suit, please welcome the wonderful Live and direct, the superb drums.

:12:58.:13:08.

A wonderful album. Bjork! The beautiful singers - what a

:13:08.:13:14.

lovely line-up. I go to this zone here and meet one of our superb

:13:14.:13:20.

acts this evening. I welcome Noel Gallagher.

:13:20.:13:26.

High Flying Birds. A very good record indeed. Is it more fun being

:13:26.:13:31.

solo or more fun being in a band? solo or more fun being in a band?

:13:31.:13:34.

It's, well being in a band and a big band is the greatest trip in

:13:35.:13:40.

the world. It's different. It's like, it's just different. It's

:13:40.:13:44.

like ice cream or jelly. Which would you prefer? I like them

:13:44.:13:50.

together. I mix them up. You can't be a solo artist and be in a band.

:13:50.:13:57.

It's been tried before. What about the big band. It's before my time.

:13:57.:14:04.

A lot of things are before our time and after our time. It's about

:14:04.:14:10.

ageism. What age is that? Your record is a superb record. What are

:14:10.:14:17.

you going to play next for us? going to play The Death Of You And

:14:17.:14:24.

Me. It is live. There cannot be confusion. Everybody is shrugging

:14:24.:14:30.

their shoulders. It might be Cool For Cats. It is superb.Vy played it

:14:30.:14:35.

in my car. I am look -- I have played it in my car. I am looking

:14:35.:14:45.
:14:45.:14:45.

forward to hearing you play live. Thank you very much, Noel Gallagher.

:14:45.:14:53.

So, now it is time for a brand new artist, yes, a brand new artist.

:14:53.:15:02.

Welcome over in this corner Michael # I didn't know what it means

:15:02.:15:12.
:15:12.:15:20.

# I didn't know what it means # Would you take care of

:15:20.:15:30.
:15:30.:15:34.

# Oh my, I didn't know how hard it would be

:15:34.:15:42.

# Hmm

:15:57.:16:02.

# Oh, Lord

:16:02.:16:04.

# I'm getting ready to believe

:16:04.:16:11.

# Then we'll be waving hands singing freely

:16:12.:16:16.

# Singing, standing toes now coming easy

:16:16.:16:20.

# No more looking down

:16:20.:16:23.

# Honey, can't you see me

:16:23.:16:26.

Joining Jools on this last programme in the current series are: LA's own alternative rock/funk superstars Red Hot Chili Peppers with songs from their tenth studio album I'm With You, and Iceland's biggest musical export Bjork with pieces from her newest album Biophilia. The album began as a true interactive experience and combined music with technological innovation and themes of science and nature, and was the first-ever 'app album'. It has also now surfaced as a traditional release.

Also in the studio, from Burnage, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds with songs from his debut album, which made it to number one in the UK album chart.

Making their TV debuts on the show are East London's answer to The Strokes, Spector, who perform a couple of their sparkly pop tunes, and also from London, Michael Kiwanuka, a 23-year-old son of Ugandan immigrants whose sound has been compared to Bill Withers and Van Morrison.

Completing the series, from Nashville, singer songwriter Gillian Welch, joined by her musical partner and guitarist Dave Rawlings on a couple of songs from her album The Harrow and the Harvest.
