That is very cute. Everything Everything with their beautifully

unusual music. I am thinking after this festival season those boiler

suits need a wash. They are the world's worst Ghostbusters. I love

that music, Everything Everything. One of the things I have learned is

tracking the journey of some of the smaller bands as they get bigger

and bigger. We had that with Two Door Cinema Club. We had Everything

Everything do a set for us a few years back. This is Big Deal. Check

APPLAUSE About lutely adore that. We have

been playing that in the office all week. The album is not even out yet.

There are so many excited people just out there waiting to see Pulp

on that Main Stage. It's been a real excitement building all day

here at Reading festival. Greg has been out and about, chatting to

people, seeing how they are doing and how they are looking forward to

that gig. Greg, how are you? Thank you very much Fearne and Reg. I'm

in the pit of the Main Stage at the moment just before Pulp take to the

Main Stage. I have some pullen fans here.

So, quite excite about Pulp. What do they mean to you as a fan?

Everything. I've been waiting since 11am just to see them.

You've been here for the whole day? On this bar. What about if you need

a wee? I haven't. Feeling OK? little bit. What Pulp song? Common

Hello. My name's Jarvis Cocker. I'm in a pop group called Pulp. The

band from Sheffield who helped to shape Britpop back at Reading after

nine years away, with a set promised to be full of anthems. In

fact, up until this summer, the last time the classic Pulp line-up

shared the stage it was the year Take That was splitting up. Jay-Z

was releasing an album. And Jarvis's bottom was the most talked

about in pop. So Do You Remember The First Time?

In 1994, after 16 years of pop obscurity Pulp arrived on the pop

landscape with their fourth album, His And Hers. It announced a new

national hero and unlikely sex symbol in the shape of Jarvis

Cocker. What did his mum make of her son's new-found celebrity.

is difficult to see her son as a sex symbol, unless they are built

like Rock Hudson. This was the anthem of the summer.

Roses had to pull out of Glastonbury the following month up

stepped Pulp. We were told that John was, he had fallen off his

mountain bike. He has broken his collarbone. Do you want to take

their place? It went down in festival folk law.

The subsequent album, Different Class went on to sell 1.2 million

copies. The winner of the 1996 Mercury Prize is Different Class.

We were given these unforgetable singles.

# The year 2,000 # Something Changed. And some

controversy. # We're all sorted out for E's and

wiss. Jackson said he was sickened by the incident and Cocker ran on

to the stage during his live performance. The group went on to

release another two albums this is Hard Core in 1998.

And 2001's We Love Life, after which Pulp would take a lengthy

break. During which Jarvis was a recognisable voice on our own 6

Music and grow a beard. Fast forward this evening where a new

generation of festivalgoers will be -- festival-goers will be treated

to them. I never will forget the day he ran on the stage at the BRIT

Awards. He called TFI Friday. They started a "free Jarvis campaign."

We have seen many of his Derryer -- derrier moments down there. Greg

talked to some over excited people. It is interested to see different

generations of people getting into Pulp. People there first time

around. Younger people who have just finished doing their exams.

They are out there, getting very excited. You will see Pulp live

here on BBC Three very shortly. Pulp have played just about

everywhere. You have not had a chance to see them on telly. This
