just wish you woulda reached out

1:16:211:16:23

I wish you woulda been round when I been down

1:16:231:16:26

I wish that you could see me now

1:16:261:16:28

Wherever you are I really hope you find peace

1:16:281:16:31

But know that if I ever have kids

1:16:311:16:33

Unlike you, I'll never let them be without me

1:16:331:16:35

# I wanna sing

1:16:351:16:37

# I wanna shout

1:16:371:16:39

# I wanna scream till the words dry out

1:16:391:16:44

# So put it in all of the papers

1:16:441:16:48

# I'm not afraid

1:16:481:16:50

# They can read all about it

1:16:501:16:53

# Read all about it

1:16:531:16:55

-# Oh, oh, oh

-I write songs I couldn't listen to

1:16:551:16:59

-# Oh, oh, oh

-Everything I have, I give to you

1:16:591:17:01

-# Oh, oh, oh

-In every one of these lines I sing to you

1:17:011:17:04

# Oh, oh, oh

1:17:041:17:05

My job is more like public service

1:17:051:17:08

My life just became yours to read and interpret

1:17:081:17:10

If you heard it, it's come across as a little different at times

1:17:101:17:13

I throw fits when I read how they word things

1:17:131:17:16

You see me smile

1:17:161:17:18

Gonna have to see me hurtin'

1:17:181:17:20

Cos pretending everything is all right

1:17:201:17:22

When it ain't really isn't working

1:17:221:17:24

# I wanna sing

1:17:241:17:26

# I wanna shout

1:17:261:17:29

# I wanna scream until the words dry out

1:17:291:17:33

# So put it in all of the papers

1:17:331:17:37

# I'm not afraid

1:17:371:17:39

# They can read all about it

1:17:391:17:43

# Read all about it, oh

1:17:431:17:46

-# Oh, oh, oh

-I ain't censoring myself for nobody

1:17:461:17:48

-# Oh, oh, oh

-I'm the only thing I can be

1:17:481:17:52

-# Oh, oh, oh

-Yeah, yeah, yeah

1:17:521:17:56

# Oh, oh, oh

1:17:561:17:58

# Oh, oh, oh

1:17:581:18:00

-# Oh, oh, oh

-All that is me

1:18:001:18:03

# I wanna sing

1:18:031:18:05

# I wanna shout

1:18:051:18:08

# I wanna scream till the words dry out

1:18:081:18:13

# So put it in all of the papers

1:18:131:18:17

# I'm not afraid

1:18:171:18:19

# They can read all about it

1:18:191:18:23

# Read all about it

1:18:231:18:27

# Oh. #

1:18:271:18:31

CHEERING

1:18:321:18:35

# When you're alone and life is making you lonely

1:18:511:18:55

# You can always go

1:18:551:18:58

# Downtown

1:18:581:19:00

# When you've got worries All the noise and the hurry

1:19:001:19:03

# Seems to help, I know

1:19:031:19:06

# Downtown

1:19:061:19:08

# Just listen to the music of the traffic in the city

1:19:081:19:12

# Linger on the sidewalk where the neon signs are pretty

1:19:121:19:16

# How can you lose?

1:19:161:19:19

# The lights are much brighter there

1:19:191:19:22

# You can forget all your troubles

1:19:221:19:24

# Forget all your cares and go

1:19:241:19:27

# Downtown

1:19:271:19:29

# Things will be great when you're

1:19:291:19:31

# No finer place for sure

1:19:331:19:35

# Downtown

1:19:351:19:36

# Everything's waiting for you

1:19:361:19:39

# Downtown

# Downtown

1:19:421:19:47

# Don't hang around and let your problems surround you

1:19:471:19:50

# There are movie shows Where?

1:19:501:19:53

# Downtown

1:19:531:19:55

# Maybe you know some little places to go to

1:19:551:19:58

# Where they never close Where?

1:19:581:20:01

# Downtown

1:20:011:20:03

# Just listen to the rhythm of the gentle bossa nova

1:20:031:20:07

# You will be dancing with them too before the night is over

1:20:071:20:11

# Happy again

1:20:111:20:14

# The lights are much brighter there

1:20:141:20:16

# You can forget all your troubles

1:20:161:20:19

# Forget all your cares, so go

1:20:191:20:22

# Downtown

1:20:221:20:23

# Where all the lights are bright

1:20:231:20:25

# Downtown

1:20:251:20:27

# Waiting for us tonight

1:20:271:20:29

# Downtown

1:20:291:20:31

# We're going to be all right

1:20:311:20:36

# Downtown, downtown

1:20:371:20:41

# Downtown

1:21:011:21:04

# To guide them along

1:21:041:21:07

# So maybe I'll see you there

1:21:071:21:10

# We can forget all our troubles Forget all our cares

1:21:101:21:14

# So go

# Downto-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-own! #

1:21:351:21:46

CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

1:21:461:21:50

-The fantastic Petula Clark! Happy New Year!

-Happy New Year!

1:21:521:21:58

Fantastic, and people... Didn't we love that, the people?

1:21:581:22:01

-CHEERING

-The whole... Everybody who was watching that loved that.

1:22:011:22:06

-That was fantastic. Here, have a seat between us.

-Thank you.

1:22:061:22:09

Now, you know, it's fantastic.

1:22:111:22:13

Of all the New Year's Eves you've spent...

1:22:131:22:15

Let me just take this a moment, so I can...

1:22:151:22:17

It is so fantastic to have you.

1:22:171:22:19

You've got an incredible new record out, but of all the New...

1:22:191:22:22

What you like to do best on New Year's Eve?

1:22:221:22:25

Oh, I like to do pretty well what we're doing now.

1:22:251:22:28

Have a good time, good music and dance and all that stuff.

1:22:281:22:32

You know, just having fun.

1:22:321:22:35

You've got a very interesting new record, and in a moment

1:22:351:22:37

you're going to do a song off it that people might not expect.

1:22:371:22:41

I think they probably won't expect what I'm going to be singing later.

1:22:411:22:44

But I enjoy singing it, and the whole album, really -

1:22:441:22:47

it comes out in February - is a mixture of all kinds of things.

