House of Legends. Speaking of legends, I welcome Bryan Ferry!

APPLAUSE You've got a fantastic new record

out. Danny Baker, he's not allowed to speak on this show for various

reasons. On Friday we can hear him speaking. Don't say a word. He made

you sign this record. It's very unusual because you're not singing

or playing on it at all. It's a wonderful record, explain how that

can be. It's an album of my songs over the years. It's something that

we've produced in my studio. Yeah, it's got great players on it and

it's done in the 1920s style. beautifully recorded. It puts you

straight in that humour. As soon as I put it on, I wanted to wear the

right suit, drive the right Packard car. A racoon coat. I think I was

wearing that. We have some footage of it. It's amazing, having one of

the great singers not singing on Slave to love, the only face, all

of these great, Virginia playing, they're all on here in a jazzy

style. Would you like to have lived in a jazz age? I'm intrigued by the

period. There was so much going on, kind of the birth of so many things.

It was the beginning of a lot of stuff, like the beginning of modern

music with Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald. The beginning of

everything we know. They're going like that, which means you're

marvellous and it's superb. I'm handing that back to Danny Baker.