1:22:471:22:51

I've recorded Downtown in a totally different way...

1:22:511:22:54

Well, we love it any way that you're going to do it.

1:22:541:22:57

Hello, you're here with us, fantastic earlier.

1:22:571:22:59

-Happy New Year to you.

-Thank you very much.

1:22:591:23:01

-Happy New Year to you too.

-I loved it.

1:23:011:23:03

Thank you very much.

1:23:031:23:05

In Sweden, what would be the traditional way of having

1:23:051:23:07

a New Year's Eve sort of thing?

1:23:071:23:09

-Well, I think it usually includes herring-flavoured schnapps...

-Yes?

1:23:091:23:15

-..sauna and free sex for everybody.

-Yes. So in other words...

1:23:151:23:18

Maybe polar bear wrestling, if we feel up for it.

1:23:181:23:21

-That's exactly the same as here!

-Yeah, it is.

-What a coincidence.

1:23:211:23:23

-Similar. But more snow.

-Yes.

1:23:231:23:26

And what will you be doing...?

1:23:261:23:27

Any predictions for this new year that's coming?

1:23:271:23:30

I think this year is going to be the best yet, because I feel

1:23:301:23:33

like every year my entire life has been better than the last one.

1:23:331:23:36

Very interesting. Petula, you've seen lots of people come and go.

1:23:361:23:39

-Would you go along with that theory - does it get better and better?

-Oh, I think so, yeah.

1:23:391:23:43

It has for me, and I think next year is going to be great.

1:23:431:23:46

-I'm really looking forward to it.

-There we go. Thank you very much,

1:23:461:23:50

Petula Clark. Thank you very much indeed, Pelle from The Hives.

1:23:501:23:54

Happy New Year, Bettye LaVette! Happy New Year!

1:23:541:23:56

Happy New Year, Orchestra! Happy New Year to you wherever you are!

1:23:561:24:01

And now let's really enjoy ourselves and thrust into some music

1:24:011:24:05

that will get our knees going up, and that is the music

1:24:051:24:07

of The Dubliners!

1:24:071:24:09

CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

1:24:091:24:12

# In the Year of Our Lord 1806

1:24:211:24:25

# We set sail from the fair cove of Cork

1:24:251:24:28

# We were sailing away with a cargo of bricks

1:24:281:24:32

# For the Grand City Hall in New York

1:24:321:24:36

# We'd an elegant craft

1:24:361:24:38

# It was rigged fore and aft

1:24:381:24:40

# And how the trade winds drove her

1:24:401:24:44

# She had 23 masts

1:24:441:24:46

# She stood several blasts

1:24:461:24:48

# They called her the Irish Rover

1:24:481:24:51

# There was Barney McGee

1:24:531:24:55

# From the banks of the Lee

1:24:551:24:56

# There was Hogan from County Tyrone

1:24:561:25:00

# There was young Mick McGurk

1:25:001:25:02

# Who was scared stiff of work

1:25:021:25:04

# And a chap from Westmeath called Malone

1:25:041:25:07

Lovely!

1:25:071:25:08

# There was Slugger O'Toole who was drunk as a rule

1:25:081:25:12

# And Fighting Bill Treacy from Dover

1:25:121:25:16

# And your man, Mick MacCann from the banks of the Bann

1:25:161:25:19

# Was the skipper on the Irish Rover

1:25:191:25:23

Here we go!

1:25:291:25:31

Very good!

1:25:351:25:36

Lovely.

1:25:461:25:47

# We had one million bags of the best Sligo rags

1:25:561:26:00

# Two million barrels of bone

1:26:001:26:04

# We had three million bales of old nanny-goats' tails

1:26:041:26:08

# Four million barrels of bone

1:26:081:26:12

# We had five million hogs

1:26:121:26:13

# We had six million dogs

1:26:131:26:15

# Seven million barrels of porter

1:26:151:26:19

# We had eight million sides of old blind horses' hides

1:26:191:26:23

# All on board on the Irish Rover

1:26:231:26:28

# Well, we sailed seven years

1:26:281:26:30

# The measles broke out

1:26:301:26:32

# And our ship lost its way in the fog

1:26:321:26:34

# And the whole of that crew was reduced down to two

1:26:361:26:39

# Myself and the captain's old dog

1:26:391:26:43

# Then the ship struck a rock

1:26:431:26:45

# Oh, Lord, what a shock

1:26:451:26:47

# It nearly turned right over

1:26:471:26:53

# It spun nine times around

1:26:531:26:57

# And the poor old dog got drowned

1:26:571:27:01

Two, three!

1:27:011:27:02

# I'm the last on the Irish Rover. #

1:27:021:27:05

Whoa!

1:27:051:27:07

Lovely!

1:27:191:27:21

CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

1:27:381:27:41

Thank you! God bless you. Happy New Year.

1:27:441:27:46

The Irish Rover, The Dubliners!

1:27:481:27:52

CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

1:28:081:28:11

# We're caught in a trap

1:28:171:28:19

# Can't walk out

1:28:211:28:24

# Because I love you too much, baby

1:28:251:28:30

# Why can't you see

1:28:331:28:35

# What you're doing to me

1:28:371:28:40

# When you don't believe a word I say?

1:28:411:28:45

# Don't believe a word I say

1:28:451:28:49

# We can't go on together

1:28:491:28:53

# With suspicious minds

1:28:531:28:55

# With suspicious minds

1:28:551:28:57

# And we can't build our dreams

1:28:571:29:01

# On suspicious minds

1:29:011:29:06

# So if an old friend I know

1:29:071:29:11

# Stops and says hello

1:29:111:29:13

# Would I still see suspicion in your eyes?

1:29:151:29:21

# Here you go again

1:29:241:29:26

# Asking where I've been

1:29:281:29:30

# You can't see the tears are real

1:29:311:29:36

# Can't you see the tears I'm crying?

1:29:361:29:39

# We can't go on together

1:29:391:29:44

# With suspicious minds

1:29:441:29:45

# With suspicious minds

1:29:451:29:48

# And we can't build our dreams

1:29:481:29:51

# On suspicious minds

1:29:511:29:56

# Oh, let our love survive

1:29:571:30:01

# I'll dry those tears that you cry

1:30:031:30:06

# Don't let this good thing die

1:30:081:30:11

# You know I would never lie to you

1:30:111:30:15

# No

1:30:171:30:19

# No

1:30:191:30:21

# No!

1:30:441:30:47

# When you don't believe a word I say?

1:30:481:30:52

# Don't believe a word I say

1:30:521:30:55

# We can't go on together

1:30:551:31:00

# With suspicious minds

1:31:001:31:02

# With suspicious minds

1:31:021:31:04

# And we can't build our dreams

1:31:041:31:07

# On suspicious minds

1:31:071:31:12

# We're caught in a trap

1:31:141:31:16

# I can't walk out

1:31:181:31:20

# Because I love you too much, baby

1:31:221:31:26

# Why can't you see

1:31:301:31:33

# What you're doing to me

1:31:341:31:36

# When you don't believe a word I say?

1:31:381:31:42

# We're caught in a trap

1:31:461:31:49

# And I can't walk out

1:31:501:31:52

# Because I love you too much Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

1:31:541:31:59

# Yeah yeah, baby

# What you're doing to me

1:32:061:32:08

# When you don't believe a word I say?

1:32:101:32:15

# Na-na-na-na

CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

1:36:161:36:19

Brrr!

1:36:331:36:34

# And it was back in '68 in a sweaty club

1:36:531:36:58

# Oh, Geno

1:36:581:37:00

# It was

1:37:001:37:01

# Before Jimmy's Machine

1:37:011:37:03

# Rock-Rock-Rocksteady Rub, now

1:37:031:37:06

# Oh-oh-oh, Geno-o

1:37:061:37:09

# On a night when flowers didn't suit these shoes

1:37:091:37:13

# After a week of flunkin' and bunkin' school

1:37:131:37:17

# The lowest head in the crowd that night

1:37:171:37:22

# Practisin' steps and keepin' outta the fights

1:37:221:37:26

# Academic inspiration

1:37:261:37:30

# You gave me none

1:37:301:37:33

# But you were Michael the lover

1:37:341:37:38

# You were the fighter that won

1:37:381:37:41

# And now you got to look at me, Geno

1:37:431:37:46

# I'm looking down upon you Not in a bad way

1:37:461:37:50

# You see, I'm not being flash

1:37:501:37:53

# It's just what I was built to do

1:37:531:37:57

# That man took the stage

1:38:111:38:13

# With his towel swingin' high

1:38:131:38:16

# Oh, Geno

1:38:161:38:18

# This man was my bombers

1:38:181:38:22

# My Dexys, my high

1:38:221:38:23

# Oh-oh-oh, Geno-o

1:38:231:38:26

# Well, now, crowd they all hailed you

1:38:261:38:29

# They chanted your name

1:38:291:38:30

# But they never knew like we knew

1:38:301:38:32

# Me and you, we're the same

1:38:321:38:34

-# That's right!

-And now you're all over

1:38:341:38:37

-# Your song is so tame

-Brrrrr

1:38:371:38:39

# You fed me, you bred me I'll remember your name

1:38:391:38:43

# Academic inspiration

1:38:431:38:47

# Geno, you didn't give me none!

1:38:471:38:49

# Ooh

1:38:491:38:51

# You were Michael the lover

1:38:511:38:55

# You were the fighter that won

1:38:551:38:58

# But now you got to look at me, Geno

1:38:591:39:03

# I'm looking down upon you

1:39:031:39:05

# Oh, no, no I'm not being flash

1:39:061:39:10

# It's what I What I was built to do

1:39:101:39:13

# You know

1:39:131:39:15

Ow!

1:39:211:39:22

# Oh, Geno

1:39:401:39:42

Ha!

1:39:421:39:44

# Oh-oh-oh, Geno-o

1:39:441:39:46

# Geno, Geno

1:39:461:39:47

-# Oh, Geno

-Give it to me

1:39:471:39:50

# Oh-oh-oh, Geno-o

1:39:501:39:54

# Geno, Geno

1:39:541:39:55

# Ha!

1:39:551:39:56

# Oh, Geno

1:39:561:39:58

# Oh, Geno

1:40:001:40:02

# Oh, Geno

1:40:041:40:05

Come on!

1:40:051:40:07

# Oh, Geno

1:40:071:40:09

# You know, you know, Geno. #

1:40:091:40:11

CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

1:40:161:40:20

WHISTLING

1:40:201:40:22

Thank you! Dexys,

1:40:221:40:25

and Geno.

1:40:251:40:27

Before that, we enjoyed Adam Ant

1:40:271:40:29

and we now move in to a man who was a great new star in 2012.

1:40:291:40:34

From Nottingham, it is Jake Bugg.

1:40:341:40:37

CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

1:40:371:40:39

# Morning It's another pure grey morning

1:40:461:40:50

# Don't know what the day is holding

1:40:501:40:52

# When I get uptight and I walk right into the path

1:40:521:40:54

# Of a lightning bolt

1:40:541:40:56

# Siren of an ambulance comes howling

1:40:591:41:01

# Right through the centre of town and

1:41:011:41:04

# No-one blinks an eye

1:41:041:41:05

# And I look up to the sky in the path of a lighting bolt

1:41:051:41:08

# Met her as the angels parted for her

1:41:111:41:14

# But it only brought me torture

1:41:141:41:16

# But that's what happens when it's you that's standing

1:41:161:41:18

# In the path of a lightning bolt

1:41:181:41:20

# Everyone I see just wants to walk with gritted teeth

1:41:231:41:27

# But I just stand by and I wait my time

1:41:271:41:30

# They say you gotta toe the line They want the water not the wine

1:41:301:41:35

# But when I see the signs I jump on that lightning bolt

1:41:351:41:40

CHEERING, CLAPPING IN TIME TO MUSIC

1:41:421:41:45

# Chances People tell you not to take chances

1:41:471:41:50

# And they tell you there aren't any answers

1:41:501:41:52

# And I was starting to agree

1:41:521:41:53

# But I awoke suddenly in the path of a lightning bolt

1:41:531:41:57

# Fortune People talking all about fortune

1:42:001:42:02

# Do you make it or does it just call you?

1:42:021:42:04

# In the blinking of an eye

1:42:041:42:05

# Just another passer-by in the path of a lightning bolt

1:42:051:42:09

# Everyone I see just wants to walk with gritted teeth

1:42:111:42:15

# But I just stand by and I wait my time

1:42:151:42:19

# They say you gotta toe the line They want the water not the wine

1:42:191:42:23

# But when I see the signs I jump on that lightning bolt

1:42:231:42:29

# Silence I was lying back, gazing skywards

1:42:361:42:39

# When the moment got shattered I remembered what she said

1:42:391:42:42

# And then she fled in the path of a lightning bolt. #

1:42:421:42:46

CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

1:42:521:42:56

# Love me or leave me Just let me be lonely

1:43:121:43:15

# You won't believe me but I love you only

1:43:151:43:18

# I'd rather be lonely than happy with somebody else

1:43:181:43:22

# You might find the night time the right time for kissing

1:43:231:43:27

# Night time is my time for just reminiscing

1:43:271:43:29

# Regretting instead of forgetting with somebody else

1:43:291:43:33

# There'll be no-one if that someone isn't you

1:43:341:43:41

# I decided to be independently blue

1:43:411:43:46

# I want your love I don't wanna borrow

1:43:461:43:49

# Have it today Give tomorrow

1:43:491:43:51

# Your love is your love and nobody else

1:43:511:43:56

# Hey, love me or leave me Just let me be lonely

1:45:241:45:28

# You won't believe me but I love you only

1:45:281:45:31

# I'd rather be lonely than happy with somebody else

1:45:311:45:36

# You might find the night time the right time for kissing

1:45:361:45:39

# Night time is my time for just reminiscing

1:45:391:45:42

# Regretting instead of forgetting with somebody else

1:45:421:45:47

# There won't be no-one if that someone isn't you

1:45:471:45:53

# I'd rather be happily blue

1:45:531:45:59

# Oh, I want your love I don't wanna borrow

1:45:591:46:01

# Have it today to give back tomorrow

1:46:011:46:05

# My love is my love

1:46:051:46:07

# Your love is my love

1:46:071:46:10

# I have no other love for no-one else. #

1:46:101:46:17

CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

This room is packed with talent.

1:46:581:47:00

You're going to do a brand-new song for us, aren't you?

1:47:001:47:03

Well, it is not brand-new.

1:47:031:47:04

Well, it's brand-new for you and it's brand-new for us.

1:47:041:47:08

-And it is the first time this year.

-OK.

1:47:081:47:10

-Petula Clark, ladies and gentlemen!

-Thank you.

1:47:101:47:13

And a happy New Year to us all.

1:47:151:47:17

# I remember when

1:47:401:47:42

# I remember when I lost my mind

1:47:421:47:46

# There was something so pleasant about that place

1:47:481:47:52

# Even your emotions had an echo

1:47:521:47:55

# In so much space

1:47:551:47:58

# So much space

1:47:581:48:01

# And when you we're out there

1:48:021:48:04

# Without care

1:48:041:48:06

# I was out of touch

1:48:061:48:09

# But it wasn't because I didn't know enough

1:48:101:48:13

# No

1:48:131:48:15

# I just knew too much

1:48:171:48:21

# Does that make me crazy?

1:48:221:48:27

# Does that make me crazy?

1:48:281:48:32

# Does that make me crazy?

1:48:331:48:37

# Possibly, yeah

1:48:391:48:42

# And I hope that you are having the time of your life

1:48:461:48:54

# But think twice

1:48:561:48:59

# That's my only advice

1:48:591:49:04

# Come on, now

1:49:061:49:08

# Who do you, who do you Who do you think you are?

1:49:081:49:13

Ha!

1:49:141:49:16

# Well, bless your soul

1:49:161:49:19

# You really think you're in control

1:49:211:49:25

Ha!

1:49:251:49:26

# Well, I think you're crazy

1:49:271:49:33

# I think you're crazy

1:49:331:49:36

# I think you're crazy

1:49:381:49:43

# Just like me, yeah

1:49:431:49:47

# And my heroes had the heart

1:49:511:49:54

# To lose their lives out on a limb

1:49:541:49:58

# And all I remember

1:49:591:50:02

# Is thinking I want to be like them

1:50:041:50:09

# Ever since I was little

1:50:121:50:14

# Ever since I was little It looked like fun

1:50:141:50:19

# And it's no coincidence I've come

1:50:201:50:26

# And I can die when I'm done

1:50:261:50:32

# But maybe I'm crazy

1:50:321:50:37

# Maybe you're crazy

1:50:371:50:43

# Maybe we're crazy

1:50:431:50:48

# Probably, yeah

1:50:481:50:55

# Crazy

1:50:551:50:57

# Maybe we're crazy

1:50:591:51:04

# Maybe we're crazy

1:51:051:51:09

1:51:121:51:16

# I got my eye on the score

1:52:391:52:41

1:52:411:52:42

# It's too late it's too soon Or is it?

1:52:421:52:45

# And out the door cos there's no second chance

2013 and still no flying car!

1:54:321:54:36

Our delegation from Sweden says...

Fasten your seatbelt!

CHEERING AND APPLAUSE Happy New Year!

1:55:481:55:52

Thank you, The Hives, Tick Tick Tick Tick...

1:56:011:56:04

HE MOUTHS

1:56:041:56:05

CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

1:56:051:56:07

Before that, we enjoyed Petula Clark.

1:56:071:56:10

Did you know that EL James, the novelist 50 Shades Of Grey, is in this room?

1:56:101:56:14

But enough of that. Maybe her in a moment.

1:56:141:56:16

But now, let's enjoy the person that's been a great sensation

1:56:161:56:20

this year, who we enjoyed earlier. Lianne La Havas.

1:56:201:56:24

CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

1:56:241:56:27

# Why do I love him?

1:56:361:56:39

# He don't love back

1:56:391:56:41

# When I call his name He turns his back

1:56:411:56:45

# The weather is growing cold and I want him back again

1:56:451:56:50

# I kinda know this other guy but he's rather

1:56:521:56:57

# Old enough to be my father

1:56:571:57:02

# So he's not the one for me

1:57:021:57:05

# Cos I fancy younger men

1:57:051:57:07

# I'm at a loss

1:57:101:57:12

# Not a coincidence he left me, because

1:57:131:57:17

# My older man

1:57:181:57:21

# Was ready to love me like the woman that I am

1:57:211:57:26

# Oooh

1:57:281:57:30

# So is it such a problem if he's old?

1:57:301:57:35

# As long as he does whatever he is told

1:57:351:57:40

# I'm glad that it's just my heart that he stole

1:57:401:57:43

# And left my dignity alone

1:57:431:57:47

# When in Rome we landed our first kiss

1:57:491:57:54

# I slurred my words but he pretended not to notice

1:57:541:57:59

# And then he sat down to play

1:57:591:58:01

# My heart sang a symphony

1:58:011:58:04

# So far, so swimmingly

1:58:061:58:09

# I'm glad I got up to find my fish in that sea

1:58:101:58:14

# And we've come so far

1:58:141:58:18

# So who gives a damn about the ages we are?

1:58:181:58:24

# Oooh

1:58:251:58:28

# Is it such a problem that he's old?

1:58:281:58:33

# As long as he does whatever he is told

1:58:331:58:37

# I'm glad that it's just my heart that he stole

1:58:371:58:41

# And left my dignity alone

1:58:411:58:46

# So is it such a problem if he's old?

1:58:461:58:50

# As long as he does whatever he is told

1:58:501:58:55

# I know that I'm gonna survive the December cold

1:58:551:58:59

# With somebody to retrieve

1:58:591:59:01

# My long lost soul

1:59:011:59:04

# With somebody to retrieve my long lost soul. #

1:59:041:59:08

CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

1:59:101:59:13

Beautiful.

1:59:161:59:18

Ravishing voice of Lianne La Havas.

1:59:181:59:21

CHEERING

1:59:211:59:24

Right, better get a microphone in here. Thanks very much.

1:59:241:59:27

Now, we've a number of interesting guests over here.

1:59:271:59:30

A myriad of people here. Now, we have Erica.

1:59:301:59:34

Should it be Erica, or EL?

1:59:341:59:36

-EL.

-EL.

-El, Erica's fine.

1:59:361:59:38

EL, but I have to say,

1:59:381:59:40

congratulations on an incredibly successful year, marvellous.

1:59:401:59:43

-Thank you.

-50 Shades Of Grey, a huge success.

-Very unexpected.

1:59:431:59:47

One of the real successes of the year. All the ladies are blushing.

1:59:471:59:51

-Have you read the book, Ruby?

-I've started it.

-Have you read it, Paloma?

1:59:511:59:55

I'm really sorry - I just put it in Room 101!

1:59:551:59:59

-Have you read it?

-It's not for everybody. Trust me!

2:00:012:00:04

-Roland's read it!

-Full of interesting tips.

-Thank you, yes.

2:00:042:00:08

What people don't realise is you actually used to work on Later With Jools Holland.

2:00:082:00:12

I did, yes! This is my third Hootenanny and it's the first time I'm in front of the camera.

2:00:122:00:17

So, what we need to know is,

2:00:172:00:18

was some of the book based on your experiences working on our show?

2:00:182:00:23

-It's all based on you, Jools.

-I knew it all along!

2:00:232:00:28

And now we're in the New Year, are you working on more volumes?

2:00:282:00:32

I'd like to write some more, yes.

2:00:322:00:33

I just need some time away from everything to do that.

2:00:332:00:36

-Well, congratulations, you've been an amazing success.

-Thank you.

2:00:362:00:39

Millions of copies - the world, not just this room,

2:00:392:00:42

-but the world loves your books.

-Thank you.

2:00:422:00:44

And Ruby's just started it, but I might have to confiscate it.

2:00:442:00:47

Roland's picked up tips.

2:00:472:00:49

Thank you very much indeed, all the beautiful guests here -

2:00:492:00:51

Paloma Faith, EL James, Ruby Turner, Roland Gift,

2:00:512:00:54

marvellous selection of people.

2:00:542:00:56

So now, hey, let's go back with a beautiful brand-new song from Dexys!

2:00:562:01:02

APPLAUSE

2:01:022:01:05

Pete, Pete, can I have a word?

2:01:382:01:41

Listen...

2:01:412:01:43

Pete...

2:01:442:01:46

# She got a wiggle

2:01:472:01:50

# She got a wiggle that makes me melt

2:01:502:01:58

# The problem is I don't know

2:01:582:02:00

# If she even likes me

2:02:012:02:04

You see?

2:02:042:02:05

# She's such a woman

2:02:072:02:10

# She's such a woman

2:02:102:02:12

# She's all I need

2:02:122:02:18

# And I'm the one who loves her so

2:02:182:02:20

# And I'm the one who loves her so

2:02:202:02:22

# And now you know

2:02:222:02:24

# And here I go

2:02:242:02:26

Listen

2:02:262:02:28

# I love her face And her soft brown hair

2:02:282:02:32

# The poses she strikes when she's standing there

2:02:322:02:37

# She is woman

2:02:372:02:39

# I got to have her

2:02:422:02:44

# And in my mind she says

2:02:462:02:47

# I'm mad about you

2:02:472:02:50

# I'm mad about you

2:02:502:02:52

-# She's mad about me

-# I'm mad about you

2:03:052:03:08

# She got a voice

2:03:082:03:10

# That's soft and moist

2:03:102:03:13

# Caresses my ears

2:03:132:03:15

# While it's heightening my senses

2:03:152:03:18

# It's sexy and warm and tender

2:03:182:03:22

# I like it

2:03:222:03:26

Listen

2:03:262:03:28

# She got a wiggle

2:03:282:03:31

# She got a wiggle that makes me melt

2:03:312:03:36

One big problem...

2:03:362:03:38

# I'm afraid to let her know

2:03:382:03:40

# That I'm the one who loves her so

2:03:402:03:42

# I love her, love her, love her, love her, love her, love her

2:03:422:03:46

# And in my mind she said

2:03:462:03:48

# I'm mad about you

2:03:482:03:49

# I'm mad about you

2:03:492:03:52

2:04:202:04:23

-Can't live without you

2:04:232:04:25

APPLAUSE

2:05:322:05:34

Thank you, Dexys, She's Got A Wiggle.

2:05:442:05:46

And now, The Dubliners!

2:05:462:05:49

APPLAUSE

2:05:492:05:52

# In a neat little town they call Belfast

2:05:532:05:57

# Apprentice to trade I was bound

2:05:572:06:00

# And as many as an hour sweet happiness

2:06:002:06:04

# Have I spent in that neat little town

2:06:042:06:08

# Till a sad misfortune came over me

# Which caused me to stray from the land

2:06:122:06:15

# Far away from me friends and relations

2:06:152:06:20

# Betrayed by the black velvet band

2:06:202:06:24

# Her eyes they shone like diamonds

2:06:242:06:27

# I thought her the queen of the land

2:06:272:06:31

# And her hair it hung over her shoulder

# Tied up with a black velvet band

# And she placed it right into my hand

2:06:582:07:02

# And the very first thing that I thought was

2:07:022:07:06

# Bad luck to the black velvet band

2:07:062:07:10

# Her eyes they shone like diamonds

2:07:102:07:13

# I thought her the queen of the land

2:07:132:07:17

# And her hair It hung over her shoulder

2:07:172:07:21

# Tied up with a black velvet band

2:07:212:07:25

# Now before a judge and a jury

2:07:252:07:29

# Next morning I had to appear

2:07:292:07:33

# Oh, the judge he says to me

2:07:332:07:36

# Young man, your case it is proven clear

2:07:362:07:41

# We'll give you seven years penal servitude

2:07:412:07:45

# To be spent far away from the land

2:07:452:07:49

# Far away from your friends and relations

2:07:492:07:53

# Betrayed by the black velvet band

2:07:532:07:57

# Her eyes they shone like diamonds

2:07:572:08:00

# I thought her the queen of the land

2:08:002:08:04

# And her hair it hung over her shoulder

2:08:042:08:08

# Tied up with a black velvet band

2:08:082:08:12

# So come all you jolly young fellows

2:08:122:08:16

# And a warning take by me

2:08:162:08:20

# Well when you are out on the town, me lads

2:08:202:08:24

# Beware of them pretty Colleens

2:08:242:08:28

# They'll feed you with strong ale my lad

2:08:282:08:32

# Until you are unable to stand

2:08:322:08:36

# And the very first thing that you'll know, me lads

2:08:362:08:40

# Is you've landed in Van Dieman's Land

2:08:402:08:44

# Her eyes they shone like diamonds

2:08:442:08:48

# I thought her the queen of the land

2:08:482:08:51

# And her hair it hung over her shoulder

2:08:512:08:56

# Tied up with a black velvet band. #

2:08:562:09:03

APPLAUSE

2:09:032:09:06

# I've been tried

2:09:412:09:46

# And I've been tested

2:09:462:09:49

# I was born tired

2:09:492:09:52

# And I still ain't got rested

2:09:522:09:57

# Harder than marble stone

2:09:572:10:01

# I'm better off

2:10:032:10:05

# I'm better off left alone

2:10:052:10:10

# Cos I'm not the one

2:10:112:10:15

# I'm not the one

2:10:152:10:18

# You wanted it all

2:10:192:10:23

# I ain't going to give you none

2:10:232:10:27

# Cos I'm not the one

2:10:282:10:31

# Hey now, you want to talk to me

2:10:312:10:34

# Like I'm a kid?

2:10:362:10:38

# Cos when your daddy said jump

2:10:392:10:43

# Your mamma did

2:10:432:10:46

# Like you know, your daddy knows

2:10:462:10:50

# Your mama knows

2:10:502:10:52

# And I know that's wrong

2:10:522:10:56

# So now it's time for you to move on

2:10:562:11:00

# Cos I ain't the one

2:11:012:11:05

# I'm not the one

2:11:052:11:09

# You wanted it all

2:11:092:11:12

# I ain't going to give you none

2:11:122:11:17

# Cos I'm not the one

2:11:172:11:20

# Oh-oh-ohh

2:11:252:11:29

# I'm not the one

2:11:292:11:33

# Now you thought

2:11:352:11:39

# I was normal

2:11:392:11:43

# All of these years

2:11:432:11:46

# I'm just trying to warn you

2:11:462:11:50

# You'd do good

2:11:502:11:53

# To move on

2:11:532:11:56

# Cos it ain't going to hurt me, honey

2:11:562:12:00

# It ain't going to hurt me none

2:12:002:12:03

# Cos I'm not the one

2:12:032:12:09

# I ain't the one

2:12:092:12:13

# You wanted it all

2:12:132:12:16

# I ain't going to give you none

2:12:162:12:20

# Cos I'm not the one

2:12:202:12:24

# Oh-oh-ohh

2:12:282:12:31

# I'm not the one

2:12:312:12:35

# Oh-oh-ohh

2:12:412:12:45

# Oh-ohh

2:12:452:12:47

# I'm not the one

2:12:472:12:50

# I'm not the one

2:12:522:12:57

# I'm not the one

2:13:002:13:04

# You wanted it all

2:13:072:13:11

# You wanted it all

2:13:112:13:15

# But I'm not the one

2:13:152:13:19

# It ain't me, baby

2:13:212:13:24

# It ain't me, babe

2:13:252:13:29

# It ain't me, baby

2:13:292:13:32

# No, no, no, no, no-oh

2:13:322:13:37

# I'm not the one. #

2:13:392:13:42

APPLAUSE

2:13:432:13:46

The legendary Bettye LaVette!

2:13:532:13:56

The brand-new song, I'm Not The One, from her brand-new record.

2:13:562:13:59

Now, have you got a microphone for me there? Thank you very much.

2:13:592:14:02

I think we've got a few people sitting over here we can talk to.

2:14:022:14:05

Henry, you've got lipstick all over you. Somebody's been kissing you.

2:14:052:14:08

-My dear old thing, I'm not hard enough, I'm afraid.

-Very good.

2:14:082:14:13

The champagne isn't quite up to it, I have too say,

2:14:132:14:16

but I want you to enjoy it anyway.

2:14:162:14:18

It's great to have you here,

2:14:182:14:20

Ron Dennis, Formula One guru and insider and team man.

2:14:202:14:25

Now we're in this New Year, what are you looking forward to?

2:14:252:14:28

-Winning more races, that's what it's all about.

-Exactly.

2:14:282:14:30

-We only won seven last year.

-Is that all? That's lucky.

2:14:302:14:33

-Only seven, yeah.

-Very good.

2:14:332:14:34

Well, we can find out what's in store for your team now,

2:14:342:14:37

because we have Jonathan Cainer with us, one of the gurus of...

2:14:372:14:41

I'm just going to move around here to Jonathan.

2:14:412:14:43

I literally don't make a move without reading your column in the morning because you...

2:14:432:14:47

Mind you, last year, you guaranteed that America was going to have a woman president.

2:14:472:14:51

-That wasn't last year, it was some while ago.

-Yes, yes.

2:14:512:14:54

I'm very, very embarrassed.

2:14:542:14:55

But I thought it might mean that in fact, Mrs Obama has got the reins.

2:14:552:15:00

The future is full of surprises, Jools.

2:15:002:15:02

-But this year is such a wonderful year.

-A wonderful year!

2:15:022:15:07

Every time I come onto your show I want to tell you so much

2:15:072:15:10

about the things that will touch us all and change our lives.

2:15:102:15:13

Two incredible comets will grace the sky in 2013

2:15:132:15:17

and they will both be visible to the naked eye,

2:15:172:15:20

and they will be so inspiring and they will bring forth, look...

2:15:202:15:24

-This is the world.

-Here's the world as we know it.

2:15:242:15:27

-This is the state of the world as we know it now.

-Bandaged up.

2:15:272:15:30

Yes, the world's in a pickle right now.

2:15:302:15:32

But in 2013, it's going to get better

2:15:322:15:35

and the experience we will ALL have throughout the coming year

2:15:352:15:39

is of healing the world as we heal ourselves.

2:15:392:15:42

Healing the world as we heal ourselves! You heard it here first.

2:15:422:15:45

I won't make a move without listening to you,

2:15:452:15:47

and there is the world bandaged up.

2:15:472:15:50

If you could share with Ron Dennis privately what's going to happen for his team,

2:15:502:15:54

and we'll see how he looks at the end of the evening.

2:15:542:15:56

Thank you very much, Jonathan Cainer, thank you, Ron Dennis.

2:15:562:15:59

And now, a woman that's had phenomenal success this year.

2:15:592:16:02

And why is that? Well, last year, and she'll have it this year,

2:16:022:16:05

and why? Because she's amazingly talented. She is Paloma Faith.

2:16:052:16:09

CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

2:16:092:16:12

# Let's get old together

2:16:242:16:29

# Let's be unhappy for ever

2:16:302:16:35

# Cos there's no-one else in this world

2:16:362:16:40

# That I'd rather be unhappy with

2:16:422:16:46

# Let's be exposed and unprotected

2:16:492:16:53

# Let's see one another when we're weak

2:16:552:17:00

# Let's go our separate ways in the night like two moths

2:17:012:17:07

# But know that you're flying home to me

2:17:072:17:11

# I was born thinking

2:17:132:17:16

# It would all be dreamy

2:17:162:17:19

# But I know that I wouldn't be happy that way

2:17:192:17:25

# You wear me out with frustration and heartache and anger

2:17:252:17:31

# But we wait for the wave just to wash it away

2:17:312:17:37

# Don't say nothing

2:17:382:17:43

# Just sit next to me

2:17:432:17:48

# Don't say nothing

2:17:502:17:55

# Shhh

2:17:552:17:57

# Just be, just be, just be

2:17:592:18:03

# Let's let go together

2:18:082:18:13

# Let us unfold one another

2:18:142:18:20

# And watch all the little things that once drew me to you

2:18:202:18:25

# Eventually get on my nerves

2:18:262:18:31

# I wear you out with frustration and heartache and anger

2:18:322:18:38

# But we wait for the wave just to wash it away

2:18:382:18:44

# Don't say nothing

2:18:452:18:49

# Just sit next to me

2:18:502:18:55

# Don't say nothing

2:18:572:19:02

# Shhh

2:19:022:19:03

# Just be, just be, just be

2:19:052:19:10

# Oh whoa, whoa, whoa

2:19:102:19:13

# When you're sick of the everyday

2:19:132:19:16

# Oh-oh-oh

2:19:162:19:18

# And you're tired of my voice

2:19:182:19:21

# When you tell me

2:19:242:19:26

# You'll walk out that door

2:19:262:19:28

# That's when I know that you'll stay

2:19:282:19:34

# Oh-oh

2:19:342:19:36

# Don't say nothing

2:19:382:19:42

# Shhhhh. #

2:19:422:19:45

APPLAUSE

2:19:472:19:49

# You won't find him drinking at the tables

2:20:122:20:17

# Rolling dice and staying out till three

2:20:172:20:22

# You won't ever find him being unfaithful

2:20:222:20:26

# You will find him

2:20:262:20:28

# You'll find him next to me

2:20:282:20:30

# You won't find him trying to chase the devil

2:20:322:20:37

# For money, fame, for power Out of greed

2:20:372:20:41

# You won't ever find him where the rest go

2:20:422:20:47

# You will find him

2:20:472:20:48

# You'll find him next to me

2:20:482:20:52

# Next to me

2:20:522:20:54

# Woo-hoo

2:20:542:20:57

# Next to me

2:20:572:20:59

# Woo-hoo

2:20:592:21:02

# Next to me

2:21:022:21:04

# Woo-hoo

2:21:042:21:07

# You will find him

2:21:072:21:08

# You'll find him next to me

2:21:082:21:11

# When the money's spent and all my friends have vanished

2:21:132:21:16

# I can't seem to find no help or love for free

2:21:172:21:21

# I know there's no need for me to panic

2:21:232:21:27

# Cos I'll find him

2:21:272:21:29

# I'll find him next to me

2:21:292:21:31

# When the skies are grey and all the doors are closing

2:21:332:21:37

# And the rising pressure makes it hard to breathe

2:21:372:21:43

# When all I need's a hand to stop the tears from falling

2:21:432:21:47

# I will find him

2:21:472:21:49

# I'll find him next to me

2:21:492:21:52

# Next to me

2:21:522:21:55

# Woo-hoo

2:21:552:21:57

# Next to me

2:21:572:22:00

# Woo-hoo

2:22:002:22:02

# Next to me

2:22:022:22:05

# Woo-hoo

2:22:052:22:07

# You will find him

2:22:072:22:09

# You'll find him next to me

2:22:092:22:12

# When the end has come and buildings falling down fast

2:22:132:22:18

# When we've spoilt the land and dried up all the sea

2:22:182:22:22

# When everyone has lost their heads around us

2:22:232:22:27

# You will find him

2:22:272:22:29

# You'll find him next to me

2:22:292:22:33

# Next to me

2:22:332:22:35

# Woo-hoo

2:22:352:22:38

# Next to me

2:22:382:22:40

# Woo-hoo

2:22:402:22:43

# Next to me

2:22:432:22:46

# Woo-hoo

2:22:462:22:48

# You will find him

2:22:482:22:49

# You'll find him next to me

2:23:232:23:26

# Woo-hoo

2:23:262:23:29

# You will find him

2:23:292:23:31

# You'll find him next to me. #

2:23:312:23:35

APPLAUSE

2:23:372:23:39

Biggest selling artist last year and why not?

2:23:432:23:45

Before that, the amazing Paloma Faith. What a show it's been.

2:23:452:23:49

We've got time for one more number before our big finish

2:23:492:23:51

and I think that number should be for all those people who are looking for a love,

2:23:512:23:55

because we've got the one and only Mr Bobby Womack.

2:23:552:23:58

APPLAUSE

2:23:592:24:01

Thank you!

2:24:012:24:03

Let's go back.

2:24:032:24:05

# For a lover

2:24:052:24:06

# Mmm

2:24:062:24:08

# Looking for a lover

2:24:082:24:10

# I'm looking for a love

2:24:102:24:14

-# I'm looking

-I'm looking

2:24:142:24:16

# I've got to find a love

2:24:162:24:18

-# I'm looking for a love

-For a love

2:24:182:24:22

-# Looking for a love

-I'm looking for a love

2:24:222:24:25

# Well now, I'm looking here and there

2:24:252:24:28

# I'm searching everywhere

2:24:282:24:30

# And I'm looking

2:24:302:24:31

# I'm looking

2:24:312:24:32

# I'm looking

2:24:322:24:33

# I'm looking

2:24:332:24:34

# Oh, looking for a love

2:24:342:24:36

# To call my own

2:24:362:24:38

# Oh, looking for my love

2:24:382:24:41

# Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

2:24:412:24:43

# I'm looking for a love

2:24:432:24:45

# Well, well now I'm looking here and there

2:24:452:24:49

# Searching everywhere

2:24:492:24:50

# Gotta look I'm looking

2:24:502:24:52

# I'm looking I'm looking

2:24:522:24:54

# I'm looking for a love

2:24:542:24:56

# To call my own

2:24:562:24:58

# Someone to get up in the mornin'

2:24:582:25:01

# And rub my head

2:25:012:25:03

# I'm looking for a love

2:25:032:25:04

# To call my own

2:25:042:25:06

# Someone to fix my breakfast

2:25:062:25:09

# And bring it to my bed

2:25:092:25:10

# I'm looking for a love

2:25:102:25:13

# To call my own

2:25:132:25:14

# Someone to do a little housework

2:25:142:25:17

# And pamper me again

2:25:172:25:18

# I'm looking for a love

2:25:182:25:20

# To call my own

2:25:202:25:23

# With lots of love and kisses

2:25:232:25:25

# And people, until then

2:25:252:25:27

# I'm looking for a love

2:25:272:25:30

# Right now, oh

2:25:302:25:32

# I'm looking for a love

2:25:322:25:34

# Has anybody got that?

2:25:342:25:35

# Looking for a love

2:25:352:25:38

# Well, I'm looking here and there

2:25:382:25:41

# Searching everywhere

2:25:412:25:43

# You got me I'm looking

2:25:432:25:45

# I'm looking

2:25:452:25:46

# I'm looking

Joining Jools, for his 20th Annual Hootenanny and the last to be filmed at BBC Television Centre, will be a host of stars from all walks of British life and a variety of guest singers sitting in with Jools' Rhythm & Blues Orchestra and some of the star turns over the decades and the last twelve months.

One of the UK breakout stars of the year Lianne La Havas performs her ode to going out with an older man in Age, plus an Ella Fitzgerald number. King of the charts in the early 80s, Adam Ant performs some of his classic pop tunes along with a number from his upcoming album with his new group The Good, the Mad and the Lovely Posse. East London's own Paloma Faith sings an Etta James number along with Just Be from her big-selling 2012 album. Scandinavian good timers and smart dressers The Hives drop in to dazzle with their rock and roll tunes, including crowd favourite Hate To Say I Told You So. From Detroit, soul singer Bettye LaVette performs her 1965 tune Let Me Down Easy, along with her take on The Black Keys' I'm Not the One from her new album. Frontman of Dexys Midnight Runners Kevin Rowland reprises a couple of their classic 80s tunes along with a number from their 2012 album One Day I'm Going to Soar. Holding court in the 'middle of the floor' is Nottingham's newest star, singer-songwriter Jake Bugg, who had huge success in 2012 reaching No 1 with his debut album. Sharing the space is legendary Irish folk group The Dubliners, who are celebrating their 50th anniversary and perform a couple of their classic tunes including the barnstorming The Irish Rover. Concluding the line-up are Fine Young Cannibals frontman Roland Gift, with one or two of their classic tunes, and UK soul singer extraordinaire Ruby Turner.
